MARES IN BLACK

CHAPTER 3: BE UNEXPECTED
Note: the gender roles of golden and spark have now been switched due to my stupidity in gender confusion.

I woke up in a cold sweat instantaneously wondering what the hell had happened. Looking around I saw that Everypony was on the ground and unconches except for zero, he was no were to be seen or herd. I trotted over to bon and tried to wake her up. But instead of waking up she just moaned and rolled over and while doing so smacked me right across the face. I ignored this and kept trying to wake her up.

After realising she wasn’t waking up without a fight I turned away to pick up my weapon. It was night time and still really cold, I let out a shiver and leant down to pick up my gun. But something wasn’t right, Im being watched I said to myself. I picked up my gun and turned around, fast. I saw something run for cover from on top of a roof. I AM being watched I said realising the reality of the situation at hoof.

I stared at the roof mercilessly then turned my gaze to spark, he was waking up. I sprinted over to him but before I could get to him 4 small blue projectiles flew my way but I dodged them and retuned fire carrying on to spark. I almost got to him when suddenly I was tackled to the ground by a large enemy with flowing transterant pink tentacles flowing out the back of its head. We rolled until we stopped and it was on top of me. I had cuts all over me, it had extremely sharp knifes attached to both its wrists.
It raised both of its three fingered robotic hands to stab both wrist knifes into my head when just before it was, a blue light shot strait through its tiny 16 eyed head. Orange and pink ooze sprayed all over me and some got in my mouth. I pushed the corpse off of myself and started gaging to the side. Once I was Shure I had rid of all the things blood from my system I rolled flat onto my back breathing heavily as my vision started to go black around the edges of my eyes.

I looked to my side to see a smiling pitch black Pegasus look at me with his bright green eyes and said; you ok Lyra? You’re losing abit of blood so if you black out I won’t be surprised. And if you do then just let it be known that you are safe now, I will protect you till the exhaustion of my own life. Destiny’s a bitch, but she’s a bitch we all have to deal with.

I couldn’t speak; I just listened to what he had to say. I looked around myself to see at least 15 open wounds bleeding like crazy. Zero moved my head to face him and he said; allots riding on your life, and at this point in time I could say it’s the same fate for all of us. He had a black and gold bag next to him; he opened it to reveal medical equipment and bandages. I looked him in the eyes, gave him a painful grin then allowed myself to be overcome by the blood loss.

I woke up to the sweet smell of perfectly cooked bacon and eggs. I looked around and the first thing I saw was spark scoffing down some eggs and bon giving him the ‘are you serious!?’ look. Zero was sitting in front of a fire cooking more breakfast at the brink of dawn. I sat up but instantly stopped after I felt a sharp pain in my right fore leg. I looked down to see bandages with splotches of red where it hurt most.

I looked at the rest of my body to find that I was covered in silk bandages. Zero noticed I was up and said good morning to me. Once said, spark looked up with egg white and a bacon strip still hanging out of his mouth and gave me a wave then continued eating, bon just face hoofed. Want some breakfast Lyra? It’s fresh. Shure why not I responded. Uhh where exactly are we? Top ahh Swayback Mountain. And you should be glad I decided to bring you with us, I had to lug your ass 20 fucken miles yaknow.

Jesus man get over it, at least I go to the gym. HEY you leave that hell whole outa this he said while pointing the spatula at me. I just giggled and waited for my breakfast to be ready. ORDER UP! He then made an imitation noise of a service bell. Ding ding. He put the plate directly in front me. Dam this looks good! Tell me about it spark said while rubbing his belly. Hey Lyra bon said, you want to come to the river to get a drink once you’ve finished breakfast? Shure.

You Shure that’s a good Idea, I don’t need to distribute anymore painkillers do I? Zero gave me a caring look. I’ll be FINE. Really I will I reassured him. Ok just be careful. Shure thing. I took one last bit off egg and headed off.

Spark looked at me; smooooooooooth he said with a cheeky grin. Hey shut up man you’re doing no better! Whoa dude leave me outa this, it’s your relationship not mine spark said while walking away. Yhea well how are you and rainbow going!? Shut the FUCK up man! He yelled back from a distance. I chuckled and just stared at bon and Lyra walking away toward the river.

We got to the river and we talked; what do you think is going to happen to us Lyra? I honestly don’t know but it can’t be healthy thinking about it, let’s just get a drink and head back. Speaking of healthy, how are those wounds going? You were bleeding like a stuffed pig when I woke up. Meh not too bad, it just hurts a little when I pivot. Another thing though Lyra, what the hell attacked you? There was no carcass no nothing.

I gave her a blatant look, trust me bon if you’d seen it you wouldn’t be able to sleep for weeks on end. She just shot me a worried look then slurped up some water. We were about to head back when suddenly the small rocks on the ground started to tremble and bounce. Bon started; what the fuh- before she could finish a huge flying machine flew just a-few inches above our heads. It flew away toward the swayback desert. Bon was panting, WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT!? She shouted in confusion.
Wait! Shhhhhhhhhh. I hear something. I put my head to the ground. I hear I paused for a moment, I hear scrambled hoof steps. I lifted my head. Once I was up again I looked around for bon, but she was gone. I sighed and lifted my head back up strait to find the back of it met a cold circular object. I heard a deep voice and it said; you move, I put a 50 miler meter in your head.

STAND DOWN SOLDIER! I heard polite voice yell. She’s friendly, you are friendly right. Uhh that would be a yes. Err I don’t suppose the other filly’s with you? Yhea, she is. From behind a crowd of royal guard’s bon flopped onto the ground. Soooo soldier, you mind telling me what section you and your friend belong to. Cobolt section mam. Every single one of the guards took a step back. One of the soldiers spoke up; but that can’t be, cobolt section is in the infected zone!?

I know I had to put a protection spell on all of us. All of you? The same solder said. Wait, how many more of you are there? Just another two, spark and- ZERO, zero interrupted from behind. All of the solders turned to zero and turned off their safeties. Stand down soldiers, I mean no harm. The commander of the troops took a second then gave the other troopers a nod. They all lowered their weapons.

I walked past Lyra and all of the guards and solders to end up standing front of the pink mare who had originally been giving the orders. I knelt down in front of her and said; princess mia moray cadenza, it’s always a pleasure. She looked down at me and muttered; ditto.
Now come on Everypony were guna overheat of we stay outside, plus bravo section just reported in that the ceph are showing up too.
