Solid Script Equestria
Chapter 31: A Guild Continues to Grow
Previous ChapterNext Chapter“Hey Swift! Order of Vegetable Ramen up!” I turned from my spot on the bar as Swift flew over and grabbed the bowl of soup from the window. As soon as she flew off Raine ran up and grabbed several mugs of beer from Zen before heading back into the guild. I frowned as the two girls began to run about, barely paying any mind to Maddie as she tagged along like a duckling, wanting to help as well.
I noticed that this has been a rather common occurrence recently, having the two waitresses running about. Those two haven’t even been on any quests in at least a month, most of their money coming from working here at the guild.
When we first opened those two were enough to keep the guild in control, but with the new members joining as well as visitors from around Equestria coming to see what this place is about, they have really been strapped in with work.
It was especially bad recently since Raine was planning a trip back to Manehatten to visit her aunt with some of the others from there tagging along.
Hence why I sent out several help wanted flyers to our outposts across the country. That was a week ago, and already several replies had been sent back, with the creatures in question set to arrive some time tomorrow. For now though, Raine, Swift and Maddie were running/flying around with orders, while Flora and Spark were working in the back.
I brought up my mug of cider, quickly draining the rest of it, before leaving the bar counter and heading to the back room in the archives. I had some more work to do right now, and if the girls needed a hand with waiting tables, they knew to call. I took another glance around the guild, nodding to myself as I saw all the of the creatures gather about for the lunch rush, before heading to the back.
Passing by some of the shelves, I allowed myself a small smirk as I saw several members reading through some tomes and books we have. In particular I noticed my daughters reading their own little work books full of things like math and reading comprehension tests. I knew they needed a bit more homeschooling before they could join the CMC at the schoolhouse.
Once I reached where I needed to go, I locked the door behind me, and sat down on the ground. All around me were stacks of blank sheets of paper of different types, scrolls, leather covers, buckram and cloth. There was also several quills, pens, different colours of ink and paint, and finally, strings. I opened my mind and focused on my memory and Archive magic.
All around me, the room came to life with movement, several pens and quills beginning to spin around me before beginning to place their ink on the paper and scrolls, scribing words and images without me actually holding anything.
On one side of me, several words, descriptions and accompanying information was written on sheets of paper just like those in a regular library.
On the other side, several scrolls were unwound and used, their words, images and information being of a more...restricted nature.
Lastly, just before my closed eyes, several sheets of artists paper, as well as regular sheets, were being painted and draw upon, their images being the most focused on part of my work.
It had taken months of practicing before I could successfully split my attention several ways beyond that of regular multitasking. I am essentially using several forms of magic at once; Memory Make, Archive, Telekinesis and Picto Magic all at once to create these images and sheets.
This is actually what I spend most of my time off doing. Using my Memory Maker and Archive magics to go through nearly two decades of my own memories, up to when I was three or four, before finding what I am looking for in my ‘Memory Warehouse’ as I call it, and recording the info and images onto sheets of paper with my Telekinesis and Picto magic.
It’s through this method that all the information in the archives had come from. Not just on Fiore magic, but also on information, spells, skills and abilities from other media and thus, other worlds. After this, what my members do with the info is up to them.
It has been through this method, as well as a ton of trial and error in the time dilated dream world, that so many new skills and magic have been created in this guild. Already, I had been able to recreate several skills and spells from Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy (no real surprise since I and several others have keyblades), Persona, Naruto, and even some of the Kido (Spirit/Demon Way) spells; Bakudo (Way of Binding), Hado (Way of Destruction), and Kaido (Way of Healing) from Bleach. Not an easy feat, but I managed to get through it, though even I am forced to verbally say a full incantation for any spells more advanced than the first five. And considering there are around a hundred of each type, all separated into their own sections via their number....yeah, not all that viable in a fast paced battle.
I also have another small side venture with Rarity: creating all the outfits from other media to sell at her boutiques. Already many of the kimonos and oriental business outfits from Japan have become extremely popular in Canterlot. Even Celestia, Luna, Cadence and Shining got some outfits. While other casual wear, school uniforms, and even one piece outfits have become hits all over Equestria.
Because of my right to ownership since most (all) of the designs come from me and the guild, Rarity gave me, and thus the guild, a large portion of the profit from her sales. Already, aside from just working in the guild, Rarity has gained several other sources of income from four new stores, one in Canterlot, one in Cloudsdale, one in the Crystal Empire and even a second one in Manehatten.
While she has been taking a break from the quests the guild offers to make sure her shops are all up and functioning to her expectations, she has said that each store will also have a section specifically made for Fairy Tail merchandise, just as soon as I can get a proper agreement with some manufacturers. She has also gotten some help from her friends, specifically Applejack and Rainbow Dash, on who she would hire to run the stores. Having the Bearers of the Elements of Honesty and Loyalty definitely helped temper the Element of Generosity from hiring the wrong creatures.
Surprisingly the ones in charge of the Cloudsdale Boutique is actually a pair of griffons that moved there a year ago, and were having trouble finding work and housing. They made a compromise since the boutique in Cloudsdale in made just like the one here in Ponyville, and can work like a loft big enough for a family of four.
The duo actually were like that Gustave griffon the girls met a while back, only both of them excelling in the art of fashion instead of food. The male, a griffon named Griff, had a very good eye for detail, even above normal ponies and most humans, being able to tell the shade and thread count of a suit in a minute. His opposite, a hen named Gaudy, was actually the opposite of her name. She could put together even some of the most complex outfits Rarity gave her. It was actually where Sonbā got his new outfit, a male version of Guren’s outfit from Naruto. Perfect for his wings and magic.
In Canterlot, it was actually Fleur De Lis, who was now visibly pregnant, that introduced Rarity to who should run her establishment, a rather kind and thin mare named Sassy Saddles. At first the mare wasn’t all for the lines of kimonos, yukatas, haori’s and hakama’s, but as the place opened as the Japanese and even Chinese outfits sold way more than dresses and suits, she turned around. Rarity had to remind her to not go overboard with requesting items and to pace herself, spending a week in Canterlot to teach Sassy the ways of proper dressmaking, instead of the cutthroat, repetitious fast style Sassy had previously used.
The Crystal Empire was a quick and decisive boon, the entire placing become almost like the New Japan of Equestria, even though it is on the border. The Eastern Earth outfits sold like hot cakes after I and the royals were seen talking in our own kimonos one time. After that, things just clicked with most of the kingdom following with the new fashion trend. The boutique there was run by one of Emerald’s friends from before Sombra, an older stallion and his grandfillies.
Manehatten was actually made in a lower income area that most of the none ponies lived. At first Rarity thought it would be a loss, Raine, Nate and Zen spread the word throughout the area when the stopped by one time, and the place basically blew up with customers. Not just from the area, but also from in the city itself if they were nearby.
That really helped the local stores and people. As soon as traffic began to pick up, officials came down and saw how much business was being done there. Not surprisingly, afterwards the areas began to get more traffic in the form of construction and renovating. The dirt paths and roads were paved, the local weather was added onto the track for the weather teams, some buildings were destroyed from lack of maintenance and need to be destroyed. That was actually a really good day since some of it was taken care of by some of our members like Aspen and Cobalt Will.
The one who ran it was actually Raine’s aunt Rose. The older Gem Hound (I learned some time ago that that is the preferred reference to the canines and Diamond Dogs has slowly become a derogatory term) was a very smart business woman, and hired several locals she knew to help run the store. Rarity was extremely thankful, and it gave Raine an excuse to see her family whenever she is in town for a delivery to the boutiques.
I am broken out of my memories of my business ventures as of late, hearing my watch beeping at me. I sighed, mentally placing all the unfinished sheets away while finishing putting together the ones I was able to get done. Opening my eyes, I grinned as I saw several outfits from the Pokemon universe on the art sheets, most particular was one I wanted Rarity to make for a while, Cynthia’s outfit.
To the side, I saw several manga’s all put together, already I was halfway through recreating the Shonen Jump books I managed to recreate, in particular those while Naruto and some lesser know worlds like D-Grey Man and I even made many own Manga adaptation of Black Rock Shooter. A shame there isn’t an actual manga of it, but I think I am doing a pretty good job of recreating the show onto paper.
I turned off my alarm and stretched my arms and legs to get the blood flowing again. A couple hours of sitting still and only using magic to work can make one so stiff. I carefully grabbed all the finished scrolls and books, and made my way out of the back room, using a form of Perception Altering magic to make myself completely unnoticeable.
I saw a couple of members reading some of the newer books I made, like Zen who was actually reading a book I made about the Hyuga clan from Naruto, more specifically how they use Chakra in their Gentle Fist fighting style. I have no real aptitude for hand-to-hand combat, but I can put all the knowledge about the styles into the books. Considering how intensely Zen was reading the book, I had a feeling we may be getting a Gentle Fist user here eventually, especially since I notice him reading some books about pressure points a couple days ago.
Walking around the library, I put the new spells and books in their new spots. The area with simple entertainment was actually near the entrance, while all the technical books were separated into their own sections, and bookshelves per world. Already the Naruto shelf has a ton of books and manuals in it, all separated by Clan, style and element.
Once all the books were in their rightful spots, I headed farther back into the archives, making sure no one was looking my way, before walking through one of the shelves with my Phasing magic into the restricted section.
This area is actually where I keep all the scrolls and manuals on abilities that I deem too dangerous. I still make them, but they are only to be used if I find someone with an aptitude for the information. Already I have a booklet on Ankhseram Black Magic, the Law spells, the four Grand Fairy Spells, most forms of Lost Magic aside from Slayer Magic and other forbidden or restricted spells and abilities from other media, like some of the Unforgivable Spells from the Harry Potter franchise. I also keep almost all the info on true irredeemable villains in this section. It’s why it is impossible to get into without teleporting or phasing through a wall. The last thing I need is someone breaking in, stumbling across the info by accident and getting ideas.
Placing the scrolls into their respective shelves, I nod to myself before teleporting out of the sealed room and towards Carousel Boutique. I had some outfits to commission!
The Next Day...
I quickly wiped down the table I was working on, making sure the place is extra clean for today. Raine, Swift, and Zen just arrived to help me with opening up, and were now all prepared to work. I was just prepared for the arrival of some new employee hopefuls. I got a reply back for three new waitresses, with two of them asking to be guildkeepers as well.
I was surprised that I got the responses so quickly, but I wasn’t about to look a gift h...a very lucky situation, in the mouth.
Once we were ready Raine unlocked the guild hall and I took my usual spot on the bar. Now I understand why Makarov loved sitting there. Quick access to the drinks and food, a good vantage point to watch the guild, and it was just surprisingly comfy.
Time passed really quickly as the guild opened up, most members coming by for a quick breakfast before starting their day, several new quests being grabbed right after. Another of my duties I can do while I am at the bar, approving and noting who is going on what quest.
“Um, excuse me?” I turned my attention from Nate as he pulled up a quest, seeing someone new. She was an abyssian, oddly enough, with Snow White fur that made me blink a couple times, her modest chest being covered by a simple purple tank top and eggshell white wrappings and a worn brown hood, while her bottom was covered by a pair of damaged blue denim shorts. On her waist was a brown belt, with a bronze lantern that was glowing blue attached. I saw that her wrists, around her elbows, thighs, neck and tail, her fur was a splotchy black, almost like it was segmented joints like a doll. Her hair was also white, but it was long and wild, almost like a lions mane, with her ears being tipped black as well. I guess she is a lioness abyssian.
But what caught my attention the most was her eyes. They were a bright, sparkling blue that was almost like a clear lake in midday, but her sclera was pitch black with flecks of white like it was the night sky itself. Actually, on second glance, I saw her eyes were the same colour as the light from the lantern.
“Um, excuse me?” She repeated herself, causing me and Nate to shake our heads. I noticed the Gem hounds blush as he convincingly ran through the door.
“Sorry about that. I am just surprised to see another Abyssian.” I said, motioning to the chair next to me. She nervously sat down, her tail waving back and forth in anticipation. “So, who are you?”
“Oh, sorry. My name is Willow Wisp. I have been wandering around Equestria for a couple months when I heard about this place. I was in Dodge Junction when I saw that Abyssian tomcat with blue hair, but he just got on a train when I saw him.” She answered, twirling her thumbs. “I have never actually seen another Abyssian this far in Equestria. Most of us have been scattered-”
“After the Storm King destroyed Panthera. I heard, Capper and Aspen gave me a rundown of your kinds history.” I finished, wincing slightly when I saw Willow frown and rub her eyes. “Sorry. I have been meaning to try and get some info on the Storm Kingdom, but its slow going. I haven’t even been able to get my information network all the way up and running.”
“It’s ok. Honestly the fact that you even know a bit of what is going on beyond Equestria’s borders is a weight off my chest.” Willow replied, nodding in thanks to Zen who passed her some ale. I frowned as I watched her drink, not the least bit concerned about the alcohol.
“So, since you came all the way here to Fairy Tail, I take it you want to join up?” Willow nodded as she finished her drink, giggling at the froth moustache she had. “Alright. I’ll allow it so long as you answer one question for me.” She tilted her head, then frowned as my face went serious.
“Why is your soul separated from your body and in that lantern?”
The silence that surrounded us was deafening. At least to us. Only Zen could hear our conversation, making sure to keep quiet as he cleaned the glasses. Willow looked to me with wide eyes, said pupils shifting back and forth to take in the area around her. I just kept my gaze on her face, said lantern beginning to shake a bit as its glow increased.
“Um...uh....I-I” she stuttered, nervously shifting about, before I heard her sigh. But her lips didn’t move. Suddenly I had to blink as the blue lantern was floating before my face.
“Please don’t freak out!” Willow’s voice said from the lantern, making Zen’s eyes widen in shock.
“Wisp wait a second!” Willow’s body cried, trying to grab the floating lantern, which just avoided her hands.
“You’re the master here right? Then you must know tons of magic.” I nodded, my eyes on the talking soul in a lantern. “Look, long story short we had a run in with some not so nice mages from the Storm Kingdom and they cursed me-er us, whatever! There were going to steal my soul but my screaming attracted a bunch of Timberwolves to the area and stopped the spell midway through.”
“I was separated from my soul.” I turned to Willow’s body, who was now lowering her head. “But I didn’t die for some reason. I was literally a soulless body moving around. Somehow Wisp ended up in that lantern from the spell, but I couldn’t figure out why.”
“It was rough for a while.” I turned to ‘Wisp’. “Since I am literally our soul, Willow was so blunt and emotionless. Even now, despite how you might think, all the emotions she is showing is just her trying to emulate emotions from our memories.” I rose a brow and turned to Willow, who was now pouting, but I could see in her eyes....nothing. There was barely a lick of emotion in her blue and black gaze.
“Oh, wow. I have heard about this before.” They turned to me in shock as I rubbed my chin. “But still, to think some mages from that country were able to use soul altering magic.”
“Wait, does that mean you can use that too?” The lantern Wisp asked incredulously. In response, I reached beside me, creating a mini gate portal to the library and took out a book with a grey and green cover.
“This is a book on Seith magic. A form of Fiore magic that focuses on capturing and controlling souls. What those mages did to you was likely similar to the effects of Seith magic. Just like you, when a soul is separated from the body, both would normally become nothing more than a mindless slave to the user. But since the spell was interrupted midway through, you were able to remain sentient even while separated. Even more than that, you became two separate beings, but I can tell you two are still tethered together despite being separated.” Willow and Wisp looked at one another, before turning to me.
“Can you teach us Seith Magic?” I smiled at the duo of requests, before waving over Zen, who nodded and produced the guild stamp.
“What colour, and where?” I smiled as the body moved her hood and the soul motioned to the right shoulder. I stamped down, with the mark appearing a pitch black with a bright blue cover, the opposite of her eyes. I called Bertha over, who took Willow out of the guild towards the barracks. I am going to have to renovate soon at this rate.
I smiled to Zen who nodded back and passed me my drink. It was still early in the morning, but not his is wrong with a mimosa in the morning. I barely got the the drink to my lips before the doors opened again. I glanced to it, and saw another two creatures I didn’t know about.
One was a tan earth pony with bright red hair and a bit of stubble. He was wearing some simple clothes of grey sweat pants and a black t-shirt. I couldn’t see his cutie mark, but I had this weird feeling about him.
That he is a hothead.
The other was was another Gem Hound like Nate and Zen. His fur and hair was a dusty brown, making it a little hard to tell where either ended or began. He was wearing an actually nice pair of black slacks and a white button up shirt under a black vest. Very professional looking. I saw both were carrying a large duffel bag each, so it didn’t take a genius to know why they are here.
I watched as Raine greeted them before pointing to where I was. I kept a blank mask on my face watching the duo. Which was almost immediately broken when I could hear a certain babe crying.
Without a second thought, I teleported back to my room and grabbed my youngest, soothing her as I made my way back into the guild proper. I glanced up to the two new arrivals, but just put a finger to my lips. They nodded, then turned around with red faces as I lowered my kimono a bit for Yoru to drink.
“I can’t tell if you two are uncomfortable with this, or you are just being courteous in not looking.” I said with a grin as my little girl finished her meal with an adorable burp before giggling to herself. I laughed as well as I put my outfit back up.
“I am the latter. Not sure about the pony next to me though.” The gem hound said with his own grin, checking over his shoulder before turning to me.
“Oi, I’ll have you know it is only common courteously to not look when a mare is feeding her filly.” The stallion replied, before blushing at my raised brow and scratched his head. “And I assume that applies to....whatever you are?”
“Human, and yes.” I replied, lightly bouncing my little girl as I took out her apple themed teething ring. I smiled as she immediately started chewing on it as she looked at the two newcomers with wide eyes. “So, I guess you two are here to join up?”
“Yeah. I have been meaning to come here, but I needed to get everything sorted back home first.” The stallion said, before grinning. “Name’s Scarlet March. My friends just call me Red though.”
“I’m Sythe Slain. I just moved here to Equestria not that long ago, and have been looking for a place to get work. Once I heard of this place, I figured it would be perfect.” The Gem Hound said. I rose a brow as I just now noticed he had a slight Canadian accent of all things.
“Moved here?” I tilted my head. As much as I wanted to learn, there is actually very little info about the places beyond Equestria’s borders aside from Yakyakistan, Zebrica, some of the Badlands, Saddle Arabia and a little more than nothing on the Dragon Lands. Even what I have been able to learn about the Storm Kingdom has been second hand info from Capper and his connections.
“Yeah, just west and a little north of Yakyakistan in Caninda.” He explained, almost making me facepalm at the pun. Why, just why are all these places puns?
“Well, you two showed up at the right time. We’re going to be having our annual promotion exam in a couple weeks to see who gets raised in the ranks and where the newcomers lay as well as to see their experience in exploration in an unknown area.” I told them, smiling as I grabbed the stamp from the back of the bar again. The duo smiled as well, clearly excited about this.
After a few minutes of cataloging their data into my Super Archive, which I set to record personnel files in my office and in the library, I stamped Red and Sythe, the former having his on his right forearm and it being ruby red with a silver outline. Sythe had his on his neck, around the right jugular, being gold with a white outline. A quick call out, and Cobalt lead the two to the apartments/barracks. I am seriously going to have to renovate the place at this rate.
I smiled to myself, lightly bouncing my youngest daughter on my knee, who just released a muffled squeal, still teething on her ring. I check my watch, and saw it was a little after 10:30, so the new hires should be showing up soon. I just kept myself occupied with playing with Yoru, before summoning an Archive screen to start reading and labeling some funds for Emerald to move around. Even with what we are as a guild, I still had taxes to pay, fines to settle and accounts to help balance as per Emeralds instructions. Especially the middle part, but hey, we are Fairy Tail and destruction is our MO.
I just finished reading through Emeralds notes and allocating some money towards Dodge Junction’s Cherry Farmhouse reconstruction when I noticed two ponies walking up. I didn’t recognize them so I assumed they are two of the new hires.
Both ponies, both earth ponies specifically. The younger one, who appeared to be a teenager, had a bright green mane and tail, and bright expressive green eyes. Her fur was a slightly pale brown, and she was wearing a simple pair of grey joggers and a dark green t-shirt. On her shirt was what I assume to be her Cutie Mark; a pair of forks on a plate. The other was slightly older, likely my age, with a dark purple mane in a style similar to Cana, bright blue eyes, and pale pink fur. It was almost the same as my skin tone. She was wearing a pale purple and white maids dress that seemed to both work with her body type, and clash with her body language, who appeared to be rather abrasive. Her Cutie Mark was sewn onto her shoulder, which was a sudsy sponge.
Again, she reminds me a lot of Cana.
After the purple maned mare flagged down one of the members nearby, which was Dawn, and saw me, they both came over. I must have blinked though, because before I knew it the green one was right in my face.
“Woah! You really aren’t a pony!” My youngest yelped as I suddenly jumped to the second story, looking down with wide eyes for a second. They were both looking at me with also wide eyes, before I blinked and recomposed myself.
“Uh, sorry about that, but please don’t do that when I am carrying my baby.” I requested, adjusting Yoru as she began to fuss up from being moved like that. It took a minute for me to calm her down, where she then went back to teething.
“I apologize for my sister. She is a little too carefree for her own good sometimes.” The purple mare said with a tone that reminded me of that Weiss girl from RWBY.
I wonder if she and the rest of Ruby’s team have shown up in Adam’s world yet?
“So, my names Violet, my sister currently trying to talk to that bored pegasus is Verdant.” I looked where she was pointing and saw Verdant trying to make Dawn smile, and failing. I am pretty sure only Scootaloo and Fluttershy can make that colt smile. “We sent a message ahead about working here?”
“Oh yeah, one second. I think I have that in my office.” I said, hopping to the second floor and heading to said office. I saw Yoru was getting sleepy, so I set her in her crib in my office and turned on the mobile. A few second later, she was lightly snoring away. A quick glance at my desk and I had several letters and files hovering over my shoulder.
“So, Violet and Verdant Tavernda. Ages 21 and 16. Previous occupation, working for a family run bed and breakfast. Looking to work as a hostess/housekeeper and waitress respectively.” I read off, earning some nods in confirmation. “And are you aware of the requirements for working here?”
“We have to be members of this guild, going through some kind of exam in the Everfree forest as well as fill out some personal information forms.” Violet answered bluntly.
“And we can move into those apartments in the back!” Verdant added with a cheer. I rolled my eyes playfully at the teenager. Looks like Maddie may be getting a new friend. I handed the forms and some pens to the two mare, who just sat at the bar and began to fill out the forms.
“So, are there any specific duties we need to know about before anything else?” Violet questioned as she wrote some stuff down.
“Aside from keeping an open mind and not discriminating against any none-ponies? Not really. You and your sister will be working alongside a couple other members who are already working here, so they can give you two some pointers. If you have any questions on the finer points of being a mage, I have a sign in sheet for personal lessons.” I explained, flagging down Zen as she came from the kitchen. A minute later, I was happily slurping up a strawberry and kiwi smoothie.
Another couple of minutes and some hashing out their pay, I was sending Flora to show the sisters the apartments after they got their marks, purple with a white outline on the left hand and green with a blue outline on the left shoulder respectively for Violet and Verdant respectively. I smiled as I went through the two new mares information sheets, the answers on their questionnaires already giving me some ideas on what magic would work well with them.
I quietly placed the sheets in their respective cabinets in my office, checking on my little girl and seeing her still sleeping peacefully in her crib, clutching the Happy doll. Maybe I should read to her after she wakes up.
Two Hours later....
“Alright, good luck Dawn. And please keep the girls in check.” I said the group of Dawn and the Cutie Mark Crusaders. They were headed into town to help some of the tree cutters with construction. Applebloom had decided to use Gilda’s Ice Make magic and Raine’s Solid Script magic for the job. She had actually managed to figure out how to ‘store’ magic to use, and can use up to three different forms of magic, but only for about thirty minutes each before she loses them and has to copy someone else.
I laughed to myself as Sweetie and Scootaloo immediately began to complain as I pointed them out, while AB was just rolling her eyes and Dawn gave the barest of a smirk. I smiled back as the quartet left the building for town, before turning my attention back to my Archive list next to me.
I managed to keep the screen hidden from prying eyes with a small illusion spell, and have been going through some things on it for later. I knew that so far, all if the information checks out. I smiled as I waved the screen away, before stretching out with a satisfying pop of my spine.
I allowed myself a small laugh as I saw Pinkie, Maddie and Verdant planning what looked to be another welcome party for the newcomers for tonight. Going to have to soundproof my room for Yoru again if that is that case. Last time she couldn’t stop crying until everyone went to bed with how loud they were being.
I perked up again as I head the trio gasp, before seeing them run to the door where, someone new had just entered. I blinked a couple times, checking if my eyes were playing tricks on me.
I am starting to think the Abyssians are the Uzumaki Clan of Equis, because they are just popping out of the woodworks now!
Seriously the parallels are frightening now that I think about it.
Walking up were two snow leopard Abyssians, a mother and daughter clearly. They both had off white fur with a bunch of black spots scattered around their fur like Kathrine, bright blue eyes, and are extremely fluffy. Seriously, their tails are as big as Kat’s, but both unlike her they had a ton of fur on their chests that hid anything on their chests.
The mother had her black hair set in dreadlocks, while her daughter short wild hair was a half shade whiter than her fur. The little girl was in a very cute blue blouse under a black vest and long black skirt that reach her ankles. The mother, in contrast, wore a brown and black corset and black dress skirt with a slit on the right leg. Not going to lie, she was very beautiful, but I only have a few other Abyssians to compare.
I had to keep myself from either laughing or squealing as the duo walked up, and I saw the kid was holding onto her mothers tail by biting it. I could tell, she was pretty shy. But that was way too adorable!
What? Despite all my magic I’m still a girl so I can appreciate the cute things.
“Hello, welcome to Fairy Tail.” I greet as they made it to the bar.
“Hello. I’m Adria Riftwall, and this is my daughter Maeve.” The mother greeted back. I smiled warmly as little Maeve was just barely peaking out from behind her mother with wide eyes. Looking at her closer now, she looked to be around Arakunia’s age.
“It’s nice to meet you two, I’m Alexandria Justine, or Lex, Master of this guild.” I smiled as Adria took a seat at the bar with her daughter in her lap, still nomming on her mothers tail. I quickly went through the files I brought down and found the two of them. “Lets see here. Adria and Maeve, originally from outside of Los Pegasus, 35 and 10 respectively, previous occupation is running a family run tavern. Seeking work as a hostess/bartender/waitress and a waitress-in-training.”
“That sounds about right. I hope it isn’t too much trouble, but I would also like to advertise for my families tavern. Right now my sister and her family are running it while we’re here.” Adria explains, nodding thanks to Zen who brought over some drinks for the two. Maeve was still shy and silent as she reluctantly let go of her mothers tail to sip at some orange juice. I just smiled at her as the little kitten looked to me for a second.
“It’s no trouble. We already have Rarity advertising her boutiques and Applejack advertising the Apple families products, so advertising your families tavern shouldn’t be a problem.” I replied happily. After all, we need all the connections we could get, not just as information gathering hubs, but also to use as a potential early warning detector incase something happens that needs immediate help. “Also, in a couple weeks after the promotion and placement tests, we are going to be sending some of our youngest members to the school, and the guild will be handling the fees, so if you want to send little Maeve here to school, she would have plenty of friends off the bat.”
“Hmm, I suppose I should do that. My sister, her husband and I have done what we can to teach her, but I think learning from an actual teacher will be more helpful.” Adria muttered, before blinking a couple times. “Wait, youngest members?”
“Why yes, three of my daughters, Dawn and maybe Maddie, if only for her to catch up on some things she might have missed back home. There is also the Cutie Mark Crusaders who are already learning at school.” I explained, smiling cheekily at the felines wide eyes. Makes sense, I am over a decade younger than her and I have four kids.
“Um, wow. You have been busy.” Was all the other mother was able to utter. Heh. With a smile I handed over the two personal information sheets and questionnaires, before turning back to my Archive screen to go through a few more things.
I am going to have to take some more quests myself soon to help pay for one of my more expensive side projects. Thank god for Clone magic, especially that little cheat I managed to recreate.
After a couple of minutes, the little family finished their sheets and got their guild marks, light blue and black on the right shoulder for Adria and navy blue and purple on the left paw for Maeve. After that, I quickly put their sheets in my office, before leading them to the barracks myself. I noticed the duo had only a couple of luggage bags, so I lead them to one of the slightly larger apartments, showing them around for a minute. Maeve immediately starting rolling on the bed. I made sure each ones sheets, blankets and pillowcases were freshly cleaned at the start of each week, and today was Tuesday.
I barely stopped myself from laughing as the kitten purred loudly as she managed to find the right spot to curl up. I glanced to her mother who just shook her head fondly. “Well, I’ll let you two get situated. We can talk about your duties at the guild later.”
As I walked out, heading down the stairs to the ground, I noticed Flora not-so-sneakily leaving Trace’s room, her hair was visibly disheveled and she was wearing one of Trace’s jackets and a pair of shorts and nothing else.
The griffon looked around with a small blush, before she turned to the stairs and saw me standing there. The staring contest we had lasted for a while before I broke it with an impish grin and upturned brow, the griffon blushing brighter. I sent her a thumbs up and turned while calling back to her.
“I approve!”
Author's Note
Another Chapter?!
Yeah don’t expect this to become the norm, I had been working on this, the previous chapter and a couple others at the same time for the past while, so I managed to finish them all around the same time. The next few chapters on my page won’t be for a while, so please, be patient.
Have a good day everyone, and stay safe,.
