The Alicorn Ritual

"Thousands of years ago, when I was a filly, and Luna was only two...", Celestia started. "There was a powerful storm raging outside the castle. Wind had blown open one of the windows in Luna's room. I tried to close it, but then a bolt of black lightning shot through and hit Luna in the forehead. Luna screamed as her wings, and her alicorn magic disappeared mysteriously, and painfully. Our parents rushed in to find me cradling Luna and trying to calm her down. Mom knew what was to be done. She took blood and magic samples, as well as preened feathers from herself, her husband, and from her mom. She also included blood samples, and preened feathers from two pegasus friends. Last but not least, she took blood and magic samples from five unicorn friends. Mixing all of this together with hot apple cider, she created an elixir that would restore alicorn appendages. I was told to zap the potion to activate it, because I did not give anything to make it. I did so, and then put the glowing mixture in Luna's bottle. Luna drank the potion cautiously, and then..., I do not remember what happened after she drank it", Celestia said, as she reclaimed the story talked about in the book.
