Identity was so confused. After finding out both DJ and Caramel loved her, she didn’t know who to go with. She loved both of them. She was sitting on the sofa when Screwball came in and noticed Identity was sad. She sat next to her daughter and asked what was wrong.
Identity said "Mom, should I go with DJ or Caramel?”
“Oh honey," Screwball said, "This is a big decision to make, but sometimes the best way to solve these sort of problems is to leave the outcome to fate.”
Identity just looked down at the floor and started to sob. Screwball said
“This is your choice, I know the best will happen in your favor, and you will find that fate’s outcome will be for your best interest.”
Screwball got up and left the room. Identity stopped crying and thought on her mothers advice. She decided her mother was right and she went to bed.
The next morning when she woke up there was a knock on the door. It was Caramel.
"Hi Identity, how are you?" he asked.
"I'm fine, and you?" Identity replied.
"Great" Caramel said, "Although I did want to ask you something."
"Yes?" Identity prodded.
Caramel hesitated, but then said, "Would you go out with me tonight?"
Identity was a little surprised, but said, "Sure. I'll be ready to go at 7 tonight."
Caramel smiled. "See you tonight." He said. And with that he left.
It was dark,cold, and miserable in a run down shack where something or some pony was brewing a plan. Sombra sat on his bed plotting to somehow get his daughter, Shadow, back. She had left to be with her mother, princess Luna. But unfortunately they got into an argument and Luna no longer wanted Shadow. She had been put in the dungeon.
Sombra loved his daughter but never told her. He deeply regretted it. He thought maybe asking the princesses to let her go free. Or maybe kidnap some important pony and trade them for his daughter. Suddenly he got the perfect idea. To capture the mane 6, discord, discords children, grandchildren,and their friends to ransom them for Shadow. All he needed to do now was figure out a way to capture his victims.
Identity was getting ready for her date with Caramel when out of the blue the phone rang. She picked it up and found out it was DJ.
"DJ, what a pleasant surprise." Identity said.
"Isn't it?" DJ replied,
Identity giggled. "So whats up" Identity asked.
"Just wanted to see if you were available tomorrow to go get ice cream at Sugar Cube Corner." DJ wondered.
"Okay. I will be ready at 3." Identity replied.
"Awesome. See you tomorrow" DJ hung up. Identity smiled and continued to prepare for her date that night.
When Caramel arrived that night to pick up Identity for their date he was impressed on how she looked. So they went out for dinner and dancing. When they came home around 9:30 that night, Identity thanked Caramel for the date by giving him a kiss on the cheek. He blushed and gave her a hug and then they said goodbye.
Once inside, Mothball asked "So, how did your date go?"
"Groovy" replied Identity.
"Well that's good." said a voice that was coming from behind. Identity turned around and saw it was Chaotic, her twin brother.
"Oh, hi Chaotic, how was your date with RH (rainbow heart)?" Identity asked.
"It was awesome. But sis I need to talk to you privately."
Sombra had decided to start with either Caramel or Identity for the capturing part of his plan. He knew that he could capture Caramel with apple bait and go from there. He very well knew that Identity would come for him, followed by DJ and Chaotic, then RH etc. Or start with Identity and then get DJ, Caramel, Chaotic, Screwball, and Mothball all at once followed by every pony else. After not so much debating he knew who to start with.
"Dad do you-"
"Not at all" Mothball interrupted, as he left the room. Left alone Identity and Chaotic sat on the floor.
"Sis, the reason I needed you alone is so I could get some advice" Chaotic said.
Identity didn't say anything and continued to listen.
"Identity, I want to propose to RH but I don't know when to do so," He continued.
"You could propose to her at our birthday party, after all, where and when else would be the perfect time and place?" Identity proposed.
"Hey, that's a great idea Identity. Thanks." Chaotic got up and left.
Left alone Identity thought about her date with Caramel that night and her date tomorrow with DJ. She was still confused on whether she should choose Caramel or DJ, but thought back to her mothers advice.
(This is a big decision to make, but sometimes the best way to solve these sort of problems is to leave the outcome to fate).
Identity was still confused, but she trusted her mother and she went to bed.
Sombra decided to start with Identity and he figured how to capture her too. He had watched her through a magical crystal to see that DJ had called her. He would call her and say that he had captured DJ, and if she ever wanted to see him again she would have to leave "specifically" her brother a note telling him she went to the tree of harmony and to meet her there. Then she would have to meet Sombra at the tree of harmony in the Everfree forest. Once she was captured, he would call Caramel, DJ, and RH. He would tell them if they ever wanted to see Identity again to leave a note at home telling their family they went to the tree of harmony...and to meet them there. Then for Caramel, DJ, and RH to come and meet up at the tree of harmony to fetch Identity. Sombra grinned at this thought and he rejoiced somehow knowing he would get Shadow back.

It was Identity and Chaotic’s 20th birthday. They had invited their friends RH, DJ, and Caramel. Discord, Fluttershy, uncle Zany, Screwball, Mothball, Aunt Bellatrix or Trixie, cousin Moonbeam, and the Mane 6 with their families.
Uncle Zany was Screwball’s little brother. He was gray with a pink mane and tail along with his red lolly pop eyes. Screwball was an earth pony with a pink coat, a mane of curly purple and white hair, and purple spirals for eyes. Mothball was a royal changeling with swiss cheese legs, cobweb hair, a deformed horn, insect-like wings, and slit pupils. Aunt Bellatrix (She preferred being called Trixie) was queen of the changelings since Chrysalis had died. She looked like Chrysalis except for having green hair and purple eyes. Cousin Moonbeam was Trixie’s daughter. Her horn was gray and had no holes in it, she had cloven hooves, and a cow tail. These special traits came from her minotaur father.
As the twins blew out the birthday candles on their cake, RH was admiring Chaotic’s features. He was black, not too black. Like a changeling black. He had Purple hair with changeling blue swirls. He was a unicorn, his horn had holes in it and so did his hooves and ears. He had swirly eyes that were green. As RH looked at Chaotic, DJ and Caramel were both looking at Identity who was a pegasus. She was pink, with swirly changeling green hair. It had purple swirls. Her wings were changeling wings and her eyes were like Mothball’s. Her legs and ears were as same as her brother’s.
After the candles were blown out, cake eaten, it was time for gifts. The opened up RH’s first. Chaotic got a rainbow sweater, while Identity got a rainbow blanket. DJ made both of them a card. Caramel gave Chaotic a watch, and Identity got a necklace. Fluttershy made them each a personalized photo album. Discord as usual gave them pranking kits that included itching powder, fake spiders, vegetable chocolate, hot pepper mints, trip wire, and whoopie cushions. Twilight’s family gave Chaotic a spell book for young adults, while Identity got a book on every thing you ever wanted to know about wonderbolts. Pinkie Pie’s family gave them a cookbook, a new party cannon, and a clown make-up kit. Rainbow Dash’s family gave them wonderbolt outfits. Rarity gave Chaotic a new tux, and Identity got a fabulous dress. From the apple family came fruit baskets. Aunt Trixie & Moonbeam gave the twins both magic kits. Uncle Zany’s gift came last. Identity got a beauty parlor, while Chaotic got a motorcycle.
After gifts Chaotic was admiring RH. Her coat was white and her hair was rainbow color. She was an alicorn!
“Hi Chaotic.” RH said.
“How are you doing RH?” Chaotic asked.
“Great. Happy birthday too.” RH replied.
“Thanks. You know what? This birthday party brings back a lot of memories of our friends. Especially you.” Chaotic said.
RH giggled. " Like how we first met?”
Chaotic flashed back to that day.
Chaotic sighed and Identity looked down. “See?” Chaotic said. Identity nodded.
“Hey, I saw how Aura treated you. I think it was not very nice.” An un-known voice said. They both looked up and saw a filly about their age standing in front of them.
“Huh? Oh umm, thank you.” Identity said noticing the pony.
“I’m Rainbow Heart, but just call me Rainbow, or R.H.” She said giving them a hoof to shake. They both exchanged looks and gave her their hooves.
“I’m Identity and he is my brother Chaotic.” Identity said getting her hopes up. Chaotic wasn’t speaking, he thought ponies were nice and all but this one, she was amazing. She was not only nice, but pretty.
“Hi, and well, aren’t you scared of us?” Chaotic said.
“What? Scared? Of course not! You guys are so cool! And your eyes are awesome.” She said smiling. The school bell ringed.
“Yea. That was the start of our beautiful friendship.” Chaotic replied. “How about our first kiss?” he asked RH.
Rh looked back to that night.
" Drink it! Drink it!” Moonlight, R.H., D.J, and a light blue pony with orange mane. Her name was Daisy. She was Thunder’s and Apple Blossom daughter. Chaotic was holding with his magic a cup of soda mixed with beer.
“Nooooo.” Chaotic said.
" Chicken!” Moonlight said.
" If you drink it I will kiss you.” R.H. Said. " He will never drink it.” She whispered to Identity. Chaotic blushed at the thought of a first kiss with a mare that’s not even his marefriend. But it was nice the thought of kissing her. Chaotic gathered all of his strength and gave a huge gulp. Without thinking it twice he drank it all. R.H. Gasped and blushed. Identity started giggling and making fun of her friend. Chaotic felt like throwing up. Then he moved his head from side to side and closed his eyes. He gave a huge breath and opened his eyes. He was fine, and he looked at R.H. She just stared at him blushing.
" Oh wait, I have to go! " R.H. Said and ran to the door. It was too late because Identity grabbed her tail.
" Your not going anywhere!” Identity said as she grabbed her older brother and put them both in her room.
" Now do your thing!” Identity said and slammed the door. They both started staring and blushing.
" You told you would kiss me.” Chaotic said and gave an evil smile.
" I thought you weren’t gonna drink it!” R.H. Said still blushing.
" I wasn’t gonna drink it. But when you told me that I wanted.” Chaotic said. R.H. Blushed and smiled. She then threw herself at Chaotic and gave him a huge passionate kiss.
“Hey guys. Dad just put a chocolate fountain if you wa-” Screwball said opening the door and stopped. Not one of them stopped kissing. They kept kissing. “Oops.” Screwball said and giggled. She closed the door and left those two lovebirds alone.

“That was hilarious.” Chaotic laughed. “You didn’t expect me to drink it.”
"It wasn't that funny" RH replied.
Chaotic stopped laughing and said "Maybe so."
"Ya think?" RH said.
"Yeah. You know just from that first day I met you, I thought that you were very pretty. And that time you bargained a kiss, I was very excited. When I found out you liked me, and I gathered the courage to say I felt the same way. We've shared so many memories together, and I want to continue to make many more fabulous memories together."
"What are you trying to say?" RH asked.
Chaotic got down on his knee, pulled a box from behind his back, and said... "Will you marry me?"
RH just stood there her mouth wide open

Sorry it's been a while, but really been busy. I know this chapter is short, but I needed to post another chapter to further the suspense. let me know what you would like to see the story to go. I'm open to any suggestions.
Time for shadow
Shadow was sick and tired of being locked up in the dungeon. She had left her father to be with her mother, but they got in an argument. She wondered if her father even cared.
King Sombra was taken aback by DJ'S question, he was speechless.
"Why do you ask about her?" Sombra roared
"Well I... I... Well she was here last time, and she usually is helping you out. But I haven't heard from her in my whole time of being here. Also you haven't answered my question about why you need a ransom. I'm pretty sure that I am stuck here for a while, so you might as well tell me what's going on."
Sombra sighed. " I guess while we are waiting for the others, I might as well tell you. Shadow went to she her mother who I divorced years ago with. To save you another question, Shadow's mother and my wife, is princess Luna. Shadow went to go see her, but they got into an argument. She now lies in the dungeon. So to get not only my daughter back, but also usual faithful servant, I am putting up a ransom for you and your friends who are considered important to the princesses. And when I've acquired you all I'm going to trade you back in return of Shadow."
"Wow" DJ whispered.
Shadow was pacing back and forth. Somehow she had to get back to her father. On the top of her brain, she would've chosen to run away from her mom and dad. Her mom was worse than her father though. And somehow, deep inside, she knew that her father would take her back. Despite the fact he was a well known villan, crooked in the mind, and somewhat cracked, he would take her back.
Identity was getting ready to leave for the tree of harmony. She had left her brother the note. She told her parents that she was going to see Caramel, and she left.
When she arrived at the tree of harmony, she called to King Sombra to make him aware of her presence. All of a sudden, the ground dropped from beneath her.
Shadow was running like hard. She had escaped by running out on the guard when he brought her evening meal. Then she snuck out of the castle where she overheard a shocked princess Celestia and her mom taking about a ransom from King Sombra. Shadow didn't have much time, but she did hear the part of her father keeping prisoners. She was outraged. Anyway, in the meantime,The guards were chasing her like crazy. With the last of her remaining strength, she ran into the Everfree Forrest.
Identity woke up to a sound she had missed.
"Wake up Ditty." It was DJ.
"DJ! Where are we, what's going on? Identity asked.
"I know this sounds completely crazy but King Sombra is capturing us so he can ransom us for his daughter Shadow. And I know that wasn't much of an explanation so here is what happened."
DJ explained to identity what King Sombra had told him.
In the meanwhile Chaotic, RH, and Caramel found identity's note.

coming and going
Chaotic was outraged. he could't believe that Identity was going to King Sombra. RH was crying.
Caramel piped up "We have to save her.
"I know we have to. She is my sister. And your guys friend." Chaotic replied.
"Why would she go to King Sombra. He is mean and rude. Not to mention, DJ is still missing." RH wailed.
"I don't know. But whatever it is, we have to be careful. If we make the wrong move, we could be captured, or even worse, Ditty might get hurt." Chaotic said to his fiancee.
"Well, what ever is going on, we do need to save her. But to do so, we need a very well organized, and detailed plan." Caramel suggested.
" What are you doing?" Yelled DJ.
"Saving you!" Shadow yelled back.
"What?" DJ replied in panic.
"I'll explain once we're safe." Shadow said.
Shadow ran through the Everfree Forrest looking for somewhere safe. Once they were, DJ said
"What the hay did you just do?"
"I just saved you from my father who is absolutely crazy." Shadow replied firmly.
" What do you mean saved?" DJ questioned.
" It is quite simple. 1st, I escaped from somewhere awful, and happen to hear something about a ransom from my father. 2nd, I have just saved you from his clutches. 3rd, I plan to help save the rest of the other hostages." Shadow spoke.
"Actually, your father is putting us up for
"What!?" Shadow said in surprise and shock.
"It's true. He isn't the type of pony that would show that he cares, but down, deep inside that crazy, cold, and careless heart, he does, for you." DJ explained
Shadow was still in shock. She couldn't believe it. How could it be possible? She had so many questions.
" I know that's its a lot to take in. It's getting late. We should sleep and talk more in the morning." DJ said to Shadow.
Shadow was still in surprise. But she did lay down.... Next to and leaning on DJ. DJ had let her while putting his hoof around her. Together they slept.
"Well, well. King Sombra said. " We gain 3 new victims, and loose one to who knows where. I will save your voice by telling you what is going on. You have been put up for ransom, the one who escaped was your friend DJ, and I have run out of time. Tomorrow I see about the response on my ransom note.
The princesses were reviewing the ransom note.
"What can we do." Cried Celestia. " Shadow escaped, and that is who the ransom note is for."
"We tell him the truth. When his daughter is back, because she is no daughter of mine, we get back our ponies. And I will help to find her only because I want our friend's family back." Luna said emotionless.
"Okay sister" Celestia replied with a sigh. "You know what is going on. And I will follow your lead. Because I respect you."
"Good" said Luna.
They made out a ransom note reply. They told how Shadow had escaped and how Luna would help in trade for the hostages.
King Sombra received the note. He was worried sick. He was so concerned for his daughter. He wrote a response right away.
Dear Princesses,
I am coming right away. The hostages I am bringing also. When we find my daughter, you can have your ponies back. Although DJ has escaped. I will see you on the morrow.
From King Sombra.
He sent the note and prayed that Shadow was alright.
Shadow woke up. There was a bunch of food. Well the best you can in the Everfree Forrest.
"Morning sunshine" DJ happily chirped.
"Where did this all come from?" Shadow questioned.
"Oh I gathered this earlier. Thought it would help to start the day with a full stomach." DJ said.
"Oh. Well I was sort of hungry. And we can talk after breakfast." Shadow replied.

"Okay, now that we have eaten, what are we going to do about my father?" Shadow asked?
"I think we should go to the princesses and explain. That way you can go back to your father, and my friends will be released." DJ answered
"I guess that is the most reasonable thing to do." Shadow agreed.
So they were of to Canterlot. They had covered Shadow up, as so not to raise suspicions.
In the meanwhile Celestia and Luna were waiting for King Sombra. King Sombra was gathering the hostages and preparing to go to Canterlot.
"Why are we going to Canterlot?" Ditty asked.
"To meet with the Princesses" King Sombra replied. "And to save time wasted from questions, we are there to discuss your trade for Shadow. Now, that's enough chitter-chatter, lets get a move on." And so, they were off.

Is this dramatic or what? Although, it does have a pinch of suspense, and a hint of everything else.
I hate to make this so short, but my life is coming first. As well as my other story and all the stories I am helping on, I am very busy.

Sombra along with his hostages rode the friendship express to Canterlot to negotiate the terms of the trade off; Identity, Caramel, Rainbow Heart, and Chaotic sticking close by as to not agitate Sombra. When they got to Canterlot they were met with the princesses and escorted to a negotiation room.
Sombra was the first to speak up "please, Luna, let my daughter go." He pleaded with noticeable concern in his voice. Luna just glared.
"Why should I, this is exactly why we divorced, you never discipline her when she acts out, you just talk, no bite." Luna yelled.
Sombra with anger in his eyes just lost it "LISTEN YOU HEARTLESS WITCH, YOU BETTER RELEASE MY DAUGHTER OR THESE HOSTAGES ARE AS GOOD AS DEAD!" Sombra bellowed with a voice of thunder causing Luna to do the same going into her royal canterlot voice.
" EVEN IF I COULD SHE IS GONE, AND I KNOW YOU'RE ALL BARK AND NO BITE, YOU ARENT GOING TO HURT A SINGLE HAIR ON THOSE HOSTAGES." Luna road back at her ex-husband with a glare in her eyes with Celestia trying to play peacekeeper.
All the hostages could do was stay silent as the princesses and Sombra talked, but it seemed like the worse was to come.
Meanwhile Dj and Shadow began their trek to Canterlot, It was clear that Dj knew how to forage for food and Shadow knew how to sneak around, along the way Dj found wild blackberries and shared them with Shadow, Dj had always had feelings for Shadow, but didn't know how to tell her, so he and her just traveled the way she came and reached Canterlot in about an hour; landing outside of the castle they could hear yelling and bickering with Shadow clearly having second thoughts, but she'd do anything to avoid a war or to protect the one she loves from harm, which is why she freed him first; walking up to the negotiate room Shadow took a deep breath and Dj held her hoof assuring her that he was there for her and they went inside.
Upon entering the room the arguing stopped as Sombra looked at Shadow witg tears in his eyes and approached her. "Oh Shadow, I'm so glad you're ok." Sombra said throwing his hooves around his daughter embracing her in a hug "I love you, Shadow, I know I don't say it often, but I really do." Sombra told her as he hugged her.
Sombra upheld his agreement and so did Luna releasing Shadow to her father, but not before coming clean; she approached her daughter and did something she hadn't done in a long time, she hugged her and said she was sorry and told her she was angry at herself and just took it out on her.
The entire room had made peace with each other and a surprise happened, Dj proposed to Shadow asking for her hoof in marriage to which Shadow agrees, Caramel also proposed to Identity asking for her hoof in marriage to which she happily agrees.
The party returns home to take off where they are left off and attend the wedding of Rainbow Heart and Chaotic, now with two other couples to wed, during which City is thinking back to her mother's words

“YES! YES! YES!” Shouted RH. She jumped into Chaotic s hooves and gave him many slobbering smooches. Every pony else cheered.
“So when are you two getting hitched?” Identity asked.
“How about tomorrow?” Chaotic offered.
“Fine with me” RH said.
With the help of Screwball, Uncle Zany, and Discord the wedding was ready by the next day. Princess Twilight Sparkle
“What do you want?!” a voice cried.
“Come on DJ, I won’t leave you alone. As soon as my plan is in action you will have a lot of company.” another voice said.
“Huh?” DJ wondered.
“All I want is you, your friends, and your families.” the voice said.
“Who are you? Why are you holding me? Why do you want my friends? What did we do to you?” DJ asked while he was panicking.
“So many questions.” the voice chuckled. “Well, lets see. I am King Sombra for starters. You are the bait to capture every pony else. I want your friends for a ransom. And last, but not least, nothing against you and your friends on a personal level. But, you are considered important, you, your friends, as well as all the rest of my victims, to the princesses of equestria.”
“King Sombra! Why do you need a ransom? What happened? And even though this is out of the blue, where is Shadow? I haven’t seen or heard from her yet.
The last part of DJ’s comments caught Sombra off guard.
While every pony was searching for DJ, Identity was in her bedroom crying. She stopped when the phone rang. She thought it was another worried pony asking about DJ. But, when she picked it up, she got an unwelcomed surprise
“King Sombra!” Identity cried. “Why do I have a lot of suspicion that you have something with the disappearance of DJ?” she asked.
“Probably because I kidnapped him. Listen and listen well. If you ever want to see him again, and I mean healthy and alive, not dead and rotten. Leave your brother a note telling him you went to the tree of harmony, and to bring Caramel and RH with him. And one last step, don’t let any other pony find out about this until I’m ready. Until then, no excuses.
He hung up. On the other line, Identity was trying her best not to break down.
