-Story Start-
I spent the next hour trying to figure out how I was going to do this. I mean, I couldn't just walk up and say, "hey, your sisters forcing me to take a date to the Gala and you seemed like the perfect candidate for me." That would sound so fake and make it seem like I'm only taking her out of convenience. In the end I decided to be casual about it and just tell her that I thought she would appreciate the company.
After thinking that over I realized that I should probably help Twilight with her ticket problem, even if it would resolve itself later. I changed into a Gi and exited my house, taking a deep breath of air, and flying towards Ponyville.
Have you ever thought you knew how something would look, and found out it was much more complicated than how you had imagined it? That's how I felt, watching the events of ‘Ticket Master’ play out in real time. Seeing about a hundred ponies chasing Twilight was very different than how it was shown in the show. Ponies were trampling over each other trying to reach her first and get that little ticket. I decided that was enough and swooped down to pick Twilight up, grabbing her and flying up into the sky.
"Best friend! Thanks, Hikari!" She yelled as we ascended. I knew she could fly too, but I liked carrying people and ponies around.
"You know Twilight, if I didn't know any better I would say that you must have done something to cause all this, like showing off a golden ticket perhaps?" I asked with a smirk.
"It wasn't my fault! I didn't know the ticket was so sought after," she said with a pout. She could be so cute sometimes.
"So I've heard, many people want to go just to promote themselves. Though, as we both know, that doesn't work very well. Let's head back to your tree and I will help explain the problem to your friends, ok?" I offered, keeping a smile on my face to cheer her up.
"Ok, but I still wish I could just take all of them," she said.
I flew, still carrying Twilight even though she could fly too, to the tree house and landed near the front door. Opening it and in a gentlemanly fashion letting Twilight in before entering myself and closing it. That's when the lights flickered to life and we saw the other five waiting on Twilight.
"Oh come on, I can't decide, okay? I don't know who to take, you all have your own reasons," Twilight yelled as she held her face.
I stood there waiting at first, but when the apology that was supposed to occur didn't happen, I may have gotten a little angry.
"I would appreciate it if you all apologized to my surrogate sister for what you have all put her through. I don't want to have to make you." My fury leaked out a little bit and that seemed to scare them.
They each apologized profusely, without Dash's outburst as she was scared of what I would do. Then I took a more serious role.
"You know Twilight if you just asked I'm pretty sure 'Tia would provide you with more tickets, enough for all of your friends," I suggested in a gentle, I think, tone.
Her face seemed to light up as she picked up a quill and grabbed a piece of paper. She quickly wrote out a letter and had Spike, who had been standing on the sidelines as he stayed home, send it out. Less then a minute later we had the reply, containing 5 more tickets and a small note for Twilight.
Now the six had their tickets along with Spike, who acted as though he was only going because 'Tia expected him to. I said my goodbyes to them, also telling them that I had my own ticket and that I needed to go see someone.
"Ok Best Big Brother," Twilight said with a smirk, causing me to almost trip on my way out. "You really thought I wouldn't hear you call me your sister?" She added.
Instead of replying I just gave her a smile and flew off. I guess I have a new little sister, having family here might not be so bad...
Pov Change: Twilight
As Hikari flew off, I started to think about what I had just said. It didn't feel right to go along with this, but I knew I probably couldn't change how he saw me. I didn't see him as a brother, but as...
"Come on girls, let's head to my boutique so I can get your measurements. I would like to make your dresses myself," I heard Rarity say behind me.
We all left the tree house except for Spike, who said he needed to do something and that he'd join us later.
Pov Change: Spike
I opened up the menu as the girls left, and opened a chat line with Hikari. I sent him a single message before closing it and headed out the door. Hopefully he would understand what I meant, I was not gonna be any more direct about it.
Pic Change: Hikari
I was heading towards Canterlot as I thought about how to approach Luna with this before I got a message from Spike. I assumed it probably wasn't anything of too much importance, so I decided to check it out later. Instead I continued to fly to my destination, hoping Luna wouldn't mind the surprise visit... or the question I had in mind.
As I was heading to the castle I realized that she might not be awake and about yet, as she was depicted as nocturnal most of the time. I figured that I'd just hang out with 'Tia until she woke if that was true and flew to the entrance of the castle. I made sure that my Dark Light persona was on and marched across to the guards.
"Halt, what is your business with the Princess," the one on the right said.
"I am her personal advisor, here is the sigil." I replied, showing off the medal that 'Tia gave me a while ago so that I could enter the castle without just breaking in.
The guards nodded, recognizing the authority the medal gave me and stepped aside for me to pass. I walked through the corridor to the throne room doors and saw about thirty ponies waiting for a session with 'Tia.
I headedup to the guards and presented the sigil allowing me to pass. I wandered into the throne room and heard a pony giving a very boring speech about politics with a neighboring country. I just made my way to the throne as the pony talking stuttered to a stop.
"Good evening, Princess Celestia, I came as soon as I heard you had sent for me." I said with a bow.
"It is alright Dark Light, you do not have to bow. Guards, could one of you bring a seat for Dark to sit in?" A random gaurd stepped out, "You may continue, Silver Tongue, this is just a terrific friend of mine that I made one of my advisors," she spoke to the pony from before.
Silver nodded and continued, "I believe that we should not associate with the caribou, as they use females as slaves in both labor and more... disgusting acts. I believe we should cut all ties with them and ask our allies to do so as well, in order to force a change in their country by lack of imports and exports," Silver finished.
'Tia seemed to think it over before turning to me, "What do you think of this situation Dark?" All eyes turned to me. Shit.
"I believe that the plan has some merit and that Silver has his heart in the right place, however, if we were to do this then there is a high chance that instead of changing their views on females they will instead lash out at us for instigating it. It could start a war." Everyone blanched at the word war except for me and 'Tia.
"Quite right Dark, this plan has a high risk of retaliation from the caribou race. I am sorry Silver, but I will have to refuse your idea. Please come back if you think of another way," 'Tia gently said to Silver.
His head dropped at first, but 'Tia's comment to come back made him smile and nod as he left.
It was like this for the next fourteen sessions with 'Tia. She asked for my input every once in a while, until number fifteen came strutting in.
'Tia's face hardened, "Fake Love, I thought three months in the dungeon would insinuate to you that I do not like your attempts to woe me." Her voice was very low at this.
I was already annoyed with the way this guy walked, but what 'Tia said about his advances pissed me off.
"Oh come on, baby, I'm sure you'll like it if you let me bend yo-mmmfph?!" My hand was clenched over his mouth. He threw a punch but it was way too slow as I grabbed his wrist in an iron grip.
"My friend has informed me about you, Fake. I suggest you leave before I break you." I said before throwing him across the room towards the door. The guards grabbed him and threw him out. "You," I pointed to a random guard, "make sure the guards at the door know not to let that guy in any more," instead of arguing that I had no authority over them as I expected, the guard just nodded and went to do what I had commanded.
"Thank you for getting him away from me Dark, this is the third time he's tried this," 'Tia lamented.
"It’s fine, Princess, I just took offense to what he was going to say. I must be going now though, Princess Luna should be awake now and I wanted to talk with her as well. Goodbye, my friend." I waved as I went to the corridor off the right wing from the throne room.
I walked down until I came across the dining room where I saw Luna eating what I would assume was her breakfast. I walked in and sat beside her as my disguise fell away. She didn't seem to notice me, although she also looked sluggish.
"You know you should be more aware of your surroundings, Luna, I thought my teachings would help in that regard," she jumped as I said this and turned to me with a pout.
"Would you please not sneak up on me like that, I just woke up. On that note, what do you need? I thought you would be asleep at this hour," She grumbled.
"I don't require too much sleep, and I can change my sleeping schedule if I want. Anyway, you are right that I came to see you for a reason." She seems to perk up at my words, "you see, your sister has decided that I will be going to the Gala and that either I must bring a date or she will choose one for me." Her eyes started to light up.
"You need my help finding a date?" She asked coyly.
"No, I came to ask if you would be my date for the Gala," I proposed, putting on a smile.
Her face held for a bit, it was as if I could see gears clanking in her head. Then her smile turned to surprise as her face flushed. "Y-you want to take me to the Gala?" She murmured curiously.
"Of course, I thought you would appreciate the company, it doesn't hurt that you are beautiful as well," I said, my grin turning into a slight smirk.
Her red cheeks deepened as she spoke, "o-of course, I-I would love to go with you to the Gala." Her beam returned.
"Alright, I'll come by before it starts, though I wouldn't mind staying here tonight and helping with your duties. I already helped 'Tia with her sessions. It was almost fun!" I told her.
"That would be great, although we won't see as many ponies. They don't seem to accept me just yet." Her head lowered at that.
"Hey, hey, don't worry, I'm sure they'll come around soon. They just need to get used to having two gorgeous princesses again," I said, tapping her leg.
"Now let's head to the throne room... after I get some food too."
