Darkness falls

There always was and always will be good and evil. Light and shadow. This is reflected by Celestia and Luna. Each are guardians of the light and of the dark. But ... There are enteties far older then them. Celestia and Luna are just champions of Equestria's oldest forces. I am one of them. I Major Alucard Wesker lord of shadows and the destroyer of worlds. I was banished millenia ago by my rival and brother the white guardian of light Sir Alexander Redfield. Not only was I banished to another relm but sentanced to an eternal sleep. But my children had awoken me. Unintentially but awoken none the less. First my strongest Nightmare Moon had disrupted the cycle of dark and light by giving the night an entire day to reign. Then my eldest Discord created chaos and distorted the very frabric of the universe for a while. But what finally gave me the jolt I needed was my youngest Chrysalis. She absorbed the love of canterlot and proved Celestia's weakness. Night, destruction, and vampirism. The triangle was complete. Now all I had to do was set the dominos in motion.

Twilight Sparkle the element of magic sat contently on a small green hill next to a fairly large oak tree. The night was in full swing. The stars sparkled and the moon was full. All was well. Crickets chriped and a soft wind blew across the hill and medow below ruffling Twilight's fur a bit. It was warm and nice the way a summer wind should feel. But Twilight couldnt help but feel slightly nervous. Princess Luna had asked her to come here. Away from prying eyes. Twilight thought about the week wondering if she had done something to irk the Princess of the Night. Drawing a blank Twilight waited for another five minutes until a shadow fell over her. She grew a bit more nervous as Luna landed with a dulled thud on the grass.

"Ah Princess Luna .. So glad to see you."

"Greeting Twilight Sparkle. We have called thee because we feel a bit ... how do you ponies say it these days? ... on edge. For some reason. So we thought to visit our first friend to see if that would help."

Twilight looked at the Princess for a moment wondering what could have upset the princess but shrugged it off so she could focus on the problem at hoof.

"So you are looking to see if we could do something to take your mind off of whatever is disturbing you?"

"Exactly."

"Hmm ... I usually read a book to take my mind off of things. But if you wish I could bring you back to ponyville and we can do something there. I have a chess board."

Luna thought for a moment. "It has been a long time so we may be a bit ... rusty?"

Twilight nodded approval at the modern term. "Its ok Princess. I will go easy on you."

Both smiled and began to trot back to Ponyville. They talked along the way about random things such as how eathother was doing and the current state of their residence. Soon enough however Twilight made her way to the door and unlocked it letting herself and the Princess inside.

"You will have to be quiet, Spike is asleep." Twilight giggled. "So no royal canterlot voice."

Luna maimed a pout. "Aww."

Twilight surpressed her laughter as she brought out a glass chess set and placed it on the table setting up the pieces.

"How wonderious. We would like to inquire. What are the pieces made from?"

"Black is obsidian and white is marble. The board itself is glass."

"How wonderious."

"Now are we going to oogle at the board or are we going to find out who the best chess player in Equestria is?"

"How do you say it these days? ...... Thyne challange has been accepted."

Twilight laughed. "No Princess its 'Challange accepted'."

"Oh."

Twilight smiled and moved a pawn forward. Luna did the same. Twilight sent in another pawn for backup and Luna mirrored her.

"So what exactly HAS been bothering you?"

Twilight released her Queen and Luna sent a pawn to guard hers.

"Nothing really. Just some familiar dark energy rising."

Twilight put out her bishop. "Nightmare Moon?"

"No its diffrent from her."

"Interesting .. oh by the way checkmate."

"EH!?" Luna's jaw dropped as she realized Twilight just pulled four move checkmate on her.

Twilight fell to the ground giggling. "You should have seen your face! Priceless!"

Twilight heard a moan upstairs and quieted down. She had forgotten about Spike. Luna sighed in defeat.

"Thou hast bested us Twilight Sparkle .... again. Perhaps we can do this again. Do you have a book we can borrow?"

"What are you looking for?"

"We are curious as to what went on in our absance and desire knowlage."

Twilight nodded and went over to one of her shelves and pulled out a book labled 'Equestrian History'. Luna thanked her and flew off a small smile on her face. Twilight turned and accidentally grazed an outsticking book with her horn. It fell to the wood with a thud. Twilight saw the cover that read Necroponycon. The cover was laced with gold and lether. On the cover was a gold star in a circle. Also on the cover was a lock. Twilight was stumped as to what key could fit in it and what lay inside the dusty black book. But the question answered itself really. Where the book had landed a floor board was lifted a bit. Twilight felt herself drawn to it. She lifted the plank up and saw the same symbol in the earth below. Twilight dug a bit and found a red box. She opened the clasps and found a key inside. It had the Yin symbol on it.

"This CANT be that easy can it?"

It was. She slid the key in and the lock poped open. The room suddently felt colder and Twilight placed the book down and lit her fireplace. Twilight picked the book back up and read.

'Darkness ... bla bla bla ... Chaos and destruction .... cotton candy clouds? ...... bla bla bla ..... Succubi? ...... Changelings ................. unholy tiangle?'

Twilight flipped to the last page and saw a spell. That read 'Paradise Rift Summon'. But something about it looked wrong. Twilight felt an old spell on it. But she really didnt care much because it didnt feel threatening and her curiosity was peaking. Twilight put the book down looking at the time. It was almost midnight so she decided to lock the book and take it to her room as she beded down for the night. The next day she was having lunch with her friends.

"Ok guys I have something to tell you."

"You're finally comming out of the closet?"

"Ah ought to smack yah Rainbow Dash."

"Oh calm down AppleJack it was just a joke."

"Both of you enough! This is serious buisness. I found a book yesterday that looks suspicious. Inside was a spell that read 'Paradise Rift Summon'."

"What in tarnation could that mean?"

"S-suspicious?"

"I say go for it!"

"Now Rainbow darling we dont know what it could do. Im with Fluttershy on this."

"Oh! Paradise!" Pinkie was hopping up and down. "Like SuperAwesomeCupcakeLandParadise!Or! WonderfulTeatsLand!Or!"

Raindow Dash put a hoof in Pinkie's mouth to stop her talking.

"I say we do it. If anything bad happens we ARE the elements of harmony."

Twilight looked down. "Good point. The book said the best time to do it was dusk. So we really cant go wrong here. Ok! Meet me at the librairy at eight!"

Twilight trotted off happily. Later at dusk Her and her friends gathered around the book. Twilight flipped to the page and started reading. It was a different language she was unfamiliar with but none the less persued.

"Höre mich große Herr der Schatten! Deine Knechte rufen noch einmal zu Ihrem chilling touch und kalte Umarmung acht! Die Welt gehört dir noch einmal! Hades Losen Ihren Halt auf dem großen! Mögen seine presance noch einmal bekannt sein! Glorious Zerstörung und Finsternis beherzigen Sie uns! Nehmen Sie bilden noch einmal und steigen wieder!"

The book emitted a dark energy and shot out of Twilight's hooves and into the basement. The six took off after it. Soon it came to a halt on the floor and opened to the center of the book. The pentagram across both pages glowed and a black orb slowly lifted up. It then exploded and a void was left behind. Inside the slice in space and time was a black garden and a single pony. His fur was a dulled grey. The mane and tail that had once been black and red had lost their original color and where sweped back in the style of fire. His hoof guards where like Luna's only red with a circle of gold on each. He wore a blood red cape and his draconic wings where folded and looked like they hadn't been used in a LONG time. The void itself was powerful despite been have sealed hundreds no thousands of years ago. It was as if the elements of harmony themselves couldnt have even created this seal. Then the creature inside sturred.

Canterlot,

Luna had just gotten up and greeted her sister to lower the sun so the moon could rise. But then a cold feeling struck her before a tidal wave of negative emotions and an icy cold feeling enveloped her. She fell to the ground shivering and sweating.  Celestia immediatly bent to help her up.

"Luna!? Whats wrong!?"

"H-him!"

"Him who!?"

"Father."

At that moment my slitted crimson eyes opened.
