Canterlot, Equestria. Eight Hundred years before the Return of Luna

The Court was abuzz with the chatter of ponies, both noble and commoner. They were gathered here for a Trial, one that was to be headed by the beloved Princess Celestia herself. This trial had been one that had tongues wagging all cross the land for in the first time since the very founding of Equestria, a pony had murdered and/or attempted to murder other ponies. It was unheard of in this day and age for Murder to happen in Equestria it self, but now it had happen and one Pony had done the unthinkable.

Celestia herself was sitting on her throne, her magic holding a bunch of papers that were all about the crimes this one pony had done.

Jade Minerkin was a young unicorn stallion, 23 winters old. He had a green coat with a blue mane with a very odd Cutie Mark: a Unicorn head with a bunch of Numbers below it which read 'FU666'. He lived in the city of Vanhoofer. He was generally described as a loner, not going out unless it was for a trip to the market. He had no known job but somehow had bits to buy things.

But yet he was known to be something of a gripe, a rabble-rosier who called on ponies to reject friendship and reject the rule of Princess Celestia. He was known for calling friendship 'evil', 'useless' and 'a failure', Even claiming that Celestia did not move the sun and was a fraud. To ponies, that was nothing more then libel, blasphemy and down-right stupidity. It had become such a daily thing that many ignored his rantings.

Then came the day of the Murder.

The Milk Mare had found the two victims when delivering milk to the home of one Corn Miller and his wife, Blue Star. The two had been beaten up with a blunt object and cut with something sharp. Corn Miller was already dead but his wife was barely alive. He had not only been beaten and cut, but also brutally raped. Before her Death, she had said who it was who attacked them: Jade Minerkin.

Soon the local police found a third victim: the couple's ten month old foal. Its head had been ripped off and on the walls of the room it was found in was a message. Friendship is Failure.

Soon the hunt was on for Jade Minerkin and it soon ended with him in Canterlot, killing and torturing ponies, declaring war on Friendship and on Celestia herself. It took ten Guards to subdue him. There were originally 50 going against him.

He seemed to have enjoyed his attack, even proclaiming that he loved to torture all the ponies for their 'friendship' ideals and being happy. He had to be bounded in Anti-Magic chains to make sure he would never escape.

Now he was going to be on trial for his crimes.

"Bring the criminal in." she said, calmly, her eyes half closed..

The double doors opened and the sound of chains rattling came. Everypony looked and saw the one who was behind the crimes: Jade Minerkin.

The stallion looked disheveled his mane a mess coat messy with dirt. On his horn was a Anti-Magic Ring, which made sure he did not try to use his magic. Even with his looks, his eyes had that look of hate and evil on them. This was no pony, but a monster of hate, more hate then even the dreaded Nightmare Moon had. Many of the ponies turned their heads away from him, whispering among themselves.

"Monster!"

"Rapist!"

"Foal Killer!"

"Monster!"

"HEY! THAT GUY SAID 'MONSTER' TWICE!" one odd looking Earth pony yelled at the Unicorn who yelled 'monster twice.

Jade Minerkin heard all those words and grinned. It was a grin of a mad pony, a pony who could even make Sombra shiver in terror. An aura of darkness seemed to radiate out of him like the smell of a plague victim. Everypony in the room could tell that there was something wrong with this pony.

Something horribly wrong.

"Jade Minerkin!" Celestia exclaimed as he was lead to the podium. "You have been charged with Multiple counts of Murder, Torture, Sexual Assault, Attempted Murder and High Treason against Equestria and all the ponies of Equestria. If this was any other kingdom on Epona, you would have been executed for your crimes, but Equestria has rejected the Death Penalty.."

"BECAUSE YOU ARE STUPID YOU WHORE!!!!!!"

The crowd gasped in shock, as Jade Minerkin now glared at Celestia, herself shocked as the words that were said had come from him.

"You are weak and stupid! You know you can't stop My Truth from destroying your rule and that all the ponies live in LIES! Friendship will not pay the bills or get you jobs or even save you, only the Belief in Might will win! FRIENDSHIP WILL DIE!"

Soon everyone as up in arms, throwing things at Jade Minerkin, who was not stopping with his rant.

"You think that your stupid 'Harmony' will stop my truth, YOU ARE WRONG! The Power of Believing will crush Friendship and crush you and Crush this stupid Nation! I REJECT YOU ALL!"

"ENOUGH!!!!!!" Celestia finally yelled, sickened by the ravings of Jade Minerkin, her power flaring like the sun she controled. "Mr Minerkin, You have shown yourself as a vile monster! You are worse then any monster I have ever faced, even TRIEK was more civilized then you! Murdering foals? Raping young mares? Declaring war on your own kind? That shows nothing but evil, that that is what you believe in!"

Celestia glared even more. "I and all of Equestria and all the world finds you Guilty of all Crimes! No one can forgive a monster like you! Therefore I will Banish you and your hate from Equestria for all Time!"

It was then that suddenly Jade Minerkin's head shot up and he looked right at Celestia, eyes full of hate and madness. "I don't think so, Bitch!" He yelled as he suddenly charged at her, or at least tried to as the chains were holding him down. But he was not one to have something like reason try to stop him as in his mind, he was going to kill Celestia and end the idea of Friendship. He was soon starting to try and charge up his horn, magic glowing, but being blocked by the Anti-Magic Ring on his horn.

Something that no sane unicorn would try to do.

It was then that a blast of light came from where he was and the down of an explosion sounded throughout the room. Everyone was blinded by the light. When it died down, everyone looked at where Jade Minerkin was and to their horror and to his, saw what had happened.

The Magical blast was from his horn being blown to bits. The Magical feed back was to much and now nothing was left but a stump.

This soon snapped what ever was left of Jade Minerkin's Sanity.

"hheheheheh----HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

The laughing was demonic, insane, the very sound of a pony who was now out of his mind.

Celestia was now looking down at the crazed pony. She had felt his magic and had felt something odd. the magic that he had was more powerful then anything she had ever encountered save for two other beings: Herself and her exiled sister. the Power was that of an Alicorn awaiting to be awakened. But yet this power was tainted, madness and evil had made it dark, darker then Sombra's or Nightmare Moon's magic. This Pony, if allowed to be in this reality would be too dangerous to be allowed to live.

Celestia soon knew only one thing: he had to be banished from the Universe before he could even become an Alicorn.

Her horn started glowing as she soon started passing her Judgement.

"Jade Minerkin! You have shown that you are too dangerous to even be allowed to walk on this world or any world in Reality. Therefore I have only one choice: You will be banished into The SHADOW REALM!"

Everypony gasped. Being sent to the Shadow Realm was unheard of, no pony had been sent to the Shadow Realm, a place of darkness and evil where it was said that only the most evil were sent. This was in fact to be the first time in known Pony History that anypony would be sent to that place.

and Jade Minerkin was going to be blasted to that place.

But yet Jade Minerkin seemed not to care as he soon shot his head back up and glared at all of them. "Fools!" He yelled, "Stupid and weak fools! My Power of Believing is more powerful then your Magic of Friendship! I will not be cowed by the false Ideas of Friendship and Harmony! Those I reject as I Reject my Name! Even as You Banish me to the Shadows, I will take on a new name! One used by one of the most dreaded Warlords ever! I will forever be known as MAICANUS!"

"BEGONE!" was the last thing the newly christened Maicanus heard as he was struck by the power of Celestia and sent into shadow for all time.

This is how it starts.
