Among the Living Once Again
Prologue: The Undersea Chamber

Nearly fifty meters below in the dark blue ocean north of the Changeling lands,an ancient chamber long forgotten to the beings of Equestria sits undisturbed. Inside this small cramped chamber a large red ruby crystal, and what appears to be a crumbling stone chest lay. Both are nearly untouched by time. Inside this strange crystal lays a human frozen in time. The human's expression seemed peaceful. The human appears to be a man of average height at around six feet.He has short blonde hair and green eyes. His face and figure very masculine with toned muscles. He looked somewhat rugged, with his blond beard, sorta like a mountain man.
Who is he? Why is he here? What led him to this fate long ago?
Forgotten and now lost in time, only this human himself knew. No books were written about him. There was no mention of him in any history books, even inside some of Equestria's greatest libraries.
Low and behold these questions will soon be answered as a strange energy begins to build around the crystal. It soon shines, blinking over and over. The room shaking now as dust and grim stir up inside this nearly barren room. The crystal now dims, the ruby red color now faded from it original state.
Without warning a fist soon bursts out of the crystal with great force. A deep breath could be heard from the man, as he begins to break more of the crystal around him. The shards now land on the bottom of the cobblestone floor. With him creating enough space to get out. Letting himself down onto the floor softly. He tried not shred his feet from the bit of sharp crystal on the floor. Looking around the chamber with a bittersweet smile he finely opens his mouth after the 30,000 year hiatus.
"Once again I breath among the living. But why?" He says in a soft calm voice. As a blue crystal above begins to shine lighting up the room.
Looking over at the cobblestone chest a frown forms by his lips as his eyes blink. This chest looked to have decayed a bit. The chamber he stood also appeared to be in the same state of ruin as the chest. The air in the room was stale and the temperature frigid causing him to shiver. He soon looked down at himself noticing he was in his birthday suit, but wasn't surprised in the least. Walking over to the chest, he now rummaged through it. Gathering a grey pair of pants, a grey shirt, and finally a pair of black socks. Looking back down at the chest he smiled deeply and lowered his hands once again to grasp something cold and heavy. A gift, he was left, from what it seems.
"This piece of armor, still hasn't shown any sign of aging. They really did gift me something magnificent." He said.
Looking back down into the chest he noticed the rest of his suit of armor. It was still tucked away neatly, covered in layers of wax looking paper. Holding the chest plate up to the blue light, he looked at the emblem in the middle. Its illustration was of a very elaborate alicorn standing on a stone in a stoic position. The plate-mail was made of a rare magical silver element, which protected him from most magical and physical attacks alike. Putting it back down into the chest with the other pieces of armor, his face a bit jaded.
"So I wonder just how long has it been? A 1000 years? 3000 years? Definitely too long which worries me."
Pondering on what he should do next he realized something. One idea was to start revitalizing his energy, nearly on empty, his power was low. Channeling magic into his system again wouldn't take too long. Being given the gift of magic long ago by the alicorns of old who he served with unyielding loyalty. Their training was brutal but worth it, he became a very powerful magical being later on when things started to get complicated. Getting into a sitting position he proceeds to meditate for the next thirty minutes. With his energy now coming back to him he feels himself once again. Still ,not even close to 100%.
Standing up he heads back over to the chest and begins to put on the armor, that he was inspecting not long ago. After putting the armor on he looked like an old medieval knight from the dark ages. With a large full metal tower shield showing the outline of the Equestrian continent at his side along with a short sword. All the items were imbued with magic of some sort as each item seems to shine unnaturally bright. Maybe it was his magic powering up the items.
"I presume I'll need this faithful set of armor, when going back out into this world. So much has probably changed."
Looking around he sighs a bit.
"Now where is that return crystal, I know it has to be here somewhere!" Looking around with anticipation he soon finds what he is looking for. A pink crystal at the base of the once great red crystal, laid untouched.
"There it is, right in front of me, with a little magic it should start right up, I have everything I need from here so let's get a move on."
Holding out his hand he begins to focus, as his body begins to shake. A strange faint blue aura forms around his body. The color of the aura began to darken as he focuses. With his holstered sword on his left, and the tower shield on his back. His kit alone had to weight an absurd fifty kilograms. Luckily for him he used his magic to help assist his body when operating in such a heavy suit of armor, he was not new to using magic. He was around the age of twenty-five when he was first taught the art form of magic. This was shortly after, when he was summoned here to Equestria by accident. He looks to be roughly thirty- five years old now. Almost finished with his gathering of magic, he utters out some last words.
"My first goal will to find any alicorn relatives of the once powerful race I served. Once that is done, I shall offer them my aid in any way I can."
"Me awakening must mean a grave danger looms over the alicorn relatives, or maybe over the whole land."
"But why now?" He said once again with worry upon his face.
With his last bit of monologue the man begins to funnel the energy towards the pink crystal. Now he begins to fade out of the room that held him. He was a walking relic lost in time. Now a man out of time, not from this world and the only human. He surely does have his work cut out for him. Up north in the dangerous changeling lands. He materializes near a cliff edge on the remote northernmost coast of these lands. The small pink crystal held in the room with another that was poking out a rock near him both scattered. They let out a loud sound, breaking the eerie silence.
Standing alone, with the harsh winds of the ocean blowing past him he smiles ready to undertake and fulfill his promise he made long ago. He looked like a gleaming beacon of hope standing out with obnoxious shining armor, with a smile that could kill. Little would he know he would have a tough time ahead of him. He was in the changeling lands. A place no fool would ever venture into. He stood looking upon what looked to be a wasteland as far as one could see.
Little would he know he was in much more danger then he could ever imagine. A patrol of changeling scouts alerted to a stranger presence were now dispatched to his location. Several of the hive queens felt a magical disturbance, probably from the pink crystal exploding.
Author's Note
[WARNING! The first few chapters need some serious editing work. They will be slowly swept through as time goes on. Edit Date -> 11/13/2018]
Hello, and thank you for reading the start of my first attempt at a story. I hope to continue with many chapters. Will he be a hero? A lazy bum? Caught between Equestria's on going struggles. Who knows. I hope to fill the story with character development, romance, and much more.
His name won't be revealed until he makes contact with a major character. He won't be a push over due to his ability with magic and with his slightly overpowered items, but remember he is still a human. Who are known to be frail in Magical Pony Land.
Let's just hope he doesn't get caught by the Changelings too early tho :P.
