S.T.A.L.K.E.R Call of the Zone
Author's Note
It is recommended that you have at least some knowledge of the S.t.a.l.k.e.r game series before you read this, it is not entirely necessary, but just recommended. Also if you've never played the games before, what are you doing here? Go play them and experience the wonder of Ukrainian Cheeki Breeki.
In all seriousness, the game series is wonderful and if you're a hardcore gamer it's one you really should not pass up.
Also most of the beginning time line is taken from the S.t.a.l.k.e.r fan wiki, so go check them out if you want to know about half of this stuff if you don't know.
Prologue
Begin Scientific recount of current and past events of the Chernobyl disaster and Zone Phenomenon.
1960's
The Institute of Crop Selection and Genetics is instated as a Soviet cover for consciousness control, human experiments and Noosphere experiments.
1986, April 26
At around 1:23 in the morning, reactor number four of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant explodes, releasing dangerous radioactive materials over a widespread area, and forcing the evacuation of the nearby city of Pripyat and other settlements. This event is known as the Chernobyl Disaster.
After the accident, groups of workers called 'Liquidators' are hired by the Soviet Union to build a containment building around the remnants of the Reactor 4. It was later nicknamed the Sarcophagus.
The Institute of Crop Selection and Genetics is shut down.
1987-1989
The Agroprom Research Institute is re-established with a vehicle factory being set up in the vicinity of it to build vehicles fitted for removing and treating irradiated soil.
1989
The C-Consciousness Project begins, led by rogue scientists from The Institute of Crop Selection and Genetics, later being known as 'The Group'. The presence of numerous high powered antennae in the area, coupled with a functioning nuclear power plant and the lack of people present the perfect setting for for clandestine research into fixing humanity's flaws.
December 26th, 1991
The Soviet Union finally collapses. Several republics break away from the USSR, declaring independence, many projects are discontinued, in particular funding for Soviet military labs in the Zone. However, several project leaders are unwilling to stop their research and continue their research into the Noosphere. The Ukrainian government is unable to control the situation, in part due to fear of international sanctions.
Sidorovich enters The Zone.
March 6th, 1998
Engineers working for a local contractor claim that six field Generators were built deep in the center of the Zone. Speculation abounds as to their purpose, with some suggesting they are used for some bizarre psychic tests
Strelok enters The Zone
February 22nd, 1999
Concerned by unsettling reports about illegal experiments carried out in the Zone, the Ukrainian government performs an official investigation. After examining accounts and intelligence service reports about the tests held in the underground complexes, the state security service made an attempt to take control of the situation by sending a special commission into the Zone. Reports uncover disturbing memos by one O.O.Dobrynin.
2001
The Zone begins to attract attention. Rumors about strange phenomena within c.a. 10 km radius of the NPP abound, the city of Pripyat is often mentioned as a hot spot for sightings of unusual phenomena and strange creatures. After a bus full of foreign tourists disappears the authorities seal off the Zone completely.
2003
The Agroprom Institute begins working for the Group under the lead of Petr Strizh.
2004
The top secret electromagnetic rifle project at Jupiter factory is cancelled.
2005
Unnatural forces within the Zone begin to have an influence over a wider area. Significant changes in weather patterns are noted, including hurricane winds and tremors.
March 4th, 2006
Blinding light illuminates the sky high above the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. The incident lasted two full hours before subsiding, with witnesses reporting it disappeared as if power suddenly failed.
April 12th, 14:33 +2 GMT, 2006
Just over a month later, the skies are once again lit by intolerably bright light. The clouds evaporated from the sky, followed by a tremendous thunder crash, lasting far longer than normal. After the thunder faded away, there was an ominous silence, followed by a 6.9 Richter earthquake. The glow in the sky continued, spreading over the entire region, while deadly energy disturbances raged through the Zone, making any rescue effort impossible. Subsequent investigation turned up the fact, that the center of the explosion was a kilometer away from the nuclear plant itself, evidently the nuclear fuel dump going up.
June 10th, 2006
The Zone abruptly grows five kilometers bigger after an emission which came to be known as the "Second Disaster". The zone today manifested, with the very laws of science being defied. Most of the military securing the perimeter perished, together with laboratories and their crews.
Panic-stricken people from nearby villages were evacuated.
2007
Guide enters The Zone.
September 28th, 2009
A group of Kiev scientists succeeds in creating a special device for detecting anomalous activity at a distance of up to 10 meters. That winter, an expedition in protective suits and with detectors manages to penetrate the Zone 1 km deep and returned without incident or injury.
August 17th, 2010
Expeditions further penetrate the Zone, one locates an abandoned camp of the first "STALKER". They also locate first artifacts and observe the emergence of first blowouts.
2011
With news of the possibility to survive in the Zone leaked, amateur researchers, marauders and poachers begin to make their way into the zone, soon becoming known as STALKERS, seeking artifacts in the dangerous environments. At first ignoring them, the government is soon forced to re-evaluate their policies, as artifacts make their way into private hands.
According to one of the STALKERS in Yantar one of his friends encountered some zombies who muttered what sounded like English, presumably remnants of a foreign tour group that disappeared in the Zone ten years earlier.
February 4th, 2011
The government retaliates against illegal stalkers, during this campaign over 70 are arrested and ten trading posts closed down.
Early September, 2011
The Second Emission takes place as the Common Consciousness unleashes a massive blowout in order to destroy Strelok, Fang and Ghost as they retreat from the NPP.
Faction Wars start when stalkers begin to fight to redefine spheres of influence in The Zone.
September 10, 6:20 +2 GMT, 2011
Clear Sky Begins - Scar wakes up in the Clear Sky camp after being caught in the aforementioned blowout.
October 25th, 2011
Inevitably, a skirmish takes place between a military patrol and a stalker group. Both sides suffer serious casualties, the army is authorized to shoot stalkers on sight.
January 17th 6:33 +2 GMT, 2012
A Third massive blowout strikes reaching all the way to the military Cordon.
January 17th 11:46 +2 GMT, 2012
A group of strange equine like creatures are spotted by Military personal at the Cordon and an attempt at capture on this new type of mutant was made.
January 17th 11:53 +2 GMT, 2012
Attempt at capture resulted in one of the creatures being captured and the other creature having reportedly ran off further into The Zone and STALKER territory after being fired on by one Lieutenant Blascovich.
Military personal cease pursuit of the creature after a patrol is killed by a group of STALKERS.
End Scientific recount of current and past events of the Chernobyl disaster and Zone Phenomenon.
Note from Professor Vladimir Stratus -
I would recommend further investigation into the appearance of these new creatures, as reports from Soldiers who took part in the pursuit and were not killed reported the creatures throwing small rocks and other such things at them with some sort of telekinetic power, though no actual harmful assault on Military Personal was made. This is a rather unusual occurrence from creatures of the Zone as most seem to insanely throw themselves at whatever makes itself known to them aside from the Blind Dogs of course, and even then their intelligence is debatable.
Soldiers also reported the creatures speaking in almost musical and panicked tones, though none of them were close enough to understand what was being said this does represent a larger than usual amount of intelligence. I would recommend capture of these creatures being an absolute goal before some idiot STALKER shoots them dead for looking at him funny or something.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R Call of the Zone
Rostik Gestav was highly known in the Zone as a highly experienced S.t.a.l.k.e.r who had been in the zone for around two years. He had seen almost everything the Zone had to offer and was pretty much impossible to surprise anymore. Though what he had just stumbled across was probably the most shocking thing he'd ever seen in his years in the Zone. Just ahead of him on the ground, bleeding was a brightly colored horse-unicorn thing with a pair of bright wings sprouting out of it's back.
Rostik was frankly amazed, he'd never seen anything like this in the Zone before, no mutant or anything of the such. It felt almost unreal just looking at the creature , because instead of the gnarly twisted appearance of most of the Zones mutants and abominations this creatures alabaster coat and multi-colored mane just seemed too natural and beautiful to be born from the Zone or the areas around it.
He watched and examined the area slightly checking to see if it was a trap, and some bandit or military kill-team would jump out of the bushes and gun him down. Though it turned out his paranoia was unfounded as the area was completely deserted aside from himself, the unicorn-horse-mutant-thing and a springboard anomaly he spotted around twelve meters away to the side. Once he was confident it was completely clear, he slowly walked out of the foliage he was taking cover in and raised his FN F2000 that he had acquired off of one of the crazed nut-jobs that made up the Monolith that had tried to ambush him during one of his trips to the center of the Zone.
He slowly approached the creature all the while training his gun on it and his surroundings, months of living in the Zone having ingrained a deep sense of constant paranoia in his brain and reflexes. One he got within a few feet of the creature he got down on one knee and checked it's pulse, discovering it had a faint, but quickly fading pulse. At that moment something inside of him determined that he wouldn't let this creature die, something about it just made made him think that it would be sad and pointless for it to die alone in a dark cold path of trees when he had a perfect chance to save it. After a moments more examination he identified anything that the creature could use to attack him with, such as natural body parts. One of the most prominent things being the dangerous looking horn coming off of the things head, which he promptly covered in the only thing he really had available being his spare overcoat for harsh weather, and some duct-tape just in case the thing had some sort of crazy Psy powers that could tear him in half with just a thought. It was impossible to be too careful in the Zone.
After doing his best to make sure the thing couldn't impale him once it wakes up he took a Kolobok off of his belt and held it close to the most major of the it's wounds, watching them slowly stitch themselves back together, pushing shrapnel and grime out of the wounds as they finish closing leaving a healed, if rather dirty coat. After that he places the Artifact back on his belt and removes another artifact nicknamed by STALKERS 'Mama's Beads'. He holds it near the creatures wounds causing any infection to slowly disappear and any left over bleeding to slowly stop. After he was confident that the creature would live he took one final artifact off of his belt, this one was called a Jellyfish by STALKERS and was known for it's ability to drain and heal radiation poisoning. He held it close to the creature absorbing any left over and current radiation that was left behind from the other two healing artifacts.
After checking the creatures - who he had now identified as a her due to a rather embarrassing accident he felt rather confident that she would live, so he picked her up in a fireman carry and started walking towards his nearest safe house, of which he had many in the Zone, as after all. One can never be too careful or paranoid in the Zone.
Normally carrying something of her weight and size would be rather difficult for a normal man, but due to an artifact called a Gravi that he never left took off of his belt and an experimental Exo-suit he had managed to get off of the Ecologists in return for some dangerous work it was as easy as lifting a large fuzzy pillow.
Luna awoke feeling cold. As she slowly lifted her eyelids and started at her surroundings she realized in horror that she was strapped down to some sort of bed surrounded by several tall bi-pedal creatures that seemed to be dressed up in some sort of suit while they moved around her talking in a strange language and huddling around monitors that were connected to long wires...that were connected to her.
As she noticed this she started to panic and flail about on the tail, causing several of the creatures to let out crys of alarm and making one of them slam a hand on a large button on the side of a wall. Within moments a large door on the side of the room swung open and several other creatures ran in holding thick lead batons and small boxy things.

On seeing this she instantly held still, recognizing the similarity between the creatures and the weapons they wielded and the ones that had injured her sister. As soon as she started thinking of her sister she started to despair, her last sighting of Celestia was her sister running and crying in pain all the while loud bangs and blood followed her.
'No...I shouldn't think about that right now. I AM THE RULER OF THE NIGHT AND THESE CREATURES KNOW NOT WHO THEY TRIFLE WITH!' She thought to herself, a small measure of confidence returning to her as she used her pitiful magic reserves to un-clip the latches holding her to the table while the creatures were distracted. As soon as her horn lit up a large alarm went off inside of the room she was in, and something administered a strong and heavy shock to her horn instantly disrupting her concentration and causing her to wail and scream in pain.
"W-What are you foul beasts and what do you w-want with me...?" She asked hopelessness sounding out in her voice as she assumed she was trying to plead with an insane long lost tribe of diamond dogs.
As soon as she spoke one of the creatures in the strange suits whipped around and stared at her.

"You...speak? English? Da....it appears you do...that was a rather pointless question then....Well this changes everything," the thing says in a highly accented voice, excitement clearly radiating off of it's body.
"I know not what this 'English' is. I speak Equish the same of my sister and my subjects and I demand to be released this instants so that I might return to them foul creature!" Luna shouted rage burning in her eyes.
The creature merely chuckled and pulled up a chair sitting down next to her.
"I am afraid we cannot do that at this moment my equine friend. You see you're appearance is something never before recorded in the Zone or anywhere else in the world. Now that we know you are Sapient I admit we can be kinder with out treatment. Though I would ask you refrain from using your Psy or Telekinetic powers around us as most of the men here have had bad experiences with mutants and creatures possessing those particular abilities," The creature says, sounding slightly sympathetic to her.
"You creatures hath abducted our self and injured our sister! You hath gone far beyond being kind or anything similar! There is no reason we should even tolerate your presence! Give us one reason why we should not annihilate you and destroy this pathetic building!" Luna shouted in rage, though in all honesty she doubted she could even throw a rock with her magic in the state she was in.
"Because one you are in no condition to do so my friend, and two this building was made to contain Psy powers and creatures such as yourself. I sincerely hope our next conversation can go better, as I truly wish you no ill will and for what it is worth I am sorry for the shock that was administered to you. Though a little paranoia on our point I feel was justified considered some of the other creatures that have been housed in this building." The creature responds to her seemingly genuinely regretful.
"I can at least offer you this before I go my equine friend. My name is Professor Vladimir Stratus and I wish you would share your own name, so at least next time we meet it may be more pleasant. As again I truly do wish you no harm or ill will."
Luna remained silent for a minute as if considered something before saying and saying. "Our name is Princess Luna, Ruler of the night and diarch of the Nation of Equestia,"
Professor Vladimir Stratus nods at her and writes something down on a clipboard she had just noticed him holding before standing up and walking out of the door. Though he did stop in the door frame and say "I truly hope you have a good rest my friend, as I will have a number of questions for you in the morning. And now that we know you are sapient you will be provided with more comfortable living quarters."
Luna doesn't respond and simply lays her head back against table she was currently strapped down on, allowing the sweet embrace of sleep to take her.
Author's Note
Whoo-hoo third chapter. Things are going to start happening soon I promise my friends! And if anyone is curious the inspiration for this story came to me while I was eating a little cheeki, drinking a little breeki, and I finally decided to go full iv Damke.
In all seriousness I love STALKER and MLP and this idea had been on my mind for quite awhile before I decided to write this out.
Also I am aware that Luna switches in between Yee old English and modern English. This was done on purpose to simulate anger and stress levels raising as she switches in and out of the different dialects.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R Call of the Zone
Celestia slowly opened her eyes blinking slightly and turning her head as a bright ray of sunlight is shining directly into her eyes. She yawns and turns over on her side, vision still blurry as she blinks the rest of the drowsiness out of her eyes.
'Thank Faust, it was all just a bad dream how silly of me to think it was real. Though it was quite scary now that I think about, oh well it should be time for morning court soon, so I should really get up.'
She smiles to herself content in her answer to the events of the previous night and fully opens her eyes, standing up. In a matter of seconds her false reality is shattered as she sees another of the tall bi-peds sitting in a corner, starting at her with it's unblinking eyes. The cruel looking armor it wears and the death stick leaning against the side of the wall. As soon as she lays eyes on it she starts shaking in terror quickly trying to spot an exit to the room she was trapped in, seeing the only one was blocked by the creature as it continued to watch her.
Seeing no chance at escape Celestia collapses to the ground shaking in fear as she realizes she is most likely going to go. She is most likely never going to see her star pupil , her sister or her kingdom again. A lone tear makes it's way down from her eye and to the floor.
"Just...kill me already you vile creature or do you get some sort of sick fascination watching the results of your terror," she says more tears starting to follow the first.
After she speaks the bi-ped recoils in shock quickly standing up and grabbing it's death stick.
"You...speak English? Da? This is....concerning. English is not language I speak well. Though...I am not wishing you harm as long as you wish none to me," the creature responds with in a thick accent , though he was clearly stumbling over some words.
Celestia jumps in shock at hearing the creature speak "You...you can speak Equish? I am not aware of this 'English' you speak of."
"I do not speak this 'Equish' you state. I am only semi-able to speak English. I am fluent in Russian the language of my home country. Though now that we have established I mean you no harm I suggest we share names, da? It is not often I get to speak to creature in Zone who does not wish to kill me in horrible painful ways." the creature says chuckling slightly.
"Names?...Very well I suppose that would be the most reasonable way to go about things. My name is Princess Celestia diarch of the nation of Equestria and I would really like to know where I am,"
"Ah...my name is Rostik Gestav and you are currently in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone fondly nicknamed to simply 'The Zone' by us STALKERS. Since you seem to not originate from here I am going to assume it has not created you, da? This is...strange as most things aside from us humans in the Zone were created by it. Abominations and horrors behind our wildest nightmares prowl in the dark waiting for a minute to strike and drag the unwary into a dark hellhole to tear them to pieces or suck out their blood."
"That...sounds frankly horrible...I think..I need to lay down again. I am feeling rather woozy and that...disturbing fact did not help me feel any better at all. So with all due respect Rostik, if I may just call you that. I think I am going to lay back down." Celestia states before passing out again, still weak from all the blood she had lost.

Sorry for the short chapter, I wont have much time for writing today so I tried to pump out what I could for you guys.
I promise it'll be more interesting next chapter.
