Our Story Begins (Edited)
*Sniffs* Ahhh.... Where we Begin...
3rd Person POV:
It was a calm night in the city of Canterlot. Owls hooted among the few trees that grew there, and in the courtyard of the great castle, it was much so. One owl, separate from its comrades, stared at a balcony. Not at the balcony itself, but at the majestic white alicorn standing there, gazing out into the night.
This particular equine beheld a flowing rainbow mane, and had a picture of the sun on her flank. She sighed.
Moments later, the door to the room beyond opened up, and in walked her sister. Slightly smaller, she had a black coat with a mane that resembled the starry sky. Upon seeing her sister, she paused.
"Tia!" she exclaimed. "Why are you not resting?"
Tia whipped her head around. "Me?"
"Yes. I'm speaking to thee," replied her sister.
"Oh... just thinking... it's nothing, Luna," Tia replied.
Luna gave her a skeptical look. "Of?"
"Just... matters. Matters in general..." muttered Tia, turning back to the night breeze.
"That affect you in this way?" pressed Luna.
"What way?" Tia asked lazily.
Luna snorted. "Come off it, dear sister. Somethings troubling you."
Tia looked around at her sister and grinned. "You always know."
"That is correct," replied Luna, sitting down. "Now, explain."
Tia sighed. "I want a kid," she said.
Luna was taken aback at this. "Er... you know, as your sister... I can't exactly give you a child, I'm a female -"
"Oh, not like that!!!" cried Tia, who was going red. "I meant... I'd like a son, one who I can... you know... be a mother to." She looked embarrassed.
Luna studied her sister. "Well, if you were to have a son, it would have to be strong enough to rule someday. It couldn't be just anypony."
"I know..." replied Tia. "I just need to think about who would..."
The two sat in a moment of silence. Luna could almost hear the gears cranking in Tia's head. Then, suddenly, she gasped, making Luna jump.
"What about a human?" she asked energetically.
Luna was again taken aback. "Tia... y-you know I can't do that!" she stammered.
Tia gave her a hard look. "You definitely have the capability."
"Yes, but... that's breaking the Code of Interdimensional Peace and Prosperity!!" she cried. "I shouldn't! It's just as bad as theft." She looked her sister hard in the eyes.
Tia didn't back down, rather, she stood up taller and gave Luna a look that burned through her. After a tense moment, Luna looked away, sheepish.
"I... I'll see what I can do." she said, and disappeared in a flash of light.
THUNK. WHACK. THUMP. BONK.
The sounds of falling down the stairs.
The sound of a head connecting with hollow wood boards.
The sound of pain.
At sunrise, in a pretty two story home in the town of Windsor, Colorado, a kid lay at the bottom of the stairs, contemplating what just happened.
The boy's name was Joey, and he had a good life. More friends than he could hope for. Amazing parents. A gorgeous girlfriend (not a hoe, just a normal girl). And, most importantly... actually, we just listed all the important things. Whoopsie.
He had chocolate brown hair that fell straight (although Joey joked that it was turd brown) with a slight tan from being outside so much. He had hazel eyes, a goofy smile, and a laugh that always lit up the room around him. He was tall, about the age he should be for a sixteen year old. Skinny as he looked, he could run fast when he wanted to.
He groaned and stood up. "That hurt worse than an ass-cheek on a stripper pole," he muttered to himself.
"Joey! Language!" said his mom, who unfortunately overheard him.
"Sorry," replied Joey, brushing himself off. "Where's my backpack?"
"Over by the door, where you left it yesterday," his mom replied lazily as she diced green onions for an omelet she was making for Joey.
"And my lunch?" asked Joey, strolling into the kitchen.
"It should be in the fridge, considering you made it last night."
"Oh yeah... thanks."
"Don't mention it," replied his mom, slipping the onions into a frying pan with the egg.
"Can I have some coffee?" asked Joey, gesturing at the coffee pot.
"As long as you don't miss the bus," his mom replied, setting a plate on the table. "Now come and eat."
Joey sat down with his coffee and scarfed his omelete down. As he started on his coffee, he asked, "Aren't you gonna eat, Mom?"
"Yeah, after you leave," she replied. "Then I'll probably work on my crocheting project for your little cousins."
Joey nodded, and finished his coffee. He then looked at the time and realized he had two minutes to get on the bus. He shot out of his chair, gave his mom a quick hug, and grabbed his lunch and backpack as he ran out the door. "Bye mom! Love you!" he cried, then bolted out the door.
A couple seconds later, he returned sheepishly to close the door. Then he ran for the bus.
Luckily for him, he reached the stop just as the last kids were boarding. Joining them, he got on the bus. One forty-five minute nap later, he was at school. Jumping off the bus, he hurried to his friends hangout hallway.
As he walked in, he heard a female voice. "Joey!!"
A blonde girl had come up to him and given him a hug. This was Jo-Ann, Joey's girlfriend. "How'd you sleep?"
"Meh, but I'll probably sleep in my Spanish class," replied Joey. "You?"
"Really, good actually. I haven't had this much energy since summer break!" she replied.
The two talked until the bell rang. Then they walked together to class, holding hands and laughing. When they reached Joey's class, they parted ways.
"See you at lunch!" said Jo-Ann, kissing him. "Have a good nap!"
Joey laughed. "Thanks, I will."
Immediately after sitting down at his desk, Joey put his head down. He hadn't realized how tired he was until he did this. The teacher started to write on the whiteboard, no doubt starting a lecture. The drone slowly became monotonous to Joey, just as his eyelids became heavier and heavier, ensuring his nap was in motion. He drifted off...
He was floating with the stars, up in deep space. It wasn't like space, though... he could breathe... he was swimming in air, swimming in the night sky. It was soothing.
As he stretched out, he gazed at the stars. He didn't recognize any constellations, but that didn't matter. He was floating in liquid peace. A warm breeze floated by, tickling his face. He grinned. This is great, he thought.
"Hello, child," came a calm feminine voice from behind him, making him jump. He spun around to face the source.
A unicorn-pegasus mix stood in front of him. Stood? More like floated... either way, it was weird.
This particular equine beheld a flowing mane that resembled the sky around them, and had a picture of the moon on her flank.
"There will be a time for explanation, but now is not the time," it said. "Come."
Joey did not move. "Who are you?" he asked.
"Luna, princess of the stars," she said majestically. "Now, come with me... come to my land."
"I like it here," replied Joey, uncertain. "I have a choice don't I?"
"No... not really," said the horse, and her horn glowed. Every cell in Joey's body started vibrating.
"What are you doing?" he asked. He was surprised his voice sounded calm, because he definitely wasn't. He was drowning in panic.
"What I must, child," said Luna. She looked truly sorry.
"No, no you don't," started Joey. "Stop, stop it, you don't have to-"
And then he woke up. But he wasn't in Spanish class anymore.
