Before Applejack was born, Mrs. Cake made a promise to Pear Butter that in the event that if Buttercup or Granny Smith couldn't take care of her daughter or any future fillies, she'd be happy to fill in as guardian and caregiver. Fast forward many years after Pear Butter is gone, and that promise is to be fulfilled. And, out of the kindness of her heart, more than just being a caregiver and godmother comes into play for Mrs. Cake.
