Chapters Author's Note
Hello One and All, First off, this is a story dedicated to all of those out in the ABDL community! and as FabulousDivaRarity puts it, we're pretty much all one big family. Secondly, the basis of this story came into my head from watching the Perfect Pear especially after hearing and learning about the friendship that a young Mrs. Cake had with Pear Butter. (I absolutely love that episode
I Promise...
It was years ago, before Applejack was born that Pear Butter, pregnant with her second child was spending time with her friend Mrs. Cake who had recently married, the two were in the Sugar Cube Corner kitchen, baking various treats and pastries.
"You know, I've been thinking, Chiffon..." Pear Butter began, "Bright Mac and I won't be around forever to take care of our babies, watching them grow, and since Bright and I agreed that Burnt Oak be Macintosh's godfather, he and I were wondering..."
"If I be the godmother to your daughter and any other fillies you may have?" Mrs. Cake asked, finishing her friend's sentence as she was hard at work frosting a cake for an order.
"Eeyup." Pear Butter said, nodding as she relaxed in her chair, eating an apple glazed donut. "You know me so well, my friend." she chuckled.
"Why, I'd be honored to." Mrs. Cake replied, giving her friend a gentle hug. "After all..." she went on, "Carrot and I would love to have foals of our own some day. and that'd be a good start."
"I'm sure that you'd make a great mother." Pear Butter replied, returning the hug. "I mean, Dad's never going to know about me being a mother, after all...I did marry the stallion I love, despite him being the son of his business rival." She then sighed, a few tears falling down from her face. "I just can't believe that he went and disowned me, his own daughter." Cup Cake finished up her delivery and went over to comfort her friend.
"Dear, I'm sure he was just in shock. But you are right, no pony should have to go through that. I promise you that, with foal number two, and foal number three and any other fillies that you end up having, to be a good caregiver and godmother."
"Thank you, I know that Granny Smith, my mother-in-law will do her best too. I mean, you saw how forgiving and welcoming to her family she was when Dad disowned me. But she, like Dad, is middle aged..."
"Yes, she looks to be one who can be very forgiving... and I know, it can be sad to know that your parents won't always be there to take care of you, but as long as you remember them, they're never really gone..."
"You're right there." Pear said.
Just then, Bright Mac came trotting in, with his young son in toll, a faint crinkle heard on the young colt's flanks. "There are my two handsome colts." Pear Butter said, smiling.
"Hey there, Buttercup.." smiled Bright. "How's the baby doing?"
"Oh quite fine, and how's our son?"
"Fine, mama.." young Mac said, heading into his mother's sightlines. "I was having fun playing with Granny in the house while Daddy was hard at work in the fields."
"Yeah, I kind of built up an appetite, bucking all them trees is hard work." Bright Mac said, "And, I figured, give Mom a break, and plus why not let our boy come see his mama and his "auntie Cake?" Young Mac blushed but nodded.
"Such a sweet young colt, and a handsome one too." cooed Mrs. Cake.
"Th..thank you, auntie Cake..." Young Mac stammered, and blushed even more from the attention he was receiving.
"Awww, I'm touched by you calling me that." Mrs. Cake said, tousling the young colt's mane, causing him to blush even more, from all the attention that he was recieving
"Mama, how are you?" Young Mac asked, trotting over to his mother.
"I'm fine sweetie, just relaxing a bit before I help your Auntie Cake with her order. Speaking of which.."
"Oh, right!" Mrs. Cake said, heading over to the counter. "What can I get for you two?"
"Ah'll have a few cupcakes, please, Chiffon." Bright Mac said, pointing out a variety of cupcakes. "I promised to get mom a treat."
"C..can I have a few cookies, please, Auntie Cake?"
"Certainly, Mackie..." the blue earth pony mare said, filling out the order and presenting the treats in a bag for Young Mac before proceeding to box up the cupcakes for Bright Mac.
"And, that'll be 10 bits, honey." Pear Butter said, as she carefully walked over to the cash register.
"Here you go, mama." Young Mac said as his father helped him pay for the treats. Bright Mac then took his son over to one of the tables inside where they ate their baked goods, saving a few treats for home. As Mrs. Cake finished the order, she trotted up to a cabinet and returned to the two male ponies, with a present. "Mackie, this is a gift from Carrot and I, I hope you like it."
"Can I open it?" the young diapered colt asked.
"Of course, son." smiled the stallion. Young Mac opened up the parcel and looked inside which was a teddy bear, which was red in color and had a cupcake design printed on his paws. He smiled at the present and showed it to his father and then to his mother.
"Thank you Auntie Cake." Young Mac said, giving a hug to the baker. "It was my pleasure, Mackie, I hope that you'll take good care of him."
"Oh I will." Young Mac replied, giving the bear a cuddle.
"Come on son, we need to get home, for your nap and so Granny can have her cupcakes."
"Okay daddy, bye mama, bye Auntie Cake, and thank you once again." the young colt said, hugging his honorary aunt and giving a hug and kiss to his mother before heading out of the shop with his father back to Sweet Apple Acres. Once they were gone, the two mares sat at a table.
"That was a very nice and thoughtful thing you did for my son, Chiffon." Pear Butter said, "You really made him a happy little colt, if Granny, Bright or I ever need a break, you can always foalsit him for us, and we'd greatly appreciate it." she continued, taking her hoof and rubbing her belly.
"Oh it was nothing, really, after all, he's your first born, and you're my best friend, Buttercup, least I could do, and thank you. That'd be great practice for when I'm ready to become a mother myself." Cup Cake replied, smiling at her friend.
For the rest of the day, the two filled in various orders for delivery and took orders from customers.
Years have since passed from that promise made, and now it was coming to fruition, as one day, Mrs. Cake was out by the farm, looking at the combined Pear and Apple tree left from when her friend got married. She simply just sat in silence in an almost trance like state, when she heard the galloping of hooves and then a voice spoke to her.
"Hi, Mrs. Cake, are you just thinking about my ma?"
Mrs. Cake turned around and saw that it was Applejack speaking to her.
"Oh, hello Applejack, yes, I was. and thinking about something I promised her from before you were born."
"What was that?" the orange farm mare asked, sitting beside her.
"Well, you know that from what I told you, your mom and I were very close friends, almost sisters in fact. which is why, when he was a young colt, your brother called me his Auntie Cake." She giggled, remembering that little fact.
Applejack chuckled. "Yeah, from what Ma and Pa told me, he loved how much attention that ya gave him. In fact, I hear that he still has that bear you gifted him."
"Anyway, I made a promise to her that when you were born, in case your grandmother, and your parents weren't able to take care of you, and your sister, that I'd be the one to do it, that I'd be your godmother." Mrs. Cake smiled warmly.
"Ah think Ma did briefly mention that to me, when Applebloom was born." Applejack said. "Pa said that Burnt Oak would do his best to take care of Big Macintosh."
"That's right." Mrs. Cake nodded. "And that I'd be taking care of you and your sister. I spoke to your grandmother about it. and she agreed that as long as you and your siblings continued to work on the farm, she was more then happy to let you live elsewhere." The baker pony then proceeded to give the orange farm mare a hug.
"T..thank you, Mrs. Cake..." Applejack said, fighting to hold back tears. "Th..that means a lot to me.."
"Aww, there there, sweetheart." soothed Mrs. Cake as she continued to embrace Applejack in a hug. "It'll be alright."
"Ah'm just more worried about Applebloom." she sniffled. "She was very young when Ma and Pa passed away, I know she's got a few memories of them but they never saw her get her cutie mark or anything like that. So I don't know how she'll react.."
"Well, there's only one way to find out." Mrs. Cake said, as she got up. "You go on ahead to the farm house, I'll catch up with you in a moment." She called out. "I made a promise to you, Buttercup." she whispered. "And I plan to keep that promise."
Mrs. Cake had soon joined Applejack in the living room of the farm house, waiting for Applebloom to come in from her crusading mission. When she did come in, she hugged her sister.
"Sis, why is Mrs. Cake here?"
"Sit down, Applebloom." Applejack said, "She's here because it's rather important, and relates to Mom."
Mrs. Cake nodded. "Yes, that's right, you see years ago, when your brother was young and your mother was pregnant with your sister, I made a promise to her that I'd become your legal guardian."
Applebloom was confused. "What'd ya mean, legal guardian? What about Granny Smith?"
"I spoke to Granny, and she was fine with you staying with my family and I at Sugar Cube Corner, but you'd still work here at the farm."
"Oh..." replied Applebloom as she readjusted herself in her seat.
"I know that it's a lot to take in, but I promise and reassure you that you'll feel just as loved by me, as you have been by your grandmother." Mrs. Cake said, hugging the young earth pony with the bow in her mane.
"Well, Ah don't see the harm in it, besides, if you say that it was a promise that you made to mom, and ah know how important it is to keep a promise so, Mrs. Cake, we'll gladly accept you looking after us."
"Oh, I'm glad, you two, I'm very glad." the baker pony hugged both sisters.
Then, as they got up, they went to their individual rooms to gather what belongings that they would take with them to Sugar Cube Corner. They knew that from here on out, things were bound to be different for them. The two packed up what they wanted and then said a tearful goodbye to Granny Smith, who in return, gave them each a hug, a kiss on the forehead and some parting advice. Soon, they were on their way to their new life and home. All the while, each of them had thoughts on their mind....
"I do hope that i don't fail Pear Butter as her friend and as their guardian. I'd feel like I would let her down otherwise. "
"This idea of Mrs. Cake is actually pretty smart, especially if Twilight's cutie map calls Pinkie and Ah on a friendship quest... "
"I know that she isn't Mom, but she is a mom, so she definitely knows what she's talking about. "
When they got to the bakery, Mrs. Cake led them upstairs to the apartment part of the building. "It'll take some time to establish , but for now you two can take the spare storage room. There are two cots in there. Just make yourselves at home."
And the two sisters did just that.
"Sis, I know it's going to be a little strange at first, but having Mrs. Cake look after us, and knowing how close she was to mom, it makes it feel as if she's here too, watching over us." Applebloom said as she settled onto the bed that she chose.
"And Pa as well." Applejack added.
"There's just something about Mrs. Cake's kindness and tender loving care of her being a mom that puts me at ease..." the orange mare added.
"Ah I feel it too." repllied Applebloom.
Mrs. Cake soon returned and saw that they had settled in.
"Mrs. Cake?" Applebloom asked, walking over.
"Yes?" replied the bakery mare. "What is it, Applebloom?"
"Ah was wondering...."

CHAPTER 3! YESSSSS! Here's the penultimate chapter, I hope you all enjoy cute little Bloomy! I just love calling her that, by the way
Little Bloomy
"Yes, Applebloom, what were you wondering?" Mrs. Cake asked.
"Ah was just wondering if you wouldn't mind babying me for a while. Ah mean, Ah do barely remember Mom and Dad, and they died when ah was young." Applebloom said, the tiniest amount of a blush forming on her cheeks from asking about an embarrassing request. "Oh, sweetie..." Mrs. Cake said, cooing. "Of course I'll be happy to do that for you., and Applejack, you're more than welcome to join her." She hugged the young earth pony as she took her to the Cake twins' nursery. "Now I'll have to get some larger diapers for Applejack, but hopefully these'll do for now." Applebloom nodded as she reached her hooves up for Mrs. Cake to put her into a diaper for the first time in years. Memories that were thought to have been long forgotten came running back into her mind. It began to overwhelm the young earth pony, and she just broke down into tears. Both Applejack and Mrs. Cake comforted her.
"Shhh, shhh.. It's going to be alright..." Mrs. Cake said.
'Yes, Applebloom, everything will be okay." reassured Applejack, giving her little sister a hug.
Mrs. Cake began to sing a lullaby.
"If I could count the ways I love you, it wouldn't be enough, you are the apple of my eye, my diamond in the rough. We will always love each other, no matter what, through thick and thin, and we will never part again, yes, we will never part again. The skies are the limit, little one. And all you have to do is dream, yes, all you have to do is dream. "
The soft singing from Mrs. Cake seemed to have a calming effect on the yellow earth pony. "Thank you, for helping me to calm down." Applebloom said, as Mrs. Cake hugged her. "Anytime..." the baker told her. Applebloom could then feel her eyelids getting heavy. "Is it alright if ah take a bit of a rest?" she asked, yawning. "Not at all, dear." Mrs. Cake replied as they went back to their room. Applejack offered to cuddle with her sister while Mrs. Cake went off to the Adult Foal supply store to get some more appropriate sized diapers for Applejack as well as placing an order for a few items of furniture which would turn the sisters' room into a nursery with an adult sized crib and changing table. She had it all delivered to the bakery, and it was soon to be assembled.
As time went on, the two sisters found themselves more at ease with Mrs. Cake watching over them, and she too felt happy knowing that she was doing her late friend a service. But, she wanted more than that, true, she loved Pound and Pumpkin with all her heart, and she felt that both of the Apple sisters were like her daughters too. "I've already consulted Granny Smith about this, and I know she's family, but in her old age, I worry... she thought. "Aha! I know what I must do. I'll consult Carrot Cake and then head to town hall for the paperwork " she quickly ran home. When she got there, she saw Applebloom waiting for her.
"Uh, Mrs. Cake? I sort of had an accident..." the young filly blushed. "Oh, it's alright, dearie, accidents happen, now, let's get you changed, alright?" Applebloom nodded and she was soon changed, followed by Applejack. After the change, Mrs. Cake served lunch to them. It occurred to the sisters that even they were starting to feel the love that Mrs. Cake was showing them.
Later, as the two played in their nursery, Applejack spoke up to her little sister. "Mom's always going to be in our memories and in our heart, but Aah'd say that Mrs. Cake should become our new mother, besides, Granny, as much as we love her and appreciate all those years she took care of us after Mom and Dad's passing, ah feel it'd be easier for us to have a mother, even if it means you and I becoming larger foals. Don'cha agree, sugarcube?" she asked Applebloom, giving her a hug. "Y..yes, ah do, Applejack, and to be honest, I sort of miss being in diapers, they are so snug and comforting, it feels like Mom and Dad are still watching over us, giving us a hug." Just then, they heard Mrs. Cake come home. "Girls, she called out, I have a surprise for you, would you please come down?"
The two sisters came down to the main floor to where Mrs. Cake was.
"Yes, Mrs. Cake?" the two asked, in unison.
Home and Family; Forever and Ever
Mrs. Cake pulled out some papers and certificates from her saddlebags and showed it to them. They were adoption papers, hereby fully stating that both Applebloom, and Applejack were now officially the daughters of Mrs. Cake. "I am proud to call you two my beautiful daughters." Mrs. Cake said. Tears came flowing down as they embraced in a group hug. "And we're both glad to call you Mommy." Applebloom said, sniffling as she continued to cry. "I made a promise to Pear Butter, and I've kept that promise." Mrs. Cake added, "I promised her to always watch over you, and I have. I'm very proud of the two of you for all that you have accomplished in your lives." After a good five to ten minutes of overwhelming emotion, it calmed down as she kissed both of her newly adopted daughter's foreheads.
"I love both of you..." Mrs. Cake said, "I"m happy to be your mom.""We love you too, mommy." Applebloom said. And, with that, their destiny was sealed, yes, they were still Apples to the core, but now, they were also Cakes. As time went on for the two, they became more accustomed to being the daughters of their mother's best friend. One day in particular, Mrs. Cake happily read a story to her four babies. "Once upon a time, there was a beautiful princess, she lived in a castle, guarded by a fire breathing dragon, only the bravest of knights would be able to defeat the dragon and rescue her. One knight in particular, Sir Rainbow Star the Valiant, and his trusty squire, decided to go on the noble quest for the king, who wanted to be re-united with his daughter..." As Mrs. Cake told the story, the Cake twins fell asleep. Mrs. Cake put them to sleep and then turned to focus on her other daughters.
