A Friendship Thrown Aside
Author's Note
There'll deffinetely be more chapters to this story, and although it's a story with Spike as the protagonist, Twilight will still be the Dueteragonist/Main Antagonist. Rarity will also be the Tritagonist for reasons that may or may not be obvious to some. Also, I don't wanna make anyone mad, but please read the story before disliking it. I think that's what most of the dislikes on My Little Pony X are all about. Anyway, enjoy the story!
They Never Cared
Twilight had just been berated and disowned by her own brother, her flesh and blood at that, and it was more than enough to crush her. She never expected comfort, but she could've at least been shown something to show they didn't hate her. Then, she heard Applejack speak up. "Cmon Ya'll. Let's go check on the Princess." These words would've been fine, if it weren't for the cold, heartless, almost emotionless actions they showed when they walked past her. All of them aside from Spike's conflicted loook made Twilight even more distrought.
Twilight looked at Celestia to try and explain what she was trying to do, only able to say two words before being interrupted. "I just-"
"You have a lot to think about." These seven words struck a spear through Twilight's heart. As we saw the inside of her body, there was even a viewing of Twilight's heart being stabbed repeatedly by a sword, and then said spear going into it. Twilight felt her body stop upon hearing those words, and she was more than certain that this meant the worst of it.
As Celestia left the room, Twilight spoke up in a calm voice, hiding her pain. "You're right Princess Celestia. (Celestia looks back at Twilight) I have to think about the friends I've made. I have to think about the teacher I have. And I even have to think about how cold you all were in this moment, and how much you adored it."
Celestia decided to brush off Twilight's words of coldness, despite being turned off by them. "Riiight. I'll give you until tomorrow to think about this." Celestia walked off with Twilight still looking distraught at what just happened.
distraught and anxiety had filled the room with Twilight all alone. Twilight was standing still in the hallway with tears flowing down her eyes. She couldn't believe what had just happened to her. She'd just been disowned by everyone, all for the sake of a stupid wedding. She thought to herself with the highest amount of distraught she could. 'Kindness. Laughter. Generosity. Honesty. Loyalty. The elements they failed, and the Princess of Equestria failed to care.' She then thought more to herself as he heart turned black. 'Care. Remourse. Emotion. Intelligence. Heart.'
Twilight was led to believe that those she felt knew what those words meant have officially turned their backs on her. She then spoke aloud with a thought she had just created. As untrue as it was, she was now set on it. "All they wanted was my bucking brother." It was then made official. It was only a matter of time until Twilight...was broken. As Cadance entered the room behind her, Twilight turned around and blasted her right into the wall.
Twilight wiped her eyes and walked up to Cadance and found herself revealed to be Chrysalis, queen of the changelings. When Twilight stomped on her chest, she spoke viciously. "Bring, Cadance, now. (Grins) I want to speak with her."
Cadance was in the mines where Chrysalis trapped her while trying to find a way out. While walking around, she got a sudden chill down her spine. Deep down she wanted to marry Shining Armor, but she couldn't help but feel he just did something cruel and heartless to someone else she cared deeply fore. For now, she decided to drop it, and continued onward. That is, until Twilight jumped through a portal with Chrysalis, who she made some arrangements with. "And if you even think of betraying us, Celestia won't hesitate to end you."
Cadance took intrigue to this new manipulative side of Twilight's as the two of them then did their greeting shake. "Sunshine, shinshine, ladybugs awake. Clap your hooves and do a little shake."
Twilight and Cadance giggled with Chrysalis rolling her eyes as Twilight then explained how she got down there. "I was able to see through this fake and sense how much against the real you she was. Ha! Stressed from the wedding. The only thing that stressed YOU out is your friends in danger."
"Well you're right about that." Cadance replied as she then questioned why Twilight wanted to come down here. "But why are you down here? Why didn't you just tell Chrysalis to send me back up?"
"I wanted to bring you back up there in person." Twilight explained, as she then gave Cadance some instructions to follow. "And when we get up there, just play the wedding out like normal. I will be there, but I won't be there until a little later than you'd expect. I want to get back at some backstabbing jerks and I need some time to pull the plan off. (Holds her hoof out) Can I trust you?"
Cadance nodded and shook Twilight's hoof. Silence surrounded the room upon those actions as they then walked out with a tied up Chrysalis to escape and execute the plan. Although Cadance was cautious by Twilight's devious tone, she knew Twilight all too well to think she could plan anything devious or painful. Or did she?"
The rest of the Main Six were in Cadance's room with Spike questioning if what they did to Twilight was right. Rarity saw his concern and put her hoof on his shoulder for comfort. "You okay Spike? I know what happened at the rehearsal was more than a disaster, but trust me. The wedding will be smashing."
"Except...should we go?" Everyone looked at Spike upon those words; not being mad at him, but not being completely on board with him either. "We just ditched Twilight. And it's not like she had malicious intent or anything. True what she did was a bit excessive, but did she really deserve to be alone? Kinda makes me feel like we made her into an emo."
Shining Armor questioned Spike's words and walked up to him with slight sternness. "So you're saying you won't be going to the wedding."
"If I said that I would've gotten up, packed my bags, and gotten my butt off out of here." Spike stated with his usual child-like wit. "I'm just saying that Twilight had a tendency to over do this sort of stuff. The least we could've done is try to understand that." Shining Armor didn't exactly take lightly to what Spike was saying here. He took it as a way of him trying to get the wedding called off. And although that wasn't Spike's intention, he knew that was what Shining Armor was thinking. And he was more than ready to debunk the accusation of his adoptive older brother no matter the circumstances.

Author's Note
Keep in mind that I won't always be able to upload chapters as frequently as a couple every week. Just during times when I don't have any other stories to write. So for the time being I can offer you all plenty of content. Also, the chapters from three or four and onward may be longer than the first two. Just wanted to get that out there. Enjoy!
He Overreacted
Spike was more than prepared for whatever Shining Armor had to say to him, knowing that it couldn't be as bad as what he said to Twilight. So as soon as Shining Armor called him out on his words, he was ready. "Spike, that's ridiculous. You saw how Twilight was out there. I can't have a Best Mare that's willing to tear the wedding apart."
"Except what if that WASN'T what Twilight was intending on?" Spike asked, and he then continued his explination without hesitating one bit, knowing for certain that Twilight needed support. He even stood up to stand more firm so he could say his words. "You of all people should know how she is Shining. You've been her brother for at least two decades now; you have every reason to believe her intentions are good."
Shining Armor scoffed, finding Spike's words to be utterly ridiculous. The thoughts these next words gave to Spike were unimaginable. "So you're saying you'd rather have her get away with calling my bride evil?" Spike clenched his fist upon those words and took Shining's scolding in more, despite the flames of rage seething inside of him. "It's your call. Defend Twilight and get uninvited, or leave her and have the time of your life."
Spike chuckled with a grin that brought everyone to shock, filling the area with only his chuckling being heard. After about five seconds, Spike gave a grin to his adoptive brother as he spoke with calmness in his voice. "I see your blackmail Shining Armor, and I'm afraid to tell you that it won't work. My mind is made up. And what it has made up, is that you overreacted." Shining Armor flinched with everyone else doinga swift gasp (You know; the kind in the 2017 movie. I hate the way they do it on the show. Too over-exaturated.) "It's just a simple fact that you all want to deny."
Shining Armor found these words hard to take in, unable to decide whether or not they were true. He knew that Spike loved Twilight, but the question was, did he still love her? Or did he decide that his blood family was worth nothing to him. "So you're not going."
"Oh, I'm going." Spike assured Shining Armor as he put up a claw of his. "I just have a bad feeling you'll be jealous of how right I'll be when Twilight comes back to haunt you." Spike walks off, leaving everyone in the room stunned by his words. Celestia watched him walk down the hall as he gave her a wink, wondering what had become of his personality upon this.
Spike was walking down the hall as he arrived at Twilight's room, hoping his adoptive older sister was doing okay. He gave a knock on her door to see if she was doing okay. "Twilight? You okay in there?"
"Yes, I'm fine Spike." Twilight replied calmly from a desk of some sorts, seeming to be devising some sort of plan. "You can come in." Spike entered the room and saw Twilight devising her plan, wondering what it was all about. He got a glimpse at it and became curious as to what Twilight was doing. "This is just my plan for crashing the wedding. Shining Armor decides to ban me, and I'll show up anyway. (Leans over and whispers) Don't tell anyone else though. I don't want them finding out."
Spike nodded and then started to question how Twilight was going to pull this off. "I'm pretty sure there'll be guards around the halls from the first to the last. How are you gonna get this done without any of them finding out?"
Twilight giggled a bit as she then turned to Spike with a smile. "I have plans for that. On the day of the wedding, I'll show up late, and then I'll make sure everyone regrets what they did to me. They'll all wish they did what was right." Spike seemed a tad bit creeped out by Twilight's words, but decided it wasn't worth questioning.
The next day.
The wedding was happening with Spike and Cadance both wondering what Twilight was going to do. As Celestia continued to speak, she seemed genuinelly happy for her niece, and didn't hesitate to show happiness for her. "And as we are brought here today, to celebrate these two coming together in the form of love and affection, I can safely say that I wouldn't have either of them marry anyone else." Spike gagged behind everyone's backs, which no one noticed, showing that he wasn't too fond of this romance junk.
Cadance caught Spike's gag however, and didn't mind it, since kids his age naturally had this thought. She then looked at Shining Armor and found him to be excited beyond belief. In any other circumstances, she would've understood it. But Twilight was no where in sight, and she questioned why no one else was confused by it. A dark figure was then shown peeking through the window, seeming to be in the form of a young dragon, just before it vanished.
Celestia was about to finish up her words and announce Shining Armor and Cadance as a couple. "Now if anyone has any objections to these two being married, speak now, or forever hold your peace." Everyone remained silent for about five seconds, and Celestia was about to speak again, until a door was flung open with a familiar voice being heard.
"I object!"
Twilight was shown with a serious look at the front door with two beaten up guards behind her. She then walked up to Shining Armor with silence filling the room until Cadance spoke. "Twilight, what's going on?"
"I'll tell you what's going on." Twilight replied as she then spoke firm to show her thoughts of betrayal. "The stallion here before us, the one you're marrying today, has thrown away all of the history we had before us, along with a group of backstabbing manipulative jerks!"
A Friendship Thrown Aside
Everyone in the room was shocked by Twilight's words, especially Cadance, who wouldn't have ever expected them from her after knowing her for so long. Shining Armor almost instantly became hostile, walking up to Twilight to scold her. "I thought I told you-"
Twilight used her magic to zip up Shining Armor's mouth, not wanting to hear him speak for the time being. "I didn't give you permission to have a voice." Twilight shoved Shining Armor aside, leaving him lying down on the floor with only Cadance to help him up. Twilight then stood in front of everyone as she announced yesterday's event. "Yesterday, behind all of your backs, this so called 'Groom', decided that he was going to disown me, in front of all my friends, AND the supposed Princess Celestia, and they all joined him to make me rot!"
The audience gave a quick gasp at the sound of this with Rainbow dash rolling her eyes in annoyance. "Yeah, cause gasping twice at different times helps."
"I'm less upset with you now for that remark;" Twilight began as she looked at Rainbow dash. "It was a nice jab at the gasping we do every day. As for the rest of you, you can entirely rot! The way you all double crossed me for my black hearted brother was utterly ridiculous!" Twilight then turned to her hopefully still friends completely. "But I just want to know one thing." Twilight put on a face of concern, hoping her friends still cared about her. "Why?"
The other main six all looked at each other with regret as Applejack then spoke up. "Twilight, I think I speak for all of us when I say we regret what we did back there. I guess after seeing you do what you did with the whole accusing Cadance thing we just couldn't think to comfort you."
"But that's the thing!" Twilight exclaimed with dissapointment. "We've been friends for at least a year. And I know it doesn't seem like much, but look at it this way. You've all known me longer than Shining Armor, and you know so much more about me than you would about him. If you're going to leave me hanging, then at least try not to look like you despise me."
Cadance used her magic to unzip Shining Armor's lips as he then spoke up. "Twily, I-"
"I DIDN'T SAY YOU COULD TALK!" Twilight snapped as she glared at her brother, making him hide behind Cadance, who was just as shocked as him. Twilight then turned back to her friends with a conflicted expression. "You five have shown me the best qualities out of every friend. And sure we did some pretty excessive things to each other like the Mare do Well thing, still can't believe we actually took that seriously, and the Gala, thought to be fair that was supposed to go wrong, but I still expect you to be there for me when the time comes for it."
Spike ran up to Twilight and hugged him, almost crying upon the words she said. "You Spike, I get. You're too young to make the right choice EVERY time. But the rest of you? What's your excuse?"
Celestia walked up to Twilight with some words in mind about why she left to comfort Cadance. "She's my Niece, and family does come first."
Twilight saw Celestia's point and decided to let her off the hook for joining in. "Fair enough. I'd likely do the same."
Just then, the room turned dark and a dark figure that looked like a black dragon came down from the roof. When he spread out his wings, he revealed himself to have crystal coating and on them, and red scales and claws. He spoke in a devilish and manipulative voice as he walked up to Twilight and the others. "Greetings everyone in the room. My deepest apologies for the sudden entrance, but I personally felt it would be best. Especially considering the occasion."
Celestia started powering up her magic just in case the dragon was a threat. "What do you-" The dragon blasted Celestia with his dark magic and started draining her life. When she lost about a quarter of her life, everyone was shocked, and Celestia then coughed up a bit of blood. "You won't-" The dragon slashed Celestia's throat open and made her spread blood all over the room.
The dragon wiped the blood from his scaled off as he then looked at the shocked and horrified crowd. "That is the power of all darkness, and the now absorbed Chrysalis, in my power. (Looks at Twilight) And you Twilight Sparkle, are the gem I need in order to complete my calling."
Twilight flinched, surprised to see this supposedly strange dragon requesting her help. "Hold on. I don't even know your name. Why would I help you?"
The dragon chuckled devilishly as he then revealed him name to Twilight. "My name is Ryu. (Bows to Twilight) A pleasure to make your acquaintance." Ryu then spoke about his intentions with Twilight. "I'm not going to be taking your life force you lavander colored source of power. I merely wish to make all the light in this world suffer for it's own well being." Ryu then teleported to Shining Armor and extended his claws. "Chaos if you will."
Twilight spoke proudly to Ryu, knowing he couldn't accept his invitation. "Sorry to spoil your fun Ryu, but I won't be joining you any time soon. I have friends and family that all care about me, and I won't leave them behind for anything."
The others gave smiles to Twilight, glad that she's making the right decision. Ryu then chuckled devilishly as he stood up to retort Twilight's words. "Friends? You mean the ones who abandoned you and left you to be isolated just so they could jump onto your brother?"
Twilight flinched upon hearing those words as she then got serious with Ryu, knowing he wasn't on to mess with. She was more than angry about what he was tryingto do, especially after all of the drama that's happened from yesterday to today. She tried to hold in her anger the best she could, and although she spoke calmly, it was pretty clear what she was thinking right now. "What are you getting at?"
"I'm just stating the facts." Ryu declared as he then spoke about how the otheres betrayed Twilight. "It's as you said when they all abandoned you. All they wanted was your brother." Everyone else was shocked by this information as Ryu then continued. "I wouldn't blame you for thinking that either. After all, they did leave you in the coldest manner they could. Heck, I'm surprised it didn't turn into a blizzard with how savage they turned. But honestly, you should be ashamed. For your friendship was all fake!"
Twilight tried to hide her concern, not wanting to buy any of Ryu's words. "You never did get it Twilight Sparkle. The only thing you've learned is that friendship betrays you, and that destruction is all you need. And you got that from a group of five (Fluttershy is shown almost crying) heartless, (Pinkie pie is shown feeling her heart sink) emotionless, (Rarity is shown scoffing at Ryu's words) greedy, (Applejack is shown ready to take on Ryu) lying, (Rainbow dash is shown getting frustrated with Ryu) group of double crossers."
Ryu's words sank hard into Twilight's heart and filled her with the most pain she's ever felt. She held back her tears the best she could, knowing that she couldn't let the others know how betrayed she felt, especially after she'd just guilted them. Ryu was more than aware of her feelings however, and held his claw out with a menacing look. "Join me Twilight. Join me and I'll give you all of the proper treatment you need. Something they purposefully failed to provide you."
Twilight looked down at a terrified Spike, knowing that she couldn't abandon him. At least...not without something to do with his life. She spawned a scroll and handed it to him, looking at him with concern. "If something happens to me, I want you to follow these instructions. It'll lead you to someone who can help you save anyone from the darkness." Twilight shed a tear as she then faced Ryu. "If I'm gonna leave my best friend, and adoptive brother behind, I at least want him to save me if he chooses to."
Spike started crying silently upon those words with Twilight hesitating as she held her hoof out, much to everyone's shock. Ryu smiled with honor as he grabbed Twilight's hoof and then turned her into a dark being, but not before she called over to Spike, who was backing away from her. "Don't forget to travel to the being in the scroll!"
As the last word was shouted, the screen went to white, indicating Twilight's fate.
A campfire was shown with someone throwing a stick into it, with it then showing that it was Rainbow dash. She seemed a bit sour about the whole event, feeling that she was responsible for it. "Well we bucked up."
"Language Rainbow." Applejack reminded Rainbow dash, knowing that it wasn't appropriate at the time. "What we have to focus on now is how we can save Twilight, rather than how we indirectly helped this Ryu character get into her head. I won't lie though. I wish we could take away what we did."
Spike was looking over a cliff as Rarity walked up to him with concern in her voice. "Spike, I hope you know that none of us would've ever intended on what happened to Twilight."
"I know." Spike sighed as he thought about the scroll Twilight gave to him. "I still wanna save her though, and I have to go to whoever this guy is in order to find out why." Spike stood up, determined to save Twilight at any cost. "I'll need at least two of you to come with me though. You up for it?"
"Oh darling, of course." Rarity almost instantly replied. "Of course I have the boutique to look after, but I can always have Owlowiscious look after it for me."
Rainbow dash flew over to Spike, hoping he could joinin too. "Yeah. And I'm sure the other pegasi could take care of whether patrol for me." Spike smiled, glad to see that Rainbow dash and Rarity were on board.
Illustrations were shown as Spike narrated over the adventure he was about to go on. "And so, I left with Rainbow dash and Rarity to find this mysterious being that Twilight let me to." The pegasi were shown taking over whether patrol for Rainbow dash. "A lot's going to change while I'm gone with Rainbow dash and Rarity, but I'll be fine with it to save her." Owlowicious was shown sewing at the boutique. "And I'm not gonna lie, Owlowicious is a pretty good sewer. (Spike is shown wearing a blue scarf) He even made me a scarf for my adventure."
Shining Armor and Cadance were shown talking out what happened at the rehersal as Spike continued narrating. "Shining armor and Cadance decided to postpone the wedding until we came back with Twilight. They decided that if Twilight, the reason they even met to begin with, couldn't be at the wedding, (Shining Armor and Cadance hug each other) then it was best to wait for a later time. (Luna is shown looking up at the sky, aware of her sister's death) I also promised them and Luna come back with Celestia's life restored."
Spike was shown looking at the scroll while he was walking with Rainbow dash and Rarity through the outskirts of Equestria. "This dude also owns a demon hunting shop of sorts, so that's pretty cool. He's also got a kick butt name for it."
A dragon in his teenage years with the same coating as Spike was shown entering his shop in an Equestrian city. He walked up to his desk and sat down when the phone rang, kicking the desk and making the phone fly into his hand. The screen then cut to black as he said these four words. "Devil Dragon May Cry."
Author's Note
So, yeah. This is gonna be followed up by some stories based on Devil May Cry, with this new dragon as the protagonist of them. After some thinking, I decided to make this a prolouge story for some other stories I had planned while writing this. It'll basically show how the characters get to where they are in the future stories, rather than just having them be there with nothing to do. I hope you're all willing to give this follow up stories a shot.
