Unloved
You can run, but you can't die
Previous ChapterNext ChapterMy rifle was pointed at the door of the footsteps. I aligned the backup iron sights on top of the carrying handle of the MSAR rifle. Fluttershy grabbed my backpack behind me. She was shaking even more now. I too was shaking, with my sights swaying all over the place.
The door slowly opened. I got a glimpse of what looked like leather boots and a blood stained apron. Before I had the chance to squeeze the trigger, a blinding white light overtook us....I passed out from the incident. God only knows how long I was out for...
When I finally reached a state of consciousness, I found myself on a metal bed. It was clearly used for hospital operations. I tried to get myself up on my own, but collapsed from severe pain back onto the operating table.
My eyes were bloodshot, my clothes bloodied, my gear was gone, and it felt like something was...missing...from my body that I’ve never felt before on my right backside.
There was a stream of encrusted blood descending from my nose and ears, and my heart was constantly pumping blood though open cuts throughout my body. I knew I was close to death.
Fluttershy was on the opposite side of the room from me, in shackles and chains mounted onto a wall. She only had minor cuts and bruises from being dragged, but thank god she was in good health. She gained consciousness and saw my condition.
“OH SWEET CELESTIA!” she screamed at the top of her lungs.
The shackles and chains where loose from rusting conditions within the room. With little effort, she broke herself free from the wall. A look of sadness overcame her, as her eyes filled with watery tears as she tried to help me up. My vision was blurry. My head was swaying from the lack of blood in my body, but I could still make out details as I regained my vision.
I barely stood on my two feet with Fluttershy’s arm supporting me. She had incredible balance as she could walk with her two back hooves with ease. She was about as tall as me when she stood up on her hind legs. With the help of her balance and support, I stumbled on my own two feet while clutching my side in pain.
I looked around the room for my gear. We were located within a small room as my vision cleared and my senses were drawn back to me. I looked at the shackles and chains she broke out of. There were two body incinerators to the left of her chains. My guess was, after whatever was done dismembering me, was going to throw me in there with Fluttershy.
To the left of the incinerators was a sink filled with blood and a paint brush sitting on the counter. God, whoever did this to us had fucked up head problems. Toward the end of the operation table located behind me was a diagram of a human torso, complete with internals...Probably used as a guided diagram on me. What I didn’t realize that there was bloody gibblets at the head of the operation table.
I analyzed the table...and realized they were my own. I covered my mouth and became sick, as I felt under my shirt and felt the details of fresh stitches along the side of my abdomen. Behind the table was a fridge, probably used for storing body parts. We didn’t bother to look inside anyway. To the side of the fridge was an empty metallic stool with a bookshelf complete with medical science, doctor letters, human and horse anatomy.
What caught my eye in this room, was an old round rusted lever. We tried the door but there was no budge. I leaned up against the wall near the bookshelf, and pointed over to the lever. I was weak and could barely speak for myself.
“Pull…..pull that lever down”. I said, while barely lifting my pointer finger.
Fluttershy rushed over to the lever and did as she was told. The door slowly opened as I attempted to lean on Fluttershy as support, nearly missing the ground. Luckily, she caught me as we shuffled out of the room. Fluttershy looked to her right and covered her mouth with her hoof, eyes widened. I shifted my head to the right and saw a gruesome sight.
To the right of us, was a man behind bars, impailed on a hanging meat hook, but the worst thing was....he was still alive. His mouth was melted shut and his legs were completely gone, as if someone crudely sawed them off. I saw salt crystals on the wounds of his legs where it apparently clotted to stop the bleeding. There was nothing we could do for that poor soul.
A door parallel to the room we were located in, was in front of us. I tried the door, but the locking mechanism was broken. I prayed to god that her friends were not in there, suffering the same fate as this man and I did. We had no choice...but to move on.
We shuffled to our left where we saw more of those metallic candles placed on pedestals on a rising flight of stairs. Painfully and forcefully, we asended upward to another landing. Halfway of the staircase to the right of us was another door. The lock on this damn thing was broken, as we were forced to move onward. As we reached the top landing, another gruesome scene confronted us.
A metal wall opened in front of us, revealing a mutilated corpse. We saw another human with ropes bounded on its hands. It’s skull cap was completely missing, with the top of the brain exposed. Its ribcage was completely bare, and below it revealed its spinal cord. The lower section of its body was completely gone. Fluttershy looked away, as we traveled up to another landing up the flight of stairs.
Another metallic door was to the right of us as I attempted to open it, but with no luck. We finally reached the top of the stairs, where a rotted portrait of Mary and baby Jesus stood before us. The odd thing was....baby Jesus is looking up to Mary with pure blackened eyes. This was an obvious mocking of an infamous religious symbol. To the right of the portrait, was a leg hanging and what looked like a human liver on the table on a cupboard. Below the portrait, was a cabinet with a note on the headboard. The scribbling on the note was extremely illiterate, but it read:
Doctor’s Note
Prat of signaurcl thuineqce braek tohugrh
The bcak tehn I sild the irntmsneut over.
I satb and move form side to side to cut the bairn in the preurocde.
Fluttershy glanced up at me with worry.
“Wha....What does that mean?”
I had enough energy to speak.“Thi.'.s thing that were dealing with thinks it’s a surgeon. It must be dismantling people for food or....it's own studies. Lets carry on and find you friends Flutt...” I lost my breathe at that last sentence from the pain on my side.
She saw that my condition was worsening.
“We have to hurry and find you help, you cannot go for long in this condition.” Fluttershy said as she supported me back onto her shoulders. I nodded in dizziness as we moved on.
We contiuned out of a door left to the portrait. There before us was narrower room with rotted shelves, that had some of my gear on it. It had my missing vest. Luckily, my Glock 19 was still holstered within the vest, complete with it's mags. The other shelf contained my backpack, but we decided to temporarily leave it there until I can regain my strength.
Below the shelf was another mutilated corpse, like if some kind of vicious animal tore it completely up. Thankfully...it was human and wasn't one of her friends. The rusted metal doors that we kept running into, all contained broken locks, with no cause or explanation. Down the hall was another wooden gothic door that I attempted to open. I almost tripped when we saw sections of the floor missing and exposing bare dirt. As I opened the gothic door, there stood before us...a solid brick wall.
“The fuck is this?” I grumbled as I dragged my head upward.
We couldn’t do anything about this.....bizarrly placed brick wall, so we moved along. A small portrait of a mummy was next to the brick wall. We walked into the next room, where large wooden containers with blood stains and large openings of rotting flesh stenched the air. To the left of the room, was two small blue bottles of a fluid of some sort. I opened one of these bottles...A blue liquid spilled out and absorbed through my hand. I felt my condition improve slightly better, as my wounds felt like they were closing in my body. There was also an ambient green glowing helmet looking thing. I attempted to pick it up, and it shattered in my hands. My skin slightly hardened when this occured.
“Let’s try to find more of these things." Whatever these things were improved my condition. She nodded, as I regained some of my strength. There were two holding chambers to the left of a large bloodied box. One contained opened shackles and chains, while the other contained a disfigured body with a wooden bucket of blood below it. To the side wall of the body was a skull embedded in the wall, where my hand caselessly hit it. It’s mouth opened, as something moved within the house.
A door opened to the opposite wall of the bloody wooden box that revealed a mechanical gear room. Electrical conduit and an outlet box were exposed in this room. Fluorescent lights flickered, as we saw three gear wheels that were exposed within a machine. The gears were twiching within this box, as an axel was exposed.
Fluttershy analyzed the gears and said to me “I bet...we need a gear to complete this machinery.” She was so naive when it came to obviousness like this situation. I agreed, while swaying my head slightly from the lack of blood “I’ll be sure to keep an eye out.”
I was a little bit better on my own now. Fluttershy decided to walk on all four. I shuffled back to my backpack from the the other room. The blue liquid was slowly taking effect, as my strength replentished within my body. We opened up another wooden gothic door. I withdrew my Glock 19 and pointed it toward the wooden doorway at the top of the stairs, as we walked our way upwards.
As I pursued to open the wooden door, a large demonic furry bi-pedal pink goat like monster roared and charged at me. I squeezed a round while falling backwards, while a portal relinquished this monster into thin air. Fluttershy was shaking again as she slid behind me. We walked into a new room from the top of the staircase.
Behold a kitchen in front of us that contained with one of the worst smells in the world; Comming from the sink. The sink was buzzing with flies gorged with rotting flesh with maggots spilling out of it. We both turned our heads where I noticed a small window, framed with another one of those brick walls covering the outside world. More gibs and a metallic candle were located on a kitchen table. There was a larger wooden door in front of us, as I opened it slowly.
There before us was two human skinned faces pinned on the wall. This looked like something directly out of a House of a 1000 Corpses...except it was...real. I told myself that this was just a horrible nightmare. I pleaded to myself to wake up from it. We walked left of the skinned face and made our way to a gargoyle styled door, with an old style ring doorknob handle. We ventured into another mechanical like room. Metal boxes, wooden crates and more mutilated bodies were contained in here. A odd looking personal mirror was mounted along the side of a wall.
“Hm...what a strange looking mirror.” I holstered my Glock 19 and looked deep into the mirror.
An overwhelming sense for both of us to touch the mirror befounded us. I placed my hand on the flat plane as she placed her hoof below my legs, as we were transported into somewhere else. Somewhere...dark.
