In search of a close friend

Reality became distorted within seconds as our world deteriorated right before our eyes.

“Oh no, what’s happening?” Fluttershy said as she grabbed my leg in worry. I squatted down to her height, and placed my arm around her as I withdrew my Glock yet again.

We were transported into the same room with the strange looking mirror, with the same mutilated corpses. This time however, the shadows of skinned faces illuminated the room we were in. A marble ceramic door was in place of the gargoyle door we’ve entered. A large medkit with a whole pack of that blue fluid was located near the skinned faces. As more of my body absorbed this liquid, It felt like I could move more swifly on my own. I felt somewhat normal again, but still had that...missing feeling from within my body.

When we opened the marble ceramic door were stumbled into a rusted maze of interconnecting cages. This place had hundreds of trapped tortured humans embedded behind prison bars within the stone walls. We decided to advance toward another ceramic door, where we heard the buzzing of chainsaws. Shit, I did not like what was comming our way.

“Stay back Flutters!” Good thing I said that, because the door opened with three demonically posessed humans charging directly at us.

I emptied two rounds into their chests as they yelled in pain while faceplanting the metal cage. We persued though the door, when two pink ugly looking bi pedal demons roared and sprinted forward to the left of us.

I emptied the rest of my mag in these pink things, as two rounds wasn’t enough to bring them down. This room containted another metallic candle sitting on a wooden desk. To the left of us ,was a type 3 ceramic plated chest body armor, abandoned from a search party member. I'm not exactly sure at the time why someone would leave such a valuable piece of armor behind, but now wasn't the time for asking questions. I wore the carrier plates under my vest as we continued on down a hallway.

Fluttershy reached her hoof to the handle of another ceramic door, as a demonic carved stone door opened abruptly behind us. I pushed Fluttershy to the left as she faced this door, and I darted to the right. Gunshots wizzed right besides us while we heard more chainsaws buzzing. A group of drone like formal humans looked around in confusion from the new room. I emptied my second mag into a group of four formal humans and two possessed chainsaw humans.

The formal humans had an odd looking rifle I’ve never seen before. I picked it up and looked over the new rifle. I located the mag release and charging handle of this new weapon. Fluttershy looked around and found 5 preloaded 30 round mags on the bodie. We continued onwards.

A flight of downward metallic steps complete with another metallic candle stood before us. At the end of this hallway was another ceramic door. We pushed onwards. Our enviorment flashed before us. We moved forward to the right. Two more chainsaw wielding posessed humans charged as us. I quickly double tapped two rounds into their chest. They both faceplanted the ground as we continued on.

Another corridor with a wooden gothic door was to the right of us. Before entering this door, I placed myself to the left of the door as fluttershy was to the right. I kicked open the door, and a low demonic growl filled the room. A grey, bony like humanoid figure hissed and threw a yellow fireball at me. I dropped to the floor and emptied 5 rounds into its chest. This demon grunted and fell to the floor while I saw, what looked like, a spirit leave it’s body. Nothing else to see in here besides a old grandfather clock and common bedroom furniture.

We continued down the hallway where a pair of rusted metallic bar slammed in front of our faces. A metal door opened behind us. Fluttershy scurried behind me. I planted myself to the right of the wall and pointed the rifle in the opposite direction of the corridor.

Five flaming skulls hissed while flying right besides my face, singeing some hairs on my head. All five of them took 3 rounds before they imploded.

We traveled down the corridor where the flaming skulls were located. To the right of us was another gothic wooden door, to the left was a notorious rusted metal door with a broken lock. We went though the wooden door. At the end of the room facing us, was my long gone MSAR rifle blocked by a metal cutout of a wall. A pink demon opened the door to the left of us. I fell backwards and emptied the rest of my magazine into it. Fluttershy was playing it safe from these sudden surprises, and stood near the wooden doorway. I

walked though the narrow pathway where the pink demon emerged from. At the end of the hall was a narrow section of bricks removed...revealed a decaying torn open body. As I looked at the body, I noticed some distingusihable features. Then it hit me, It was one of the members of the search party!

“Flutters! You better come in here!” I yelled back to her. She came barging though the door and instantly gasped, as she too recognized the body. My god...what kind of monsters where we facing here?

I opened the door leading to my MSAR rifle. As I attempted to go toward the rifle on the table, a door behind me opened as a door opened opposite to the metal cutout. A shadowy figure with red glowing eyes squatted in a attack position where I turned around. Without hesitation, I emptied four rounds into the creature.

“Ryan, look out!” Fluttershy yelled from the doorway. Two red fireballs with an after image trailed to the right of my sholder. One hit me strait in the chest. It knocked me flat on my ass as I spun around 180 degrees.

Fluttershy reached for my MSAR rifle as she squeezed a few rounds into the shadow figures, standing on her back hooves. They dropped dead to the floor.

“Are...you alright?” She offered her hoof as I grabbed it, regaining my posture.

“Yeah, the body armor absorbed most of the impact thank god.”

There was a slight first degree burn on my chest, but nothing serious.More importantly I saw how well she took down those monsters.

“Look, why dont you hold onto my rifle for now on?" I said to her before we moved onward.

MSAR’s and the line of Steyr Aug rifles had elongated trigger guards where a ponies pointed hoof can easily access the trigger. It only made sense for her to use the rifle.

“Okay.” Fluttershy said in an assertive voice. That's more like it, Flutters.

The broken locked metal door was now wide open after this event. We continued though the door where three more shadow figures readied in their combat stance. Fluttershy took the one to the left and I took the two to the right. The three of them collapsed as we moved onward. Another infamous gothic wooden door was in front of us in this deteriorating looking office room we were located in.

We continued though a curved hallway were he heard what sounded like sizzling meat on a grill. Before us, floated a giant red blob with a green uni eye and blue internal mouth with razor sharp teeth. It launched a electro-static ball at us. We both darted backwards as three flaming skull wizzed through the doorway. Another electro-static ball hit a flamming skull and splashed onto the other two. The three flamming skulls suddenly lost interest in us and charged at the the giant red blob.

“Wait...Fluttershy, hold your fire." I couldnt believe what I was seeing with my own eyes. The three monsters were fight the giant red blob! One of the skulls charged at its green eye, as it became instantly blinded. The red blob gnauled at one of the skull, and it imploded. Another electro-static ball flew out of its mouth as it hit the other skulls. It imploded as well. The giant blob opened its mouth toward us, as we unloaded 8 rounds from our rifles. The thing deflated and hit the floor with its interals spilling out.

Thank god I taught Fluttershy all of the basics of rifle handling back in Equestria. She reloaded and inserted a fresh mag in the MSAR. I did the same as well for my rifle. The door opened at the end of the curved hallway. Metallic chairs where facing in odd directions as we sprinted down the hallway. We continued down the corridor to the dead possessed chainsaw humans as we steered to the right. A pink demon, a few brown humanoids, and a a shadow figure all snarled at us.

We unloaded half of our magazines into the demons. I noticed another gothic wooden door and opened it. This room contained a bony grey humanoid with two shadow figures. We emptied another 5 rounds into the creatures. We contined down into a room with a water leak.

This new room we were in smelled awful. The ground was flooded with stagnant water, with metallic candles lit up a push button switch on the other side of the narrow corridor. Metal bars slammed behind us yet again.

“Damn it! Another trap....Wanna do the honors of pressing this switch?” I said in uncertainty to Fluttershy.

“Um...Sure” Fluttershy said in uncertainty in response. A dozen brown humanoids hissed at us from behind as we jumped backwards. I emptied my whole mag while Flutters did the same. I was down to one mag left, while Fluttershy had only two mags left.

We continued around a curved pathway into a room with two gray humanoids with a large, 8 foot tall goat standing in the center. It roared at us. Fluttershy aimed at the chest while I aimed at it's goat legs. It collapsed to the floor while the two gray bony humanoids lauched their yellow fireballs at us. Thankfully, they hit the goat thing in the process while it tried to regain it's posture. It roared in anger as it grasped the ankles of the bony gray humanoids, as they hissed and started clawing at the downed goat thing. It managed to take out one while the other tore open its neck where green blood spewed out. I aimed at the head of the surviving gray bony humanoid and it collapsed to the ground.

There was another pressure switch behind the monsters, as Fluttershy moved forward to press it. Another door opened as we retreated back into the curved path. A pink demon and a mixture of humanoids hissed at us from within another room. After the infighting was over due to the brown humanoids clumsiness, I was completely dry of ammo. Fluttershy had half a mag left.

“I think you better take it back, since it is your rifle”. Fluttershy handed me my old rifle flat on her hooves.

I had no choice but to agree with her at this point. “Good idea”.

It was good feeling finally having my old MSAR returned to me. I slung it over my sholder, while discarding the odd looking rifle on the floor. I switched back to my Glock 19 which still had a few mags left ready for it.

We continued to a room with a lava pit located behind bars with a staircase spirling upwards. A Few more brown humanoids stood in our way, but dropped with relative ease with the 9mm rounds fired at them. Up the round staircase layed on the floor another search party memeber behind a cell door that ended up with an unfortunate fate.

Up the next landing behind another cell was...Rarity. We finally found one of her friends! This was a major sight of relief off of both of us.

“Rarity!” Fluttershy shouted with excitement while Rarity was bounded to the prison wall.

Rarity was in shackles and chains as well. Within her cell, was a wooden pale with stagnant water and a metallic candle.

“Flut...Fluttershy! Oh darling it’s most welcoming to see you!” She said while the bar doors of her cell moved upwards with the use of her magic.

She removed the shackles off her hooves with her magic and hugged Fluttershy tightly. This was the most heart warming thing I saw for awhile in this gloomy shit hole, as it gave me some personal encouragement.

“I see you brought your tall friend with you, it’s very well a pleasure to see you Ryan.” She stood up to me and hugged me as well.

“Ditto.” I smiled back at her.

While we left her cell, an haunting echo of a older woman’s laugh traveled above us. We all glanced upwards but soon dismissed it.

“Oh darlings, it was agony waiting within that cell. That man over in the other cell was...escorting me out of this prison while those brown beasts captured us. There was nothing I could possible do to save him...when I fainted and woke up again within this horrid cell. You should have felt how thirsty I was dear. They gave me this hideous brown water while I was mounted to these horrible chains. I am absoluelty parched and starved darling." She looked up at me after her complaint, which she was legendary and talented at doing. "Could you mind sparing me something to eat, dear?”

Fluttershy continued after her. “I’m getting kinda hungry too...” Fluttershy said looking up to me. I though for a minute while I looked back at the girls, with their convincing faces of hunger directed toward me. Then it hit me, I took off my backpack and reached inside.

“I’ll break out some of my ration bars. That should at least satisfy our hunger for awhile." Ask any survivalist or military veteran about ration bars, and they will tell you they taste like puke. However, it tasted like heaven to us, since it’s been awhile for all of us since when we had our last meals. After discarding our wrappers into the lava pit, we moved toward the top of the steps onto a wooden gothic door. Before we entered yet another gloomy curved corridor, we paused for a bit.

I scouted ahead of the girls and saw another red blob, flaming skulls, and more brown humanoids.
“Ok girls, listen up. We’re going to have to run though this, I do not have enough ammo to take them all on. I’ll fire a warning shot which will hopefully cause some attention to me from the monsters. Hopefully these things are stupid enough to launch a fireball and hit one of their allies, causing them to fight among themselves. After that, follow me. We’re going to sprint to the other side of this corridor.” They both nodded in agreement silently.

I fired the warning shot where a mix of hissing and demonic growls came toward our direction. The plan worked well, the red blob was clusmy enough to fight with the other monsters, while I’d blazed though the crowd with the remaining ammo I had in my MSAR. I transitioned to my sidearm while Rarity used her magic to pull a round metallic lever during our run. I flipped over a metal chair and took cover with the girls right beside me.

An elevator hastily lowered itself at the end of the hall. While I fired half of a magazine of the Glock 19 back into the crowd of monsters. An elevator rose to the ground level. The elevator rose rapidly as we jumped on it. We were raised into the small room, with a ceramic door that Fluttershy previosly opened. Again we we back where we started, in the maze of inter linking metal cages. We returned to the odd mirror, and grabbed both of the girls hooves as I pressed on forward into the mirror...
