Unloved
I await for you
Previous ChapterNext ChapterWe returned to the room with the strange mirror and the mutilated bodies. Rarity glanced over to the right of us in disgust of the horrid scene. She must have seen her fair share of unspeakable horrors, while she was contained within her cell. On a small metal platform in front of the mirror where we stood, was the missing gear for the gear. Fluttershy recognized the missing gear.
“This must be the missing gear...located from the machinery downstairs.” Fluttershy said looking up to me. Rarity had no idea what she was talking about, but went along with it.
I placed the gear in my backpack, and we made our way down to the gear machinery room. Right about mid point of where the pinned faces were located, a sound of echoing footsteps rambled thoughout the place. This took us all by surprise.
“Get down!” I shouted, as Rarity and Fluttershy squatted behind me.
I pointed the Glock 19 to the ceiling to the sound of the footsteps. Whatever was up there walking around, had to be the thing who imprisoned all of us here. I feared It could come down at any moment from the third story of the house. The footsteps stopped midway in the main room. Absolute silence hit us like a lead baloon after this event.
“Darling, let’s please hurry up and get out of here.”
Once we made it to the gear room, I let Fluttershy place the gears into its corresponding place. The gears were now all working in unison, as all of the houses mechanisms inside the wall were now working. We walked back into the main hall of the house, now facing a brick wall like we saw back near the gear room. It was time to make a decision, as two open rooms we're located to the left and right of us. I went with my gut instinct and chose the right entryway.
“I think we should go right and continue our search from there” I said in uncertainty.
The loud footsteps returned from the ceiling, echoing thoughout the house once again.
As we made to our right, there was a human head impailed on a spike near a line of wooden drawers. We chose to ignore it and moved on into the room to the right. This room looked like a...makeshift indoor graveyard of sorts. More of those ambient metallic candles lit up the room. Rusted chains hung from the ceiling, and to the right of the room was a robed statue with that insignia we saw back in the cell. It looked like an upside down trident, connected to a cross with the base of the cross connected to a chain.
"Ryan...look...more of those symbols are behind those bars.” Fluttershy pointed with her hoof. All three of us walked over to the bars that blocked off a well. To the left was one of those skull switches that my hand bumped into previously.
“Be careful darling.” Rarity remarked as I carelessly pressed the skull switch. The bars lowered as all three of us peered down into a well. A well from within a house? This well from what we saw as we peered down, looked liked it never ended. Kinda like a endless black abyss, but instead of black...it glowed an ambient blue.
“Hang on girls, let me get out another glowstick." I told the girls.
This was Rarity’s first time ever seeing one of these chemical lights. “It’s very...illuminous darling. I wouldn’t mind having a few of these magic sticks myself.” She said with a star gazed fascination as I gave it a good shook.
I just couldn't understand their fascination with simple things. When I dropped it over to the side of the well, the glowstick defied gravity on its descent as it fell deeper into the well. It was...like it was floating downward at a slow pace, nothing like anything the girls and I ever saw before. I though for a minute.
“We'd better go down there. I have a feeling that one of your friends is trapped somewhere down there.” I told to Fluttershy and Rarity.
“Wha...What me?” Rarity said in defiance.
“I’ll...I’ll go first. I have wings and...I could always fly out.....in case anything happens.” Fluttershy purposed to the group.
I protested to their responses with my own plan. “No, we go down together as a group, you girls already know how easy it is to get trapped around here. We almost lost each other just trying to find Rarity.”
I holstered my Glock 19 and purposed back to the girls with my plan. “Rarity...stand in front of me. I’ll hold you as we descend downwards. Fluttershy can grab my backpack and fly us out in case anything happens”.
Rarity though for a minute with her hoof up to her chin, and hastily confronted to the idea of being in my arms. Pffff haha.
Fluttershy agreed as it seemed like the most rational choice at the time.
Rarity sprung up in front of me and wrapped her hooves around my shoulders, and smiled directly at my face with her seductive bedroom eyes. "Why hello...darling." Oh Jesus, I thought to myself. Flutters took a good hold of my backpack and prepared her wings for flight.
“Ok, here we go” as I walked to the edge of the well. I gave a little jump off, and we floated downwards.
As we floated down, we saw a dim yellow light comming from a metallic candle. As I finally landed on my feet, I kneeled down so Rarity could get off. Fluttershy detached herself from my back while Rarity used my knee as a step stool to get down.
This new enviorment was....haunting.The air had the aroma of abandonment and occultism. The place was filled with books and achient hieroglyphics that surrounded the walls. An ambient hymn echoed though the masonry. A misty blue light filled the atmosphere of this place.
We stepped forwatd as Rarity and Fluttershy looked around at the architecture in curiousity. Menacing robed statues were to the sides of us as we stepped off of a wooden platform. A metallic candle layed in front of us and revealed another dead search party member, still clutching his customized Ar-15 by his side. I found 9 fresh Pmags and a bag of loose loose 5.56 rounds.
I picked the Ar-15 up, inspected the Eotech and weapon light, and chambered a round.
We all looked up from the body to a gigantic stone carving in front of us. A fosaken demonic head was scultped into the wall, with grimancing teeth and bioluminescent blue eyes that could pierce your soul.
“I hope this place isnt a worship center for the occult”. I said to the girls while they seemed stargazed by this fosakened monster.
More and more evidence crossed us, as this place seemed like a prayer center for the wicked. Fleshy walls with gothic bars, more mutilated bodies hung from ropes, hodded stone figurines, and worshipping candles on golden skull stood populated in our surroundings. As we progressed into a main hall, 5 of those brown humanoids hissed and snarled.
“Back! Girls!” I yelled as the advanced from both sides of us. Fluttershy and Rarity darted to the left behind me as I double tapped rounds into the torsos of the brown humanoids.
“Clear...It’s safe girls." They darted right behind me.
This main hall of the worship grounds had more wooden gothic doors and bookshelves filled with ancient texts. We decided to try the wooden door to the right of us, and to work our way to the left door. We heard snarling comming from this door, so I told the girls to wait behind until I cleared the room of any hostile threats. I slowly opened the door and 7 of those brown humanoids were facing the other way. A wooden table was to the left of me as a darted to take cover behind it. I picked them off with two rounds to the chest while taking cover from incomming fireballs.
As the room cleared of the brown humanoids from the Ar-15, a mystical robed figure floated toward me and chanted an unspoken language. A swirling trail of magic left it’s hands as it progressed toward me. I ducked, and emptied 3 rounds into the hodded figure. The figure imploded as an demonic presense floated upwards and vanished. Yep, defently the work of the occult here.
I called the girls back as they raced right up to me. We made our way to the other side of the hall as two more black robed figures were both mumbling chants. I emptied the rest of my mag into them, and reloaded. The firefight skirmish comming from this room alerted more of the robed figures. One of the opened the door and left an after image dodging some of my rounds. One of magic attacks casted from another of the robed figures hit a brown humanoid in the back. It snarled and started clawing back at the figure. It imploded as it took out the other figure and the remaining humanoids. \
“Not to bright, are they dear”? Rarity questioned as she looked up at me.
“Not at all, sweetheart." She loved being called sweetheart by me, as I would do so for my own enjoyment of flirting with her.I fear that she would fall into a relationship to damn easily, if the wrong guy ever crossed her way.
We continued onto the next room where more of those pink demons, brown humanoids, and dark robed figures awaited us. After our skirmish I pressed on a white skull switch which revealed more of the demons.
“Run!” as I said when another wall opened up to the right of the skull switch.
We sprinted back to the other room with the dead demons. We heard more monster infighting sounding from the other room while I pointed the Ar-15 to the door. Two wounded black robed figures raised their hands for an attack, but I was too quick for them. We continued back into the room where a larger skull switch was mounted in the room. I carefully pressed it where I heard Fluttershy shout ”Runnn!” It was a miracle we made it to the other side, as a ton of those monsters clawed our way toward us.
I emptied three rounds and shoved a brown humanoid down a flight of stairs it was blocking. The monsters were firing at us from behind. Two grey bony humanoids awaited us and launched their yellow balls. One nearly stuck Rarity while the other completely obliterated the remains of my body armor. I emptied 5 rounds into each of the monsters.
A metallic candle revealed another white skull switch. As we asended up the stairs toward the fray of monsters, we saw two new monsters we’ve never seen before. One was a tall 8 foot brown skeleton with dried up red flesh around the pelvis, and with what looked like a metal brestplate. The other was a fat slob with green eyes and two large twin fireball launchers. A rocket detached from one the shoulders of the brown skeleton and hit a nearby wall. Sharapel shattered all over the place. This angered the flat slob demon as it pelted it's flabby skin, and they began fighting. The flat slob remained victorious in the aftermath, but its celebration was short live with three rounds into it's face.
We made our way back to the main hall and worked our way to the two doors to the left, starting with the door to the right. Two of the hooded robed figures awaited at the end of the room of right door. I emptied four rounds into both, when something to the sides of the interior doorway caught my attention.
A pair of floating bloodshot eyes with yellow irises floated above a metallic candle. Surrounding the eyes was a crudely made green pentagram.
“These monsters sure do a odd taste in interior design, darling.”Rarity commented as she observed the odd structures. I smirked at her, and Fluttershy quietly giggled to herself.
At the end of the room was another large white skull switch. I told the girls to wait in the main hall. After pressing a switch, it revealed a series of white skull switches with more monsters waiting in front of them. After the final skull switch was pressed by me, I told the two of them to barricade the entrance with the bookshelves to the sides of us. Rarity used her magic to knock down one in front of the doorway, while I helped Fluttershy knock over the other. The surviving monsters from infighting were trapped in the room of series skull switches. Activating both of the switches revealed a thick metal door at the end of the main hall.
I opened the thick door where a formal human with a shotgun awaited us. I dolphin dived to the floor while shooting at the torso of the formal human. It moaned in pain and collapsed to the floor.
The three of us inched our way into....what was a padded mental asylum of elongated cells. The metal door slammed behind us as the door wouldn’t budge. We had no choice but to move forward to a wooden bureau with a note on top, and of coarse, a metallic candle on the cells floor. It was the same illegible writing as the doctor’s note, but it seemed this one was directed toward me. I read aloud the note to the girls:
Tihs day has flnilay cmoe
Taht’s Rihgt – The day you and I wlil meet.
I was aalwys thinking of you, hree in tihs gmlooy clel.
I never even kenw your nmae or face uintl tdaoy.
I dropped the note on the ground of the cell and looked blankly at one of the walls.
“D..Darling? We will all get out of here in one piece. We’ve made it this far together and I’m sure the rest of the four girls are still waiting for us.” Rarity said to try to confort me.
“We...can't give up now, Ryan. Your doing me a world of wonders by doing this for us. Don't let that note bother you...sweetie...and lets move on”. Flutershy said after Rarity's encouragemen.
“...Right, let’s go.”
........That one note still haunts me to this day.
As we continued further into the cell, a formal human growled and fired off a round from its shotgun that its pellets skitted inches from my face. I grabbed the end of its warm shotgun barrel and unloaded three rounds in its chest. The whispering returned as we made our way foward out of this damned cell, while a slender alien looking demon charged as us. It disappeared in a flash of white light before I could aim at it.
A metal door to the side of us with the infamous broken locked door, opened up to reveal a brick wall as we pushed forward. When we finally reached the end of the cell labyrinth, I took a sigh of relief, and opened another thick metal door that was in front of us.
We reached a room where the forsaken demonic stone sculptures surrounded the entire ceiling. Their eyes were emitting a burning red color instead of blue. More of the stone robed statues surrounding us, holding the insignia on a chain that covered the masonry walls. The floor was scattered with what looked like gravemarkers with hieroglyphics. In the far middle of a room, two stone men were praying to a large robed figure holding the insignia. In the center of the room was a white skull switch.
On the other side of the switch, Twilight Sparkle laid sitting, her front hooves bonded by a rope to the switch.
“Twilight!” both girls exclaimed in synchronization.
“Ughhh...where am I?” Twilight said drearily. She noticed the girls when her senses regained.
“Oh...Rarity! Fluttershy! Oh sweet Celestia, it’s great to see you two!." Rarity undid the ropes and the three of them hugged. Something warm inside of me was comforting during this reunion.
“Oh hey Ryan, glad you could make it!” Twilight said with a great big smile on her face.
“How did you wind up in here Twilight?” Fluttershy questioned.
“I was running an errand for Celestia when....I was called by the Everfree forest...by a voice. The voice offered me...unlimited knowledge of arcane magic, If I would follow the voice into the Everfree forest. I started to question the voice as I arrived near the everfree forest where.....I blacked out...and ended up here.” She explained to us.
“So this place is a school for arcane magic?” I asked Twilight.
“Well...not exactly. It’s a combination of things. The books I’ve read here while I was in captivity...Taught me that this is a forgotten worshipping ground for an ancient deity. It had absolute tyrannical rule over mankind and ponykind millions of years ago. The stone carvings you see up on the ceilings are a representation of the deity. They were going to use my powers of magic to reincarnate the deity back onto earth. But...since you guys are here, I think their plans have just been cancelled.” Twilight said with a smirk.
“Let’s find the three remaining girls and get the hell out of here.” I said after their reunion. The group of girls were also anxious to find their last three remaining friends.
When Rarity removed the ropes from Twilight, she didnt realize that she bumped into the skull switch. The large stone wall with the robed figure started to sink into the tiles of the floor. Out came out a large groups of demons mixed in with the black robed figures, all trying to attack us. The clumsiness of the monsters ended up into a huge bloodbath, with claws and magical spells exchanging places. Only a few remaining black robed figures survived, and were easily gunned down by my Ar-15.
We decided to do the old routine of sweeping every room going from right to left to each door, where the demonic bloodbath took place. Before we went in, I handed Fluttershy back my MSAR while I gave the task of Twilight to reload the dry magazines. After the 7 preloaded mags were in place, Fluttershy and I waited by the door. I gave her the signal, while Rarity used her magic to open the wooden gothic door.
Inside was a large meeting hall filled with brown humanoids with black robed figures. Flutters focused on the brown demons while I focused on the robed figures. After both of us depleted half of a magazine, we advanced forward to the opposite side of the room. A large wooden door was opened to reveal a room with a fireplace, with three hanging torn apart bodies to the right. To the right of the bodies was another pathway with metallic candles leading the way, with open doorways to the left and locked doorways to the right.
A group of large mummified men groaned and started toward us, while we finnished our remaining ammunition in our rifles at them. As we progressed down the dirt pathway, a door opened up to the right with three black robed figures launching their magic at us. We took them out with 8 rounds all together.
As Rarity reached for another round metallic lever at the end of the path, a brown skeleton cried out a roar to the left of us. Fluttershy dropped my MSAR and jumped behind the creature. She took a good hold of the creatures hollow skull, and snapped its neck into two. The creature lifelessly dropped to the ground in front of us.My jaw dropped from the short account that I witnessed from disbelief.
“Where the hell did you learn to do that?” I asked Fluttershy with wide eyes.
“Oh...I once did that to a grizzly bear...nothing big”.
“Yeah, I’ll never forget that incident” Twilight said rolling her eyes.
“Darling, were capable of alot of things you wouldn’t expect from a group of girls”. Rarity said with pride.
“I can very well see that.” I said adjusting myself.
A red blob hissed at all the commotion and launched a electro-static ball toward us. It barely missed twilight while I aimed at its green eye. The thing hissed and opened its mouth exposing its internals. I fired at its internals and the blob deflated to the ground. We moved on where two more of the red blobs awaited for us in the meeting hall of the worshipping grounds.
“Run though!” I said as we advanced into the room. All three of the girls crawled underneathe the enlongated table, as I ran on top, avoiding almost being swallowed by the two blobs. Rarity hastily opened the door with her magic as we ran though, slamming the door behind us.
We proceeded to the far left wooden gothic door. I opened it to reveal an archaic library while Twilight’s eyes lit up.
”Wow, look at all these books” Her curiousity got the best of her, while a brown humanoid pounced in her direction. Rarity threw the brown humanoid off of her while I squeezed a round into it's head.
This alerted a mix of more brown humanoids with grey bony humanoids. Fluttershy and I finnished the crowd off, both requiring to reload. Rarity drew my attention back to her.
“Darling, can I participate in the fray with your sidearm”? Rarity looked up to me with a convincing look.
“Ok fine, but save the last magazine in case we really need it, sweetheart”. I said while handing her the Glock 19.
“Oh yeah, another thing, Twilight, Stay behind with the girls. It’s for your own safety. That was way too close of a call." Twilight was too inexperienced in combat, as her stubborness got the best of her.
“Oh alright.” Twilight said with her ears down while she kicked some dust up with her hoof.
This aging library sure was odd as I looked around more. There were bookselves suspended from the celing with no possible way of reaching them. At the end of the library, Rarity pulled another round metallic lever which activated something in the halls. We moved to the other side of the blood bathed hallway where we opened a large pair of wooden doors. We traveled downwards a flight of stairs where another fat slob growled, and readied its fire launchers at us. All three of us aimed and fired at it’s head, while brainmatter splattered behind the walls, with the fat slob collapsing to the ground.
Another round metallic lever was at the end of the pathway, which Rarity pulled. As we headed back toward another flight of stairs stairs, a red pair of glowing eyes emitted though a brick layer from a brick wall. I froze within my tracks to investigate. The girls stopped and paused for a minute while looking at me. I looked though the missing brick layer and noticed it was a white skull switch with red glowing eyes.
“Rarity, let me see that Glock for a second." I said while turning my head into her direction.
“Ok darling.” Rarity responded as the handgun levitated in front of me.
I aimed the glock at the red eyes and squeezed off a round. A wall behind us opened slowly, revealing a small secret room.
“Here, you can take it back sweetheart.” I handed the handgun back to Rarity.
We entered a small square room were a bookself was contained. A large blue spherical object rested on a table. I looked into the basketball sized blue sphere, and saw an imprisoned face wanting to break free. The face was bathed in the same blue liquid we found in the blue bottles.
“Wh..what is it?” Fluttershy asked while the girls curiously walked forward to it.
“I really have no idea. I think we should take it with us, however.”
I attempted to grab the blue sphere. The blue sphere rammed itself into my chest, knocking me flat into a wall. The container exploded in fragments while the blue liquid entered though the pores of my skin. The face was sucked right into my body. I looked down to my arms and saw my veins glowing with a blue luminescent light.
“My godness dear, are you alright?” Rarity caringly questioned while Fluttershy looked in worry over me.
“Alright?!?! Damn! That’s an understatement! I feel fantastic! We gotta find more of these things if we come across anymore!” I said while raising my voice that startled the girls.
The scars of my wounds vanished, while it felt like I could run a marathon. The feeling was similar to the feel after you pumped heavy weights at the gym and could go for a thousand reps more. The exhilarating feeling of having sex with the woman of your dreams, and...and....Ok, I should stop now.
Whatever was missing inside my body grew back. We made our way to the back of the blood bathed hall to reach the final door, which was not searched. As we opened it, a group of black robed figures speaking their unspoken touge to a group of cloaked posessed humans. Rarity and I aimed at the posessed humans while Fluttershy took out the group’s speakers.
A wall of intestines leaked out of a missing slot of bricks within another brick wall in the room. As we entered the door right to the intestine wall, Twilight ran over to the opposite wall of the doorway. She pulled the metallic round lever with her magic, alerting a few monsters with her presense. We darted out of the room and made it back to the blood bathed hallway. A door that was previously closed, now opened at the end of the hallway.
To the left of the new entryway was a blue colored key sitting to the left of us, used to open a door of unknown origin at the time. As I grasped and pocketed the key, a broken metal door opened behind us. Great, now we are in another one of those damned asylm padded mazes, with another note next to a pile of gibblets contained on a drawer. I read it aloud to the girls.

“Sick of living.......Unwilling to die” Twilight mumbled to herself.
“...I know of that poem!” Twilight exclaimed to us.
“We’ll whats it from?” I asked to her.
“It’s an infamous serial killer dated back from the late 60’s into the early 70’s. From your earth, Ryan. He was named the Zodiac Killer who claimed who have murdered 37 humans, but investigators agreed that he only had 7 victims. He...was never captured by the local authorities.”....how the hell did she know that? Too much free time I guess.
“Ah shit, a serial killer? Like we need another hole in the fucking head...” I said while crumpling the note onto the floor.
“Oh my... a serial killer.” Fluttershy said in fear to herself. Rarity’s expression was blank from horror. I had to say something to the girls.
“Ladies, do not trust anything that even remotely looks like a human for now on except for me, you got that? We can’t take any more risks by bringing back anymore crazed humans to Equestria.” The three of them silently agreed as we walked foward in the cell.
We faced a broken metal door which opened in front of us. A small room with a hundred or so skinned faces illuminated from the wall, casting out an holograpic image of itself.
“This is where we get out of here.” Twilight said facing the wall.
“How do you know that, dear?” Questioned Rarity.
“I've read in captivity in one of the books here that...If you follow into the light of a thousand faces, you’ll find your way back home.”
All three girls placed their hooves on the wall as I placed my hand correspondingly. We were sucked into the faces...
