Twilight and the others were enjoying a nice ride in the carriage supplied to them by Celestia. They all had thoughts in their heads about what they were going to do. Twilight would finally get a conversation in with the Princess, talking about anything she wanted. Applejack would set up her Apple Stand and sell anything she could. Business before pleasure, Applejack thought. Rarity would try to get into the good graces of the people of Canterlot. Truly, they were the elite that was meant for her. At least she thought so. Fluttershy would be playing with all the animals she could find, making sure to stay away from the animals in the palace. She didn't need a repeat of last year. Rainbow Dash had her eyes set on the prize of becoming a Wonderbolt at last. There was a competition being held that would test Pegasi and if they passed, they were to become Wonderbolts. Rainbow Dash squealed in anticipation.
Pinkie Pie would of course do what she did best, but would also keep an eye on her friends, her Pinkie Sense was telling her that something worse than a “Doozy” would happen. She didn't think anything of it, mainly because of Princess Celestia and Princess Luna. Two of the most powerful creatures in the land would be able to stop whatever the threat was. Pinkie stared out the window and looked at her beautiful land of Equestria. She was brought back to reality by Spike, who was pulling on her mane.
“Pinkie!” Spike said, “Are you feeling okay? You've been real quiet.” Spike said with a sad look on his face. He hated it when any of his friends were sad. All he wanted was his friends, his family, to be together to enjoy the celebration. Pinkie Pie quickly put a smile on her face.
“It's okay Spikey Wikey!” Pinkie yelled. “We're on our way to Canterlot to PARTAY!” Pinkie jumped around in pure bliss. No one could know the fear she felt. The rest of her friends yelled with her in happiness. They all discussed their plans with each other, laughing all the while and telling each other tales to shorten the trip. Rainbow Dash told the tale of the Wonderbolts and how they were formed. They were a force that was made for the sole purpose of defending Equestria. Apparently, in the old days, anyone was allowed to be recruited. By that she meant Earth Ponies and Unicorns were up for the job, as well as non pony creatures. Twilight's eye brow rose.
“So they weren't always flyers?” She asked.
“Nah, they were like, 'the Best Warriors in the Land!' and they would fight against whatever evil came their way.” Rainbow Dash said with a smile. “But now they're the team you see today, which is still awesome but I don't think they fight as much as they normally do.” Applejack snickered.
“That explains why they didn't help us when there was an imminent disaster.” Twilight nodded in agreement while Rainbow Dash was wearing a frown.
“Whatever, they're still the best flyers out there, and I'm going to join them!” Rainbow was determined that this would be the time that her dream would come true. Applejack smiled at her friend's dream.
“Okay,” Applejack said, “It's my turn for a story. This takes place a long time ago. The Apple family was known as, 'The Apple Clan.' We harvested apples of course, but we were also a clan of warriors that fought against giant monsters that wanted to burn down our orchards.” Applejack said this while posing as a, “monster.” She continued, “So there was this one warrior called, 'Applebjorn', and there was this dragon-” She looked over at Spike, who was following her story beat for beat, and acknowledged that the dragon was the bad guy in this story. “And he was tearing up the orchard something awful. So, Applebjorn used a power that somehow attracted the dragon over to him. So there he was, standing on a cliff, waiting for the dragon to come over. Applebjorn stood on the cliff wearing Equestrian Armor, made just for him. His helmet had a spike on it that acted as his weapon. The dragon roared breathing fire as he approached the cliff.” Applejack was trying her best to motion the story for her friends, who were completely lost in the story of the Apple Warrior of old. “Applebjorn stood ready for the dragon, he wouldn't dare disappoint it by running away. The dragon rose above Applebjorn, and swooped down to kill him. Applebjorn only stood there. The dragon screamed at it's prey.” Applejack saw the faces of anticipation on her friend's faces. “Applebjorn then jumped in the air, screaming all the while, and scared the dragon.”
“Hold on.” Rarity interrupted. All of her friends looked at her, angry for stopping the story. “He scared the dragon by yelling at it?”
Applejack smiled. “Eeyup, besides being a great warrior, he was known to have a powerful voice that could do many things.” Everypony nodded and motioned for Applejack to continue the story. “Anyway,” She looked at each one of her friends, making sure they weren't going to interrupt her, “the dragon faltered in flight and was surprised by this small pony pushing him back. And before he knew it, remaining still was the worst and last mistake of his life. Applebjorn jumped onto the dragons head and forced it to land. As they got closer to the ground, Applebjorn gave the dragon stabs from his lance to the dragon's head. The dragon crashed into the land below, sending Applebjorn flying who landed on his feet. The dragon tried to rise, but Applebjorn came back and slashed it's throat. The Apple Clan never had to worry about another dragon coming to mess up their orchard.” Everypony applauded to Applejack's story. Applejack did simple bows. “Thank you, thank you.” Rarity cleared her throat.
“Yes that was a great story that talked about your brutish family origins.” Applejack frowned at her friend for making a rude remark, but it was expected of her. And I'd hate to interrupt but Canterlot is in view!” All of the ponies rushed to the window to see the crowning achievement of Ponykind, the city of Canterlot.
Twilight gazed at her old home, mixed feelings returned to her. Her family and teacher were here, but she had no friends there to catch up with. But, all those negative feelings disappeared as she looked at her new friends, all here and with her. She looked back at Canterlot, with anticipation.
Orion was reading through his father's notes and kept coming back to the “Alikiin” as the dragons called it. Apparently they were ponies that could possess the magical potential of Alicorns and could master any magic of any creature in Equestria. That ranged from dragons to Alicorns, he thought. One would know the “Alikiin” from their extreme ability to summon a large amount of magic. “The only ponies with that kind of potential are the bearers of the Elements of Harmony, and they serve the princess.” Orion put his hoof to his chin. “With that power, they could just about do anything.” Orion gasped, he turned to the page about the “six keys” in the prophecy. “Six Harmony bearers, six keys! I got to get to Canterlot faster.” He leaned out the window to the ponies pulling the carriage. “Hey you guys live in 'Trottenheim' right?” The ponies nodded. “If you can get me to Canterlot as soon as possible, you never have to pay for a drink at the bar I work at for the rest of your lives.” The ponies nodded with smiles on their faces and dashed to Canterlot. Orion had a look of fear on his face. Meeting the Elements meant he had to face an old, “friend” of his. Somepony that he pushed around when he was a foal. “Sparkle, don't hold a grudge please.” He said while looking at Canterlot in his window.
