Thousands of years ago, before the time of harmony, lay a time of chaos and destruction. The Alicorns were to blame. These horrid beasts sought out destruction of all the lesser species, species that were not worthy to roam the world, and they did so freely and without hindrance. Until one day, the stars had had enough of the destructive forces of the alicorns, and saw them as a threat had they found a way to spread. The stars blessed upon this world a mighty foe against the alicorns, his name was Draco (Star constellation of the dragon, AKA Draconis). Draco was a wise and benevolent creature, who sought purification and harmony for the land, he was the first among a race known in his tongue as 'Alikiin'... The Alicorn Born... The Alikiin could only first be found as a dragon, until several hundred years after Draco, his grand son Riscor. Riscor was the final dragon Alikiin, and the only way that he could be sure that all chaos was removed from this world was to trap all the forces inside himself, The Great Sacrifice. The forces were far too great for his form, he was viciously warped into a beast of pure chaos as they passed through him. However with the last bit of harmony he had he created a portal for the forces to flow into, a portal to a place only known as Oblivion. Unfortunately, the last bit of harmony that Riscor retained was not enough for all the beasts, two remained, but when their souls were forced through Riscor all chaos in their form left them, they defeated Riscor and trapped him and all chaos he absorbed. With that the powers for the Alikiin were lost to the land. The two Alicorns left sought only divinity and equality for the world they were in. With their mighty powers untainted by chaos, a world began to form. They populated the world with various forms of creature, and made three different races in their figure, Unicorns, Pegasi, and Ponies of the Earth. The two alicorns grew to love the world and all that was in it, they named it Equestria, and they ruled it with harmony and love in their minds. The two alicorns came to know each other as Cellestia and Luna, Princesses of Equestria.
~ As told by Essan Manar
Twilight Sparkle placed the book back down on the table. “Alicorn History” the title said. It was the only volume in the set. From what she could tell, Alicorn history had been largely overlooked. Before Discord showed up, it was said that Alicorns roamed all across Equestria. But hardly anything was said about what they did during that time. Twilight placed her hoof on her chin. Maybe Princess Celestia can tell me some things, Twilight thought to herself. She placed the book in her bag, the last piece of luggage she would be bringing to Canterlot, to go see the Summer Sun Celebration. She and her friends were cordially invited by Celestia to attend. Twilight was always excited to do anything with her friends.
“Hey Twilight,” Spike, her dragon assistant called. “Are you ready or what? Everybody is waiting for you!” Twilight closed up her bag.
“Coming!” Twilight yelled. She galloped down the stairs to where her friends were waiting.
“What have you been doing Egghead?” Rainbow Dash said.
“Sorry girls, I got caught up in one of my books. It's about-” Twilight was about to continue until her friend, Applejack, stuck a hoof into Twilight's mouth.
“Nuh uh sugarcube, we can't have you go summarizing books right now.” Applejack said with a frown. “If we don't hoof it, we're going to be late! And you know how far Canterlot is from Ponyville.” Twilight pulled Applejack's hoof from her mouth and frowned at her.
“Of course I know Applejack. But fear not! I've got a teleporting spell!” All of Twilight's friends gave her a fearful look. Rarity stepped forward.
“Ahahaha, Twilight I know that you want to use that Teleporting spell, but you see I don't think it'd be such a good idea to use it right now.” Rarity was trying her best to not hurt Twilight's feelings.
“But it will get us there instantly.” Twilight said. She gave her friends a confusing look.
“Twilight, I'm going to be frank with you, that spell of yours has caused disasters.” Twilight looked at Rarity, more confused then before.
“Name one time!” Twilight shouted. Her friends all looked at her.
“That time we teleported to an alternate reality.” Rarity said first.
“That time we warped back in time.” Applejack said.
“That time we warped into Pinkie Pie's mind!” Rainbow Dash said.
“The time we warped into Clonetrooperkev's room.” Pinkie Pie said. The writer shuddered when he wrote that line.
“Or how about the time you caused a magical explosion?” Fluttershy said. Twilight sighed and surrendered.
“Fine. How are we getting there?” Twilight asked.
“Well, if you weren't so busy reading your books, you would have remembered that Celestia sent us a carriage?” Rarity said with a smile. Twilight looked off to the side and simply said,
“Oh.” The others rolled their eyes. As they made their way to the exit, Pinkie Pie did a cartwheel out the door.
“Woohoo!” The Pink pony screamed. “The Summer Sun Celebration is my favorite kind of Summer Celebration! Well except for birthdays, cookouts, and that thing that Clonetrooperkev said to try, binge parties.” The writer regretted telling Pinkie about that one.
*Note: Pinkie Pie encourages you to drink responsibly.
Twilight and her friends loaded their luggage, attached Applejack's Apple Cart, got aboard the carriage and went off to see the Summer Sun Celebration for the second time since their Friendship began. But elsewhere, in the city of Trottenheim, was a pony named Orion, who was searching through his father's books to solve an ancient mystery.
“Dad said that this day would come. Question is, what's going to happen? His father was a researcher in Alicorn History and was a very well respected member in the field, until he went insane and talked about the “end of the world.” Orion was a bartender, he simply wanted to have ponies come in and be happy. But while visiting his father, he was told of an impeding doom that was supposed to happen today during the Summer Sun Celebration. His father, who had a heart condition, died shortly after he was told to stop it. Orion had no idea if it was true or not, but he owed it to his father to check and see if his theory had any legitimacy to it. He eventually came across a notebook with the language of the dragons written in it with a translation. He went to last page that had writing on it. He read aloud.
“On this day, the land will know true fear. On this day, the land will burn. After the brave sacrifice of Discord, who gave up his sanity and body to Chaos, he sent a majority of the terrible, destructive Alicorns to a plane where none would be harmed. However, two were able to remain and trap the broken dragon.” Orion looked up, he couldn't believe that Discord was anything besides that creature that wrecked Equestria. “But I guess that's what happens when you give yourself up to chaos.” Orion continued to read. “It will be 1500 years until the need to stop the Alicorns comes again. And on this day, the celebration of the sun, it will be the two Alicorns and six keys that unlock the portal to where the rest of the banished Alicorns are.” Orion then took on a face of fear. “And it will be the end of days. The creatures of the land will fight each other amidst the carnage, and the Alicorns will make their power known. But there are some who can fight against these creatures. Some who can instill fear in the Alicorns. In our tongue they are 'Alikiin' . . . Alicorn Born!”
Orion placed the book in his satchel and ran out of his father's house. He knew if he was going to have any chance of stopping this from happening, he had to go to Canterlot and stop the celebration somehow. Orion knew his father, he was as eccentric as can be, but he was honest. And would never lie about the end of the world, insanity or not. Orion rushed to a carriage that had Canterlot as it's destination. He would stop this, no matter the cost. If it was jail, he would serve his time. If it was death, then he would die happy knowing that either an apocalypse was not going to happen, or if he prevented it. No matter how many ways he painted it, he knew he had to stop it. He wasn't too strong, nor did he have knowledge in fighting whatsoever, but he would try. Orion looked down. “I just hope I'm not too late.” The carriage took off to Canterlot, where the Summer Sun Celebration and the hour of doom, were approaching.
