Chapters So I guess it isn't every day you have to be stopped from trapping Equestria in eternal night. .
Things had changed on earth. Apparently, my sister has a good for nothing student by the name, Twilight Sparkle. And also she's the one who stopped me from making it night. I mean, hey! What's up with ponies not liking night? But there is that bit about eternal night.... that's embarrassing... Yeah, so I kinda learned a bit about the six ponies (Oh yeah, also called the Spirits of the Elements of Harmony). So, this little orange pony, Honesty, she likes apples and stuff. What's her name... Appletack- no that's not it... something about apples... Applejack! Yeah, so she's Honesty. Then there's a pink pain in the behind, Laughter. She never stops laughing or smiling, so she's obviously Laughter. I think her name's like... Pinkie Pie? Yeah, Pinkie Pie. Then there's a Pegasus who's all like, ' Oh my! She's going to kill me! Oh my! She's so, SO scary! Ahh!' and she's Kindness. I think her name's Flutterdye? Flutterkite? Fluttershy! Yeah, she's really annoying. Then this stupid Pegasus named Rainbow Dash, who's loyalty. Then there's this weird girly unicorn that's Generosity. I can't believe she's generosity! You wouldn't think so. Her names... Oddity. No no! That's not it. It's Rarity. Yeah, Rarity. Oh, and then there's Twilight Sparkle. The little magic maker of the pack. She's, of course, Magic. I still don't know what to think of her. Celestia seems to like her all right! She's a big stupid sister taker.
We were in a carriage coming back to this place called Ponyville. I never heard of it, but apparently, everypony else had. Celestia and I were in the front seat and the Spirits of the Elements- let's call them the main six, shall we?- were in the back. They were chattering away about how awesome they were on stopping me. I just wanted to scream. I was right there! But I stayed tall and proud. Finally we got there and we stepped out. My sister went over to talk to Twilight- her dear student, the sister taker- leaving me standing there. The ponies followed her, except for a few fillies playing around with stuff. Wait, were they putting that in their mouths? And they didn't spit it out? Alright, that was creepy. Some familiar smells drifted over to me. What was that? I walked over to the stuff the fillies were playing with. Food, my mind whispered. Food? Those fillies… they weren't playing with the food... they were... what's the word... eating! Yeah so, what some ponies always forget is that I haven't eaten in 1000 years. I sniffed some round things. They smelled so familiar! What were they? I took a mouthful of them. The moment they hit my tongue, it came to me. Blueberries! I used to love these things! And I still do! I hovered a thing that was like half of a sphere. What was it called? A bool? No. A bowl? Bowl! Yeah, that's it! So I hovered a bowl over to me and stacked as much blueberries as it would hold and gobbled them down right there in about 10 seconds. "Wow! You sure are hungry!" I turned to the filly who was addressing me. It was a little orange Pegasus with a pink mane. Right next to her was a white unicorn with a purple and pink mane. I saw these fillies at the Summer Sun Celebration.
"Yeah, really hungry," I answered her. I coughed a bit. I was more used to Nightmare Moon's voice. I talked to myself in the moon to keep myself sane. Also, the only time I really used my real voice was with Celestia in the ruin.
"Did you even have breakfast?" the little unicorn asked.
"Um.. no, I didn't."
"When was the last time you've even eaten?" the pegasus inquired
"A-A very long time!"
"You must be very hungry then!"
"Sweetie Belle?" I winced at the familiar voice.
"Oh, hi Rarity!" said the little unicorn.
"There you are!" the white unicorn trotted over, thankfully ignoring me.
"Luna? Oh, there you are Luna!" I looked over my shoulder and smiled when I saw Celestia. I galloped over to her and hugged her. It's been so long since I've saw her! Just so long! Okay, so it was just a little while. When you've been separated from your only friend in the world, you'd miss her in ten seconds. "Luna, it's time to go." And so we left, followed be a bunch of annoying goodbyes from the ponies back at the tiny village.
On the way back, I looked at a big castle in front of us." What's that?" I asked.
"That's Canterlot," was the answer.
When we got there, Celestia showed me our room. It was a pretty good size, with a tall ceiling, red and yellow walls, sun decorations, and -yea!- pictures of me and Celestia when we were fillies! Also some pictures of our family! There was Mother, a tall, white alicorn with fiery red hair. Her cutie mark is a flame. And Father, a black alicorn, who looks like he was made from the night sky. His cutie mark is stars that seem to blink like they really were stars. And Celestia, with her pink, cotton candy-like hair curled up like a princess. Well, I guess she is a princess! Then little me! I'm so cute! Celestia and I were both blank-flanks, at the time. Celestia got her's about a month afterwards.
I sat by the fire place and Celestia offered me some tea. While we sipped the steaming drink, I noticed an empty bird cage. 'Maybe she just likes the decoration,' I thought.
Celestia gave me a tour of the castle. She showed me the Star Swirl the Bearded wing(the most scrolls I have ever seen in my life), the dinning room(huge, can't wait for dinner), the place where my room will soon be(very big! I'm going to put some awesome things in there!), the gardens(why the heck did she put Discord there?), and everything else. It took a good 2 hours. Maybe more. Soon it was dinner time and we went to the huge dinning room. Celestia got a simple salad while I got the biggest buffet in Equestria. Well hey! When you get locked up for 1000 years, a bowl of blueberries won't fill you up. I ate it up in about 10 minutes.
Celestia sighed and got up after she was done. "Well," she said."I need to lower the sun," she looked at me. "Would you like to raise the moon?"
"Wait, you mean, like, now? Tonight? Now?" I said. I couldn't believe it! She was still going to let me raise the moon! Yes! We went to her bed chambers and to her balcony. It was a beautiful view. I could see Ponyville and the Everfree Forest and a field of apple trees. Celestia let the sun down and turned to me. "Do you still know how to do it?" she asked. I nodded automatically.
I concentrated on the moon and the moon only. I felt my magic go into it's center and I pushed up. I stumbled like it was on my back. I couldn't hear anything. I could only see the moon. I flash of blue sparked from my horn and I saw a little bit of white glow. Come on! I thought. Just a bit further! What felt like another 1000 years, I finally saw it. I let go of the moon and plopped down on my flank. Ow. Okay, apparently I sat on a rock. Ow.
"Well, there you go sis," I said. "I did it!"
She laughed. "Well, congrats then! Listen, I know you don't like sleeping at night, but how about you do it, just this once."
"Okay!" I said cheerfully. "As long as I stay in bed the next day."
"Sure, but you still have to lower the moon."
"Okay!"
I snuggled into the warm bed after we brushed our teeth and manes and fell asleep as soon my head touched the pillow.
And that was my first day back.
Makin' Friends and Havin' Fun
So it was evening and Celestia told me to explore Canterlot. I checked out the clothes shop, the wedding shop, the book shop, etc. It was a nice evening with only a few clouds in the sky. The crickets were starting to come out, but some birds still sang in the trees. Yes, it was just your regular Sunday evening with your regular everyday alicorn. It was getting darker by the minute and there was no ponies on the street. I was skipping along. A bird was singing somewhere.
Wait.
Can a bird sing 'Mare's wind leaves'? It was a sweet tune sure, but I was sure that no birds could sing that! It sounded like a bird, but yet, it didn't. It had a little pony tune. It was a pony and a bird combined. Let's just say, that whoever was whistling this was a pro whistler.
I kept on following it till I stopped at a sky blue pegasus on a roof. She had a pink and yellow mane and a pink tail. Her cutie mark was three flowers that were being circled by a bee. She was whistling away until she saw me. She smiled and flew down.
"Hiya!" she said cheerfully. "You an alicorn? Hey, I recognize you! Your Princess Luna, from the Summer Sun Celebration! I was there, but I live here in Canterlot! Name's Thistle Whistle, your Majesty!"
"...Hi," I said. "Nice to meet you...Thistle Whistle?"
She made a high pitch whistle before saying, "You giving yourself a tour of Canterlot? Come on! I can show you my favorite place to go!!!"
She flew up and I followed. Thistle Whistle started whistling again, except this time she was singing just like a bird. Then she changed the tune to something I never heard of before. We got to a place, but it was only just a patch of clouds. The whistling pony flew up on one and motioned me to come.
"Well, this is the place!" Thistle Whistle said happily. "Great view, huh?"
It certainly was. I could see Ponyville and other huge cities that I've never seen before. I could even see the ruin of my old home.
"You like to whistle, Thistle Whistle?" I suddenly asked. I must've sounded stupid. Thistle WHISTLE! Duh!
The sunny pegasus whistled like a bird and said, "Sure I do! Why, I would even say that I'm the best whistler in Equestria!" She whistled again.
I chuckled. "Even better than the birds?" I tested her.
She scowled and started whistling exactly like a Meadow Lark.
"Okay, okay!" I said after 3 minutes of bird imitations.
"So you admit , Princess, that I'm better than the birds?" Thistle Whistle asked with the most innocent smile.
"As good as the birds, but not better," I said.
The pegasus pouted while I grinned, amused by her disappointment. Then it was her turn to laugh when she gently but quickly hit me saying, "Tag! Your it!" and flying off. I just laughed again and followed. I flew and flew. I always beat Celestia at races. Mostly the flying ones. We played for hours and hours, until it occurred to me that I should be heading back to the castle. Just when I was about to say something, my new friend said, "Oh my gosh! I should have been home hours ago! Sorry Princess! Gotta fly! Same time tomorrow?"
I nodded. "Same time tomorrow."

Ugh. Make the banging stop! Ug. There was banging at the door. Then somepony barged in.
"Luna! You sleep in to much! Celestia had to raise the moon herself!"
"Ugh."
There was a high pitch whistle that sounded like the tornado alarm. I sat up in bed.
"TORNADO!" I screamed. I got out of bed and galloped into the hall. The guards were staring at me, and the alarm stopped, replaced by laughing.
I groaned. "Thistle Whistle!"
"C-Come on!" A laughing Thistle Whistle said. "Let's go get you breakfast!"
I got dressed and followed my friend to the dinning hall. She stopped laughing and started whistling 'March of the alicorns'. I've been hanging out with Thistle Whistle ever since I've met her. We would play in the clouds or have races or just hang out at one of our homes. She'd always sneak out her window at night and meet me at the castle.
"So, what's for breakfast, Lulu?" Thistle Whistle asked.
"I think I just want some toast," I half told her half told the waitress.
"Yes, your majesty." the waitress said. "Would you like jam on that?"
"Yes please," I said hungrily. "You want anything Thistle?
"Nah. I already had supper," my sunny friend said. The waitress left.
She whistled for no apparent reason and said, "So, Celestia told me to tell you that she would like you to lower the moon tomorrow night."
"No, really?" I said. "Wow! That's so nice since she let's me do it EVERY SINGLE DAY ANYWAY!"
She laughed and said, "No no, tomorrow’s the Summer Sun Celebration!"
I spit out my milk. "W-What? I thought she was kidding about having another one!"
"Nope."
"Here's your toast, your majesty!"
"Thanks."
I finished my breakfast and Thistle Whistle and I wandered around the castle.
"Hey, can I go with you to the Summer Sun Celebration?" Thistle asked.
"Sure."
"It's going to be so cool!"
"Yeah."
"I've never seen somepony raise the sun before!"
"It's not that much, really. Though, Tia always adds unnecessary dramaticness," I giggled.
"Yeah, you must be sooo lucky."
"Nah. Not that lucky."
"What's that soposed to mean?"
"I have no idea."
Pause. Then laughing fit. Neither of us noticed that we were right in front of a boggled Celestia.
"Sooo...." she said. Thistle and I yelled. My pegasus friend jumped up in my arms and we stood shivering, looking for a ghost in the dark corridor. Now it was Tia's turn to laugh. Thistle gave me a nervous smile before I dropped her on the ground to scowl at my sister.

"Luna, relax! All you have to do is lower the moon! That's all!"
We were on Celestia's carriage to Ponyville and Thistle Whistle was trying to calm my nerves. And, well, let's just say that my nerves weren't really feeling like my whistling friend was doing a good job.
"Yeah," I said. "Your right, Thistle! I have nothing to fear. Pause. "EXEPT THAT IT'S IN FRONT OF HUNDREDS OF PONIES!"
My sister and friend burst out laughing and I just pouted. I knew it was a foalish thing to do, but hey! Have you ever lowered the moon in front of hundreds upon thousands of ponies? No! It's a stressful thing to do! So, I pouted. I turned away and looked out the window. Oh yeah, it was an outdoor carriage. Not really any windows there. Hmph. I wasn't in a good mood. Thistle Whistle whistled to get my attention.
"Hey, Lulu, don't you think your over reacting just a tiny bit?" she asked.
"No Thistle," I answered. "No I don't."
"Aw, come on Luna!" my sunny pegasus friend said.
"Girls, we're here," Celestia said.
"Wonderful," I muttered.
We walked through Ponyville with ponies on our tail. Guards were on either side of us as we walked. It was day at the moment. We were going to stay in Ponyville for a few days so Celestia could catch up with Twilight Sparkle.
"We're going to stay up so long!" I groaned.
Thistle Whistled made a bird imitation for no reason before saying, "Why? Wait, don't answer that! Um... Aha! So, we're staying up today, and tonight, and tomorrow, and tomorrow night! So about two days we're going to stay up!"
"That's about the size of it," I said, nodding. "Tia, where are we staying?" I asked.
"At the same place where the Summer Sun Celebration's held," was the answer.
"Which is where?" I inquired.
Celestia pointed a hoof at the biggest building. The cheering ponies stayed outside as we walked in. Our hooves echoed through the huge building as we trotted in. There were sparkly decorations and ribbons and tables with food and everything you could hope for. Thistle Whistle let out a low whistle.
Nerves forgotten, I giggled, "Yeah. We're going to have fun."
Celestia moved on and we followed. She went upstairs ("What's next? An indoor swimming pool?" Thistle Whistle cried.) and we went down two doors in the big-no HUGE- hallway. Celestia went in one and said, "You two can have the one next door."
It was a good sized room. The wallpaper was dark purple that went well with the hard wood floor. There were two beds with comfy matresses. There was a wood dresser and two wood night stands per bed. The bathroom was a pearly white with a big jet tub. Also there was a walk-in shower with a seat coming out of the wall. There were two huge sinks so big that you could fit a fully grown stallion in there. Then we got to the walk-in closet. It. Was. HUGE! It was as big our bedroom and even a family of ten couldn't fill all the space there was! The balcony had it's own hot tube ("Oh yeah!" we both said together) and a table. A big table. Like, as big as our huge jet tub. Well hey, it was a big balcony!
"Yeah, we're going to have alot of fun," I said smiling.
Thistle Whistle whistled like a bird and flew into the closet. "Well, better get unpacking!"
"Okay," I responded.
After we unpacked our saddlebags, Thistle said, "Hey! Luna! Wanna see Clouds Dale?"
"Clouds what now?"
"Clouds Dale! It's awesome!" she said grinning. "It's the place where all the weather comes from!"
"Nice. But I can't be seen at day."
"Aw, come on! I hang out with you all night! At least repay me by hanging out at day!
"Fine, but only-"
But I was already being swept out the door.
I walked out to the balcony to raise the moon.
Little fun fact: The sun and moon are kinda like living beings. And most ponies think they're a married couple or something. This is not so. In fact, like Celestia and I, they're like older and younger sisters. Also they can talk to the ones who are raising and lowering them. It's really fun.
When I reunited with the moon (not inside it, raising it again) it informed me that it missed me and me being inside it made it feel full (the bad kinda full, like stomachache-for-one-thousand-years kind of full).
I told it that I was sorry I got trapped in it and it didn't accidently eat me (yeah, the moon can jump to conclusions).
The moon complained to me that it was being tortured for one thousand years by Celestia's scalding magic and that it missed my nice and cool magic.
Then I heard the sun say that my magic was like a blizzard in side of it when I tried to raise and lower it. It also added that Celestia's magic was warm and toasty, unlike my icy coldness.
The moon argued back that I have never tried to raise and lower the sun anyway.
They continued this until I got bored and told Celestia to just put the sun to bed.
But anyway, that was a few days ago. So, I walked out to the balcony to raise the moon.
I put my magic into it and woke it up.
I asked my cute little celestial body how it slept and it told me that it slept fine.
I told it that it needed to get up.
It informed me that it was tired and needed more sleep.
I told it to stop straining against my magic and to get it's pale, nonexistent butt out here.
The moon obeyed.
I told it to have a good night and took my magic out of it.
I admired my work and got to work on the stars.
One.
Good, now only ten billion to go.
I just pushed it a little and all of them popped out at once.
I remembered that Celestia told me to make it brighter than usual since tonight was the Summer Sun Celebration. Well, the Summer Sun Celebration make up. So I made the stars bright as diamonds.
Perfect.
I went back inside to do whatever. I decided to brush my mane that got tangled in Cloudsdale. Thistle Whistle trotted in and started running a bath.
"You are going to leave right?" she asked me.
"I don't need to see a pony take a bath," I responded.
"Good!" The blue pegasus looked at me skeptically. "I thought you said you were leaving."
"No, I said I don't need to see a pony take a bath," I reminded her.
Thistle Whistle rolled her green eyes. "Luna."
I laughed and left the room.
I sat on my bed and worked on my light blue mane. I always catch myself thinking about Celestia's mane. Last I saw her before I took an accidental trip to the moon, her mane was pink. I guess that's just the effect of the Elements of Harmony. Or puberty. I dunno.
I worked my way around my horn. Man it's hard to have a horn and have a mane at the same time. Good, I was done with the mane. Now it's time to tackle the tail. I sighed and got to work.
"So Luna," Called Thistle Whistle from the bathroom. "You nervous about lowering the moon at the Summer Sun Celebration?"
"No," I lied.
"Hm. You’re brave. I mean, there has to be hundreds of ponies there. Maybe even thousands!"
"Thistle Whistle, aren't you taking a bath?" I inquired.
Suddenly, a very wet head appeared in the bathroom doorway. "Nope, not anymore!" she giggled.
"Wonderful," I muttered under my breath.
The sunny pegasus got a couple of towels and dried off.
"Luna, are you absolutely sure you aren't the tiniest bit nervous?" Thistle Whistle smiled the most innocent smile.
"Thistle, is it just me, or did you take Equestria's shortest bath?" I tried to change the subject. "Because you took a freakishly short bath."
The pegasus gave me a surprised grin. "Luna, your blushing!" she exclaimed.
"Am not." I felt myself turn even darker red.
"I can't believe this!" Thistle laughed. "One of Equestria's princesses, ruler of the night, Celestia's SISTER! And-" she laughed harder. "NIGHMARE MOON for Celestia's sake!"
"Well- Wait, Thistle Whistle, did you just say... Celestia's sake?" I asked, completely bewildered.
"Uh... yeah."
"...Why?"
"Cause everypony does it."
"No, no they don't."
"Uh, yeah, they do."
"Since when?"
"Should I know that?"
"I think you should."
"Well what do you know, you've been stuck in the moon for- what?- a hundred years?"
"No, a thousand years."
"I'm pretty sure it's s hundred years."
"I think I'd know how long I've been trapped in the moon."
"Well, you've got the time wrong in outer space."
"No I haven't."
"Have too!"
"Go to bed, Thistle Whistle."
Thistle Whistle insisted to stay up, but I just said to take a nap. But then she said that everypony else was staying up so then the won't miss the Summer Sun Celebration. Then I told her that I'd wake her in time for it. She tried to say no, but then I ordered her. After giving me some dirty looks, she finally crawled in bed and was snoring in no time.
By that time I finished my tail and went to see if that bath was any good. The truth was, I was sweating like a pig. I hate standing on stage. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. So I started running a hot bath and took off my horseshoes, necklace, and crown. 'They're getting way too small for me,' I thought.
I was really stressed. I rubbed my shoulders while I began to regret telling Celestia I'd do this. Maybe I'd just ask her if I could do it in the corner. Or maybe I'd ask here if she'd do it.
I shook my head. Focus Luna. Your acting like a dumb little filly.
I turned the water off and stepped in. I sighed and sunk in. This was the life!
Who knows how many ponies could be at the Summer Sun Celebration. Hundreds, thousands, millions-
Think on the positive, Luna. Just relax.
I fell asleep. Probably. Let's just say the next thing I knew I was having a massage with lemonade and the most beautiful, delicious fruit that I cannot identify. Ah yes....
Then I was on a stage next to Celestia in front of Equestria. All the ponies were billions of little dots. I had to lower the moon. In front of Equestria. And I also saw Gryphionans, the griffins of Gryphiona. Also I saw Zebras and Camels. Dragons and Wyverns. Things I have never seen before! And I had to lower the moon in front of all of them.
I gulped and tried to talk to the moon.
No answer.
'Uh... hey moon! I uh... kinda need to... uh... lower you?'
Still nothing.
I tried to push it down, but it wouldn't budge.
Now most nights, the moon would just go up or down with few words. Sometimes it would be lazy and would fight the magic. But it would never just not move. If it was fighting the magic, it would just be harder to move. But this moon just wouldn't move; wouldn't even talk to me!
I looked toward the crowd. All of their eyes were on me. The rainbow of colors stared at me like hungry lions. They were expecting me to do something I was unable to do. What was I supposed to do if I couldn't do it? Their eyes began to close in on me. Hungry. Expectant. Cruel. They were the lions and I was the antelope. They were the wolf and I was the elk. They were the hunter and I was the deer. They stared at me. Closing in on me. I shrunk down, trying to escape. And suddenly, I was falling. I was falling into a place of nothingness. I couldn't see. I couldn't breath. I tried to breath, but I couldn't. I twisted and struggled. I screamed. It came as a muffled sound. I tried to escape the coldness. It was cold and damp. I was falling and I couldn't breath or scream. I reached out in the freezing coldness trying to find a warm draft. I was starting to feel lightheaded. I needed air! I was seriously panicking now. I thrashed around; trying to breath. I couldn't. I struggled against the iciness... I couldn't breath-
I sat up straight, with my hooves flailing around, and gasped for air. I crawled out of the freezing water and collapsed on the floor, coughing. I laid there untill I recovered and then got up. I dried myself off with a warm towel and looked at the time. I groaned.
4:34? Oh, it just changed. 4:35? That means... let's see... dawn starts at 5:20 that day... so... 35... then... 45 minutes?! That might be wrong, but I'm not all that good at math.
Wow... that was a short dream and so much time past since then. Hm. Life is too short. But it doesn't matter to me, cause I'm immortal! Take that evil claws of death! Ha! Yeah...... Life is still too short.
Any time now Celestia's going to knock on that door... Any time... Any time...
Celestia takes a really long time with her make up and jewels and getting all girlied up. It's kinda ridiculous. So it'll take her about forty minutes. So she should be here... about...

The Summer Sun Celebration (Make-up)
OH MY GOSH I HAVE NOT ADDED A CHAPTER IN MILLIONS OF YEARS! I AM SO SORRY! But it's not like anyone's reading it, so thanks to all who do read it!
The Summer Sun Celebration was kinda boring. Step one: walk out there. Step two: raise/lower the sun/moon. Step three: walk off the stage. That was basically my life today. But I didn’t even do anything. This is sorta how it went:
It was Celestia at the door (obviously since she takes FOREVER getting ready) and I woke up Thistle Whistle, who sat up, smacked me in the face with her head (NO KISSING INVOLVED!), and said that she was just resting her eyes. We went to the makeup room (why do they even have those? They're called BACKSTAGES!) and Celestia instantly started getting ready. Thistle Whistle decided to see if the couch was any good (which apparently it was since she fell asleep almost immediately) and I just picked up my brush and boredly brushed my mane.
I just stayed there, brushing my messy mane, trying to make it lay flat. One stroke. Two strokes. Three strokes. Four. Five. Six. Blah. Soooo booooored. I noticed that I was brushing my face. I groaned and just put the brush down, then sat in the nearest chair.
Celestia seemed to see me through the mirror. At least I think so. Cause then she started talking.
"The stars are pretty tonight," she said.
"Thanks," I answered emotionlessly.
"I don't think I ever made them as nice as you do," my sister continued.
"Thanks," I once again replied without enthusiasm.
"The moon's brighter too," she pointed out.
"It's probably just glad to have me out of it."
"Maybe..." She started walking out of the room.
"Hey, where're you going?" I asked/shouted (she was already out of the room).
"To take a shower!" Celestia called back to me.
"Well thanks for the too short conversation," I muttered. "My life's full of short conversations, why don't you just add to it?"
“No thanks, I’m good!”
“I thought you were asleep,” I said.
“I wasn’t asleep!” Thistle Whistle sat up. “I was just resting my eyes!”
“Wow.” I trotted over to the desk (what the hay? This is supposed to be a makeup room! AND THEY DON’T EVEN EXIST!) and pulled out a book. I sat down and started reading eagerly.
“What’s that?” The Pegasus looked over my shoulder and started reading.
“The History of Equestria” she read. “Why are you interested in this junk?”
“I’ve been trying to catch up on Equestria,” I explained. “So much has happened since those stupid rocks sent me to my own moon.”
“Poor you,” Thistle said. “How much have you missed?”
“Ponies don’t use the Royal Canterlot Voice anymore,” I sighed.
“Thank Celestia.”
I looked at her. “Seriously, why do you do that?”
“We worship Celestia,” Thistle Whistle said. “Why wouldn’t we?”
“You don’t worship Neptune?” I asked, completely bewildered. Ponies who don’t worship the one who created them? There’s just something wrong with that.
Thistle Whistle was about to answer when Sister came in.
“WHY THE HECK DO EVERYONE TAKE SUCH SHORT BATHS?!”
“Technically,” the Sun alicorn reminded me. “I took a shower.”
“One, close enough,” I groaned. “And two, what’s a shower?”
For some reason what I said was funny, because the Pegasus started laughing like a hyena and Celestia smiled.
“I’ll explain later, Little Sister,” she said and Thistle Whistle went out saying something about breakfast. Celestia put her shoes and necklace on and brushed through her multicolored hair. Then set the golden crown on her head.
“Alright Luna,” my sister turn to me while I was sulking on the couch. “Let’s get you ready.”
“Wait!” I sat strait up and held my hooves out in protest. “Do I have to?”
She was surprised at my comment, no doubt, and took a while to respond. “Why would you ask that?”
“W-Well,” I struggled to find words. “First of all, I don’t want to. And secondly, why the heck would ponies want me, ME, to do anything here? They want their precious sun princess to do everything.” I sighed. “They don’t want a boring old mare who doesn’t even know how to work a toaster.”
I turned away, facing the back of the couch. I buried my head in a pillow, trying to hide the tears that I was trying to fight.
It was quiet for a long, long, long, long, long, long , LONG time. Then (finally) Celestia spoke.
“Luna,” she said quietly. “If you don’t want to lower the moon, I understand.”
I looked up at her. “You do?” I asked.
Celestia smiled.
Right then I realized that I had the best sister in all of Equestria.

After Celestia did her thing, Thistle Whistle and I trotted upstairs.
“Luna!” Thistle shouted after me. “You have GOT to be KIDDING me!”
I snorted. “Well I don’t want to stay here a moment longer,” I said firmly. “I. Am. Leaving.”
“W-Well,” she stuttered. “I’m coming with you!”
“You don’t have to.” I packed my things with a flash of my horn. “I bet you might want to try out that hot tub.”
Thistle grabbed me. “Not without you.”
“Alright, if I sit in that stupid hot tub, will you let me leave?”
“Yes, and I’ll come with you.”
I inwardly groaned. “Okay, I’ll get one of the royal carriages to get us.”
