Spike always has been an interesting individual, he helps out Twilight and everypony when they need it and he accepts whatever task they put him to do, but sometimes he feels like this shouldn't be the way he should be living, he expects everypony to at least thank him for his efforts.

In an attack of despair caused by a misunderstanding, he runs to the Everfree forest, finding a potion that could solve his problems for good. What he doesn't know is that it was left forgotten for good reasons.

What will happen to him and everypony around him? What will he do? Why was the recipe left to rot in the forest?
