Chapters A New World, An Old Crime
In the Hall of Legends, Mew was using her powers as a Mythical Pokémon to look over all the various species of Pokémon, for her father had recently returned from Eques’ afterlife, and told her she would need to make some ‘nudging’ in terms of breeding between Pokémon and ponies seeing as how the god he had met with was doing similar ‘nudging’.
This brought a smile to her face, for the last time she had done this kind of ‘nudging’ it had been to make it so that humans could no longer produce offspring with Pokémon, which she had always regretted doing. Now though, now she was rectifying that mistake by making it so that Pokémon could create offspring with all the races of Eques, and she could not wait to see what would result from those unions.
However, as she reached the last few Pokémon on her list, she began sensing something, and when she gave a little tug, she found a whole new batch of Pokémon there, as well as several new legendries.
“What the heck, I don’t remember creating these…wait a minute…I recognize that one, that one died out during one of the…the…”
She suddenly had a moment of excited realization, and with that she began speeding down the fall as she called out to her father in joy.
*
“Almost there,” said a lone Nuclear Tanscure, his eyes staring at the town before him as he rested at the edge of the Everfree Forest. “Soon beloved, soon he will pay for his crimes.”
Glancing down at his paws, the Nuclear Tanscure had to suppress the urge to tear up, for every time he looked at his new form, it reminded him of his first love, his beloved Absol Mistress.
Like others before him, he had not meant to fall in love with his Pokémon; in fact he hadn’t even entertained the possibility until she had made it plain how she felt for him, with a little help from one of his psychic Pokémon of course. Thus slowly, over a period of several months, there partnership had blossomed into love.
And he knew it was true love, not the one sided love that many of the Rangers claimed it to be, for Mistress could have never achieved Mega Evolution if their love was so…tainted.
But it had all gone wrong when those damn rangers had caught them in a…compromising position, and he had been arrested for the crime of Pokephilia. He had been separated from his Pokémon, and had been sent to a rehabilitation center for five years after taking a plea deal, like he had planned.
After the mandatory time, and with proof that he had indeed been “rehabilitated,” he had been reunited with all of his Pokémon…save for Mistress, and to this day, he still remembered what that bastard Hastings told him when he had asked about her.
“I am sorry Mr. Arden, but I am afraid she was too damaged by the time we caught you, so we had to put her down.”
Professor Hastings had commented that he had made her death painless after he had seen the boy tear up, but he had not cared at that point, leaving after being congratulated by Hastings, and his life had only become worse from there.
As he was reflecting on this though, he was brought out of his dark thoughts as a form leaned against him, causing him to look to his left, and gasp when he saw who was next to him.
“Urayne?”
“Thomas,” said Urayne as she smiled with her eyes, before wrapping him up in her arms as he breathed in her scent, something he could not have done when he was human.
“It is good to see you,” said Thomas, “I…I was worried that…that something had happened to you…”
“You know I can take care of myself love,” said Urayne, before reaching up a hand and beginning to scratch Thomas behind the ears. “Also I must say love, I find your new form preferable to your old one, and your fur is so soft.”
“Oh I wish I could just let you keep that up,” said Thomas as his three tails began to wag, the former human not caring how ridiculous he looked.
“And who says I have to stop,” said Urayne, reaching up her other hand and continuing with the scratching as Thomas began to growl in content, till finally he was able to get up the urge to pull away, causing Urayne to pout.
“Sorry,” said Thomas, “but I have business in town, business I have put off for far too long.”
That got a curious look from the legendary, “What sort of business?”
Concentrating, and thanking Arceus that he still had his mental powers, he opened his bag and pulled out a book, which he then handed to Urayne, “This sort of business.”
The Atomic Pokémon opened the book, looking over the contents for a moment before her face took on a sorrowful expression, causing her to close the book and look to Thomas as she spoke. “Are you sure you want to do this?”
“I’m sure,” said Thomas, “this needs to be done, for…for all those that were lost…all of them.”
With that said, he grabbed the book and put it back into his bag, before getting to his feet and moving, followed closely by Urayne as they made their way towards the town.
*
“THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU…!”
Arceus had to admit, after all that had been happening recently, he still found it surprising that he could still be surprised so often.
The object of his current surprise lay in his daughter Mew, who had flown into the room he was currently in and had latched onto him like a Binacle to a Wailord, all the while repeating those two words as she hugged him all the tighter.
“Mew, while I am happy to receive the hug, I am afraid I do not know what I have done to be receiving this much thanks.”
Stopping herself for a moment, Mew looked up with the biggest smile on her face, before speaking. “You brought them back; you brought back all the ones the Pokémon that got wiped out during the extinction event!”
Arceus raised an eyebrow at this, and noting his confusion, Mew linked her mind with her fathers, allowing him to see the Evolution Web which connected every Pokémon together.
As he looked at it, Mew guided his senses to a certain portion of the web, and when he saw it, he once more found himself surprised.
Orchyx, Chyimunk, Birbie, Dearewl, Dunseraph, Feliger, and many others were stretched out before him, each and every one of them being Pokémon which had been wiped out ages ago during a mass extinction event.
However, while Arceus was happy to see these Pokémon here, there was a big problem with Mew’s thinking. “Mew,” said Arceus with concern, “I did not resurrect these Pokémon.”
“What,” said Mew, “but…but how else could they be here then?”
“I do not…” started Arceus, only to stop as he spotted the Pokémon at the very end.
Seikamater The Insect Queen Pokémon, Garlikid The Hero Pokémon, Lanthan The Rare Earth Pokémon, Actan The Rare Metal Pokémon, Baitatao The Sea Serpent Pokémon, Leviathao The Leviathan Pokémon, Krakanao The Kraken Pokémon, Zephy The Inspiration Pokémon, Aotius The Yang Pokémon, Mutios The Yin Pokémon, The lost Legendries who had vanished during the great extinction event.
“Th…Their alive,” said Arceus, his mind fighting with what he was seeing, for he had always assumed they were dead.
“But where were they,” said Mew, looking them over as she voiced her thoughts. “No one sensed anything after the event happened, and you think we might have sensed them at some point, especially Heatran.”
“I do not know,” said Arceus, “but I plan to…wait…what is that?”
As Arceus said this, a new Pokémon appeared before them, floating seemingly by its own power as they gazed upon it. Thinking quickly, Mew used her powers to examine it on the genetic level and gasping a bit as she saw what it truly was. “This…this is a Legendary Pokémon, and it…it was made by the humans.”
“So another like Mewtwo then,” said Arceus.
“No dad,” said Mew, “this one they made completely from scratch, the only thing tying her back to me is the fact that she is a Pokémon.”
Arceus’s eyes widened at this, for this was something that if he had to be honest, he had seen as impossible. Oh sure, he could see them bringing extinct species of Pokémon back to life from fossils, and he could see them creating their own Pokémon by working off already existing Pokémon DNA, but creating a Pokémon from scratch, let alone a Legendary Pokémon, was simply beyond the reach of humans.
“Yet the evidence stating otherwise is staring me in the face,” he thought, before looking to his daughter and speaking to her. “Mew, were leaving for Ponyville, for I wish to speak with the new Pokémon and see if it knows anything about our newest discovery.”
*
Twilight had to admit, she had been very thankful that, after the whole incident with the Pokémon attacking Ponyville, that Arceus had given her books on Pokémon, allowing her to study up on the 809 species of Pokémon that existed.
Which is why now she was staring in utter confusion due to the two Pokémon heading toward the new Union Headquarters; for they were not like any Pokémon she had read about in any of the books Arceus had provided.
So, deciding to let satisfy her own curiosity, Twilight got up from where she was sitting and went after the two mystery Pokémon, eventually catching up with them and calling out to get their attention. “Excuse me!”
The two Pokémon stopped and looked back at her, Twilight watching as the floating one placed a hand on the wolf like ones back as it sat down and waited for her to approach.
“Princess Twilight Sparkle I presume,” said the wolf like Pokémon “to what do I owe the honor of your presence.”
“Please.” said Twilight, “call me Twilight, and I wanted to speak to you because…well, I have been studying Pokémon for a while now and I have never seen mention of Pokémon like you before, so I wanted to know who and what you were.”
Smiling, the wolf like Pokémon spoke up, “Well Twilight, my name is Thomas, a former human, but before we answer your other question, did any of the books you read come from the Tandor region?”
Twilight thought about it, then shook her head, “No, though I did start with the Ultimate Pokémon Explorers guide and then began working my way through the books it suggested, so I may not have gotten to them yet.”
“That makes sense,” said Thomas with a smile. “Well I am a Tanscure, known as the Raccoon Wolf Pokémon, while this lovely Pokémon here is my mate Urayne, the Legendary Atomic Pokémon.”
Twilight looked at Urayne in shock, “Wait, you’re a Legendary?”
“Indeed I am,” said Urayne, smiling with her eyes.
“Then why didn’t Arceus mention you when we met him in the Hall of Legends,” asked Twilight, looking confused.
“I…” started Urayne, before taking a deep breath and speaking. “Lord Arceus’s probably did not mention me because he did not know who I am, due to the fact that I...that I was not created by him.”
“You weren’t created by him?” asked Twilight.
Urayne shook her head, but before she could speak further, Thomas moved up to speak. “I am sorry Princess, but while we would both like to keep answering your questions, we have business at the Ranger Headquarters, so if you’ll excuse us, I bid you good day.”
He turned and began walking toward his destination, and Urayne began to follow him after giving Twilight an apologetic look, but as they began heading toward the building Twilight moved up beside him as they made their way toward the HQ. “What sort of business do you have up at Ranger Headquarters, maybe I can help?”
“Are you a Pokémon Ranger?” asked Thomas.
“Um…no…”
“Then no, it’s not something you can help with, for it involves some old crimes which were committed back on Earth, and I mean to see that the ones responsible do not escape justice.”
Hearing this Twilight scowled, “If you’re talking about arresting the people who were wrongly charged with Pokephillia then you better turn back around and leave this town before you create…”
Before she could finish her sentence Thomas rounded on her and growled, his eyes lighting up with a baleful green energy and his body beginning to radiate a greenish light. “Don’t you EVER insinuate again that I would do such a thing, for I lost too much to the laws which harm those people to ever willingly hand them over to the scum who enforced them!”
He then turned back around with a huff, picking up his pace as Twilight stared in shock for a moment, before deciding to head back to her library, intent on looking for books on the Tandor region and seeing exactly what the heck had caused that glow.
*
Thomas was able to eventually calm himself down by the time they reached the front doors to Ranger Headquarters, Urayne opening the door for him before following him inside.
Walking up to the desk, Thomas cleared his throat to get the receptionists attention. “My name is Thomas Arden, and I am here to speak with Abby Trombly about a matter concerning Pokémon.”
The Gardevoir looked at him in confusion for a moment, and then shook it off before looking at her ledger and speaking. “She should be in her office right now; I’ll have someone escort you.”
“That would be appreciated,” said Thomas.
Nodding, the Gardevoir called an Eevee over, who they began to follow as it lead them up some stairs and down a hallway, leading to a door bearing a plaque with Abby’s name on it. When the Eevee reached the door, she walked into what essentially amounted to a doggy door, Thomas and Urayne waiting a few moments before the Eevee walked back out and spoke.
“She’ll see you, though I would not want to be you right now, you’ve obviously done something to piss her off.”
“I expected that,” said Thomas as the Eevee walked away, before heading into the room as Urayne opened the door.
Behind the desk sat a Ninetales, who upon seeing Thomas put down the paperwork she was looking over as Thomas sat down in a chair. “You have a lot of nerve showing up in my Headquarters Thomas, after what you pulled back on Earth.”
“I know,” said Thomas, “but I had my reasons for saying what I said back then, and if you have the time, I would like to explain those reasons.”
“What reasons could you possibly have to explain why you claimed relationships like mine and the one you had were a mental condition, what reason could you have for spitting in the memory of your Absol when you…”
“My beloved was murdered by Rangers who claimed similar, and the only reason I said what I said was because I did not want the same to happen to Urayne!”
Abby was taken aback by this outburst, and after a moment of recovery, she leaned forward and spoke. “And what is that supposed to mean?”
Sighing, Thomas leaned against Urayne, who wrapped an arm around him as he spoke. “I had long ago figured I would one day get caught by the Rangers, it was only a matter of time. So, my Pokémon and I had formed a plan, which basically amounted to going through the motions and make it seem like I was rehabilitated.”
Sighing again, Thomas continued, “Mistress never liked the plan, and I guess that is what led to her being…to her being euthanized. It should come as no surprise that I was a wreck for a while after that, but eventually I was brought out of my funk when I found Urayne here being beaten by her trainer.”
Abby’s eyes widened at that, “I assume you reported this trainer to the rangers correct.”
“I did one better,” said Thomas, “I dragged him kicking and screaming to the local Ranger Station and turned him in, and stayed to find out exactly why the kid was beating his Pokémon. Turned out he was only beating Urayne because he blamed her for what happened to his mother, and after a lengthy conversation, I agreed to take her on as one of my Pokémon.”
Abby chose at that moment to interject again, “Ok, you keep identifying Urayne as her, but from the reports I got about it it was genderless.”
Urayne chose to answer that question, “As the Legendary Atomic Pokémon, I have found that I can…modify my genetic structure on an atomic level, which allowed me to…give myself a gender after I figured out which gender I found most…appealing.”
Abby raised an eyebrow at that, and then turned back to Thomas, “You were saying?”
“Yes…well, a few months after acquiring her, she chose to…well she chose at that point to reveal to me that she had feelings for me, which I was…I…”
“He was resistant to my feelings at first,” said Urayne, “granted part of it I could understand…then again I could have also probably been a bit more…tactful with how I revealed my desirers for him.”
“More tactful?” asked Abby.
“Her words were and I quote, “I have determined that you are a desirable mate, shall we engage in coitus now, or do you wish to engage in your dating rituals before we join bodies.” Kind of freaked me out a bit.”
“I can imagine,” said Abby.
“Anyways, as she said I was…resistant at first, but eventually I decided to accept her feelings, though we were a lot more careful about our relationship. We were happy for a while…and then that damn bastard Demetri Palentine had to go and make my life hell.”
“I find that hard to believe,” said Abby, “ for I would have thought you would get along with someone like that, what with him being against Pokephillia like you were.”
“You would think that,” said Thomas. “But one, I was never against Pokephillia, I only become an active face of Pokephillia Rehabilitation after he approached me, for he forced me into that position by threatening to turn me into the Rangers, and two, where Pokephillia itself was concerned he was fucking hypocrite, what with him being in a relationship with his Shiny Gardevoir and all.”
Abby’s eyes widened at that, “What…that can’t be right, he…he was…”
“I can tell you with upmost certainty that they are in a relationship, for during the dinner he invited me to, she kissed him right on the mouth, and it was not the sort of kiss you could mistake for anything else but romantic.”
Abby shook her head, “That’s not the fact I was stumbling over, I was stumbling over your claim that he forced you, so could you please explain what you meant by that?”
Sighing, Thomas spoke. “Well, a few months after Urayne and I had started our relationship, we found ourselves in Almia, and it seems we attracted the attention of Mr. Palentine, who invited me to his very private and very remote villa. After much winning and dining, he revealed that he was in a relationship with his Pokémon, and that he knew of my own.”
Sighing again, Thomas looked out the lone window in the room as he continued. “He then explained to me that while he knew relationships like ours were not the evil things the Ranger Union made them out to be, he believed that our world was not ready for such relationships to be accepted within our society. After saying that, he then asked me to keep the message of Anti-Pokephillia going strong, for with me being the most recent “success story” in regards to Pokephillia Rehabilitation, my words would have the most resounding impact amongst the masses.”
Growling a bit, Thomas spoke further. “I naturally refused, but as I got up to leave with Urayne he told me that if I walked out of his door without accepting his offer, he would have Rangers on my location within the hour.”
Abby’s eyes widened at that, “Wow, he really did that?”
“He did,” said Thomas, “and when I countered by telling him that I would tell the Rangers of his relationship if they did catch me, he simply stated that it would do no good, for unlike him, I had no proof to show he was breaking the law. So in the end, I chose to protect Urayne rather than risk what happened to Mistress happening to her, and though I hated what I was forced to do, I did it all the same.”
Silence hung in the air for a long moment, and then Abby spoke up. “If you are willing, I would like your memories to be scanned by one of our Psychic types, because as much as I want to believe you, I am having a really hard time believing any of this.”
“I would gladly submit to a memory scan,” said Thomas, “I have nothing to hide.”
“Then follow me.”
*
“Well his memories check out with everything he has stated,” said the Espeon as she pulled away from Thomas, “no sighs of tampering or replacement either, so he is telling the truth.”
“Damn,” said Abby, before looking to the Tanscure with a regretful look, “well, not that it matters now, but some of us were really hoping he could be made to see our way of thinking.”
“Cynthia said something similar when I told her, for he was one of the people she was planning to approach about changing the laws when it came to Pokephillia.”
“You know Cynthia?” asked Abby in surprise.
“Mhm,” said Thomas, “though I’m not all that surprised you didn’t know, for Cynthia felt it best that it not be known that I was working with her till the big meeting.”
It took a moment for the pieces to fall into place in Abby’s head, but when they did her eyes widened in shock, “Holy fuck…so you’re the Champion she kept saying would be such a big help to us?”
Thomas nodded, “Would be a pretty big hit to the Anti-Pokephiles don't you think? Not only was the face of Pokephillia Rehabilitation a sham, but he was in a relationship with a Legendary. But…well…then Arceus happend."
Abby nodded her head at that, “Well, while I am glad we got this whole mess sorted, I believe you had another reason for coming here.”
Thomas’s face fell at that, but with a sigh, he concentrated, and pulled the book out of his bag before handing it over to Abby. “This is why I came here.”
Abby took the book in one of her tails as Urayne floated over to comfort Thomas, opening it and looking it over before dawning a confused look as she turned to Thomas and spoke. “What is this?”
“A list of names,” said Urayne for Thomas, holding him tightly to her chest as she spoke for him, “names of Pokémon who were euthanized by the former Ranger Union because of the Anti-Pokephillia laws, as well as names of the people who were responsible for those deaths.”
Looking at the list again, Abby saw names she recognized from her time back on earth, which eventually prompted her to look up and speak once more. “And how did you get all these names, I mean the various rangers members I could get, but the names of every Pokémon they put down, that would require access to the Union HQ database of each region, which I know you did not have access to.”
“He didn’t…” started Urayne, only to stop as a blinding flash filled the room, before fading and revealing Arceus and Mew had appeared before them.
"Greetings."
Author's Note
Will probably end up going back to this chapter later, for as always beginings are always my Kryponite. Now, onto some topics the Author wants to cover before people freak out.
01. Yes, Urayne turned herself female through use of genetic tampering, but I felt it given that the Legendries are made to be so powerful in this setting, I felt it was within the realm of reasoning to give Urayne, The Atomic Pokemon, the ability to change her genetic makeup at the atomic level.
02. Yes Thomas is a Nuclear Tanscure, for it is my favorite out of all the Pokemon in Pokemon Uranium, besides Urayne itself.
03. It will be addressed why neither Arceus nor the other Legendries knew that any of the Tandor Region Pokemon or the Lost Legendries were alive in the next chapter, I just felt it would be to much to adress that in this chapter what with all the stuff I dropped in this chapter.
Anyways that's pretty much it, so if you guys have any questions or comments, feel free to drop them on by, I love hearing from you guys.
A New World, An Old Crime
Arceus had expected many reactions when he had arrived, but one of them had not been the look of abject terror that was painted across the face of one of the Pokémon in the room, the little Legendary cowering behind a Tanscure as it shook with fear.
“Why do you fear me child,” said Arceus as he knelt down to get a better look at the Legendary, “I’m not going to harm you.”
“I…I do not fear you,” said Urayne, “I fear for you.”
That got a confused look from everyone in the room save for Thomas, causing Arceus to lean closer to the small Legendary and speak further. “And why do you fear for me, after all I am a god.”
“Because of the power I contain,” said Urayne, “Zephy said that it was power which could harm other legendries, and she…she feared that it could even harm you noble father.”
Arceus remained silent for a moment, and then he began to chuckle, before eventually erupting into full blown laughter which unnerved everyone.
“Um dad,” said Mew, “you might want to knock it off with the laughing, you’re freaking everyone out.”
“S...Sorry…” said Arceus with a chuckle, before composing himself and speaking. “Urayne, I can guarantee you that I can protect myself from any attack, and to prove this to you I would like to challenge you to a battle, if that would be acceptable to your…hmm, I am sorry, but are you her trainer of her mate Mr.?”
“My names Thomas lord Arceus,” said Thomas with a smirk, “and while I was her trainer, I was and still am her mate, and I have no problem with you battling her, but when you lose, don’t say we didn’t warn you.”
“You’re a confident one,” said Arceus.
“I know Urayne,” said Thomas.
With that said, Abby chose that moment to speak, “Um…I guess we’ll take you to the training room we built for Axel then…though I don’t know if that will hold.”
“You need not worry Misses Trombly,” said Arceus with a smirk, “I shall strengthen it.”
“Oh…good,” said Abby, “follow me then.”
As they left the room and began walking, Mew flew up beside her father and started speaking to him. “Dad, remember what Uxie told you about being rash.”
“I am not being rash,” said Arceus with a smirk, “as I told Urayne, there is not a single attack I have seen or heard of that I cannot defend myself against.”
“And now you’re just being arrogant again,” said Mew, “dad I have been trying to identify her type ever since we got here, and I am coming up with a gods damn blank, for all we know she could be a brand new type that we have never encountered before.”
“The only types we do not know of are the ones we have forgotten,” said Arceus, “give it time my daughter, I am sure her type will reveal itself.”
Huffing a bit, Mew made to float back toward Thomas and Urayne, but stopped as she saw Kasai walking up beside them.
“Hey Abby,” he said before licking her face, and then he turned to Thomas and spoke. “So who and what are you?”
“Thomas Arden, a Tanscure” said Thomas with a smirk, “and you must be Kasai, Abby’s trusted Arcanine.”
“Glad to know I’m famous,” said Kasai with a smile, “but I thought…”
As they chatted, Mew floated over to Urayne and decided to speak to her. “So um, mind telling me what type you are, because for whatever reason Identify is drawing a blank here and its driving me crazy.”
“I would rather reveal it during the battle,” said Urayne with the barest hint of a smile, “it’s much more fun that way…well, for me it is.”
Mew huffed at that, but before she could speak further, they reached the training room, Arceus moving to one side of it while Urayne moved to the other side, Thomas moving to the trainer’s position before speaking to Arceus. “So is this an official battle, or do you just want her to hit you with her strongest attack?"
“I just want her to hit me with her strongest attack; that will prove things far quicker than having us prolong this with an unneeded battle.”
“Alrighty then,” said Thomas as he braced himself, before he smirked and shouted to Urayne. “Urayne, activate Uranium Core!”
“Activating!” cried Urayne, before the blue power core on her chest began to glow, and everyone watched as she began to grow. Her chest and the bottom part of her torso expanded outward, her armor pad had doubled in size, as had the armor pad covering the bottom of her torso as well as both her arms, all of which had gained blue glowing lines, while the arm guards had each gained a black spike near the elbow. Two green circles now encircled her power core, and a new nucleon had joined the first floating around her antenna.
With the transformation finished, Urayne cracked her now broadened neck, looking to Arceus with her glowing blue eyes as she spoke, her voice carrying a haunting echo.
“Beta Form activated.”
*
For the second time that day, Arceus found himself surprised, for this Pokémon in one move now nearly equaled him in power, and in a few areas actually surpassed him. Unperturbed however, he simply summoned up his elemental plates, the artifacts beginning to float around him as he took to the air, flowed soon by Urayne as Arceus looked to Thomas.
“Well, what are you waiting for?”
“Just want to take care of one more thing,” said Thomas, before looking to Urayne, “Urayne, deactivate Jammer!”
“Deactivating,” said Urayne coldly, and the two nuclei spinning around her head, which Arceus only now noticed were pulsing rhythmically, stopped pulsing but continued to circle her antenna.
Down below, Mew attempted identify one more time, and this time instead of the jumbled mess she had been receiving from her past attempts, she was finally able to identify Urayne’s type, and the answer made her eyes widen in shock, “Nuclear, but isn’t that…”
“I ask again Lord Arceus, are you sure about this?”
“I am,” said Arceus, “now stop hesitating and unleash your attack, I will be fine.”
“Very well then,” said Thomas, “Urayne, you know what to do babe!”
“Affirmative,” said Urayne, before lifting up her hand and pointing the open palm at Arceus before speaking once more, “PROTON BEAM!”
The blue circle in her palm glowed for a moment before unleashing a bright neon green beam, which headed straight for Arceus.
“Never heard of that move before,” thought Arceus, “still though, I’ll be…”
His thoughts were interrupted as the beam struck full force, his body shaking from the impact as the energy coursed through him, causing him extreme pain. However, he did not have time to appreciate this intense sensation, for as the attack ended he felt all of his strength get instantly sapped from him, and in that moment of pure sock, he could only register one thing.
“Oh…so that’s what that feels like,” said the Alpha Pokémon, before he promptly feinting.
*
Thomas, Urayne, Mew, Abby and Kasai all watched as the Alpha Pokémon’s eyes rolled into the back of his head, before watching in horror as he dropped from the air and collapse in a heap on the ground.
“DADDY!” cried Mew, flying over to her father as the others were all shook from their shock, all of them moving toward the fallen Legendary as Mew franticly unleashed a Heal Pulse on him, only to start panicking as the Alpha Pokémon did not stir. “No no no, this should be working…”
“He has fainted,” said Urayne simply, the Atomic Pokémon lifting Arceus up in her arms before looking to Abby and speaking, “Ranger, does this facility have the necessary equipment to revive him?”
“Thankfully yes,” said Abby as she motioned with her head to follow, silently thanking her lucky stars that they did.
After the new Union HQ had been established, Abby had started to talk with Celestia about introducing some of the technology from Earth to Eques, for it would help improve relations between the various races of Eques and the Pokémon. Celestia had been hesitant at first, but had eventually relented with a stipulation, that it be tested first in the Union HQ.
“Fainted?” said Mew as they began making their way through the HQ, “but…but daddy has never fainted before…”
“…Well there’s a first time for everything,” said Thomas, keeping close to Urayne but keeping an eye on the other Legendary, for he was afraid she still might retaliate against them for harming Arceus.
They eventually reached the Pokémon treatment center, and the moment the entered a group of Chansey lead by a Blissey wearing a nurses hat. “Oh dear, ok bring him to the table, this may be a bit different but he is not the first Legendary I have had the pleasure of treating.”
As Urayne placed Arceus on the table and the Chansey began hooking him to the equipment, Abby walked over to Thomas and began speaking to him. “Ok, before he wakes up I want you to tell me what the fuck that was and why the hell her attack had such an effect on him.”
“You read Urayne’s file right?” asked Thomas.
“I did but it mentions nothing about her being able to Mega-Evolve on a whim.”
“That’s not Mega-Evolution,” said Thomas, “that was only her Beta Form, if I had Mega-Evolved her she might of outright killed him.”
“Wait…so that was like when Meloetta switches forms, then why was she so powerful!”
“Because when she activates her Uranium Core she overcharges all her stats, which actually reminds me, Urayne, might be best to shut it off now, you know what happens when you stay in that form for too long.”
“Affirmative,” said Urayne, the bright glow emanating from the core dimming as she returned to her smaller form.
Abby looked at her for a moment, and then looked back to Thomas and spoke, “Well that still does not answer why her attack did so much damage, I mean he’s a Normal Type by default, which aren’t weak to anything really.”
“True,” said Thomas, “but Nuclear Type Moves has type advantage on all types save for Steel and itself.”
“Th…that’s ridicules, with that kind of advantage they would be able take down any Pokémon they wish.”
“Also true,” said Thomas, “however the tradeoff for that insane type advantage is they everything save for Steel and Nuclear has type advantage against them. This makes Nuclear types a sort of glass cannon, especially Pokémon like me.”
“But…wait you’re a nuclear type, I thought Tanscure were Dark Normal Types?”
“Normally they are,” said Thomas, but stopped as Arceus stirred.
“Alright sir, no sudden movement,” said the Blissey, “from what your daughter told me this is the first time you’ve fainted like this, so just keep it easy alright.”
“I’m fine,” said Arceus as he righted himself, before giving one look to Urayne, and then vanishing in a flash of light.
“Oh come on!” cried the Blissey, before looking to Mew and speaking to her, “Ok, where has that glorified father figure teleported off to now!”
Startled, Mew spoke, “Um…the Hall of Legends.”
“Right then,” said the Blissey, before looking out to the various Chansey and shouting. “JENNIES, ASSEMBLE!”
Thomas, Abby, Kasai and Urayne watched as the army of Chansey, now revealed to be Nurse Jennies, gathered around the Blissey as she spoke. “Alright girls, we got a patient to recover, to the Everfree Forest!”
“Yes Mam!” cried the Chansey, before charging out the door and leaving everyone else in stunned silence.
“…That woman is scary,” said Mew.
“You have no idea,” said Abby.
*
Arceus appeared in the hall of legends, and stumbled a bit as he appeared, for he found himself unable to hover.
Stumbling as he walked, eventually reaching the room he had taken as his own, and creating a bed to lie on which he collapsed upon.
“So this is what it’s like,” thought Arceus, “to lose a battle…”
Many would call someone who claimed that they had never lost a battle a liar, but Arceus had truly never lost a battle till today. Oh sure, it came with the territory when one was dubbed the Alpha Pokémon, but the truth of the matter was he had never been brought to be point of feinting in a battle before.
“If she had had it in her…she could have killed me…”
It was a sobering thought, knowing that he was but a move away from death. It was not something he was used to, for with both the elemental plates, as well as his status as the Alpha Pokémon, he never really had to fear death. But now, now there was a Pokémon out there with a type that he had no defense against, and from what he had felt when it had struck him, he was just as weak to it as he was towards fighting type moves, even more so given the fact that even the most powerful of fighting type moves couldn’t drop him in a single hit.
“FATHER!!!”
“Oh crap,” said Arceus, getting up and attempting to hobble his way out of the room, given that he did not feel confident teleporting a second time.
However, as he reached the first exit to the room Darkrai appeared before him, his arms crossed as he simply stared down the weakened Alpha Pokémon. Seeing this exit cut off, he began hobbling over to the other one, only to stop as Cresselia appeared with an army of Chansey lead by an angry looking Blissey.
“I am not getting out of this room am I?” asked Arceus.
“No,” said Cresselia, before looking to the Blissey and her army, “He’s all yours ladies.”
“Right,” said the Blissey, before she and her Chansey moved in to aid the Alpha Pokémon.
*
“So that’s why it did so much damage,” said Mew in wonderment, floating alongside Thomas as they headed back to Abby’s office.
“Yeah, though to be fair, if he had used the Iron Plate, he would have only taken half damage, but he decided to let the attack hit him full force.”
“Well daddy hasn’t always been the smartest when it comes to stuff like this…then again the only thing that usually holds type advantage on him is fighting types, and he could just negate that with the Fist Plate.”
Stopping in front of Abby’s office door, Mew sighed. “Well, I better go back to the Hall of Legends to make sure daddy behaves, but I’ll be back to talk with you soon, for I’ll want to have a discussion with out about the Tandor region.”
“See you soon then,” said Thomas, before heading into Abby’s office as Mew teleported away. Sitting back down, Thomas watched as Abby picked up the list again, Abby beginning to look it over once more as she directed a question towards Thomas.
“So, I think Urayne was just about to tell me how you guys had all these names?”
“She was,” said Thomas, “but first, have you ever met a man named Professor Plywood?”
“Of course,” said Abby, “everyone called him the traveling professor, due to the fact he never stayed in one place for too long.”
“Well to get the most shocking thing out of the way first, Plywood wasn’t human, he was a Ditto.”
Abby blinked, “What?”
“You heard me,” said Thomas.
“Well if it weren’t for that one ditto I encountered a while back, I would be calling bullshit, but how the hell was he able to hold that form for so long?”
Pulling out another book, Thomas flipped to a specific page and began reading. “Project six two six, day forty seven, subject number four. The subject has been able to perfectly mimic the shape of objects and people we have put before it, but cannot hold the form for long, hopefully its offspring will prove better. Day one hundred and nine, subject number seven. Subject has been able to hold form for days on end, but when it attempts to create a unique form, it fails utterly, so like with previous subjects we will be moving on. Day one hundred fifty four, subject ten. Subject ten has surpassed all out expectations, able to create its own form at will and hold it, seemingly indefinitely…”
Closing the book, Thomas looked up. “I found him in a Team Rocket Facility on one of the islands in the Hoenn Region, though I never reported finding him because I thought he would be…useful for a project of mine.”
“Let me guess,” said Abby, “infiltrating the Ranger Union?”
Thomas nodded, “Though sadly I did not come up with his name, he did it simply for the fact that Plywood is fake wood, and he was masquerading as a professor.”
“Well he was damn good at his job,” said Abby, “I don’t think anyone suspected a thing, though now that brings up a bigger question, what exactly do you want me to do with this list?”
“Simple,” said Thomas, “I want you to find all the people named in that list and arrest them for the murder of those Pokémon.”
Abby face pawed, “I was afraid you were going to say that.”
Author's Note
"Well this was a fun chapter, but first, did I just Punch Out Cthulhu? *checks TV Tropes* yep, I just Punched Out Cthulhu, ok, carry on."
…Anyways, I can understand why many people might have a problem with Arceus essentially getting One Punch Manned like that, but here is my reasons for why I think this would happen.
1). In Pokemon Uranium not only do you have the standard X2 weaknesses when it comes to type advantage, you have a X4 weakness in some cases, especially when it comes to Nuclear Types. Given that Arceus has never encountered this type before, I thought it was safe to assume that he would have this X4 weakness to Nuclear.
2). If you compare Arceus and and Urayne's stats at level 100, she has him beat in a few stats, and and nearly matches him in others, so I could see Urayne beating him, though it would be close.
And now to the last two things to address. I know Pokemon Uranium fans are going to flip at what I implied in regards to Urayne Mega-Evolving, but I have a reason for that. When Urayne was first encountered it was unstable, having to constantly consume Uranium to survive, and I believe that coupled with the link she had with C.U.R.I.E., forced her into a constantly Mega-Evolved state, and now that she is stabilized she could potentially Mega-Evolve through her connection with Thomas.
And finally, the line Arceus stated about the only elements they do not know about are the ones they've forgotten was not some throw away line, it was actually my way of leaving a door open so that in the future, when the next Pokemon game comes out and they introduce new elements to the game, they be more smoothly introduced into the story, rather then having to entirely re-write the story to fit in a new element.
With all that said, next chapter will go more in depth as to Thomas's mission, so till next time, if you guys have any questions or comments, please feel free to drop them on by, I love hearing from you guys.
Oh, and for those who need a visual aid on Urayne's two forms.
Alpha Form:
Beta Form:
A New World, An Old Crime
“How could humans build such things…?”
Twilight had spent most of her time after her encounter with Thomas looking for the books he had suggested, and now that she had she was even more amazed by the former humans then she already had been.
She of course knew what Uranium was, for it was in many places across Eques, and was absurdly hard to work with. It resisted magical manipulation, and it was extremely harmful unless one had protection, so to find that humans had not only found out how to use it, but they had even figured out how to improve it, was truly astounding.
And once again, like with many of the human advances, she found herself wondering why Princess Celestia still refused to allow them to begin sharing their technology. It had been months since the new Ranger Union HQ had been set up, and it had been just as long since that building had been tricked out with various human technologies, due to Abby insisting that they would be needed to help the rangers.
Though the advances were showing no sign of upsetting anything, Princess Celestia still refused to move any further towards technological advance, despite the growing demand for advancement from both Pokémon as well as ponies, the Pokémon talking about how it would give them piece of mind, and the ponies talking about how such technologies would improve daily life in Equestria.
But, no matter how many argued, she refused to move any further in spreading the new technology out, and she always used the same excuse, that she needed more time to evaluate.
“She’s been evaluating for months,” said Twilight out loud, groaning a bit as she got up from where she was sitting before looking out her window toward the Union HQ, and with a sigh of determination she got up and headed for the door.
“I think it’s time me and Abby try to talk to her again.”
*
“Thomas, I want you to think really long and hard before you try and push this…”
“I have thought long enough,” said Thomas, “these mon deserve justice.”
“Thomas I understand,” said Abby, “but you have to understand that this is no simple matter, because what you’re asking for would tantamount to the largest arrest mission in the history of the Ranger Union, and that is not an easy thing to manage, especially considering we are still low on people to do this kind of mission.”
“I know,” said Thomas, “but you have to understand, I don’t care how long this is going to take, as long as it is done right. However, if you do not want to take this mission, I will be forced to take this matter to Arceus and see how he deals with it.”
“You wouldn’t!”
“I don’t want to, believe me,” said Thomas. “It would not be pretty, and there is of course the possibility he may overreact and target those who simply stood by while his Pokémon were murdered, and that would get messy. This is why I want the Rangers to take on this mission, for while I know it would take longer to bring these people to justice, I also know that I would not have to fear the Rangers reacting in an overzealous manner.”
Leaning forward, Thomas smiled, “so to paraphrase a line from one of my favorite movies, help me Abby Trombly, you’re my only hope.”
While Urayne face palmed, Abby growled, “Fine, we’ll take the mission, but this is going to require a fuck ton of paperwork, and I expect you to be here when I present this nightmare to my mother, who has final say on whether this mission goes through or not.”
“I can accept that,” said Thomas, before turning around as an Eevee walked in and spoke to Abby.
“Mam, Princess Twilight is outside and wishes to speak with you, should I send her in.”
“Send her in,” said Abby, watching as the Eevee left before shooting a glare at Thomas as he began to rise, “You stay there, this shouldn’t take long, and afterword’s we can head to my mother’s office to bring your case to her.”
Thomas sat back down as Twilight walked into the office, the alicorn looking a bit surprised before shaking it off and turning to Abby as she closed the door. “Abby, I think it’s time we take another crack at convincing Celestia to move forward with spreading the technologies from Earth to Equestria.”
“Well you know how I’m a sucker for hopeless causes,” said Abby with a smirk, “but I think it will go about as well as any of the other times we’ve tried, she always uses the same excuse.”
“I may be able to help,” said Thomas.
Silence hung in the room for a moment, and as Twilight went to speak, Abby cut her off. “By Arceus you’re a genius.”
When Twilight shot her a confused look, Abby explained, “Twilight, this is Thomas Arden, a former spokesmen for Pokephillia Rehabilitation, against his will as it turns out, and is probably one of the best known people when it comes to convincing someone to do something they are particularly against doing.”
“…Example?”
“The government of the Alola Region was neither for nor against Pokephillia, never condoning it outright, nor allowing Rangers to arrest anyone who was suspected. I was assigned by my “employer” to convince them that people of that nature were not well and that they needed to be brought in so that we could help them. It took me a week, but by the end of that week Alola had officially recognized Pokephillia as a problem, and lifted the restrictions on the Ranger Union the very next day. Now, I know that may have sounded bad and all given this lovely knew world, but I could offer to do the same in regards to this technological problem, for it would be nice to actually use these talking skills for a good rather than…well Bullshit.”
“Be careful who you say that around,” said Twilight, “But if you’re as good as you say, we could always use more help in this venture.”
“I’d be happy to help,” said Thomas, “when do we leave.”
*
“So Nuclear Pokémon were banned outside of Tandor?”
Thomas nodded his head as he rested comfortably on his seat aboard the train, which was making its way to Canterlot. “It’s mainly due to the fact that they didn’t know if the Nuclear Type moves were contagious, which added restrictions to those wanting to visit Tandor. Add on top of that Tandor’s protected status, and it became downright impossible to travel there unless you had the proper papers or were a resident of Tandor.”
That got a curious look from Twilight, “Tandor was under protective status, that’s interesting to hear, nothing in my books said anything about that.”
“It was a recent development,” said Abby, “I think it happened after Tandor when from being an isolationist government to a more open one.”
“Yep,” said Thomas, “and once the rangers found out how many so called extinct Pokémon existed on Tandor, they were quick to get the entire region marked with protective status, which made it the first and only region to receive such a treatment.”
“Well it was a right pain in the ass,” said Abby, “the paper work alone kept many of us from going there, we just left the nitty gritty to the local Ranger unit that got established there.”
“I see,” said Twilight, before turning to Urayne as she watched the being put a hand to her belly, which was noticeably bigger, “Are you alright?”
“I am fine,” said Urayne with a smile, “I was just checking on our egg, I completely forgot to do so after exerting myself earlier.”
Smiling, Thomas nuzzled his mate and spoke. “How is our little miracle doing love?”
“She is doing well,” said Urayne, “growing just fine, especially given the transfer.”
Twilight, Abby’s and Kasai’s eyes widened in shock at that, and Kasai chose that moment to speak. “Ok, let me see if I am hearing this right. From the way you are talking, the egg in her is yours, but she is implying that she got pregnant before we were all transferred here.”
Urayne nodded.
“H…how…?” said Abby, before jumping as a crying sound emitted from Kasai’s tail, Kasai sighing before pulling their little bundles of joy out from his tail and passing them to Abby, who nuzzled them close to her teats before placing a few of her tails over to cover them before looking back to Thomas and speaking. “OK, seriously how did you manage that, because unless some scientists in Tandor have been doing some highly illegal genetic tampering in secret all these years, there is now way that egg can be yours?”
Thomas simple smiled, before looking to his mate and speaking, “You want to explain this dear, you were always better at it then I was.”
Nodding her head, Urayne snuggled up close to her mate before beginning her tale, not even batting an eye as Twilight materialized a quill and parchment and began taking notes. “Well, after I…um, modified myself so I could properly be with Thomas, I eventually realized that I…well that I desired to one day have children with him, so I began looking into further altering myself. However, before I could begin working on that, two of Thomas’s Pokémon asked if they could…be my first test subjects, as they wanted children but lacked the ability to conceive.”
“Let me guess,” said Abby, “different egg groups?”
“Precisely,” said Urayne. “It took me several tries to figure it out…which may have involved a few exploded beakers, but eventually I became comfortable enough with my experiment to test it on the pair, which resulted in a healthy litter of Orchynx and Cubbug’s. I then preformed the same process on several other couple to make sure it worked, before finally moving on to make the attempt to modify myself and my beloved mate.”
“At which point she nearly blew up her lab in rage at what she discovered,” said Thomas with a smirk.
“Well I would assume it would be harder getting Pokémon and Humans to create a child then different Pokémon right?” Said Twilight.
Urayne growled at that, “Quite the opposite in fact, it was entirely too easy, which is what caused my rage.”
When she got confused look from both Twilight Kasai, and Abby, Urayne turned toward Abby and spoke. “You’ve been to the Sinnoh Region correct, to the library?”
Abby nodded her head, “Yes, but I don’t see how that relates to this.”
“Because it appears that one of the legends spoken of in the books in Canalave Library are true, for when I took a closer examination of mine and my beloveds DNA, I found a dormant gene which allowed Humans and Pokémon to have children, and it was a simple matter of awakening that gene from its dormancy. As I said, it was entirely too easy.”
There was silence for a moment, and then Kasai growled as he spoke, “So you’re telling us that you essentially tore down one of the greatest arguments used against us, and yet your mate still peddled that…that…”
“Kasai,” said Abby, nuzzling close to him, “I’m sure they had their reasons, though I would like to hear them.”
“Well think about it,” said Thomas, “If I, a supposedly reformed Pokephile, came out and told the world that my Pokémon had found a way to allow Pokémon and humans to procreate and is pregnant with my child…well I don’t think I need to tell you what would have happened.”
“You would have been arrested, though I don’t know how the hell the rangers would have handled Urayne, I mean she is a legendary.”
“Exactly,” said Thomas, “which is why I put so much faith in Cynthia, for she really had a good plan.”
“I keep hearing about this plan,” said Twilight, “yet every time I ask Abby about it she tells me she didn’t know much about it.”
Thomas smirked at that, “Well Cynthia liked keeping things close to the chest, but seeing as how the plan is kind of moot, I think it would be safe to share. We were originally going to meet with Seth to discuss a plan for the big meeting, as well as go over out two big trump cards.”
“Well the first trump card I think is obvious,” said Twilight, “what with Urayne being pregnant, but what would the second one be?”
“Well for that,” said Thomas, “I have to ask a question of our dear ranger here.”
Looking to Abby, Thomas spoke again. “Now Abby, besides the fact that Humans and Pokémon could not produce children, what was the largest argument used when people would try to defend Pokémon/Human relationships?”
“Well that’s simple,” said Kasai, cutting Abby off as the Arcanine spoke. “The second biggest argument was that Humans could not understand Pokémon, thus it was impossible to confirm consent, which is bullshit when you have Pokémon who could speak English, as well as Psychic types.”
“Correct,” said Thomas, “which is why I was going to show both Cynthia and Seth this little beauty.”
Reaching into his bag with his telekinesis, he pulled out a little device, handing it to Twilight before looking to Abby and speaking. “Abby, I want you to take off your translation necklace, but don’t speak till I give you the word ok?”
Nodding her head in confusion, Abby took off the necklace, a small sapphire on a string which all Pokémon wore to help converse with ponies and others, and set it aside as she watched Thomas place the device upon Twilight and activate it with a button press. “Ok Abby, fire away.”
“You can’t be…”
She stopped when Twilight gasped, looking confused for a moment till it finally clicked in her head, the former human pointing to the device in shock as she spoke. “Wait, is that…”
“A Pokémon translation device,” said Thomas proudly, before gesturing for Abby to put her necklace back on as he took the device from Twilight.
“Ok,” said Kasai, “what the fuck…is this another bloody Tandor thing?”
Thomas nodded at that, “Mhmm, Professor Cypress didn’t want it coming out till she was sure it would work in any situation, though testing was halted a bit when during one of her tests she overheard how her Electruxo would love nothing more than to be able to bend her over a table and fuck her brains out, which considering they are like Rabidash…”
Abby nearly choked, while Kasai’s eyes bulged, which left Twilight looking confused. “Um…am I missing something here?”
Thomas chuckled, before looking to the princess with a smirk and speaking. “How big in the…hmm…genital department would you say Saddle Arabian males are?”
Twilight blushed, “Um…pretty big, usually twice as big as pony males.”
“Rabidash and Electruxo are about the same size, if not bigger.”
Twilight’s blush achieved new shades of red, and by this point Abby and Kasai were doing their best to hold back their snickers.
“Which is why I was immensely thankful that I was the one who stumbled upon her in her lab… Even though I found her in an unconscious drooling mess with her Electruxo, who was panicking while trying to nuzzle her to consciousness, mostly due to having fucked her into a stupor.”
Twilight had turned such a deep shade of red she almost equaled Big Macintosh in color, meanwhile Kasai was rolling on the floor laughing while Abby giggled up a storm.
When they both eventually calmed down, Kasai spoke up. “Heh, that must have been a sight to behold, though it’s a miracle she’s not dead.”
“Well I want to know why you found her like that in the first place,” said Abby, “I mean hearing your Pokémon wants to fuck you is one thing, but capitulating right off the bat?”
“Well to be fair she had a major crush on him for years,” said Thomas, “Plus it didn’t help that the scenario was like something out of some…let’s just say racy literature that she liked to read.”
That got an eyebrow quirk from Abby, “Wait…I thought Pokémon Pornography was illegal?”
“Oh come on,” said Twilight, “You’re telling me that Pokémon weren’t allowed to have a form of adult literature?”
“Not even a racy romance,” said Kasai, before looking to Urayne as she chuckled, “what?”
“Tandor was a bit more…open when it came to racy Pokémon literature,” said Urayne, “for while it was illegal for humans to write adult Pokémon literature, it was not illegal for Pokémon to write or sell adult Pokémon literature, nor was it illegal for humans to purchase such literature from these sellers…as long as they stated it was for their Pokémon.”
“Anyways,” said Thomas, “after getting her cleaned up and back to work, she fine-tuned it a bit more, before finally it was finished, and after giving me my own, she set about creating more while I began coordinating with Cynthia on how to best get out little movement off the ground. And then…before the big meeting with Mr. Crescent was set to happen…Arceus happened.”
“Sounds about right,” said Abby, before jumping a bit as a whistle sounded, everyone looking to see that they had arrived at Canterlot station.
They quickly exited the train, but as they disembarked and began unloading their luggage, Thomas was stopped as a voice called out to him.
“Mr. Thomas, is that you?”
“I know that voice…”
Thomas turned to look at who spoke to him, then let out a growl as he spotted a Shiny Gallade wearing a black zoot suit trimmed in gold, standing arm in arm with a Shiny Gardevoir wearing a dress colored in a similar fashion.
“…Palentine!”

Man this was a big info dump, hope it wasn't too big, though I promise, next chapter will be a lot less info heavy, so till then if you guys have any questions or comments, please feel free to drop them on by, I love hearing from you guys.
