The Adventures of Greg and Vlad: The dimensional jump
“So, do you believe what the Inn keeper said about a Goblin outpost being in the middle of the desert?” Vladimir the Barbarian asked.
“I do not know, my friend. I will believe it when I see it.” Replied Gregoth the Wizard. “Its worth the gold you know. I need it for a new window, the one that you broke remember?”
“Oh yeah… I was wondering why we’re doing this in the first place!” Replied Vlad with a guilty tone in his voice. “Sorry about that again. like I said, I was practicing my axe throwing and your window happened to be in the way.”
“Well, it seems you need a LOT more practice if the damn target was three feet under my window!” Gregoth said. Vladimir chuckled.
“Lets pick up the pace, we are almost there.” He said trying to change the subject as they walk.
====================================
The valley was dark and cold, nothing special. It seemed to be like a maze of rocks and sand with some rocky overhangs above. The search for the ’Goblin Outpost’ had begun. Vladimir and Gregoth stayed together not separating. After a while, Gregoth noticed his friend Vladimir was getting rather annoyed by sheer boredom.
“Greg, we have been out here for an hour!” Vladimir yawned, “I don’t think there is a goblin outpost here. Lets just head….” As Vladimir was finishing his sentence, Gregoth ears twitched at the sound of stumbling rocks.
“Stop.” Gregoth held his hand up to his friend signaling to be quiet, “Did you hear that?” Gregoth turned around and noticed a small pile of pebbles that have fallen next to him. He quickly peered up at a small overhang to see if anything was there. Nothing.
“Hear what? Don’t be so paranoid. There is nothing here besides rocks and dust!” Vladimir exclaimed to Gregoth, “Lets head back and tell Inn keeper that nothing is here.”
Gregoth paused for a second, then nodded at his barbarian friend. He still was suspicious. As they took a few steps back, more rocks began fall in front of Gregoth. He looked up quickly and noticed something moving. He looked again and noticed it was a goblin, with a short bow. Gregoth pointed his quarterstaff In the direction of the running goblin.
“Ray of Frost!” Gregoth yelled as his the end of his staff began to glow light blue. A beam of ice shot toward the little goblin. It hit the goblin in the chest, it recoiled him back and sent him falling. The goblin landed with a loud *Crack* and *Thud*. Vladimir was startled and pulled out his duel battle axes.
“Calm down, I killed him.” The Elf wizard said to the startled Human Barbarian. “I had a feeling we where being watched. We're alright now.”
“Why would there be a goblin out in the middle of nowhere?” Vladimir asked, “They never go alone, they are always in-” Vladimir stopped as he readied his axes. “Groups…” As soon as his words made existence four goblins appeared around them with hammers and dirks. Two was facing Vladimir and two was facing Gregoth.
“This seems quite familiar doesn’t it Vlad?” Gregoth said,
“Yea, it reminds me when we where on that mountain pass with those drunk Dwarves.” Replied the Barbarian chuckling a bit, "That fight was fun".
Before anyone could make their move. A sudden bubble of purple energy appeared above the goblins Gregoth was faced with. In terror of the orb, the two goblins fled, but the ones where Vlad was facing just stood there.
The bubble was as large as Gregoth.
“Vlad, look!” The old wizard shouted. Vladimir turned around to see the purple veil becoming more dense with a darker shade of purple. A silhouette started to appear in the purple orb. The silhouette became more clear. It seemed to be a horse, but smaller and had a sharply pointed horn sticking out of it’s forehead. When the silhouette became perfectly visible Gregoth stepped forward. He began to extend his quarter staff toward the bubble. The tip of the staff puckered the orb. The magic within the orb began to collide with the magic in Gregoth’s quarterstaff. As a result, a bright purple flash appeared, Gregoth and Vladimir closed their eyes to protect them from the bright light. Vladimir began to open his eyes as the light dimmed down a bit. Vlad quickly turned around and threw his axes straight at the bewildered goblins that where covering their eyes, puncturing their skull’s and killing them instantly.
‘Good aim Vlad’ Vladimir thought to himself smirking. Soon after, Gregoth opened his eyes to find the magic bubble had disappeared leaving a purple horse laying on the ground, out like a light.
The Adventures of Greg and Vlad: The dimensional jump
“Was I just injected with poison, or is that a real horse on the ground?” Gregoth said half confused, “And it has a horn. So it’s a Unicorn?”
Vladimir began walking towards the dead goblins ignoring Gregoth lost in his own train of thought. ’Hmmm, that’s two more kills to the list, placed under the small and pathetic section.’ He thought to himself. He picked up his bloody Battleaxes cleaning off the blood with his fur greaves, then attached them back into their holsters on his waist. He turns around to walk back to Gregoth, but stops on the first step. His mind is racing with questions as he saw the purple unicorn in front of his best friend.
“WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!” Yelled Vladimir.
“It’s a horse with a horn.” Gregoth said as calmly. He was more confused then shocked, “It seems to be unconscious.”
“Why is it so… purple?!” Asked Vladimir walking up to the sleeping creature, “Its literally the most brightest colored being I have ever seen.” Vlad crouched down to get a closer look at the creature’s face.
“Ugh…..” the unicorn mumbled. Vlad sprang up fast and took a few steps away. “Where… where am I?” It began to open its eyes slowly. Vlad froze in position as the horse began to wake up.
‘It… it….. ca… can talk?’ Vladimir whispered to himself, “Hey Greg, did you just hear this thing talk, Or am I crazy?” Vladimir said nervously to his friend.
“I wish, but its apparently real, my friend.” Gregoth said and sighed afterwards. “Hey little creature, I have an answer to you question.”
“Huh….?” The little horse said still woozy,
“Your in the middle a desert with my friend and I. Now I have a question for you.” Gregoth said it a light voice. “How did you get here?” The creature opened its eyes and sprang up on all fours, glaring at Gregoth. Its pupils where small and it looked frightened. “Its ok, we wont hurt you. Just we want to ask you a few questions.” The purple horse did not respond to the question.
Everyone stood frozen for a long moment, until the purple unicorn closed its eyes and took on a different pose. The pose looked like it was concentrating on something. It’s horn began to emit a violet glow and the dust around them was blown away almost immediately. The wizard knew what she was doing, casting a spell. He did not know which one, though he could tell it was an Arcane spell by the violet aurora that began to surround the group. Vladimir broke out of his shocked state and took out a battleaxe.
“Hey you! Stop whatever that you are doing!” Vladimir yelled in a threatening voice. The unicorn never flinched or responded it just kept concentrating. He began to walk up slowly to the unicorn. “This your last warning unicorn! Stop now or feel cold steel in your skull!” He again threatened.
“Don’t scare it anymore than it is Vlad! You don’t know-” Gregoth was cut short of the ignorant barbarian charging at the unicorn.
“CHARGE!” He yelled running fast with his battleaxe above his head then pulled behind his back. The unicorn still did not move, but the purple aurora began to fold into the same bubble shape as the one Gregoth popped. “I warned you!” He said and flung his axe toward the unicorn. It seemed the entire area was in slow motion as the axe made its way toward the forehead of the unicorn. Gregoth tried to reach out and grab the axe, but missed nearly falling to the floor. As the axe came in a few inch distance of the head of the unicorn, Its eyes slowly opened with narrowed pupils glaring the battleaxe. Again, Vlad’s axe throwing skills had failed once more. The end of the handle hit the tip of the unicorn’s horn, causing a explosion of violet energy to be spread throughout the bubble. Then, the same bright purple flash accrued once again as the group suddenly vanished.

Gregoth soon was feeling weightless. He opened his eyes to find himself falling. He looked toward an unconscious Vladimir falling on his left, and an unconscious unicorn falling on his right. He still had a good grip on his quarterstaff as he fell. As they fell, the ground became in sight as the clouds faded away. Quickly, Gregoth focused for a moment, while a blue sphere began to appear around the group.
“Teleportation!” Gregoth yelled as the end of his staff emitted a bright light, engulfing the entire group.
=======================================
Gregoth slowly began to open his eyes and took it his surroundings. He saw that everyone was on the ground safe, and noticed a forest and a cottage just outside it. He peered around a bit more and noticed a small village in the distance. Gregoth stood up now peering over the his friend and the animal.
“Vladimir, wake up! This is no time for a nap!” Gregoth yelled picking his unconscious friend up by the collar of his shirt. Almost instantly, the barbarian woke up jumping to his feet breathing hard. “HEY! Calm down! I just saved us from dieing.” Gregoth said to his friend trying to calm him down.
“Where are we?” Vladimir replied a bit calmed down.
“Does it look like I know? This ‘thing’ teleported us here… well not here but up there.” Gregoth said pointing up at the sky above. “We would have died if I didn’t use my own teleportation spell to bring us to the ground safely.”
“Thanks again Greg, that’s like the fourth time you saved my life.” Vladimir said. Gregoth did not react to the complement. He simply gazed upon the sleeping unicorn with a confused, and amazed look on his face. “You ok Gregoth?” asked the also confused barbarian.
“Yes, just puzzled on how a small creature could use a spell that powerful.” The wizard said bend own toward the unicorn. “Its remarkable how much manna it has.” Gregoth’s staff began to glow violet when he drew it close to unicorn’s horn.
The unicorn felt the magic from the wizard’s staff collide with her own and woke up immediately in shock. It stood up on all fours again. ‘Dejavu’ Gregoth thought to himself.
“Like I said before little horse, we are not here to hurt you.” Gregoth again said in a calm voice. “Now, a new question; where are we?”
The unicorn began to relax looking like it trusted the wizard’s words. “You are in Equestria. I am sorry for taking you with me, but your friend there messed up my concentration!” The unicorn yelled in a feminine voice pointing at Vladimir. Vlad just sighed heavily.
“Well if you had cooperated, we wouldn’t be in this mess!” The angry barbarian yelled back.
“Cooperated?! You guys scared me half to death!” The unicorn exclaimed, “All I wanted was to get back here and fast, but you had to throw that…. Thing at me!” She pointed down at the battleaxe that sat on the grass. The axe had a violet glow to it, like it had been enchanted by the unicorn’s magic.
“Well… uh-” Vladimir began, but was cut off by Gregoth.
“Enough arguing!” Yelled the irritated wizard. “My name is Gregoth Linsmith, and this blockhead over here is my best friend, Vladimir Snowshield. What may be yours?”
“I am Twilight Sparkle, royal apprentice of Princess Celestia herself.” She replied. “So… what are you? I have never seen your kind before.”
“Well, I am an Elf. We are wise and may live a long time, mostly gaining knowledge of the Arcane.” Replied the wizard, “But, there are Elves who do not chose to follow that path. Some may chose to become Warriors, Archers, etcetera. I am what you would call, a Wizard.” Said the Elf bowing down before the unicorn.
“I am a human, most of us become Warriors but I chose to be a Barbarian because it ran in my family.” Vladimir said looking down at the Elf. “And why are you bowing to a horse?”
“I am not a horse! I am a pony!” Yelled the unicorn before Gregoth could answer.
“Vlad, I am just being polite this ‘pony’. Showing that I care for peace not violence.” Gregoth said straight to the barbarian. “I believe this pony has remarkable skills, she could pull off a dimensional teleportation spell without being resulted to mesh.” He said now glaring at the unicorn. She blushed a bit behind her purple coat. As he began to stand up, a loud scream came from the cottage in the distance startling the Wizard.
“Fluttershy!” Yelled the purple pony darting toward the cottage. The barbarian picked up his glowing axe off the ground and placed it back in it’s holder, then began to run after the unicorn. The Wizard began to follow running close behind his friend.
The Adventures of Greg and Vlad: The dimensional jump
A few minutes before the scream…
Fluttershy was having a good day. She was done tending to the animals, and Angel Bunny was not bugging her ferociously to make him treats. She had a lot of spare time. The animals cared for, Angel is not bugging her, and no animals where injured. Nothing was there for her to do. She trotted up stairs into her room and hopped on top on her bed pulling the blankets over herself. She was happy, and began to close her eyes slowly.
“Time for a nice nap…” The butter yellow Pegasus exclaimed and let out a deep sigh of relief. When her eyes where nearly closed, something came crashing through her roof and through the second story into the first. She jumped up startled, with shivering wide eyes glaring at the two craters that where just made in her house. She screamed loud in fright as she peered down at something moving under a pile of wood, nails, and roofing tile.
Currently…
The two friends ran fast behind the galloping pony trying to keep up.
“Who is this Fluttershy?!” Gregoth yelled in confusion.
“She is one of my closest friends! Something bad must have happened for her to scream like that!” Replied the worried Unicorn. As Twilight quickly came to the door she used her telekinesis to thrust it open, and leaped through the doorway. She took a sudden stop when she noticed the pile of rubble in her friends house. The two friends followed close behind her and stopped before the door panting. The two glared into the house, beyond the purple pony, and noticed the pile of rubble.
Fluttershy flew quickly down the hole in the first floor and leaped behind her friend and in-between both the Human and the Elf shivering in fear.
“What happened Fluttershy?” Asked Twilight turning her head slightly to look at her friend. At those words, the pile of rubble began to move slightly gaining everyone’s attention. It began to move more. The pile began to rise off the ground making the debris fall off itself. What stood was a creature that seemed to look like the human and elf. It wore cloth armor that was seen clearly under it’s battered black robe. It was clutching onto a staff that held a bright green crystal witch was emitting a green glow at the top. The being was facing away from the group as it stood, and slowly turned to look at Twilight slightly wobbling.
“Wha… where….” The creature said looking completely bewildered. It rose a hand up to its eyes and rubbed them, then took another glare at Twilight, then Fluttershy, then to the two similar beings behind the door. “Hey Greg… whe-” Suddenly, it clasped to the floor sending it’s staff rolling and causing Fluttershy to gasp in fear. Gregoth ran toward the fallen being, sliding onto his knees. He turned the being slowly over onto it’s back. “Myath!” He screamed looking down at his unconscious wife.
