“Well I’m finally done that essay.” you said to yourself cracking my knuckles. You were glad it was over because that English essay took you hours. But that was only because you had to separate your time. At least now it’s all over. Your fingers were hurting like hell but it’s done.
New year's eve had recently passed and you were trying to start off the new year with a more responsible attitude. Your friends thought it was a good idea. They've always been supportive of you since you first met them. But if there was one friend that you liked the most, it would be your crush. The day you met her changed her had changed your life forever.

It was a warm summer day. School had just let out and you were walking around the neighborhood until you came across the school you've been going to for a while now. You've been at this school since 2013, the year when Sunset Shimmer, your former best friend, had changed her ways. It's now 2017 and everyone is enjoying their summer right now while you were standing here staring at the school in it's empty likeness. Suddenly you hear a flash from the statue next to you and look over to see flashing white lights appear out of this specific side of it. You look over and see the most beautiful girl you've ever come across. She wore a black thin vest that covered her aqua green shirt, and wore a shade of gray jeans with holes around her knees. She had purple hair with mint-colored highlights had light purple skin and oceanic blue eyes which sparkled when the sun shined over them. To anyone she was another human but to you, she was a goddess born in heaven. You never were a type of guy who had a lot of confidence. Just enough to be able to talk to people. But when you laid eyes on this girl, this goddess, that all washed away. At first you were curious of where she came from but then you remember Sunset telling you about how this specific part of the statue was a portal that led to her old home in a place she called Equestria and it only made sense that this girl could have been from it.
She takes a long look at you before copying of how you were standing and tried to do the same but she kept on falling. Quickly, without any hesitation you run over to her and pick her up before she fell again. She brushes her clothes off before looking at you.
"Thanks."she says giving you a warm smile. Your heart started to beat faster as you felt her warm breath caress your ears. She's only said one word to you and you can't even think straight. You didn't know what to do. You were frozen admiring her beauty.
What do you do?
"Um...hello? Are you okay?"she asks waving her hand in front of you. Shit! She started to notice! And her arms smells so amazing! Goddammit dude! What the fuck are you doing?! Say something?! Anything just fucking something!
"Bananas!"
"Uh...what?" Really? Really?! Bananas?! Say something relevant you retard!
"S-Sorry, I was just thinking about eating bananas, they're uh...my favorite fruit?"you said. Wow. Are you really trying to make a fool of yourself in front of the most stunning goddess of the universe? You look at her. And she looks at you. You look at her. And she looks at you. You start to sweat from how awkwardly long the silence was until she finally broke it.
"Ooookay then. Well anyway, I'm Starlight Glimmer. It's nice to meet you."she says with a cute smile spread across her face. She extends her arm and was having a little trouble with it. She glanced at you a felt a little embarrassed as her cheeks turn a light shade of pink. You chuckle and pull her arm out for her and shake her hand. She smiles warmly which made you smile.
"Thanks...again. What's your name by the way?"she asks giving me a larger smile.
"Oh! Um...my name? It's uh...Anon." I said trying to find my confidence but she was too beautiful for it. The sun was shining over her making more beautiful than ever.
"That's a nice name. Do you happen to know where Sunset Shimmer is?"she asks. I shake my head.
"No I'm afraid no-" as if on cue, you were interrupted by the sound of your phone buzzing. You groan and take it out of your pocket. It was a text message from Sunset.
If you ever come across a girl named Starlight Glimmer. Bring her to Sugarcube Corner but don't tell her that we're here. !)
You were a little confused of what was going on in her head but you decide to role with it.
"On second thought, I think I might know." You said looking up from your phone at her. She was staring at your phone with her hand on her chin.
"Um...Starlight?"
"Hmm? Oh sorry, I was just wondering what that thing is that your holding?"she asks. That's right, she's from another universe.
"This is a cell phone. It has many uses like being able to contact your friends when they're not around. It sends a signal to their phone." You explain.
"And...there's no magic needed?" Starlight asks. You shook your head.
"Nope. It ain't magic, it's technology." you say jokingly. Starlight giggles. You assume it was just because of your tone. You honestly thought that they probably don't have technology back there.
"That's sounds really cool. Where can I get one?" Starlight asks.
"Maybe look in one of your pockets." You said pointing at them to make sure she knows what they are. Starlight turns her pockets inside out and finds nothing. You take a step closer to her with your face slowly starting to heat up. You look down at her.
"Do you mind if I check?" You ask with a slight blush. She nods and lifts her hands up and unfortunately, so does her shirt a little. You try not to look as you check her vest pockets for a phone when you felt something hard and pulled it out.
"Here it is." you said gently pulling it out of her pocket. It was a purple phone with a light green highlight, the same color of her hair. You gently hand it to her as you try to get rid of your blush as fast as you can before she notices. Starlight found the power button and turned it on.
"Wow this is really cool. Now how do I contact you?"
"It's actually very easy but I'll have Micro Chips set it up for you later. Right now we should head to Sugarcube Corner." You said. Starlight gasped.
"There's a Sugarcube Corner here too?"
"Yeah, though it might be a little different from how you saw it back in that land of Equestria."
"Here. I'll take you there. After all, I don't want you to embarrass yourself by falling again." You said grabbing her hand. You felt your face heat up from how close you were to her now physically touching her. Her hand was soft and warm. Your faces were a little close to each other as you slowly pull back and become flushed to what just happened. You idiot! You made her feel uncomfortable!
"Uh...sorry about that." you say letting her hand go.
"Um...it's okay. L-Let's just walk together to Sugarcube Corner." Starlight says as you slightly scoot away from her. She starts to crouch down and walks on her hands and knees giving you a perfect view of her...don't even think about that Anon.
"Uh...y-you should probably get back up Starlight. It must feel weird to not be a pony anymore but you will attract a lot of attention to yourself if you do that." You said. Starlight's face grew a little red.
"Oh right. I forgot about that. Sunset always said I made a good distraction."she said. You chuckle and help her up. You both start to walk down the sidewalk to Sugarcube Corner talking about various things like your friends, how things work here, etc.
Finally, you arrive at Sugarcube Corner and not much to your surprise Starlight has a look of disappointment.
"Well here we are Starlight. Sugarcube Corner." you said. Starlight take a long look at it as a random tumbleweed passes across the street.
"It looks...deserted. Where is everypon-err everybody?" she asks rephrasing her grammar. You shrug.
"Probably enjoying themselves at home. It's summer vacation after all." You said. Starlight was about to open her mouth asking what that was but you answered before she could ask.
"And by that I mean a 3 month break from school for kids and young adults and certain jobs for other mature individuals." you say trying to impress her with your way of words. Probably a stupid idea.
"Alright so let's head on in." you say as you and her look both ways before crossing the street over to Sugarcube Corner. Slowly, you open the door for her. She smiles and nods at you signaling a thanks. When you open the door on the inside, you and her become startled by the rush of a bunch of girls you recognized jumping out from behind the furniture of the place.
"SURPRISE!!!" they exclaim. Starlight gasped and put a hand on her heart.
"Welcome back Starlight!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed giving her a big hug.
"Pinkie...did you do all this for me?" Starlight asks.
"We all did silly. Sunset here said you were coming back so we decided to throw a welcome back party for you." Pinkie explained.
"Are you visiting darling?" Rarity asks.
"Actually, Princess Twilight decided to send me here after I was done being her student so...I guess I'm staying."
"That's wonderful sugarcube!" Applejack exclaimed. They all gave Starlight a hug and pulled you into it too. Of course it was probably gonna choke you to death but you're next to an angel that could probably bring you back at any moment. After a few minutes they release the hug and you take a long and huge gasp of air.
"So who's gonna let her stay with them?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"I can. If you want to Starlight." you said as your face heated up a little. The others started to exchange giggles.
"I was gonna stay with Twilight since I recall her having a bigger house." Starlight said smiling at her. You were still smiling but your brain was doing it's best to hold back your tears.
"Okay then. Just making a suggestion." you said as your blush faded. Sunset then spoke up.
"Hey Anon, maybe you can help her get settled in."she said. Starlight gets a little extra happy.
"Yeah. That's a great idea Sunset! Are you willing to do it Anon?"she asks turning to you. You were still nervous but you put on a confident smile.
"I'll be willing to do anything." You said.
"Great! Is it okay if we get to it now Twilight?" Starlight asks. Twilight nods.
"Sure. I'll give you the grand tour." Twilight says jokingly. For a real bookworm, Twilight has a good sense of humor. She walks towards the door with you and the goddess of beauty following behind as you all waved bye to your friends. You had a good feeling that Starlight had a good impression of you and maybe she even likes you back considering how shy she was when she saw you. But you’re thinking way too much about this. Just start off as friends, those always workout a good relationship.

Since then, you and Starlight have gotten to know each other a lot better. You never felt so happy in all your life. Though the only problem was that you were easily flustered around her. Your friends had taken notice of this and always teased you about it when Starlight wasn't around. They would say lots of things like,
"It's only a matter of time lover boy!"
They would constantly nag you about it. It made you flustered but it also annoyed you. You always told them that you would only confess whenever you felt like it. Though, it may have opened a can of worms because they added that to the list of 'things to nag Anon about'. You looked down at your watch and it read 2:00.
‘Seems like I have some spare time before the bell rings.’ you thought.
‘Correction, I have a lot of spare time before the bell rings.’ you thought. You started thinking about what you could do with this large amount of spare time. All of your homework and projects were done. There weren’t any upcoming exams or tests. You couldn’t bother your friends because they are probably still working on something. You kept thinking about what to do until you got an idea.
‘A good way to pass time is to read some fanfictions.’. You quickly typed up fimfiction.net and pressed enter to reveal a colorful logo with a rainbow at the top of it.
‘They never fail to disappoint.’ you thought smiling. You started to explore the website. You were actually quite impressed with this. The majority of fanfics you read over the years were pretty well written and they still are now. Though there were some that you thought could use a little adjustment and you made sure to give the writers some feedback on it to let them know. It seemed rather enjoyable at the moment to read these because most of them were happy and easy to imagine in your head.
You then come across a certain fanfic that seemed new to you but you had the urge to do it because it was a fanfic about your hoping to be future girlfriend, Starlight Glimmer.
But the title showed a picture of her with a sad face and the fanfic had a tag that said it was a sad fanfic. Now you were a guy who shows a lot of emotion towards anybody but that was only positive emotions, so if this fanfic really is sad then maybe you might not be able to handle it. Still, it was Starlight Glimmer, the most beautiful girl that was made from heaven and you were a little furious but also curious to why she was crying. You were about to click on the link to chapter one when you think about this for a moment.
'I love Starlight deeply so if this is sad it might change me. I probably shouldn't do it. Still...it's Starlight Glimmer. The angelic girl from heaven. Besides it's just a fanfic. How sad could it possibly be?' Slowly without hesitation you click on the link
When you clicked on the chapter title, it took you to the story with a author's note at the top saying that this now has a fanfic reading. You always loved the fanfic readings because it helps you follow along and imagine the scenario. It embraces the nature of imagination.

You were wrong. This was really sad. So sad that you had to stop the audio play with one third of it through and logged out of the computer. The drops of tears you shedded fell on to the keyboard most likely washing off any germs that had been there and possibly short circuiting it. Never before have you read something so depressing. When you heard the words, ‘Starlight’ and negative words like 'suicide' or 'depressed' in the same sentence, that was all it took for it to leave a stain deep in your heart. Sure it wasn’t real. It was just a fanfic but, you didn't know for sure since you could barley make it through the first part of the fanfic reading. Hearing those words together just makes your heart sink. It was hard to know what exactly to think about this.
Whoever written this fanfic was clearly a really good writer and cudos to whoever decided to make a fanfic reading on it. You meant that sincerely because it truly felt sad. It was sad enough to make you believe that this was real. This broke your heart deeply and you knew it did because you felt your heart shatter entirely. It pained your soul to see one of your closest friends, moreover your crush, pass away. You never had anyone die before in your life, but after hearing and reading that fanfic, you could already tell how painful it must have felt. You turned off the monitor of the computer and walked out of the library. Your eyes were puffy and red from all of the tears.
You've been sad plenty of times in your life but something like that is just...devastating to think about. Honestly, you loved all your friends with all your heart, though that was the whole school. But the friends you loved the most were, Sunset Shimmer, Twilight Sparkle, the other Twilight Sparkle, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Trixie Lulamoon, Pinkie Pie, Applejack and...Starlight Glimmer. A massive chill went up your spine as you thought about her name. It was always so pretty but now, this gave it another meaning as well. You grabbed the part of your chest where your heart was located tightly and tried to hold back your tears but to no avail. This just couldn't stop you from crying.
The last time you ever felt this devastated was when you saw the end of that YouTube video, My Little Dashie. That stabbed your heart pretty bad, but compared to what you just read today, that video could barely leave a mark in your heart. Though it still triggers the waterworks, it couldn't do any better than that fanfic. And to think that was only a fraction of the whole thing. You then saw a bathroom and quickly rushed to it before anyone was able to catch you in your emotional breakdown.
You close the door and take a huge sigh of relief. This feeling has taken almost sixty percentage, if not more of your brain. You could barely maintain myself out in the hallway. You suddenly felt a little queasy as you ran inside a stall and threw up your lunch in the toilet. You pushed down the shiny metallic handle on the toilet and it flushes the vomit away. You got scarred the moment you felt yourself do that. You've never expected that to happen. You didn't know that being sad could do that to you. Maybe this was more than just sadness you was feeling. You already feel like shit right now after reading that fanfic and this wasn't helping in any way. You walked over to the sink and splashed some water on your face to wipe any excess vomit on your face and to cool yourself off. You then looked in the mirror and felt worse. You looked worse than a homeless guy who hasn't showered in god knows how long.
"I can't tell my friends this. They will worry like crazy." you said to yourself. It was true. Starlight and the other really did care about you when ever you had a problem but if you told them anything negative, you'd feel that they'd be more depressed than you would. You know how depression tends to be slightly contagious. This was gonna be a real challenge. If you couldn't handle yourself out in the hallway, there's no telling what could happen in the lunchroom tomorrow.

You had just seen Anon leave the bathroom with his eyes still puffy and red, but less than they were before. It made you wonder what it was that made him so sad. You've never seen that out of him. After you made sure he left, you walked in and caught a smell of peanut butter & jelly, pear, and a chocolate bar all mashed up together. It smelled pretty terrible and you hold your nose.
"Oh dear merciful god! " you said in disgust. You let go of your nose still cringing from the utter disgusting smell. You followed the scent to a certain stall that had some green puke all over it. You cover your nose again in disgust.
"Oh my god! That is so gross! What the hell happened here?" You yell turning my head away. You quickly sprint out of the bathroom and ran into TreeHugger.
"Yo Flash, what's up dude?" he asked raising his hand for a high five. No matter what condition you're in, you're always down to high five a friend so you raise your hand too and you both slap each other's hand at the same time. You weren't sure if it was really Anon that had made that mess of barf in the bathroom but you were unsure what to do so you decided to tell TreeHugger.
"Not well TreeHugger. I think Anon may have thrown up in the bathroom. I wasn't entirely sure if it was really him or not, but I think it might have been since nobody else was in the bathroom and he was walking out feeling sad about something. It actually kind of worries me." you said frowning even more. TreeHugger places a hand on your shoulder.
"Honestly dude, I don't really know what to do in that situation but, if I were to make a suggestion, maybe try talking to him. If you want to know the truth, you got to at least try to ask him." TreeHugger said. You knew exactly what he meant. If Anon really was upset about something you would do anything you could to help him. He was friends with the whole school for god's sake, what could he possibly have to be so upset about? Plus he also helped you get over Twilight after the friendship games.

"What's wrong Flash?" he asked.
"I miss Twilight Anon. She was gonna be my girlfriend." you sob. Anon approaches you and sat down next to you.
"The girl from the other dimension huh?" he asks. You nod and took another bite out of your grilled cheese.
"Let me tell you a story Flash. There was once a guy, who loved a girl very very much, and she loved him as much and she loved her. They would always walk around in parks together and hold hands and sometimes kiss. They enjoyed each other's company so much. Their familes were familiar with each other and were on board with the two bein a couple. One day, some drunk idiot during the night was driving around while the two were crossing the street holding hands together. The guy noticed him coming and pushed his loved one out of the way. Sadly, he got pushed hard by the car and the drivier crashed it into a tree. The driver survived but the boy didn't. The girl was heartbroken and was pretty mad at the driver. She thought about not dating anyone anymore after that because she felt that there was no one else in the world that could replace her fiance. Then, she stumbles upon another guy that was as kind and caring as her boyfriend was. She started off as friends and soon grew fond of him. Eventually, they both confessed and started dating and the girl never felt depressed and isolated again. Point is Flash, is that you got to find yourself another girl, one that you will love till the end of time."
"I don't know Anon. What if there isn't another girl out there like Twilight?" you ask.
"Well you're never gonna know unless you try." Anon said standing up. He lets down his hand and pulls you up.
"If you give other girls a chance. There's bound to be one that's like Twilight. Just think it over Flash." Anon adds before walking back into the cafeteria. You were honestly lost in thought right now as you were unsure of what to do. Maybe Anon was right. If she doesn't come back, you can't just sit here and cry like a little bitch, now can you? You decided to continue eating and think about it later.

"Hey Flash," he said sadly.
"Dude, are you okay? You were crying in the hallway and then walked into the bathroom and I think you puked in there."
"Wait you saw that?"
"Dude, you were in the middle of the hallway on your knees. It wasn't very hard to notice."
"But I thought no one was there,"
"You forgot to look behind you. But seriously, are you really okay dude? It's not like you to be like this."
"Well um--" Anon was cut off by the sound of the last bell ringing. He quickly got up and ran down the hallway like a cheetah. You tried to run after him but he had already disappeared through the depths of the crowd. It was obvious that something was up with Anon. He would never be so upset like that before nor would he throw up, it's very rare that you saw Anon upset, much like anyone else.
As you walked out the front doors of the school, you thought about whether you should get involved or not. On one hand it was none of your business, but on the other hand, Anon was clearly upset about something, and it also might have disgusted him because of how he was throwing up. Maybe it was because he saw porn for the first time? Nah, that can't be it. You shouldn't make assumptions. They are inaccurate 95% of the time. You continued to walk down the sidewalk to your house when you realized something.
'If I can't get involved then, I know somebody who can.' you thought as you pulled out your phone from your pocket. You scrolled through your contacts and called her.
"Come on. Come on. Pick up the phone." you grunt with extreme tension. After several seconds of ringing, you heard her pick up.
"Hey Flash," she said.
"Hey, Sunset. I need to talk to you about something."
"Okay, what is it?"
"It's about someone," you said. I heard Sunset sigh on the other end.
"Listen Flash, I know you miss her, but there's not much I can really do to help you. She's gonna spend most of her time in Equestria." Sunset said.
"I'm talking about Anon." you said in a confused tone.
"Oh, sorry. Is there something wrong?" she asks. You rub the back of your head.
"Well yeah. Earlier today, I saw him walk out of the library with tears in his eyes, and then he fell to his knees and started to cry. Then he ran into the bathroom and I think vomited in a stall because I smelled it when I walked in. I tried to ask if he was okay but the bell had interrupted our conversation and he fled. Do you think you could try talking to him?" you ask. There was a long pause.
"Sunset?"
"Yeah. I"ll talk to him. Thanks for letting me know Flash."
"You're welcome. Alright. Bye."
"Bye Flash," she said before you ended the call. You walked further down a few more steps until you reached your house. You pulled out your key from your book bag and walked onto the porch and unlocked the door. You felt pretty bad that Anon was upset. He has a really good life, everyone loves him, his grades are pretty good, and he has a happy family. So it really troubles you to see how he could be so upset about something. You walk upstairs into your bedroom and set your bag down on the floor. You walked over to your bed and flop down on your mattress. You hoped that Sunset can try and help with whatever Anon is going through. You decided to try and let it go as you go to start working on my homework. You wished that there was something you could do to help him though. Well, maybe telling one of his closest friends, might be the only help you were eligible enough to give him.
Chapter 3: Sunset Shimmer

After Flash had called you and told you his news about Anon, you felt really bad. Anon was a very sweet guy and was always happy for most of the time that You've known him. He was a very fortunate guy who was making a decent amount of money, has a really good reputation at Canterlot High, had a very loving family, and had a very caring personality, so when Flash broke the news to you about him crying, it almost made you sob from it.
Anon was one of the friends you were really close too and it never occurred to you that Anon would feel sad. The words 'Anon' and 'sad' have never been used in the same sentence from what you heard until now. You wondered how he could feel so awful about something. You stared down at your purple pajama bottoms and wondered if you should call him.
"Maybe he's asleep." you say to yourself.
"But I have to at least try." You grabbed your phone off of the side table next to your bed and tapped on Anon's contact. Within a few seconds he picked up. You heard him sobbing on the other side which sounded really bad.
"H-Hello?" he sniffles.
"Hey Anon. It's me Sunset."
"Oh hey Sunny. What's up?"
"Anon don't pretend that you're okay. If there is something that is making you upset, I need to know. I won't judge you for anything." you said with a worried tone. You hear him let out a sigh.
"I'm assuming Flash told you what he witnessed."
"Yeah, he said that you were crying on your knees in the middle of the hallway and then ran into the bathroom to throw up. Is that true?" you ask. There was a long pause. You waited until Anon responded but instead the call had dropped.
"Wow. That's weird. Flash is right. There really is something up with him. I'll find out tomorrow." you said to yourself as you placed your phone back on the night stand and wrapped the blanket around you.
(Tommorow)
You pick up your lunch tray and go to your table. Only to find that everyone was there, except for him. You look around and saw him sitting alone by himself eating lunch. You felt a little angry because of him neglecting us but yet still sad.
"Hold on girls." you say as you place you lunch tray down where you claimed your seat. You walked over to the very back of the lunchroom that barely anybody sits at. He was crying still. You slammed your hands down in front of him making Anon jump a bit.
"Okay Anon, tell me the truth. You dropped the call last night. Something is very wrong and I need to know." you say agitated. He was frozen in place still chocked up from all the tears he was shedding.
"I can't." You give him a glare in frustration.
"Why not?"
"Because I don't want anybody to worry about me. Yes I did do what Flash told you yesterday but I didn't want you or the other girls to worry, so I dropped the call and decided to sit here by myself so that I could cry without anybody worrying. I don't want you to worry about it Sunset. I would rather cry about it, than have you girls worry about it."he explains. You start to feel yourself cry and hug Anon tightly.
"Anon, you made me worry even more when you dropped the call last night. I need to know what's going on. You know what?" You pause as you got an idea. You remembered that you had your psychic powers that you got from camp 3 years ago and thought that maybe you could use on Anon. You placed your hand on his arm and you started to see his memories. After looking through them, you then saw why he was so upset. He read the fanfic, the one that you knew would break his heart. You knew how much he loved Starlight because you always teased him about it. This gave you a guilty feeling. You let go of his hand and give him a horrified look.
"You...read it?"
"Wait...what? Did you write it?" You shook your head.
"No but I read it before. I should have warned you not to read it. I never said anything about it because I didn't want to put the idea of reading it into your head. I know exactly how much Starlight means to you Anon and that must have really hurt you. Listen, I want you to come meet up with me at Sugarcube Corner. We can talk this out later, Okay?" you ask. Anon nods.
"Sure, and I promise I won't leave you hanging again. I'm sorry for doing it in the first place." he said. You give him another hug.
"That's alright Anon. I forgive you. I'll see you later." you said before walking back to your table.
"Bye Sunset." he said as he went back to eating. You walk over to where your lunch tray was sitting untouched. When you got back your friends gave you worried looks.
"Is he going to be okay Sunset?" Fluttershy asks. You let out a sigh.
"I hope so Fluttershy."
"Did he tell you why he was upset?" Rainbow Dash asked you. You pause for a minute staring down at your food with a sad look.
"Girls, he...he read the fanfic." you said. They all gasp in horror except for Starlight.
"A-Actually?" Applejack asked. You nod.
"Oh dear. No wonder he's so upset." Rarity says.
"That must have hit him bad." Rainbow Dash adds.
"Um...girls, I hate to interrupt but what fanfic are you all talking about?" Starlight asks. We couldn't tell Starlight it because she would be horrified, maybe even traumatized. We all nod to each other and do our best to lie.
"Um...nothing important." you say. Starlight was slightly suspicious as you started to sweat.
"Are you sure?"she asks. You nod your head quickly before you all go back to eating. Starlight was still suspicious but was very convinced with what you had told her.
(Later)
You waited for Anon at Sugarcube Corner tapping your foot when he finally shows up.
"Did I keep you waiting?"he asks. You shook your head as you both walk in together. Anon holds the door for you, much like how he does to everyone.
"Thank you kind sir." you say playfully.
"You are welcome ma'am." he says teasingly bowing his head. Anon had a childish sense of humor but that was one of the things you liked about him as a friend. You both sit down together at a table and you decide to start off the conversation.
"So let's get straight to the point Anon. What part of the fanfic made you really upset?" Anon looks around the store, clearly thinking about what it was that could have caused it.
"Well, I only finished one third of it so I guess when it was that I heard her name and death in the same sentence. It just tears me up just thinking about it." he said starting to cry again. You quickly rush over to the counter and grab the box of tissue and hand them to him.
"Thank you." he sniffles.
"You're welcome. Continue on Anon."
"Starlight *sniff* is a very close friend to me and just the very thought of her death just hurts me. In fact it hurt me so much that it was the reason why I threw up before. It was tragic, devastating, heartbreaking, the lists of adjectives goes on Sunset. It was enough to make me believe it. I couldn't handle seeing that. Every time I hear her name, my heart used to race, but now it hurts every time I hear it because of the very thought of seeing her die."he explained.
“It’s been hard to deal with this emotion. I can’t sleep, I can’t eat and I threw up a lot last night right after I ended our call.”he added sniffling. You cup his cheek and your hand and rub it up and down.
“It’s okay Anon. Maybe we could help you get your mind off of this. I’ll discuss this with the others. I won’t tell Starlight though okay?” you ask. He nods.
“Thank you Sunset. I’m glad that you care.”
“Of course I’d care Anon. You never deserve this and I’m determined to make sure that you won’t feel it anymore.” Anon quietly sniffles and gets out of his chair. He slowly walks over to you and gives you a hug sobbing with joy.
“Thank you. Thank you so much Sunset!”he says crying with tears of joy. You smile and hug him back.
“You’re welcome Anon.” You tighten the hug making Anon feel protected in your arms.
“By the way Sunset, I never told you fully why I dropped the call.”
“Oh. Do you want to tell me now?” He nods and sits back down in his chair.
“The reason why I dropped the call was because I didn’t want to worry you which I had mentioned earlier today. I really care about you girls. Especially Starlight. I don’t want something like a negative feeling to make you girls worry. I always told myself if I would rather keep my friends happy or be upfront and make them worry. I always chose the first one because the only thing that could make me feel the worst is seeing my friends depressed. I would jump off a bridge or sell my soul to the devil just to keep everyone else happy. ”he says in a very serious tone. You placed a hand over your heart and gasp.
“Anon...that’s...that’s really sweet of you to look out for us but as a friend, it’s my job to help you out whenever you feel blue.” You said.
“Sunset, I don’t think you understand where I’m coming from. Making a friend worry is basically stressing them out. I heard once that if you’re stressed about something, you could die much quicker.” he says.
“Yes but think about yourself Anon. If you’re stressed you’re gonna die quicker and we’ll be the ones depressed.” you said. Anon thinks for a moment not knowing how to respond. You decide to continue.
“If you died right now it would put us all in distress. Us, the whole school, and your family all care about you Anon. It would devastate us if you were gone. I would have lost a best friend along with the whole school. Anon, we all really care for you. People at school are much happier because of you. We don't want you gone." You start to sob. Anon now gives you another hug.
"Don't worry Sunset. I promise I won't." he said. You give him a hug back before breaking it.
“Good. Is there anything else that’s bothering you?” You ask. He shakes his head.
“No that was all. At least for now.”he says wiping his tears away. You smile and give him another hug.
“You should go relax at home. It might help get this off your chest.” you said. He nods.
“Okay. Thanks again for talking about this with me. I don’t know a lot of people that would do that.”he said.
“It’s no problem Anon. Now go home and get some rest.” you said. He nods again and leaves Sugarcube Corner as You watch him walk away through the window. You start walking out yourself hoping he will be okay.
If you're really honest with yourself though, you were actually very worried about him. You still felt that he didn't tell you everything. You felt a shiver up your spine as you thought about where Anon could be headed if this keeps up. You couldn’t stand to think about this happen so you called up your friends.
“How is he Sunset?” Starlight asked in a worried tone.
“Is he okay?” Twilight asked in the same tone. You sigh not really knowing what to tell them.
“Well, he seemed okay for the most part but it’s not very often that I see him upset. According to what I have been told today, Anon tried to hide his negative feelings from us so that he won’t make us worry.” You said.
“Oh my that’s terrible! But...he did it for us?” Fluttershy asked.
“Yeah he held his negative thoughts in his head because he hated making people worry about him. I tried to convince him not to do that but I'm not sure if he's willing to be more upfront with us."you say.
"Ugh! This never would have happened if it wasn't for that stupid fanfic! Anon would still be that happy guy we all know and love!" yelled Rainbow Dash.
"It's not like we could do anything to stop it sugarcube. We were all busy with our classes. It's not like one of us were there to stop him." Applejack said reassuringly.
"Girls, please, I need to know what fanfic you're talking about. You're not fooling me. I need to know the truth." Starlight says calmly. You let out a sigh knowing there's no way to tell stop her.
"I promised Anon I wouldn't tell you Starlight but what happened was yesterday, Anon was reading a fanfic about you that was really depressing and it hurt him so much. He really cares about you and that fanfic just...hurt him." you say. Starlight gasps but then takes a deep breath.
"I read the fanfic too. Way before he did. This had struck him badly. I'm worried that he might kill himself. He never mentioned it but I'm afraid of it happening." you say. Starlight let out a few sniffles over the phone.
"I...I see. Well, is there something we can do to prevent that?" she asks.
"Well, after I met up with him at Sugarcube Corner, he seemed to feel a little better. So I think all of us should spend some time with him individually, so that he might feel better." you suggest.
"Alright I'll go first then. I'll have Anon meet up with me tomorrow." Rainbow Dash says through the phone. You let out a yawn as you walked into your house.
"Yeah, okay then Rainbow. Just do what you can to cheer him up. We'll continue this tomorrow." you say.
"Okay, good night girls." Rainbow Dash said as she hung up.
"Goodnight." you all said in sync. You walk upstairs and get changed into your purple pajamas. You then trot on to your bed and place your phone back on the night stand. You hope that your plan works because the last thing you wanted, was to lose the most popular kid at Canterlot High because of a story he read online.

You had volunteered to help Anon first. Why? Because you had the perfect idea in mind, exercise. You knew Anon wasn't exactly the athletic type but that never stopped you from trying to get him up and running every once in a while. He wasn't persistent much with moving his body a few times but you sometimes worry that if you didn't get him moving, that he would be a lazy couch potato that could give him a high risk of diabetes. Wow, you sound like an egghead. Maybe sitting around Twilight so much has rubbed on to you.
You walk past a few houses while staring down at the sidewalk hoping that your friend is a little better than before. You walk up to Anon's front door and ring the doorbell. You stick your cyan hands into your black athletic leggings pockets and wait for him to come. You start to hear footsteps and hear the creak of a doorknob turning as the door pulled itself back revealing the green guy himself. He looked like he had been crying for a while. You try and put on a fake smile and raise your hand a little.
"Hey Anon." you say. Anon wipes his tears and blows his nose with a tissue. He lets out a few more sniffles before responding to you.
"Hey Rainbow Dash. What's Up?"
"Not much. Just wanted to know if you wanted to take a stroll with me." you ask. Anon paused for a moment not sure if he wanted to do it or not. He then shook his head.
"Sorry Rainbow but I have a lot of homework to catch up on."he says as he closed the door with a sad look in his face. You knew perfectly well that was a lie. You had a few classes with Anon and there wasn't any homework that was assigned to the class. And the ones that you didn't have classes with him, you overheard from a few of his classmates that said that they didn't have homework either.
"Anon, we don't have any homework this weekend. Please you should come. I know you're not exactly in the best condition right now but I bet a walk might make you feel better."you say. You hear Anon let out a sigh through the door as he opens it again.
“I...I just can’t Rainbow. I’m sorry.” he says before slowly closing the door. Before he was able to close it you walk in and hug your friend tightly. You start to choke up in tears as you sob in his shoulder. Anon places one hand on your hair and strokes it. He places the other on your back and gives it a gentle rub.
“I-I’m scared Anon.”you admit. You never thought you would need or have to say that word ever in your life but from Anon acting like this, it’s just enough to give you a fright. Anon curious as he was asked you what you were afraid of but after taking one look at your face you see remorse in his eyes.
“Afraid of something happening to you Anon. You are a really close friend to me. I...I don’t want to lose you. You’re the most friendly and fortunate guy in the world. All of us are worried sick about you! We don’t want you to die!”you beg staining his shirt with your tears. It was very corny for you to say this but you would rather be corny than lose a close friend. Anon stayed silent for a moment. He breaks the hug and stares at you in silence. He lets out a sigh.
“I’m not going to die Rainbow Dash. I’m just feeling a little blue.”he says to you.
“Then please, let’s talk about it. I want you to feel better. We all do. This just isn’t you Anon. I won’t just sit here and let you suffer like this!”You say. Anon thinks for a moment and nods.
“Alright Dash, have a seat on the couch. I’ll go make us some tea.”he says.
‘At least he’s still got that generous part of him.’you thought. So far this was not going exactly how you planned it. This was worse than you thought. He’s diagnosed with depression. What the hell did that fanfic do to him? Anon soon comes back with a small cup of tea and places it on the stool in front of you. You ask what flavor it is.
“It’s mint. Your favorite.”he says with a smile. You smile and playfully punch him. Anon let’s out a few chuckles making you smile.
‘At least he laughed. That shows he’s still got some happiness left in him.’you thought.
“Listen Anon, I know that fanfic probably hurt you but if you don’t mind me asking what specifically was the reason that made you depressed?”you ask.
“Sunset may have told you already or you already know but the fanfic was about Starlight. Then it involved her in committing suicide. That struck me probably the most I’ve ever been before especially since I...you know love her.”
You scoot closer to him and pull him into a tight hug as if you were pulling him away from the edge of where you think he might want to go.
“Anon, you know that is not what she wants right? In fact she’s in her room with Twilight right now worrying about you. Listen I honestly don’t know how bad that fanfic had messed you up but killing yourself over a fantasy that isn’t going to even exist, that’s just really not good. I want to hear this fanfic for myself.”You say.
“It’s on my computer upstairs.”
“Okay. Wait...why is it there? We’re you...listening to the rest of it?”
“I was about to until you came.”
“WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?!! IF IT MADE YOU SAD ENOUGH FOR ONE THIRD OF IT WHY WOULD YOU READ THE REST?!!!”you yell at the top of your lungs.
Anon puts his hands up as tears slowly began to form in his eyes.
“I-I’m Sorry Dash but I couldn’t take it. My curiosity got the best of me.”
"AND YET YOU WOULD CHOOSE CURIOSITY OVER YOUR OWN MENTAL HEALTH?!!"
"Well, I like to finish a story by hearing the whole thing."
"Ugh! I'll talk to you about this later!"
You walk up the stairs as Anon puts his head back down and stares at his tea. You walk through the long corridor until you reach the end of it with a door that lead to his room. You slowly place your hand on the metallic gold surface and give it a 180 before pushing the door open. You see the reflection of light from his computer as you trot over to it and scroll up to find out the title. It read, "A Glimmer Of Remorse". Now you weren't really sure if the author of this fan-fiction was purposely trying to put people in a depressing life but if that were the case, you'd want to strangle whoever wrote this.
Hours pass and you finish reading the fan-fiction. You decide to do what you think is best for your friend, block off Fimfiction. Sure, he would probably get upset at you for doing that but if it did anything to keep him from putting an end to his awesome life, then you didn't care. Micro Chips had taught you once who to block websites because of a certain website that never stopped popping up and it just annoyed you. You place the cursor of the big red button that has plain white text reading, Block Website . You immediately click on it and close the laptop. You hoped that this was enough to stop Anon from dying. You walk back downstairs and see Anon staring at his empty cup of tea. He looks over at you standing there with a curious expression.
"So? How did it end?"
"I can't tell you that Anon. Whether it was happy or not, I'm not making you feel worse."
"Fine."
"Well, I better get going. It's getting late. I'll see you around Anon. I hope you get better soon."
"Goodbye Rainbow Dash." he says politely.
You smile warmly at him which he does the same before you close the door and start walking back to your house. As you were walking, you get a text message from your former friend, Sunset Shimmer.
So, how did it go? Is he getting better?
I'm hoping he is Sunset. I really hate seeing him like that
I know. I'll have Rarity visit him tomorrow.

You tuck your phone in your pocket as you open the door to your house. You quickly get changed out of your clothes and into your pajamas. You get yourself ready for bed as you tuck yourself in. You couldn't stop thinking about Anon and what could possibly happen to his life. You hope that at some point he gets better as you pull the covers over your body and drift off to sleep.
