Heroes of Beacon
Chapter 29: Act 1 Ends
Previous ChapterAs the sun began to fall below the horizon, Weiss was wearing a long light blue dress while Blake was wearing a similar dress of black as they were out on the town. Blake frowned “Why are we doing this?”
Weiss frowned “I forgot, you have exactly done this before.” She the smiled “We are going out on the town, looking at clothes and stuff. Getting something eat, things most people do our age.”
Blake raised an eyebrow “What about Sunset and Diane?”
Weiss giggled “I gave them a list so they are out doing the same. I’m sure they would like to wander around the city and do those things. Now come on let’s have some fun.” Blake dubiously followed her, Weiss smiled as they approached a clothing store.
A tall man pointed to Blake “We don’t admit their kind here!”
Blake turned around only to hear a cry of pain. She turned back to the shop only to see Weiss had kicked the man between the legs. Weiss gave Blake a hug before smiling “We’ll go somewhere else, come on.” Blake followed her, Weiss was behaving strangely. She would never imagine that the heir to the Schnee Dust Company would be so brutal.
Blake put a hand on Weiss’ shoulder, concern marring her features “This is not like you Weiss. Why did you attack him?”
Weiss growled “Because it’s not fair, why does the world have to be like this! Why do they have treat you differently because you have cat ears!”
Blake frowned “Arrogance, greed and fear.” She then smiled “Your friendship is enough, you took the time to overcome the fear and you have more reason to fear us than most. Don’t worry about what others think about me.”
Weiss smiled “Well there is a nice restaurant that specialises in fish and allows Faunus in it. I was hoping to go there for lunch, want to come.” Blake’s glistening eyes were all Weiss needed to know, Weiss giggled as she walked in the direction the shop.
Blake followed with a smile on her face, the pair soon arrived at the restaurant. It was incredibly high end restaurant, a huge golden sign that read ‘Song of the Sea’ and yet it was devoid of customers. The Maître D' was a tall yellow rabbit Faunus in a purple business suit with purple eyes. He smiled “Madam Schnee, Madam Belladonna welcome to Song of the Sea. Allow me to guide you to a seat.”
Blake looked at the fancy blue walls with intricate engravings of fish. They sat on plush red seats at a table for two, the fancy mahogany table was covered in the finest silk tablecloth. The Maître D' placed down two menus “I will await your decisions.”
Weiss picked up her menu as did Blake, Blake looked over the menu before her eyes tear up slightly. She smiled at the Maître D' “I would like to have the Red Wine Braised Tuna with Salmon Cakes.
Weiss made her decision and turned to the Maître D' “I’d like to have the Sauted Crab with a side of Mussels.”
The Maître D' bowed “You will be served shortly.”
Blake smiled “You are very good at your job, may I ask your name?”
The Maître D' smiled back “William, Madam Belladonna. Now I will return with your orders, wait a bit.”
As he left Blake frowned “Weiss, at this time of night a place like this should be full of guests.”
Weiss giggled “Well yes but I figured that having so many people here would make you uncomfortable so I booked the whole place out for the night. Blake’s jaw dropped, this was high end. The cost must have been astronomical. Weiss smiled “I don’t spend that much normally, I have been saving up for years and this was well worth it in my eyes.”
Blake was about to respond when she saw movements, someone was outside. Before she could get up William returned and pulled all the curtains shut “Relax and enjoy yourselves. I’ll handle whatever is outside.”
As William left the building, Blake took a deep breath “Is this supposed to be a date? It is quite a romantic setting for friends to go out for a meal in?”
Weiss smiled “I suppose it is but I want to get to know you better, you barely talk about your past. I want to know you better.”
Blake frowned “Well I have been part of the White Fang since I was old enough to be. I participated in protests for our rights and all was fine until even if not much changed. Until one highly ambitious Faunus, Sienna Khan took over saying that we weren’t doing enough.”
Weiss looked down “I’m sorry if it’s too painful.”
Blake shook her head “I need to tell someone everything. I continued being part of the group, I learnt how to fight and soon I was partnered up with Adam Taurus, we fought many battles together but I quickly discovered that he was incredibly violent. I held a torch for him once but that dimmed as he killed more and more.”
Weiss frowned “What happened?”
Blake growled “He killed a child in their crib, I tried to stop him but I wasn’t strong enough. Eventually I left the White Fang because I couldn’t handle the killing.”
Meanwhile outside of the building William was surrounded by the White Fang all carrying weapons. At the front of the group was a female Bengal Tiger Faunus, she had a dark complexion and a second pair of tiger like ears. William bowed “It’s an honour to meet Sienna Khan, Leader of the White Fang. What brings you and your men to Song of the Sea.”
Sienna Khan crossed her arms “Don’t play games with me, waiter! I have business in there and you are in my way.”
William smirked “It’s been a while since I’ve killed someone, I have put my past behind me but it seems I need to bring it out for this occasion.” He pulled out a blood red knife, a four ghostly burnt figures materialised around him. One a chicken, one a bear, one a fox and the final one a bunny.
Sienna actually began to shake “You’re him, William the Phantom Killer. You have blood of thousands on your hand.”
William frowned “I owe Ghira a lot, he manged to get me a clean slate with help from General Ironwood.”
Sienna snarled “Kill him, bring me his head!” Thousands of White Fang members rushed at him, Sienna watched in horror as they exploded as William stood there seemingly unmoving. The Phantoms beside him vanished, he sighed “Did you really think you could stop me with that paltry attempt?”
His form shimmered as he moved, before she could say a word he was already in front of her. He looked down with sorrow in his eyes as he saw her face “You remind me so much of your sister, I have cleaned up my act but those faces still haunt me. I am telling you to turn back from this path before you become a monster.” William walked back into the building as Sienna retreated from the area having made sure that the guests had a good night.
