Tummy Tussle
Belly Bonding (Round 1)

While some ponies in Equestria say that some things are more beautiful than others, Cup Cake’s opinion stands that nothing can compare, let alone come close, to the beauty of a foal’s innocence. Her own foals, Pound Cake and Pumpkin Cake, were no exception. As much of a hoof-ful the twins were Cup Cake couldn’t deny that even the worst days she and her husband, Carrot Cake, had to endure during parenthood, it was always something to laugh about in the end.
Cup Cake even got some amusement when she would be talking with a friend, and the twins would be watching them with mild confusion; unable to understand the talk of grownups. The carefree, curious expressions on her children’s faces always gave Cup Cake a reason to smile.
Even now Cup Cake was able to feel comfort and joy at her foals’ innocent and curious nature when her daughter, Pumpkin Cake, was marveling at her rotund midsection. Well, Cup Cake would feel some comfort, had the aforementioned midsection not shifted suddenly in response to Pumpkin Cake’s persistent prodding.
“Poke!”
Tap
“Poke poke!”
Tap tap
“Poke… poke… poke!
Tap tap tap
“Pokey pokey-boop!”
Tappy tappy-BOOM
Cup Cake’s hooves flew to her belly after that last kick. “OH! Be careful in there you two! You’re treating Mommy’s insides like a punching bag!” All her unborn foals’ response was a less rough jab to her navel, which managed to boop Pumpkin Cake on the nose.
Pumpkin Cake giggled in absolute delight and placed her hooves on her mother’s tummy again. “Babehs wike meh!”
Cup Cake chuckled and patted her daughter on the head. “Yes, dearie. Your new baby brother and sister are quite fond of you and Pound.”
A new voice spoke up from the easy chair next to the one Cup Cake was sitting in, “My bun-buns love them too!” The voice belonged to Pinkie Pie, whose own bloated belly was being worshipped by a highly engrossed Pound Cake. “Every time Pumpkin or Pound come close to my little oven my bun-buns will begin to move like there’s no tomorrow which is silly because there has to be a tomorrow in order for my bun-buns to be one day closer to being done baking! Then again, it’s not our decision if there’s gonna be no tomorrow or not; Princess Celestia wouldn’t allow it or perhaps she would if some pony were to ask her nicely. I wouldn’t ask her because that would turn all of Equestria into the biggest oven ever! Maybe that’s why my bun-buns move so much because they would like to ask Princess Celestia if there could be no tomorrow so they can be in Mama Pinkie’s little oven for as long as they want but that’s even sillier since my bun-buns can’t even talk yet and as much as I love the feeling of them baking inside me I know my bun-buns can’t stay in there forever.” Pinkie Pie paused for a moment to take a breath and then scratched her chin in wonder.
Pinkie Pie looked down at her “little oven” and began to rub it along with Pound Cake. “What if they could talk? What if foals suddenly gained the ability to talk before they’re born? That way we could get to know about them long before we first meet them! Think about it, we can ask them what name they would like, what they want for their first birthday, what friends they would like to meet, tell them what the world outside our tummies will be like, what their daddies are like, and tons and tons more! What do you think, Mrs. Cake? Would you like it if our bun-buns suddenly began to talk from within our little ovens?”
Cup Cake could barely keep up with Pinkie Pie’s rambling. She shook her head and regarded her last question with logic. It would be interesting to hear your foal’s first words from within the womb, but it just wouldn’t be natural. Only by some complex magic spell would fetal speech be achieved. Still, Mrs. Cake didn’t want to disappoint Pinkie Pie by disagreeing with her, so she played it safe.
“I think it would be interesting for some ponies Pinkie dearie but perhaps it is better that it didn’t happen to us.”
“I don’t know, I think I’d like to be able to speak to my bun-buns while they’re still baking. But I suppose there is something special about their first word being outside the womb.”
“Indeed dearie.”
Cup Cake went back to watching her soon-to-be older daughter feel her tummy before Pinkie Pie spoke up again. “What about what I said before, about my bun-buns staying in my little oven? Wonder what it would be like to remain pregnant forever? Keeping your little bundles of joy safe inside you for as long as possible? Now that I think about it, maybe I should ask Twilight if it’s possible for her to cast a spell on me so I can bake my bun-buns in my little oven indefinitely.”
For some reason Cup Cake shuddered at the thought of a permanently pregnant Pinkie Pie. Thankfully she was spared anymore of Pinkie’s fearsome fantasies when Pound Cake yelped and fell back onto his rear. Pinkie’s belly had bulged out and knocked into Pound Cake before settling back down.
“Whoa,” Pinkie Pie shouted! “That was a big one. My bun-buns must really want to meet you and your sister, Pound.” But Pinkie’s “bun-buns” wern’t done yet; instead of settling down like Pinkie had hoped they began to wriggle and thrash about like crazy. Pinkie’s belly looked like something was desperately trying to force its way out. Bumps rippled across the surface of the belly like waves in the ocean as the foals continued their struggle for space. All the while Pinkie Pie was utterly enthralled by her bun-buns’ frantic movement.
Cup Cake put a hoof to her lips in order to stifle a giggle at the comedic display. However, behind that amusement was some slight pity for the pink mare. Her own foals’ movement were relatively mellow when compared to Pinkies’. Her insides must be suffering dreadfully thanks to her restless prodigy. It also made Cup Cake think, considering how energetic they are now, how Pinkie Pie and Cheese Sandwich were going to handle them after they were born.
Cup Cake then turned her head towards the clock on the wall and saw the time. “Oh, nine o-clock! Time for our little “belly bonders” to go to bed.”
The twins were less than enthusiastic about ceasing their belly bonding in favor of sleeping. “Awww. Mommy, do we hafte to?!”
Luckily, Pinkie Pie backed Cup Cake up. “Sorry you two, but you have to sleep in order for you to be ready for a new day tomorrow.”
“But we want to feew ow cousins and sibwings more!”
“And there will be time for that after Mommy and Pinkie get off work tomorrow,” Cup Cake replied. “Now come on, up you go.” Before Cup Cake attempted to lift herself up Pinkie Pie was already on her hooves with Pound Cake on her back.
“You keep resting here Mrs. Cake, I’ll take these little bundles of belly lovers upstairs.”
“Oh Pinkie Pie I couldn’t ask you to do that. You know I managed to climb those stairs while I was pregnant with Pound and Pumpkin.”
“I know you did. But we worked extra hard today to keep up with business until our hubbies came back from delivering that massive order and I can see you’re still exhausted from it. I can handle the workload for this task.”
“Thank you, Pinkie dearie.”
Pinkie Pie then scooped up Pumpkin Cake and trotted slowly up the stairs, leaving Cup Cake to enjoy the fire that had been burning in the fireplace the whole time. Now it was very quiet. Nothing but the sound of crackling fire filled the room. It was so soothing that Cup Cake felt her eyelids grow heavy. She didn’t even try to fight to keep them open and happily embraced the sensation of sweet slumber.
