Cravings (Second Serving)

Cup Cake didn’t know how long she had been walking, or where she even was for that matter. Everywhere she looked there was endless plains and swaying grass. Despite the peaceful and calm scenery Cup Cake felt anything but. Her stomach growled loudly like an angry Timberwolf.

She was hungry!

All Cup Cake could remember was walking in these grasslands searching for food. But why would she be searching in a place like this? However she discarded those questions in favor of focusing in the land around her. Cup Cake had no idea how, but somehow she knew there was food hiding in the tall grass, waiting for her.

Time past and Cup Cake grew more desperate as her stomach growled louder. How was there any food out here? She clearly hadn’t found it and yet she had this nagging, persistent feeling that food was somewhere in these fields.

After what felt like hours Cup Cake’s legs grew tired. She groaned in defeat, flopped down onto her back, and closed her eyes.

Cup Cake remained where she was while her legs rested. She began to think she was on a wild goose chase. Maybe this was another one of Pinkie Pie’s pranks to mess with her. If it’s turned out that way, Cup Cake swore to suspend Pinkie Pie from Sugar Cube Corner for a whole month.

Soon, Cup Cake felt her legs regain the strength to keep moving and was about to get up. Suddenly, she felt something soft land on her stomach. Cup Cake opened her eyes and looked down. There, resting on top of her tummy, was a small pumpkin cake. Creamy white icing, suger pumpkins on top, and a single slice missing to reveal the dark orange interior.

Cup Cake’s mouth began to water. She was practically drooling a waterfall when she grabbed the pastry with both hooves, turned it around, and held it in front of her face. On the opposite side of the Cake was a face made out of yellow frosting, baby blue gumdrops for eyes, mane made out of orange icing, and a hard candy shaped like a blue bow tied in the mane.

Cup Cake licked her lips and opened her mouth wide, wider than physically possible for a pony’s mouth. She shoved the cake in her mouth headfirst. She dragged her tongue over the candy face on the front and gently swallowed. The top half was now at the back of her mouth brushing past the uvula. Cup Cake swallowed again and soon the bottom half was past her teeth. The remainder of the cake slid over Cup Cake’s gums, look out stomach here the pumpkin cake comes!

With one last audible *GULP* the pumpkin cake made its way down Cup Cake’s throat, wriggling and moving all the way.

Wait a minute...

Pumpkin cakes couldn’t move or wriggle. Was something alive trapped within it? Did she just eat some pony alive?!

Before Cup Cake could panic about eating some living creature whole she felt said creature drop into her stomach. She could feel it look around, stand up, and move about. It started to prod and poke the area towards her hips, almost like it was looking for something.

Cup Cake was about to ponder about what the creature could possibly hope to look for in her stomach until said organ started to growl again. Just like that, all thoughts of eating a living being and getting in severe trouble for it was washed away with the thought of finding more food to eat.

How was she still hungry? Didn’t she eat a whole cake with another creature trapped inside it just now? Doesn’t matter for now! Must find more food!

Cup Cake picked herself up and started moving. The creature inside her didn’t seem to acknowledge that it’s predator was on the move. In fact, Cup Cake’s unintentional prey didn’t seem to be moving at all. She could still feel it sitting close to her hips, nudging the wall and oblivious to the fact that it was even eaten in the first place.

What really didn’t make sense was that the gravity in Cup Cake’s stomach seemed to be on the fritz. The prey was in the position it was before Cup Cake stood right side up. The inside of her stomach didn’t even feel upside down anyway!

Cup Cake shook her head and focused on finding more food in these endless plains. Once her appetite was satisfied she would figure out how to get the creature out of her before they digested, and also find out what the buck was up with her stomach’s gravity!

Pound Cake was close to shock. He had just witnessed his own mother devour his own sister right before his eyes. He shouldn’t have let her go up there alone! What kind of brother was he? Pound Cake was about to bawl when he heard his sister giggling.

She’s OK!

Pound Cake spread his wings and flew to his Mommy’s front, gazing into her open mouth to see if Pumpkin Cake was still in there. All he saw was darkness. Pound Cake heard Pumpkin Cake giggle again, this time from behind him, and turned to see his Mommy’s tummy bulge out bit.

The perfect curve of Mommy’s tummy had distended outwards, creating an even rounder and heavier mountain of blue belly. Pound Cake remained still, fluttering next to his Mommy’s head, looking at the area where the new addition to her Mommy’s tummy was currently wriggling.

After a few moments of staring dumbfounded, Pound Cake decided to make sure his sister was really OK. He flew closer to his Mommy’s tummy, narrowly missing being caught by her left hoof while he wasn’t watching...

Pound Cake lowered himself down onto his Mommy’s chest and placed his ear on the smaller bulge sticking out of his Mommy’s tummy and listened. He could clearly hear Pumpkin Cake’s giggles within, along with his Mommy’s heartbeat and other internal noises.

“Sistah, awe you in dere,” Pound Cake asked the bulge?

The bulge shifted a bit before Pound Cake heard his sister reply, “Yes, bwoda, I’m in hewe. Itsh wawm and swippery in hewe. I’m wooking for our new sibwings but it’sh dawk in hewe!”

Pound Cake gave a sigh of relief that he didn’t know he was holding. He was happy his sister was alright but was worried for how long. Normally when he saw his Mommy or Aunt Pinkie eat something it was never seen again. Pound hoped there was a way to get his sister out until the same thing happened to her.

“Sistah, we have to get yew out of dere! I don’t wike dis idea anymowe. It’sh getting too dangewous!”

“But bwoda, I need to find our new sibwings and get ‘dem out! It’sh de onwy way to get Mommy da west she needs.”

“Den how awe we gonna get you out?”

From within her Mommy’s tummy, Pumpkin Cake was about to answer her brother’s question, but paused. How was she planning to get out?

“I... I... don’ tink I thought dis one thwough.”

Pumpkin heard her brother groan from outside. She then sat down at the far end of her Mommy’s stomach and prodded at the fleshy wall, trying to feel for a way out. After she felt a faint shift in motion under her hoof she thought it was another wall separating her and her new siblings.

Pumpkin Cake nearly screamed in anger. She had made it this far only to be stopped by another wall! To add to that, she realized she didn’t think about how she was to get out once she had convinced her new siblings to come out first. Even if her brother couldn’t see her, Pumpkin Cake felt very embarrassed. She was never going to live this down.

Pumpkin Cake then thought about what Pound said before, about her idea becoming too dangerous. Now that she really thought about it, she should have seen this coming. Whenever she, her Mommy, her Daddy, her brother, or any pony else eat anything, she noticed that it was never seen or heard from again.

Pumpkin Cake then realized that she has been through this thought process before. She assumed that any food that is eaten turns into the squishy, stinky brown stuff that comes out their bottoms and into her and her brothers’ diapers.

Another thought from before struck Pumpkin Cake that she should have remembered: where did the foals even come from in the first place? Her Mommy surely didn’t eat them; she or some pony else would have noticed. All she managed to figure out was that new foals were supposed to grow inside of their mommies’ tummies until they were big enough to come out. That’s where the ultimate mystery hit Pumpkin Cake that she really should have thought of before.

How did new foals even come out of their mommies’ tummies?

Pumpkin Cake now felt even more humiliated. With that tidbit of information she would have thought of a better way to carry out her mission. Not only had she failed to help her Mommy, but now she was beginning to fear about getting turned into the brown filth that food turns into when they’ve been eaten.

Pumpkin Cake was about to cry over her impending doom when she heard a noise from outside. She wiped away some stray tears and walked over to the fleshy wall. She leaned in and pointed her small ears forward to hear what might be happening.

There was a sound of slight struggling and barely audible whimpers of fear with an even quieter sound of slurping. Suddenly there was a loud *GULP* that started Pumpkin Cake. She fell down on her bottom and looked around in the darkness. There was the sound of grunting and something slithering through a tight space.

Through the darkness Pumpkin Cake was able to make out what looked to be a small, closed hole. The sound was getting closer to the hole and it was then that Pumpkin realized it must have been the hole that she came from when she fell into her Mommy’s stomach. The hole began to bulge out and open, the sound becoming quite clear to Pumpkin Cake.

From the hole emerged what Pumpkin Cake was hoping she wouldn’t see: Pound Cake.
