A possessed Spike is now transmitting information to the collector. Twilight and Starlight take notice.

Transmission

Deep in space, the collector is learning more about magic by the minute thanks to the creature that possessed Spike. Each book Spike read made Equestria more interesting to add to his collection. The books have all sorts of spells, charms, rituals, and history. By tapping in the memories of Spike, the collector of worlds watches in awe. His friends, his accomplishments, their accomplishments, the gatherings, the joy of magic. It was all beautiful. There is nothing in his collection of worlds that are like that.

"Equestria...Your woooorld...will soon be...mine."

The collector saw something in Spike's memories which could be very useful.

"Tree...of...Harmony. I will...see...everything...you've...witnessed."

The collector smiles as he continued to learn what Spike is reading. So much knowledge put into books and there is more for grabs.

"Spike."

The creature within Spike heard the collector speaking to him telepathically.

"Read every single book in this world. Then, chose the next host to take over. I shall promise every creature...eternal life."

Spike nodded in agreement to his collector's command. He resumes reading the next book.

Three hours passed as Spike continued to read book after book. He hasn't stopped although his body needs much-needed rest, the creature refuses to sleep on the job. Twilight came down after having a hard time sleeping. She is quite surprised to see Spike reading a book this late at night.

"Spike..?" Twilight yawns. "What are you reading this late at night?"

Spike didn't answer Twilight. He continued to read but put the book closer to his face.

"Spike?" Twilight said.

He remains silent.

"Spike?" Twilight said in a deep voice.

Still, he remains silent.

"SPIKE?!" Twilight shouted.

Spike puts down a book and begins to read another. Twilight now understand how Spike feels at times when he tried to call her out but was busy reading a book. Twilight figures that maybe Spike is trying to figure the situation their in on his own.

"Spike, if you need anything, just let me know." Twilight said as she headed back into her room hoping that Spike will answer back at the least. He didn't even bother answering back. Twilight sighed and knocked on Starlight's door. Starlight in her sleep groaned as she's waking up from the knocking.

"I'm coming. Just give me a sec." Starlight said as she adjusted her eyesight and trotted towards her door. She opened and saw that Twilight had a worried face. "What is wrong Twilight?"

"It's Spike, he's been up for a while reading books." Twilight said.

"How is that a problem?" Starlight asked.

"Normally, Spike stays up all night reading comic books, not actual books."

"So?"

"This isn't unlike him Starlight. Spike is not silent on reading. Normally, he reads out loud when he's by himself. Spike isn't one for ignoring nor being dead silent."

"Oh really? I have to see this myself." Starlight said as she trotted out of her room to head over to Spike.

As she saw Spike reading another book. She called out to him but only to get ignored. Spike puts down another book and reads another one. Starlight got in front of him trying to pry the book away from Spike but the grip is strong. While using her magic to pry the book away from Spike, his grip proved to be superb. Starlight had a hard time understanding the strength of a baby dragon compared to her magic. Despite using only 50% of it, Spike should have loosened his grip over the book. Maybe he is on to something or maybe not. Starlight trotted back to her room where Twilight is standing by.

"So, how did it go?" Twilight asked.

"He's not listening to me. Also, I tried taking the book away from him but his grip on the book proved to be too much. Now I understand why you are worried."

"I think we may need to spectate on Spike."

"I agree, Twilight."

Twilight and Starlight watched Spike from afar as he read the many books. Spike has shown no signs of tiredness, emotions, or reactions. Just calm and emotionless. Each book Spike read the collector gains more knowledge. His power grew immensely and his desire for the planet grew. After a few hours of reading, Spike read every book. He looks around which cause Twilight and Starlight to back away not wanting to be seen or caught. Spike took flight heading towards Canterlot. Twilight and Starlight ran towards a window to see where Spike is flying off to.

"Looks like he's heading to Canterlot." Starlight exclaimed.

"And so are we." Twilight stated.

Twilight and Starlight took flight and headed over to Canterlot. When they arrived, Spike is already reading books in the Canterlot library. Reading books that are not identical to the library. Twilight figured that Spike is at her old room filled with books so she and Starlight checked there. To their surprise, he wasn't there. Then they decided to check the Canterlot library. He's there and reading more books by the minute. Twilight and Starlight approached him.

"Spike, it's time to come home." Twilight said.

Spike remains silent as he read his book.

"Spike, it's alright. You can continue reading tomorrow, it's getting late and you need your rest." Starlight said.

Spike remains silent once more. He continues to read his book.

"That's it!" Twilight snapped.

Starlight backed away from Twilight as she snapped. Not wanting to be in her way. Twilight used her magic to pry the book away from Spike. Using her full power magic to rip the book away but Spike's grip proved to be superb once more. Twilight used her magic to teleport all the books in the library to a different location. A place that Spike will never think to look.

"SPIKE?!" Twilight said angrily.

Spike finished his book and puts it aside. He looks at Twilight.

"Thanks for your help horse." Spike said as he takes flight but only to be knocked down my Twilight in her rage state.

"Did you just called me a horse?!"

"I was in the middle of gathering information but you rudely interrupted me." Spike said emotionlessly.

Starlight went up to Twilight and calmed her down. Sadly it didn't do much. Twilight stomped her way to Spike giving him a look he'll never forget.

"We're going home! You are in a lot of trouble!"

Spike looked at Twilight and went up to her. Twilight can see a change in Spike's eyes. She calmed down long enough but Spike retaliates knocking Twilight down to the floor. His brute strength is surprising to Twilight as she plummets two flights down. When she landed, Spike took flight and headed off to the Crystal Empire. Starlight couldn't believe what she witnessed. She snapped out of her trance and teleported herself to Twilight.

"Are you alright Twilight?"

"No..." Twilight coughed as she got up. "I think we may have lost Spike."

"Lost Spike?"

"I saw something in his eyes when he stared at me. I saw something that words cannot describe."

"What did you see?"

"Someone different."

Starlight called out Discord's name which he appeared in a bathtub filled with gravy.

"What now Starlight Glimmer? Can't you see I'm busy right now?" Discord said while scrubbing himself with potatoes.

"Are you playing a prank on us with Spike?"

"The half-pint? Not on Freaky Friday. Today is a draqonacuus day to relax at home. Not create chaos in the lands but at home where someone such as I can appreciate."

"Alright, can you tell us where Spike may be flying to?"

"The Crystal Empire. Spike is flying there as we speak."

"Any reason why?"

"Something about finding the right books or something. Look, I don't have all the answers and I have to prepare my clones a delicious meal so, I'll see you around Starlight. Ta ta." Discord said as he teleported back home.

Starlight and Twilight took the next train to the Crystal Empire. Deep in the depths of space, the collector of worlds is fascinated by the books Spike has been transmitting thus far. More knowledge and wisdom flourishing through his mind is making Equestria a worthy candidate for his prized collection.

"Soon...a thousand years of knowledge...will soon be mine. The time is rising...to grant eternal life...to all inhabitants of Equestria...I now need a suitable host once the books are all...transmitted."
