Assassination. Twilight Sparkle never considered the possibility that it could ever happen to her. After all, it had never happened to any of the other princesses, never been attempted. However, Twilight's eyes are opened to the dangers of being royalty when a knife comes flying through the air at her during a dinner with Princess Celestia. Luckily, Shining Armour is quick to his hooves in the moment of danger, and he brings Twilight to safety to the relief of everypony in the castle. But they all made a major mistake: assuming the assassin worked alone.

As information comes in, the royal family learns that the castle has been bugged, magically sealed, and booby trapped, meaning there could be danger lurking around every corner. Knowing that her life is the one the assassins are after, Twilight urges the others to separate from her for their own safety, swearing she will see them again outside. She just needs one pony to watch her back, to stay by her side.
