Peace for a Warrior
Peace for a Warrior Part 1
Load Full StoryNext ChapterBlazing Fury POV: Blazing Fury yawned and stretched, eliciting several satisfying pops from his back. He had a feeling today would be an excellent day. It was his weekend off after all and that meant he could go about his day without worrying about an attack...for the most part. Attacks could come at any time so it was really just hope that one wouldn't happen today. Blazing Fury looked in the mirror, ignoring the scars that adorned his almost 2500 year old body. Those were apart of him and he didn't think anything of them besides another part of his body. Stepping into the bathroom he turned on the water with his magic he got it to just the right temperature before stepping in and letting the water run down his mane and fur, his tail was soaked last. Enjoying his show the fur on his body clung to his body and had anyone been watching they would see the rippling muscles below his fur.
Blazing Fury as an Alicorn was a striking figure. His sky blue eyes matched well with his silver coat, his mane a deep blue that hung around his neck when not shortened with magic or tied up. His horn was nothing special, a simple silver color and pointy. His hooves as black as a midnight shadow and well kept like the rest of his body, well minus the scars.
Blazing Fury was not your standard unicorn, he was an Alicorn knight. He was the last Alicorn knight to be exact. The others had fallen either in battle or other various reasons. As a knight it was his job to protect the sisters and their kingdom to the best of his ability. Honor, courage, and loyalty were the traits of a knight but not mindless obedience like some of these...soldiers or guards seemed to be trained to abide by. Finishing his shower he stepped out and grabbed a towel with his magic to dry himself off which made his fur look a little unkept but that was fixed with a brush through it to make it look smooth and nice once more. Looking in the mirror once more he brushed his teeth and smirked a bit before turning to walk out of his room but not before grabbing his personal set of armor that was much better for combat than whatever that gold armor crap that the new guards wore was and used his magic to make it no bigger than a book in case the city should come under siege or should he be needed somewhere. Before leaving he used his magic one more to make himself look like a normal unicorn by shrinking his stature and making his wings vanish before leaving and heading into the city.

Celestia POV: She was already up as per custom since she had to raise the sun. Something was bothering her and she didn't like it. She didn't understand how someone could go so long like that without snapping or going insane. She barely survived the thousand years without Luna. "He needs a friend". She said out loud with a smile as she figured she had come up with an answer to a problem that had been bothering her for weeks now. Her smile was taken away by a soft laugh. "Dear dear Celestia. I don't think that's what our friend needs". Came a voice as Discord materialized in her room which made her frown. "Is nowhere sacred with you discord"? She asked as she didn't like her privacy being invaded, Faust knew she already had enough nobles and reporters doing that already.
Discord laughed softly. "Oh dear. I didn't know your room was chapel Celestia". He joked before landing on her floor. "But as I was saying, he has friends, he needs something more". Sitting down in front of her and crossing his legs as he made a heart shaped fruit appear and took a bite out of it before his face turned red and steam seemed to pour from his ears in a rather hilarious fashion before he sprayed himself with a fire extinguisher. "Anyways, what I'm saying is that he needs love. The only thing that's kept him sane is you two. He's not prideful and even I can see that the guards are not what they used to be. He's also the last knight which means his brothers and sisters are gone so he doesn't have anyone to joke around with or tell stories too without people being lost". He pointed out as Celestia thought for a moment.
"Think about it. Back when there were more of you the Alicorn knights were not only revered but also had friends they could speak to. Now they're legends, and history, and no one has seen one in ages except you, me, and Luna". He continued to point out and pointed out the window to the form of Blazing Fury walking out of the castle except as a unicorn. Celestia peaked out over the balcony and felt a soft blush cross her muzzle before shaking her head. "What's your point besides that he needs love"? She asked accusingly like she knew there was more to what he was saying. Discord let out an exasperated sigh and threw his arms up. "Look at his body for Faust sake! All those scars aren't because he decided to have fun with sword or arrows. Whether you know it or not, people don't just throw themselves in the line of fire or sharp objects if there's no love. It's been pushed back but it's there in his subconscious. He's given so much to this country, his body, his mind, and his heart. What has he received in return but the fact that he must hide his identity, a room where he's trapped in a sense that he can't leave without changing his looks, and an aching soul. I know it's hard to believe but in order to be the God of chaos you also have to be in tune with the souls of those around you". He began. "He may be 2500 in physical appearance...well 25 but age wise he's 2500 though that soul of his is at least twice that age".
Celestia looked back at Discord who continued. "If it wasn't for the fact that his soul was attached to him I would have thought it was someone else's soul. Souls age faster or slower based on their experiences and he's had plenty of hellish ones especially being that last one of his breed alive. Alicorn knights were a thing because they were the Alicorns with a proven ability to control high levels of magic and great strength and resolve. Do you want to know why he was assigned to you"? He asked and crossed his arms while he looked at her with a serious expression. With a small tilt of her head she squinted at him. "Why was he assigned"? She asked him seriously which made him chuckle. "You may think your student is gifted in magic but have you ever heard of those few who can wield the magic of the Steel Blooded"? With a shake of her head she looked back at the figure of the knight disappearing around the corner of a store.
Looking back at Discord she frowned. "Very few are able to do so or were able to do so. They were rare and had to be directly in line with the blood of the first steel. Those who wield that magic can harden their bones to that of steel, harden their fur to act as extra armor, or forge the best weapons that ever existed". She said before her eyes went wide. "Wait, you're saying he's Steel Blooded"?! She exclaimed to which Discord only hummed a tune as if antagonizing her for not noticing sooner. "That is exactly what I'm saying. That armor was forged by the smiths of old yes, but under his guidance. Being able to harden like steel is rare and a good reason to make him your bodyguard don't you think? Solaris was very smart and a good ruler". A soft laugh escaped him. "And one heck of a prankster".
Hearing this made Celestia look at him questioningly. "What did you two do exactly"? She questioned him curiously which made Discord shake his head. "Later Celestia. For now, we need to focus on your crush". Discord teased her which made Celestia go from white to red in her face. "I DO NOT HAVE A CRUSH"! She yelled which made discord fall over laughing. "Dear Celestia, I've seen you watching him for the past 1500 years and we both know he's the main reason you didn't go nuts when you lost your sister, not that I'm being an ass over it". Quickly putting his paws up showing that he didn't mean it as any jab towards her. "I just want to know when you'll stop denying it".
Celestia huffed and looked down, running her hoof against the white and gold carpet. "It just wouldn't work out Discord". After saying this she made her way towards the door. "And why's that? Because of the caste difference? Celestia this is a new age and while your people advance a bit slowly compared to other universes I've seen you are right on par with them in terms of cultural change. The times of massive empires, kingdoms, and feudal caste systems is over. He's an alicorn and the populace would be excited to have an alicorn prince and one that can protect them when it comes to a fight". Placing a clawed hand on her shoulder gently. "It's time to stop holding back and for both of you to heal and find something you've both been looking for since you both became adults whether either of you know it or not".
Shaking her head she growled. "And what makes you think he cares about me and doesn't see it only as his job"?! She snapped at him which made him put a muzzle on her. "First off stop snapping, second. While it may seem like he's just doing his job, you should look at the little details. He's pretty hard on the exterior but there's still a heart in there but it's more focused on being on the alert and ready to fight. Even then haven't you noticed any of the little things? Always asking if you're doing okay, saying goodnight to you, sometimes walking with you through the town, reading books to you when you had lost your sister, even going to far as to give you his sleeping bag at one point to keep you warm while he shivered through out the night". He began to point little things out. "Buck, even the random hug when you're having a bad day like he can sense when you're getting down. You two are in freaking sinc and it's both amazing and scary".
Snapping his fingers and making the muzzle vanish he looked out the window. "Not to mention how willing he's been to place himself in danger for you when he could have easily retired once his contract was up and it's been up for a while. He could have found a nice home but instead he chose to stay here and protect you, taking blow after blow from every enemy you faced. Why do you think you didn't see your sister wasn't captured during the changeling invasion, he got her out knowing that you'd want her to live and fight on if you didn't make it before leading an attack to get through to you. His attack pulled a large number of changelings away and if it hadn't then Cadence and Shining Armor never would have been able to touch horns or whatever it is they did". Sitting down in front of the alabaster mare he looked into her eyes.
"During the Storm King's attacks he moved your stone bodies to somewhere safe but I've never seen someone exact revenge upon themselves. It was rather frightening to witness and I barely managed to stop him from going nuts and going on a rampage through the city during the occupation". With a sigh he sat down and looked up at Celestia. "He's a good stallion, a lot of experience and scars to be sure but a good stallion all the same who's goals have always been selfless". Celestia went back to the balcony and looked out over the city with a sigh. "I know but...I'm an old mare Discord, immortal that I am but I am old. He could find another younger mare to be with like Luna". Turning she looked at Discord once more who shook his head.
"Celestia, you look vibrant and beautiful. Ponies and other species would kill to be your prince even that weird nephew of yours". Saying that made them both cringe at the thought of Blueblood. "Alright, I'll give it a shot but I'm not holding a bunch of hope". She replied with a sigh. "Let's get something to eat and plan your first move". With that Discord laughed softly and left the room with Celestia following him with a blush on her face.
Blazing Fury POV: Looking through the market he contemplated what he should get and decided Celestia might need something nice for once that wasn't from the kingdom or someone trying to gain favor. Spotting a bright blue necklace he thought of Celestia which made him hum in thought. Picking it up with his magic he checked it's size and smiled as he deemed it the correct fit for Celestia. In the center sat a bright yellow gem stone which glowed faintly. "Perfect". He muttered and went to the counter to check out. "How much for this necklace sir"? He asked the manager of the store who looked over to him with a kind smile. Unlike many of the ponies on the upper level of Canterlot, those on the lower and middle levels were honest people.
"That'll be 250 bits and that's including the military discount Blue Flame". Said the managed with a soft chuckle. Blue Flame was the name he had chosen as a cover name, granted people didn't really know about him and those who did were in a closed circle. "Alright". He replied and placed the required amount onto the counter to which the manager nodded his head. "Thank you for your business". He said as Blazing Fury put the Necklace in one of his saddle bags. "And thank you for the necklace". With a smile he left the store with the necklace securely placed in a bag. Deciding to continue to get something to eat he continued further into the city. "There's no way in Hell I'm paying a hoof and tail for a meal that doesn't even fill me". He thought out loud and stopped at a nice little middle eastern or Thai looking place to grab a bite to eat.
Author's Note
Art is not mine but I figured I'd do a story but one that doesn't instantly jump into sex and stuff and gives the OC some type of character instead of just being a random.
Also, he's not dark and brooding. He's a very focused person with years of combat experience under his belt. You'll see more of the personal side of him in the next chapter.
