Chapter 2: Apologies

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Sunset trotted into Celestia’s school, Sunset grumbled as ponies glared at her “Damn it, I know I was a bitch but I’ve changed.”

Sunset bumped into somepony, she looked up to see a mint green unicorn I saw the look of terror on her face. The mint green unicorn cried “Please don’t hurt me.”

Sunset blinked as she remembered the incident when she jammed her horn into the sink and left her there for a week. Sunset wrapped her hooves around the crying mare “I’m sorry Lyre.”

The mare whimpered quietly “My name is Lyra.”

Sunset during her training had learned how to hear very quiet noises. Sunset cried as squeezed tighter “I’m sorry Lyra, I was a real brat will you forgive me?”

Lyra gasped “Air.” Sunset let go, Lyra smiled “Sure I’ll forgive you. Amethyst and Moondancer though are going to be the tough ones.”

Sunset sighed “I know.”

Sunset trotted further into the school, her head dropped as the glares grew stronger. She heard a voice “Hello Queen Bitch, why are you here?”

Sunset said in a morose tone“I’m sorry Moondancer for being a horrible bitch and stealing your books, and ruining your homework, and burning your mane…”

Moondancer scowled her voice rising “It is going to take much more than a few apologies, Sunset! You are a monster, a scornful beast, you set ponies on fire for fun, your cursed those who stood up to you! You are a demon in a pony’s shell and you don’t deserve forgiveness!”

Sunset galloped out the room crying (She’s right I am a monster, I should just go and die. I hurt so many, I just never realised it.)

Moondancer was smirking as she watched the amber unicorn gallop out of the school. Her smirk vanished as she heard a snarl behind “What the Tartarus was that Moondancer, I don’t like Sunset by any means but I would not have gone that far. Besides she obliviously needed to see me as she wished to ask how Spike has been going and now she can’t.”

Three hours later after drying her tears and after cleaning herself up she headed to the Canterlot Police Station, on the outside it was a multi story structure with massive white stone walls with a massive sign reading “EPF.” Sunset entered the building on the inside it’s walls where white along with a white tiled floor, she approached they reception desk where a bright red mare sat her blue mane flowing past her withers, her cutie mark a small communicator. The mare smiled “Sunset, how are you doing.”

Sunset frowned “I’m fine, Hunnigan I just want the toughest mission available I don’t care what it is.”

Hunnigan frowned as she looked through the files on her computer “Are you sure about this, most first missions are ponies on ticket duty.”

Sunset nodded “I’m sure.”

Hunnigan turned to her with a frown “There is the an incident in Squirrel City involving a few murders, I will not give you anything higher than this.”

Sunset smiled “Thanks.”

Hunnigan rolled her eyes “Be careful, Officer Shimmer.” Sunset smiled as she received the printout of the mission and went out back. The room was covered with multiple weapons, Sunset took a 9mm pistol and a standard blue police uniform which covered the entire upper part of her body.

Sunset trotted into the garage where she saw several motorised carriages, each one powered by a thaumic engine. She trotted towards the key board, where one of the keys said on it in bright red letters “Sunset Shimmer.” Sunset smiled as she grabbed the keys and unlocked one of the carriages. She opened the exit door and got into the vehicle, she set the vehicle to drive and drove onto the street, she frowned as she looked at the horse drawn carriages been pulled along beside her. She knew that the motorised carriages were expensive and only the force had them, even in that instance they were only implemented in big cites like Canterlot.

Once she left Canterlot she began to drive on a long dirt road. Hours past quickly for Sunset as the dusty road was surrounded by northing but dusty open plains. She pressed a button as she approached the city, “Squirrel City Police Department pick up, it’s Officer Shimmer.” Sunset sent the message, her worry increasing as not a single response came through. Her eyes narrowed as she entered the city.

Meanwhile Celestia was in her room crying as she looked at picture of herself, tired and smiling as she held a tiny amber filly with fiery mane in a towel, not knowing that the mare that filly became was going to be entering the most dangerous place in Equestria at this time.
