Rainbow frowned as Sunset was standing in front of a helicopter with Cloud who was trying to keep tears out of her eyes “Come back to me safely.”

Sunset gave her a soft hug “I will” she then turned to Rainbow Dash “You are in charge of Ponyville’s defence while I’m away.”

Rainbow saluted “I will give it my all, even my life if I have to. You have my word as proud Pegasus and you apprentice.”

Sunset smiled “That’s all I needed to hear” she boarded the copter that took off at a breakneck pace. Rainbow began to fly back towards the town with a smile, Pinkie bounced over with a smile “Rainbow Dash, I need a favour?”

Rainbow frowned as she carefully moved a thunderhead over Cloud’s home, Pinkie was carefully looking at the cloud “A little to the left, a little more to the left. Perfect”

Spike exited to the house only for Pinkie to nod at Rainbow, Rainbow bucked the cloud and Spike hiccuped flames flying out of his mouth. Rainbow burst into laughter “That was great, I didn’t think you were a prankster.”

Pinkie laughed “Its all in good fun and I love fun.”

After the two recovered Rainbow whispered to her “Do you want to help with some pranks? I have some good ideas and I’m sure you do too.”

Rainbow and Pinkie were at Sweet Apple Acres grinning as they hid behind a tree, Applejack’s jaw dropped trotted out to find all of the apple baskets were painted various colours. Rainbow and Pinkie burst into laughter, Applejack shouted “RAINBOW!!!” Rainbow grabbed Pinkie Pie and flew off rapidly before the Apple farmer could find them.

The two spent the rest of the day pulling pranks, the next morning Rainbow Dash woke up early had a quick shower before breakfast. After a quick breakfast of oats she flew towards the Ghastly Gorge, a massive boulder made of solid stone rested on the hill.

She frowned as Sunset’s words echoed in her head “One day you will be able to destroy this boulder with one strike.” Rainbow delivered a barrage of punches and kicks onto the boulder, her breathing began to grow heavy as her hooves ached.

She was taking a deep breath when she saw a familiar pair of brown wings and white feathers of griffon she knew from Flight School. She grinned “Gilda, it’s good to see you.”

Gilda raised an eyebrow “Why are you out here?”

Rainbow smiled “I was training out here, I was trying to break that boulder.”

Gilda looked in awe at the massive stone boulder, it was larger than an Ursa Major. Gilda blinked “No-one can break that, it’s massive.”

Rainbow laughed “The one who’s been teaching me told that once my training is finished I will be able to break that boulder. She even did it to an equally large boulder.”

Gilda’s eyes widened “No, way who is she?”

Rainbow smiled “Her name’s Sunset Shimmer, a military mare. She is not her because there has been a B.O.W incident and as one of the few survivors of the Squirrel City Incident she was called out to assist.”

Gilda grinned “It seems you have some cool friends.”

Rainbow frowned “Okay Gilda, this is important I live in Ponyville. I want you to try and get along with everyone, especially my friends.”

Gilda sighed “For you Dash, for you.”

Rainbow sighed “I know this is not easy Gilda but tone it down a bit. There is a different between sarcastic and cruel, also don’t hurt Cloud Kicker.”

Gilda frowned “I won’t hurt her or Fluttershy but can you tell me why are you insistent on this?”

Rainbow grimaced “Cloud Kicker is Sunset’s marefriend and if you hurt her I won’t be able to keep Sunset from murdering you.”

Gilda shuddered “Okay, I will play nice.”

Rainbow smiled “Good, we can head back to… oh crap I have to get to work. I’ll see you later at Pinkie’s party.”

Gilda blinked in confusion as Rainbow flew back into town “What party?” She shook her head “Whatever, I might as well check out the town.”

Gilda flew towards Ponyville, she landed in the central square to see ponies looking at her with a curious glance before shrugging. She let out the deep breath she didn’t even know she was holding “Okay, that went better than I expected.”

Gilda reacted almost instinctively swinging her claws at a pink blur, her eyes widened as she saw a pink mare with a bleeding muzzle. Several ponies were glaring at, she turned around to see an angry Applejack galloping towards her at rapid speed she turned around and slammed her hooves into Gilda, sending griffon flying into a building.

Gilda coughed up blood as she saw the angry Earth Pony “It was an accident .”

Applejack growled “Yeah and Ah’m a Pegasus, take this ya varmint!”

Gilda screamed as Applejack slammed her hooves down, she was about to do it again when a butterscotch pegasus mare grabbed her in a surprising show of strength before throwing her away. Gilda blinked “Fluttershy, how?”

Fluttershy smiled demurely “When you handle bears, manticores and even the odd Ursa Minor that stumbles out of the Everfree you have to be strong.”

Applejack growled “Fluttershy, this griffon attacked Pinkie Pie!”

Fluttershy’s eyes glowed slightly “Applejack, she was startled! Griffons react in a similar to way to how Sunset reacts to surprises, it the instinct of an apex predator to be on guard at all times and it doesn’t help that Griffon society is incredibly rough!”

Pinkie trotted over a massive bandage on her muzzle, Gilda sighed “I’m sorry, I overreacted.”

Pinkie smiled “It’s fine, I have something to show you.” Before Gilda could say a word everypony in Ponyville was in Sugarcube Corner with a massive welcome to Ponyville Gilda banner.

Rainbow flew over after having a small conversation with Fluttershy “I must admit this party was set up very quickly, still how did your first time in Ponyville go?”

Gilda grinned “Better than I expected, just don’t give me too rapid a surprise. My claws are quite sharp.”

Rainbow frowned “I should have warned you about Pinkie and how she likes to get really close to other ponies.”

Gilda frowned “I should have been more aware, ponies tend to be overly friendly. We both made a mistake and let’s leave at that.”

Rainbow whispered “I think Pinkie spiked the punch, it’s why she is shooing the foals away from it. So you want to see how much you can drink.”

Gilda grinned “You’re on.” Little did either of them know they would wake up in a compromising position.
