Sunset woke to the smell of smoke, she frowned as she walked outside to see smoke emanating from the mountain. Sunset frowned “We need to investigate what’s going on.”

Spike nodded as he came out “If you’re going up there then I’m coming with.”

Cloud nodded “As am I.” Spike burped up a letter, Sunset frowned as she read it

To Sunset

A dragon has taken up residence on a mountain near Ponyville, I am putting my faith in you to deal with the situation. I would love to help but I have a delegation from the Griffon Lands arriving soon.

Spike frowned “Great, we have a big dragon to deal with.”

Sunset nodded “Unfortunately. We have to bring this up with the local populace, it would be unwise to leave the them uninformed.”

Cloud frowned “We also can request additional aid, we want this to go as diplomatically as possible.”

One hour later, the three of them stood on a stage in front of everyone living in Ponyville. Sunset frowned “There is a dragon that has decided to take residence on a local mountain, Cloud, Spike and I are going to the mountain but anyone else is allowed to come should they so choose.”

Rainbow shouted as she flew “I’m coming, I wouldn’t miss facing off against a dragon for anything!”

Gilda flew over as well “I’m coming too, I wouldn’t miss this for the world!”

Another voice shouted “The Mystic and Magnificent Twilight Sparkle will assist you!”

Sunset frowned “Is that everypony?” She turned around as she felt a hoof poke her, she turned around to see Fluttershy behind them “Fluttershy, do wish to come too?”

Fluttershy nodded “I do, I may not be a super strong Griffon or a really fast flier or a powerful mage but I want to help.”

Sunset smiled “All I needed from you is to do you best, nothing more, nothing less.”
After gathering what they needed the group headed towards the mountain, they arrived at the base of the mountain. Gilda, Rainbow and Cloud flew up, Sunset teleported up with Spike on her back. They looked down to see Fluttershy shivering as she tried to climb up the cliff with ice picks.

Twilight frowned “Why is she taking so long?”

Gilda frowned “Fluttershy is scared of heights and flying” Gilda grimaced at the confused look on the unicorn’s face “It’s not the most uncommon thing in the world, not all pegasi like flying.”

Sunset nodded “In fact quite a few pegasi aren’t amazing flyers and some stay ground bound out of choice. If you are pegasus that is really hyped about flying you live in Cloudsdale or at least most do.”

Rainbow nodded “I was born in Cloudsdale, I left when Fluttershy did. We have been friends for years.”

Fluttershy had managed to make it up, Gilda and Rainbow put a wing over Fluttershy with a smile “Good job.”

Fluttershy smiled weakly “Thanks, I’m sorry that took so long.”

Cloud smiled “It’s fine, not everyone can be Rainbow Dash.”

Sunset smiled “You’re our friend, we help each other and you’re doing very well. Trust me, it takes real bravery to do what you have done.” The group continued along the rocky path, Fluttershy did her best not to run off in fear as she heard the dragon roar.

Just as they approached the mountain side a loud roar caused an avalanche, Twilight began firing magical blasts while Sunset threw fireballs out of her hooves. Gilda, Rainbow and Cloud were hitting breaking apart the larger boulders. Fluttershy was using her ice picks to break the smaller boulders to rubble.

Soon they had arrived at a large open plateau in front of a large cave, Twilight exclaimed “Let the Mystic and Majestic Twilight handle this!” She stormed in with a blistering confidence “Dragon, you will leave this cave or feel the wrath of the Mystic and Majestic Twilight!” Her glowed as she fired a massive blast, the dragon stood up and roared sending her flying, Twilight slammed into a solid wall of stone outside of the cave.

Rainbow Dash growled “Let me at them, I will give beat them black and blue!”

Fluttershy began to walk towards the cave an unusually confidence filling her. She growled in an almost demonic voice “You dragon wake up!”

The dragon looked down at the pony, she leapt onto the dragon’s muzzle glaring at the dragon with firmness in her voice “Do you have an idea what you have done, you are covering the sky with smoke polluting the air for all that live near the town! Not to mention you hurt a friend of mine!”

The dragon was cowered by the fierceness of the mare “But she attacked me first?”

Fluttershy frowned “I understand you were upset but that is no excuse to lose you temper” she then frowned “I believe the smoke you are emitting is an internal issue, open your mouth for a second?”

She walked in, she looked around the dragon’s mouth before coming out with a frown “I have read books on dragons and you have been failing to consume a daily total of one cleansing crystal every day for two months. I recommend for you to consume two cleansing crystals every day for two weeks before going back to one because I would rather you not to have to leave you home here.”

The dragon nodded “I had forgotten about that, I have ignored the problem for a while but I will correct this I promise you on my honour as a dragon.”

Fluttershy smiled as he took two cleansing gems and swallowed them, she nodded still smiling before she left. She looked at the group outside “The dragon will cause us no more trouble, I promise.” The group cheered as they woke up Twilight and headed back down the mountain to celebrate their success thanks to the usually shy mare.
