Spike's Diary

Dear Diary,

The last time I went over to spend time with other dragons, it was one of the most unpleasant times of my life. Having gone back there, I can safely say that, yeah, there's a good reason why I don't visit my homeland that often. Why did I go back, you ask? Well, seems the position of head dragon was up for grabs and all of us had to go there. I didn't want to, but hey, I had no choice. Once there, I realised that I sort of had to try for the job myself, since the alternative was letting other dragons, like that Jerk Garble, take it. No way was that gonna be any good! So I competed, and even had the help of the Dragon Lord's daughter, Princess Ember.

You'll never guess how it ended. I actually managed to win! I, Spike, was ruler of all dragons! But, it was only for a few moments, because I immediately gave the job to Ember. Because ruling over that lot? Yeah, no thanks. I'm much happier in Ponyville thank you very much. Besides, given what I learned about Ember, I think she'll be a pretty good Dragon Lord, or at least better than every other dragon that might have got the job.

All I can say now is that I'm really glad to be back in Ponyville.
