Spike's Diary

Dear Diary,

Every once in a little while you come to understand and appreciate just how much hard work your friends put into their day jobs. For Twilight and me, we learned today just what kind of sheer effort Applejack has to do on a daily basis. I mean wow, the work that mare puts into her day-to-day routine is just off the charts. Granted, it turned out that many of her chores were deliberately made harder than they needed to be because of this or that thing that happened in the past, but even after Twilight helped AJ with that, it would still have been an enormous amount of work.

Do all Apples work this hard? It's hard to imagine. But, knowing AJ, I sort of get the feeling that she goes out of her way to work harder than the rest of her family to serve as some kind of example. You know, be somepony they can all look up to and be inspired by? Don't know if that's true or not, but I can safely say that I was certainly inspired by what she does.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I think Twilight and me have earned a session at the local spa after all this work.
