Spike's Diary

Dear Diary,

You'll never guess who just got picked to be the new Headmare of the school! That's right, it's Starlight! Me and Twilight were pretty excited to tell her, but not anywhere near as excited as she was when she heard the news. I still think a bone popped out after she hugged us. Still, she was pretty nervous about it, which I can definitely understand. After all, remember how much stress Twilight went through when she took on the job? But hey, Starlight's not facing this alone. She's brought Sunburst in as her right-hoof stallion to help her, and she's even given her old counselling job to Trixie. I know that kinda sounds like a weird choice, but I trust Starlight if she says Trixie's good for the role.

But, if it's okay to tell you a secret, I'm not sure if I'm gonna be here at the school as much as I used to be. It's not that I don't want to work here, don't get me wrong, but most of that was in helping out Twilight. And since she's gonna be going back to Canterlot to rule Equestria, I'll probably be going with her to help with that too. I might not actually have time to stay here and do all the stuff I used to do at the school. You know, I think I'll talk to Twilight about it later. She's probably even more worried about all these changes than I am, so maybe she can offer some advice?
