Spike's Diary

Dear Diary,

Today is Hearts and Hooves Day, one of the most important events of the year. A time when couples all over Equestria spend the day together and talk about how much they mean to one another. As you can probably guess, I spent all day trying to think of how best to talk to the pony I care for. Rarity was in her workshop all afternoon, so I knew where she was gonna be. But, as usual, I just couldn't figure out what to say. Ponies always say how "you'll know what to say when the time comes", but I can say from experience that it's nowhere near as easy as that! When I went up to her, it was like my ability to talk was just yanked out of my brain and I just stood there with my mouth hanging open for a good five minutes.

In the end, I just wound up helping her out with some chores while she worked on her latest outfit. And you know, I can certainly think of worse ways to spend the day. Although I wish Rarity had been in a slightly better mood during all that. Apparently Sweetie Belle and the other fillies had done something that had ticked Rarity off. Something about "getting involved in things they shouldn't have done" or something. Knowing those three, it's probably best I don't ask about it.

Still, I guess I got to spend the day with my crush after all, so I can be happy about that.
