Spike's Diary

Dear Diary,

Today, the person I have known longer than anypony else has just had the most extraordinary thing happen to her. Twilight Sparkle, my closest friend, is now an alicorn! And more than that, she's a Princess now! After some magical mishap where our friends's cutie marks were switched, Twilight was beside herself with worry. But then, after figuring out a solution, something strange happened. After Twilight returned to us, she was changed, and now had a pair of wings! Everyone was unsure of how to take it, but then Princess Celestia showed up, telling all of us that Twilight has accomplished something that nopony else has ever done, which lead to her transformation.

This is so much to take in. Does she have awesome new powers now? How soon before she can use those wings to fly? Will she move to Canterlot or something? What's gonna happen? I'm just so excited and worried about all this, my head feel like it's spinning. But I haven't said anything to Twilight so far. Because let's face it, no matter what stuff I'm fleeing, she's probably feeling a hundred times that! I think we'll just ease back and let her get used to all this. Besides, I think we could all do with a rest after a big chance like this.

I mean...wow, this was one heck of a day!
