Dear Diary,

Well, I'm back in Canterlot. Twilight keeps telling all our friends that I'm "away on business" or something, but really, I just asked her to say that. Makes it sound all official and important and stuff. In truth, I'm actually just visiting the family. Twilight's parents were really glad to see me, and Velvet kept trying to stuff my face with cookies, as usual. I love her cooking, I really do, but sometimes she can go way overboard with it. Night Light was a bit more laid back, telling me what's been going on in town since me and Twilight left for Ponyville. Not a lot, apparently, which isn't surprising. Canterlot doesn't really change all that much.

I tried to find Shining while I was here, but you know how it is. He was always pretty busy with his time in the Royal Guard. He's kinda like Twilight with her studies, always so focused that he doesn't think of anything else. But hey, maybe I'll see him next time. Oh, you know who I did see though? Cadence! She was really excited to hear what me and Twilight have been up to since we moved, and she seemed pretty interested in everything I told her. Psst! Just between you and me, I think she suspects I have a crush on somepony. Well, that's the Princess of Love for you. She always knows what's up.

Anyways, that's all for now, Diary. I've still got some time to kill before I catch the train back to Ponyville. I wonder what Twilight's been doing while I was gone?
