“Pinkie you have mail” Mrs. Cake called out for her niece.

The easily excitable hyperactive pony bounced down the stairs towards the counter where Mrs. Cake left a letter addressed to her.

“Oh goodie! I wonder who it could be from; maybe it’s Twilight, or Applejack, or Rarity.” The pink pony gasped. “OR maybe it’s from Princess Celestia asking me to throw a party for Luna’s birthday so she doesn’t get depressed and turn back into Nightmare Moon or create another tantabus because her birthday reminds her of when she was younger and that makes her think about when she tried to--”

Mrs. Cake giggled seeing her niece ramble on about the possibilities of what the letter could be rather than just opening it. “The only way to find out who sent it and what it’s about is to read it.”

“Okie Dokie Lokie” Pinkie stopped mid rant. She grabbed a mail opening knife out of a drawer and with a swift swing opened the letter while it was still laying flat on the counter.

“Careful with that sweetie.” Mrs. Cake said with alarm.

“Noooooooo problem.” Pinkie sat the put the knife back into the drawer she got it from then took the opened mail in her mouth to bounce back to her room upstairs to read it. Once upstairs she turned on a desk laptop to shine a light on the letter for better reading conditions and began to see who had sent the letter and what it was about:

To Pinkamena Diane Pie,
I have heard from your friend, Cheese Sandwich, that you are the best party planner he knows. I request a party for my darling little girl Rosebud. She is a wonderful filly of seven years and I want to give her the best. I’ll leave the theme of the party up to you as well as the entertainment as long as you include Trixie Lulamoon. My daughter has heard stories of this traveling mare but has never had the chance to see her. You budget for this party is 5,000. Use how you see fit and any bits you save will be paid to you plus a base guaranteed pay of 1,500 bits. Should you accept this request the party will be in one week on Saturday at Trotsville and I would like to begin around 5pm.

Sorry for the short notice. I was previously working with Cheese Sandwich but he said that you are a better fit for planning a party for the youth; he deals with a more mature crowd. I hope to hear from you soon Ms. Pie!

Sincerely,Grand Gold

Pinkie’s eyes lit up as she read the letter, and by the time she was finished she was bouncing rapidly in place. “This is going to be the greatest most wonderfulest party ever. We’re going to have cake and pie, and ice cream, and cookies.” Pinkies gasped, “With all those bits I could fill an entire room with party cannons then all the fillies could shoot confetti. Then I could get a bouncy house and--”

Pinkie’s train of thought stopped abruptly. “Wait I have to find Trixie and tell her she has a show, but I don’t know where she is. What if I can’t find her? What if she’s too far away and can’t make it in time? What if she’s already booked and can’t fit it into her schedule?”

Mrs. Cake walked upstairs after hearing a muffled version of Pinkie’s ranting. “Is everything alright dear?”

Pinkie’s attention snapped to her aunt. “Everything’s fine. I just need to find a certain pony for a party I’m throwing.” It was the only explanation she gave before marching downstairs and out the front door. Mrs. Cake watch as pink, joyful pony marched out of the house and towards whatever destination she had in mind.

Pinkie Pie arrived at the School of Friendship. While Pinkie may not know how to find Trixie she knew of someone who would. This pony usually is hard to track down but fortunately for Pinkie, today she had to work as the school’s Guidance Counselor. She ran through the halls looking for counselor but had no luck. Finally she saw another pony scheduled to come in for the day.

“Twilight!” Pinkie said in a high pitched and excited voice.

Twilight Sparkle snapped her attention to Pinkie putting on a bright smile to greet her friend. “Hi Pinkie! You’re not on the schedule to be in today; what brings you here?”

Pinkie took in a deep breath. “Weeeellllll I got a letter in the mail today asking me to throw a party and I said but I haven’t sent a letter yet saying I will because they asked for Trixie and I don’t know where Trixie is and I don’t want to say i’ll throw the party if she can’t make it so I have to go look for her but she travels all the time so she could be anywhere but I know she’s good friends with Starlight so I thought I would look for her first so she could tell me where Trixie is so I came here because I knew she was working today but I haven’t seen her in school but then I found you so now i’m asking you if you seen Starlight so I can ask her if she’s seen Trixie.”

Twilight shook her head side to side still with a smile on her face. She was used to Pinkie’s outburst and by now she could even decipher them. “Starlight should be on her break right now. She usually sits by the fountain in the courtyard to eat her lunch. You should check there.”

Pinkie gave Twilight a kiss on the cheek. “Thank you so much Twilight.” And before Twilight could say another word Pinkie dashed out into the halls of the school heading towards the courtyard.

“You’re welcome Pinkie. Good Luck!”

Pinkie spotted Starlight exactly where Twilight said she’d be. Starlight was eating a cucumber sandwich enjoying the peace of the courtyard with only a few students around. Starlight spotted Pinkie as she made her way over and patted the ground next to her inviting the party pony over to sit with her. Pinkie bounced over to Starlight sitting where she indicated.

“Hey Pinkie, I thought you were off today.”

“I am, but I need you help to find a certain pony.”

Starlight tilted her head to the side a bit thrown off by the request. “Uh, sure I’ll help as much as I can.”

Pinkie gave Starlight a beaming smile. “Thanks Starlight, I’m sure you know where Trixie is, right?”

Starlight was taken aback hearing Trixie’s name. “TRIXIE!? Last time I checked you two didn’t exactly get along well. Why are you looking for her now all of a sudden?”

Pinkie took a deep breath; a tell tale sign that she’s about to go on a verbal onslaught. Starlight winced knowing what was coming, but before Pinkie could get out a single word Starlight put a hoof up to Pinkie’s mouth. Once she knew the pink pony couldn’t talk her ears off she spoke in a low voice, “calmly.”

Pinkie exhaled the breath she was holding onto then spoke in a calm manner. “I got a letter today asking me to throw a party, but they said that Trixie must be there. I don’t know where she is to even ask her but I know you keep contact with her. Do you know where Trixie is?”

Starlight nodded. “Yeah, sorta. She actually sent me a letter yesterday but I didn’t get around to reading it. She usually tells me what’s going on and where she’s heading next so I guess now’s as good a time as any to read it.”

Starlight teleported an envelope to herself. She opened the envelope and inside was Trixie’s letter. Starlight began reading the letter with varying expressions on her face. After a few moments of silence Starlight spoke to clue in Pinkie on what she was reading.

“She went back to Saddle Arabia to do a makeup show since our last one went so horrible and from what she’s saying here it went really well. Looks like a few other creatures heard about her show and want her to perform. She’s on her way to--” Starlight’s mouth dropped open. “TROTTINGHAM!?”

“TROTTINGHAM!?” Pinkie echoed.

“That’s at least a four day trip. It’s so far and you have to take a boat from Manehattan to even get there; and that’s if she leaves from here.”

Pinkie started to get a little concerned. “Do you think she’ll be able to make it?”

Starlight took a moment to think. “I’m not sure but I can ask her.”

Pinkie tilted her head to the side wondering how the unicorn was going to ask Trixie anything considering she was halfway across the continent in Saddle Arabia. She didn’t have to wonder for long though as Starlight teleported an ink well, quill, and parchment to their location and began scribbling out a letter.

“Ooohhhh, you’re going to send a letter? The only way to get it there fast enough is to send out an army of messenger owls all with a copy of the letter, scatter them out, and hope one of them finds her. Then she can write a letter back then we’ll have to send out another army of owls to find the first army of owls--”

“Or I could just port it her like we have been doing…”

Pinkie rolled her eyes. “Ugh, that’s so boring, but it works I guess. How do you know where she is anyways?”

Starlight giggled inwardly. “I bought her a Source Stone earlier for her birthday that way I could send messages to her while she’s out. It gives off a signal I can pick up on if I focus that way I don’t have to guess where she is and where to send mail.”

Starlight immediately began to focus by taking a deep, relaxing breath and closing her eyes. After a few moments Starlight’s horn started to glow with her magical aura and in a blink the paper was nowhere to be seen. Starlight reopened her eyes and find the pink pony very close to her. She stumbled back in surprise as Pinkie stood in the same spot with a wide smile on her face.

“Did she get it, did she get it?” Pinkie started to bounce in place.

Starlight gathered herself. “I’m sure she got it Pinkie. Just give her a few minutes so she can respond.”

“Okie dokie lokie” Pinkie continued to hop in place with her pace picking up ever so slightly.

A few minutes go by and an envelope appears out of thin air landing about twenty or so feet away from them...into the fountain. Starlight exhaled heavily at Trixie’s attempt to teleport an object. “Well at least she kinda close this time.” Walking over to the ruined note Starlight wrapped it in her magic and used a drying spell so that Trixie’s letter would be legible and began to read it.

Yet another request to see ‘The Great and Powerful Trixie!’ Trixie will of course be in attendance for Pinkie’s party in Trotsville. As a showmare it is Trixie’s duty to satisfy all her fans. To do this though means that Trixie will not be able to do her usual stop in Ponyville and must head straight to Trottingham for a double show. So it is with a great and heavy that Trixie informs you that she will not be able to spend time with you until she completes her tour.

P.S. I’ll give you a private show you’ll never forget next time we meet. I’ll set the stage in the bedroom and make sure to bring the fireworks. xoxoxo

Starlight looked up from the note to tell Pinkie the good news but she was nowhere to be seen.

“Oh cool a private show from Trixie!”

“AAHHH!”

Pinkie ended up right beside Starlight somehow and was reading the letter along with her. Much to Starlight’s dismay this also meant that she was the postscript that was supposed to be for Starlight only.

Starlight quickly folded the letter and ported it away somewhere and was now turning as pink as her excitable friend from embarrassment; though Pinkie didn’t seem to grasp this. “Why would Trixie have a private show in a bedroom? She wouldn’t have enough space in the bedroom; and what about the fireworks?”

Starlight at this point was now salmon colored in the face. “Oh there will be plenty of fireworks.”

“I like fireworks. Can I come?”

Starlight stumbled back in surprise hearing the naive pony say something so crass. “NO! I mean, that’s uh, it’s not what, it’s--” Starlight couldn’t form a coherent sentence with her face now a burning crimson more akin to Big Mac. “Pinkie, Trixie will meet you in Trottingham. She usually performs on Friday and Trottingham isn’t a big place so you should be able to spot her easily; just talk to her after the show.”

Wanting to get around from her embarrassment Starlight turned away and was walking away from Pinkie back into the school. “I have to get back to work. I’ll see you around.”

“Okie dokie lokie! See you Starlight, hope you enjoy your fireworks with Trixie!”

Starlight picked up her pace from a walk to a brisk trot to get out of sight as fast as possible without drawing any more attention to herself. Pinkie found it odd that Starlight would be so bashful about liking fireworks but shrugged it off and began to bounce back home to write Grand Gold a reply letter.

To Mister Grand Gold,
I accept your offer to throw a party for your daughter. Trixie Lulamoon will be there for a small show for all the young fillies who will be there. I’ll be in Trottingham as soon as possible so we can go over details. We’re going to have a smashing time.

Signed, Pinkie Pie

P.S. Why so formal? Just call me Pinkie <3
