Party Planning

Trotsville, a small suburb of Trottingham. It’s a cozy little town on the east coast of the island. Reserved for some of Equestria’s wealthiest creatures the houses were bigger, the residents all have their own personal boats for travel, and most of the locals all wore expensive clothing; even more so than Canterlot. Though Pinkie wasn’t here for the fancy clothing, the yacht cruises, or even the coastline view of Griffinstone. She was here to party, or rather to throw a party for a bunch of fillies.

She was just reaching the address that Grand Gold sent her and could barely contain her excitement of meeting new ponies in a new place. She took a deep breath and knocked on the large mahogany wood doors. After a few moments she heard a feminine voice call, “Coming.” The door opened and sea green unicorn was seen on the other side. She had a long black mane and was wearing a maid uniform.

The maid pont put a smile on her face. “You must be Pinkie Pie. Please come in Master Gold is waiting for you in his office I’ll escort you there.” The maid stepped aside allowing Pinkie into the manor.

Pinkie took a moment to survey the area. The place screamed of riches and elegance. It had marble floors and pillars trimmed with gold with a slightly off white coat of paint on the walls to compliment the interior of the house. Various vases and sculptures could be seen all around the lobby area two of which resembled the sister princesses.

Seeing how the house was laid out Pinkie thought to herself that his daughter may possibly want a high profile party. One to show off to all her friends. It certainly would explain the five thousand bits budget, but before she could allow her creativity to take hold she would need to speak to the daughter or at least see her room to get an idea of what she likes.

Pinkie continued to follow the maid through the house and eventually she came to double wooden door that the maid knocked on.

“Who’s there” a deep masculine voice called out from the other side of the room.

“It’s Pinkie Pie sir, she’s here to disgust the party for Rosebud” the maid replied.

The hall was silent for a moment before the door opened up and a bright yellow unicorn with brown hair stepped into view.

“Hello Ms. Pie, I’m Grand Gold. I’m happy you accepted this request on such short notice. I do appreciate it.” He bowed graciously to show his appreciation for the mare then stepped to the side. “Please come inside so we may discuss preparations.”

Pinkie bowed her head in return then entered the room with Grand Gold. They started with proper introductions then got right down to business. There were several things to go over such as number of guest, food, theme, budget, timing, and much more. They spend the next couple of hours going through every detail they could think of to make sure this would be a perfect night for Rosebud. The process told a few hours and a few trips around the manor including Rosebud’s room but by the end of it they had worked out a flawless plan and schedule.

“Thank you for all your hard work Ms. Pie, and on such short notice. I’ll be sure to throw in a bonus for you.”

Pinkie smiled, “No problem Mr. Gold. I Pinkie promise that this is going to be the bestest party ever.”

Grand Gold smiled back at her. “And are you sure that Ms. Lulamoon is going to be able to make it? I heard she has a show in Trottingham the day before; that’s not going to be a problem is it?”

Pinkie gave a confident shake of her head.

“Good!” Grand Gold started to uncomfortably shift in place. “Umm, Ms. Pie may I ask you one more favor?”

Pinkie looked at him curious as to what this favor could be.

“Do you think it’ll be possible that I could get a private audience with Ms. Lulamoon?”

Pinkie put a hoof up to her mouth and giggled. “Of course, silly. She’ll love to hear that you’re a fan.”

Grand Gold started to shift again and Pinkie thought she started to see sweat beads form on his forehead right under his horn. “And I uh, also heard she’s not too umm, against ‘fireworks’ in the bedroom?”

Pinkie tilted her head in confusion. “Fireworks in the bedroom?”

“Oh nevermind I don’t know what I was thinking. Forgive me.”

Pinkie thought back the letter she read from Trixie to Starlight and remembered that Trixie brought up fireworks in the bedroom. “It’s fine, I’m sure Trixie wouldn’t mind some fireworks in the bedroom. From what I know, she really likes it.”

Grand Gold was ecstatic with Pinkie’s reply. “Wonderful! Me and my wife Rosemary have been looking for something to spice up our chambers. Do you think you could get her to join us after all the fillies have tired themselves out?”

Pinkie thought for a moment. She didn’t know Trixie very well but she was sure she wouldn’t say no to something like this. “Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye.”

Grand Gold gave the party pony a bewildered look. Pinkie giggled knowing the poor stallion was probably confused as to what just happened. “It’s a Pinkie Promise.”

He was still unsure as to what Pinkie’s strange ritual was but he did understand that she just promised him that Trixie would be there.

“Thank you Ms. Pie. Tell Ms. Lulamoon that she’ll be paid very a very hefty sum if she accepts.”

Pinkie nodded, “You don’t have to thank me Mr. Gold; it’s my pleasure.”

Grand Gold raised an eyebrow, “You know Ms. Pie, you’re welcome to come too if you wish.”

“The more the merrier” Pinkie responded.

Grand Gold gave a low chuckle as he started to walk down the hall past Pinkie. “I look forward to seeing you at the after party.”

With their meeting fully concluded the maid lead Pinkie back towards the front door so that she could make her way to Trottingham to rest at an inn. Pinkie’s thoughts went to Trixie and how she was going to tell the showmare that she booked an after party show for Grand Gold and his wife. Pinkie was sure that she’d accept but she would probably need time to prepare. Pinkie shook her head and put a smile back on her face. She was sure that everything was going to be fine.
