“YOU WERE THE CHOSEN ONE!... I LOVED YOU!”
“Hah, gay.” Aria surfed the tube, while the ever-beautiful Adagio sat in the adjacent seat reading a book. “Hey, has Sonata swallowed her pills yet?”
“It was your turn tonight, Aria.” Adagio corrected. “Remember?”
“Oh... Cool.” She just sat there like a lump on a log, watching TV. Adagio huffed and got up, mumbling hate under her breath. “Thaaanks!”
She went to the cabinet and dug around for Sonata’s medication, but couldn’t find any for the love of her. “Now where did I put them.”
‘Bum-ba-dump!’
“...What the hell was that?”
“All I hear is your nagging, Dagi!” Aria groaned.
‘Ba-dump!’
“...Oh, you mean that?” Aria spoke out once again. “Yeah, I think we got rats down in the basement. Been thumping down there for a couple days now.”
“Grand...” Dagi brought out the broom and a flashlight. “You go kill them.” Then promptly threw both at her sister.
“Ow-Hey! Why do I gotta do it!?”
Aria leaned down and leered at her. “Because, Aria, I hate rats.” She grumbled with gritted teeth. “You forgot Sonata’s medicine, so you go kill the rats.”
Pissed that her TV time had been interrupted, Aria grabbed the equipment and trudged to the basement. Adagio sat down and continued where she left off. “Ahh... At least humanity has decent literature.
.....
.....
.....
Aria came back, much quicker than possible. “Hey, um, Dagi?”
“I don’t smell any dead rats.” Adagio noted, keeping her eyes glued to the paper
“Yeah, about that... What do I do with this kid?”
Adagio facially backpedaled, looking over to see a naked, malnourished young boy no taller than Aria’s leg. “Oh my good god!” She threw the book and rushed over. “Young man, why were you in our basement!? Where did you-“ He collapsed, slipping out of Aria’s hand. “Aria, call 911!”
“What about the rest of ‘em?”
“The what!?” Adagio’s face went pale. “Are we running a sweat-shop in our basement!? How many are down there!?”
Aria just shrugged. “Ten? A few of ‘em are kinda dead but-“
Adagio ran passes her, heading straight for the basement..... ”LORD HAVE MERCY!!!”
Right on cue, Sonata was walking down the stairs. She eyed the child in Aria’s hand and quietly took him in her arms, walking back toward the basement. “Oh, hi Dagi!”
“WHY ARE THERE CHILDREN IN OUR BASEMENT!?!”
Aria just sighed, going back to her chair and watching TV.
“Ten.” Adagio counted. “Ten, innocent young children...”
“Uh-huh.” Sonata nodded, following her words.
“...Why, in the name of all that is sacred, did you kidnap ten children, and chain them up in the basement with no food or water?”
“Becaaause...” She answered.
“Becaaause what, Sonata!?” Adagio demanded.
Sonata smiled. “I have a plan!”
.....
“And what pray-tell is this plan?” Adagio humored, borderline agitated.
Sonata, bless her heart, smiled still and answered. “I’m gonna use them as tribute to gain a favor from Satan!”
...........
“I read about it in a bible at the Satanic Church beside the McDonalds, apparently he gives favors in exchange for souls!” Adagio was pinching her brow. “So I thought, ‘if I could just get souls, I could get whatever I want!’ It’s full-proof!”
“Oh, of course it is! Except the part about Satan being completely made-up.” Shot down like a Korean missile. “Sonata, you’re my sister and I love you, which is why I’m telling you this.” She assured. “That plan is so flawed and out-right stupid that the chances of it ever succeeding are an absolute zero-percent.” That certainly put a damper on her mood. “I’m going to bed, okay? Take your medicine, do not sacrifice those children, and DO NOT let the authorities know that you kidnapped ten children.”
“Okaaay...” Sonata frowned.
“Good, now get some sleep. I have a plan to get you out of this mess.” Adagio left, closing the door behind her...
“Goodnight...” Sonata smiled... Because she had a plan. Hidden under her bed was the form of a bound child, and behind her back a crossed pair of fingers with a kitchen knife in her grasp. “Sleep tight~...” She got up and reached under, dragging the poor boy out and laying him on the floor along with a heavy black book. “The Book of Belial.” She opened it up, reading the text inside. “Oh, and don’t you worry either, Isaac... I’m using you as a sacrificial portal rather than an offering.” The boy could only cry in horror as the knife was raised, and swiftly brought down...
“Fly away, little angel... Fly away...”
The moon hung high in the sky, far past Midnight. Blood had stained Sonata and the walls of her room, along with the fresh blood of a virgin child. Sonata, with a velvet bag of black powder, had just finished the circle and pentagram. “Hmph, a lil messy but... Not too shabby.” Next she referred to the book, reading along with her finger and a candle. “Next... The gateway.” She took the bloody, bloody knife and raised it up high...
“O vicious Prince of Brimstone and Darkness, hear my beckon call! I demand an audience from the fiery void, enter through the portal of cardinal sin I have created and grant me your power!”
Then, she brought it down straight into her own heart. She gurgled a shriek through blood and spit, falling over as a lifeless slump while darkness consumed her vision...
.....
.....
.....
”I have heard your prayers...” A deep, booming voice echoed. ”Awaken, child of darkness... Awaken!”
Her eyes shot open! Knife still deeply embedded in her chest, oozing with her own blood. The entire room rumbled, the circle at the center of the room fading away into a thick cloud of smoke. “S-... Satan?”
”Yes...” The smoke condensed itself into an oval-esque shape, allowing yellow, piercing eyes to stare back at her from within. ”You offer unto me, the souls of ten virgin children... What is it that you seek, dark one?”
Sonata’s grin couldn’t be any more pure. “I want a taco...”
.........
“A infinite taco that never runs out, no matter how much you eat from it! Like in that cartoon I saw that had the infinite pizza!” The eyes stared back, unphased. “Can you grant me that, Mr. Satan?”
”Y-... Yes, ‘tis an easy feat.” He was starting to slip. ”But might I ask... Is that really all you desire, for your disturbingly generous donation of ten virgin souls?”
Sonata purses her lips and hummed... “What else can you give me?”
The smoke grew a smile, an evil smile filled with jagged, razor-sharp teeth. ”Anything, my child...”
Sonata scratched her head adorably. “Whataya recommend?”
Adagio lay sound asleep, the soft break of dawn entering from the bedroom window. Her clock read 5:34, just a half our away from-
‘Bang! Bang! Bang!’
Her eyes shot open. ”Adagiooo! I gotta show ya something!”
“GO BACK TO SLEEP, SONATA!” Her door had broken into pieces, the bellows of a blood-red lazer zooming just over her and disintegrating a hole through her bedpost. “What in the name of Starswirl...”
“I can fire LASERS! Satan gave me LASER BREATH!” Another laser, this one smashing through her window. “Look, look!”
“GO! TO! BED!” Adagio snapped... “Wait... Did you say Satan?” Looking up, she saw that Sonata now had coal-black skin and hair, fucking WINGS, and her eyes were lemon-yellow with black sclera below a sharp pair of demonic horns. “Oh... My god.”
“Best part, I got to keep my own soul as a bonus!” She did a little pose. “Aren’t I a cute lil demon~?”
Adagio... Just stared, completely shocked.
“The hell’s all the yelling for!?” Enter Aria, looking over Sonata. “What the hell happened to you?” Sonata’s response was her cheeks swelling up, and letting loose a wicked laser right over Aria’s head. “Whoaaa! Holy fuck that was cool!”
“I know!” More lasers were fired, Mainly in random directions. “I can do this all day!”
“No lasers IN THE HOUSE!!!” Adagio threw her clock at them. “I’M TRYING TO SLEEP!!!”
“...Hey Sonata, is Satan still around?” Aria asked. “I wanna fire lasers, too.”
“We gotta round up some children, first. We sell them, we get godly abilities!” Sonata informed, biting into a taco that magically regenerated itself. “C’mon, let’s gooo!” The two scampered off, leaving Adagio to the smoldering remains of her room and the smell of brimstone.
.....
She buried her face in her pillow and just... Slept the insanity away.
Author's Note
Remember kids, never sell souls to Satan. It is bad and you’ll make Celestia very upset if you do.
