Seeds Of The Past

Past

"Well done Sunset. Seems like you're improving really quickly." Celestia said. "One day you might even become a princess like us!"

Sunset was standing happy and proud in front of her. At the other side of the room guard and small Twilight watched.

"Will I be able to be a princess one day too?" akked Twilight.

"Well one of you will most likely be a princess!" guard replied.

"One of us?"

"Well kid, they don't make anyone a princess but I feel like they might add another one this time."

"Another ONE" Twilight whispered to herself.

Present

"Give her back!" Sunset was dead serious.

"And what if I won't?" princess Twilight replied.

"Then you'll see how powerful true friendship can be!"

"HA! I know more about friendship than you! After all I am the princess of friendship!"

"Then you should know how powerful it is and that we can defeat you and save Sci Twi!"

"Oh but I have a similar power with me right now!" Twilight pulled out all six Elements of Harmony. All gasped in shock.

Past

Small Twilight was sitting in front of a mirror in her room.

"I wanna be a princess too!" she told herself. "I always wanted to be one. I can be the best and manage to become one!" she was happy with the choice she made about being a princess.

Present

"How did you get them all?" Sunset was shocked.

"Yeah aren't they saving Equestria from being covered in vines and chaos?" Pinkie from Equestria added.

"Wait, are there two Pinkies..." Twilight stopped. "Nevermind. The tree can survive a little bit without the Elements."

"And how will you even activate them? If I remember correctly you need your friends too." Sci Twi noticed.

"I'll combine them all and put them on." she did as she said and put all Elements on her, she turned into a monster similar like Sunset did at Fall Formal.

Past

Few years passed from when Twilight decided she will become a princess. She tried her hardest but Sunset was always much better.

"And the award for the student of the year goes to..." Celestia proudly said. "Sunset Shimmer!"

All ponies in the room clapped. All but Twilight.

"Again?" she whispered to herself. "Nothing I do is ever good enough. Sunset is always the better one."

Present

"Twilight please, it's not too late. I don't want you to get hurt." Sunset said.

"No! You were always trying to get better than me, trying to take away my dream of becoming a princess!"

"I never did any of that! You think I wanted to be a princess? I wanted to travel the Equestria, explore new lands, meet new friends!"

"Then why did try so hard beating me up and being the best? Only explanation is that you wanted to be a princess!"

"Only explanation YOU saw for that was that someone wants to be a princess! You were few years younger than me, you maybe got it wrong, got jealous. I never wanted to hurt you or take away your dream!" Sunset explained. "I studied hard and tried my best because I love learning and magic, I wanted to know as much as I can!"

"UGH, you're lying!"

"No, I am not! And even if I wanted to be a princess why did you have to ruin my whole life? Why did you say it was me?"

"It was the only way!"

Past

Twilight was crying in the library.

"I'll never be good enough."

She passed by an open book.

"Sometimes the only way to win the competition is to destroy the competition." Twilight read out loud. "Hmmm..."

She didn't know that was said by an antagonist of the book and that whole point of it was to not do that. She was a kid who wanted to win so badly.

Present

"No, it wasn't the only way!" Sunset yelled angrily as memories hit her.

She took a deep breath then continued. "What's done is done, please stop now. I understand you may have thought I was taking your dream away, I understand you may thought it was the only way... but that's all behind us now. Besides I found a place where I belong here, the person I love. Why don't we just start again, as friends. Real friends."

"No!"

"You should really invent new element of empathy, Shimmer! You really have a big heart!" Rainbow added.

Sunset sighed sadly.

"I'm sorry it has to come to this Twilight!" Sunset said and held hands with all the other girls.

Past

Sunset was crying in front of Celestia and others. Twilight was spying from a safe place.

"How could you do that Sunset? How could you steal the magical object and try to bring back Sombra?" Celestia was disappointed.

"It wasn't me! I swear it wasn't me!" Sunset cried.

"All the evidence show at you." Celestia took a deep breath. A tear went down her face. "I have no other choice but to ban you, Sunset Shimmer, to the mirror portal into the unknown!"

"No! Please no! It wasn't me! Please!"

They took Sunset to human world.

"Oh no, what have I done?" Twilight whispered.

Present

"Aren't you missing someone?" Twilight said as Sci Twi bit her hand. "OUCH!" Twilight let her go and Sci Twi ran to her friends.

"Okay I can't believe that just worked." Sci Twi was suprised and took Sunset's hand.

They all started glowing and a rainbow shot from them. Magic shot from Twilight too.

Discord and Cherry came out and were shocked.

"Oh no! This is so intense! I can't even..." Discord was in panic.

"Pft I am sure princess Twilight will win!" Cherry said.

"We'll see about that!"

Both of their magics competed on who will win, Discord and Cherry were just watching and cheering for their friends.

Suddenly one of the magics shot pushed the other one harder and beat it.
