If Harold had to describe the battle in front of him with a single word, awesome, cool, epic, incredible and impressive, weren't that word. To Harold it looked like one of those Jackie Chan movies, the one where he was drunk to his ass and he somehow managed to fight every single enemy off without a scratch. It was ridiculous! Four Changelings jumped at Muffins to gang on her but end up colliding with each other when she tripped and fell, then she knocked one more when she got up and head-butted it.

The brawl continued like that for a couple more of minutes while Billy watched mesmerized how the gray mare avoided and returned damage to the bug PokePon with an innocent and yet evil smile, a similar expression was set in the little unicorn as her master but Harold was not as immersed as the others and noticed when some of the Changelings turned their attention at them. "Billy? Bud? I think we need to get the heck out of here, like, pronto!".

"Eh? Oh yeah, right, come Twilie, I'll introduce you to her later, let's go!". Before any Changeling could get close to the retreating teens Muffins blocked their path with her wings fully extended and a vicious growl that somehow sounded more cute that threatining.

As the kids ran away the sound of fighting decreased but somehow the buzzing remained. "Are... they... still... behind... us?". Asked Harold afraid of stopping or turning around to see.

"Sounds... like it!". Billy could hear them, some most have managed to pass through Muffins but he doubted that she was in trouble, the boy knew just how tough the gray pegasus could be, but for now it was them that were in danger.

"Stop! Harold stop!".

"What! Why? What's going on?".

"We can't keep running with no direction or we'll end up lost inside this forest! We need to see where are we heading". The buzzing grew louder, at the distance a few shining eyes could be seen approaching.

"Quick! Pull out your Ponydex and check or position while we deal with the Changeling".

"Ok, you got it, Pinkie, give them a hand". The pink PokePon took a look to her little legs with confusion. "Hooves I meant hooves, I'm not an expert in equine anatomy, ok?". After been explained Pinkie took place next to her fellow PokePon.

"Get ready girls, here they come!". As Billy shouted the first two Changelings landed and the battle started.

"What the heck?!". Exclaimed both trainers at the same time. Pinkie proceeded to use Twilie's move, shocking the trainers even more.

Soon after Pinkie finished her move, the little horn shrunk and vanished like it never was there, even the little lavender unicorn was shocked by her weird ally who acted like she just did something normal and mundane.

"Don't know Harold, but... if I have to bet in something, I'll say that was her special ability". Harold used his Ponydex in Pinkie to check her.

Special ability :
Pinkie Pie's Sense-make-nonsense. At random turns Pinkie Pie can copy and reproduce a move done by another PokePon during the battle, the move act in the same way that the copy and is not affected by type of PokePon, sex, experience or element, Pinkie require one turn to prepare the move.

"Wow, that sounds awesome and complicated at the same time".

"And you sure this is it?". Asked a very skeptical Rosemary to the shop owner after she and Dan demanded the special package. The owner gave them a box which was rather light.

"Special package for Prof. Zack M. Dickson from Yurtown, for the first team that arrives, that should be you, right?" Asked the old man and the teens nodded. "Then that's it, oh also tell that old crook that next time he send kids to pick this kind of stuff from my store to inform me in advance and I don't mean 1 hour before".

"This kind of stuff? What could be inside the box?".

"Let's check it out" said Rosemary almost snatching the box from her male companion.

"No no no, we could be disqualified if we open the package without permission!"

"Oh, you're no fun, so... what do we do now".

"We should go back to the PokePon Center and check on our friends, they should be all patch up by now". The couple of trainer walked back to the Center just chatting a long the way, when they finally got inside they run into two familiar faces. "Ah you made it! Good to see you girls!". Dan waved to Jenet and Emma who were just coming from leaving their own PokePon with the nurse in charge.

"Glad to see you too, we just got here and we're about to pick our own special package, oh I see you got yours already". Emma said looking at the brown paper box in Dan's arms.

"Yeah, we went to the place the Prof. told us and talked with the owner, we were surprised by how simple it was the pick up".

"I see, well guess is our turn, let's go Jen".

"Hold on, Dan, was it? What about the other two, Red cap and the Professor's grandson, have you seen them?". Asked Jenet.

"Oh oh you mean Billy and Mandy?". Asked Rosemary.

"I think you got one wrong in there Rosey".

"Whatever, have you?".

"Hm no, no we haven't, wasn't one of them unconscious?".

"You're correct Dan, I think it was the boy with the red cap". Emma commented.

"No, he was awake when they left town, hmm we didn't saw them in the route we took so chances are they either took the same way as you did or...".

"The... the forest... but that's crazy, that forest is infested with Changelings, a lot of them".

"Oh dear, I hope they are ok, what do we do Jen?". Emma asked concerned.

Jenet reminded silent, it was her who started the conversation but she didn't wish to lose her chance to get her license for helping someone else. "We... we go for our package, then we come back for our PokePon, if they haven't show up by then we let his Grandfather know".

"Almost... there!". Harold yelled as they approached the exit, the sea of trees was less abundant and the daylight had a better time leaking through the thick canopy of the trees. When the boys were around the last meters the sound of breaking branches force them to stop, within the last meter two figures landed.

The first one was the gray pegasus mare, Muffins, the second one was another Changeling but unlike the previous ones this one was taller, his carapace had more spikes on in and it surface was less smooth and more rough.

"What's that?!". Asked Harold more nervous.

"An adult Changeling! That's how they look before evolving".

"Ca-can Muffins take on that one too? It look meaner".

Billy smiled and patted Twilie's head. "you're about to look for yourself. Go Muffins!".

Ditzy Doo's No mind no pain. This ability prevent the PokePon from receiving recoil damage from its own attacks but it can still suffer from status alignment.

"I think the whole hive is awake now, let's get out, even Muffins will get tired if we are caught off again".

"Twi twi". The little unicorn agreed. With Muffins guarding their retreat the two trainers finally did it out of the dense forest and the entrance to Brentwood was just up a head.

While Harold conversed with his Pinkie Pie Billy took Twilie and presented her to the gray pegasus. " Muffins I want you to meet Twilie, my first PokePon, Twilie, this is our heroine Muffins, she's my Grampa's PokePon".

"Doo Doo". Muffins rose her hoof for the little unicorn to bump it with her own, after some pause and with nervousness Twilie did it.

"Twi". It was a cute moment for Billy see his little partner so amazed.

"Muffins is pretty strong isn't she, if you put your effort I promise that you'll be just as strong as her one day, right Muffins?". Muffins nodded with vigor. "Thanks for coming to our rescue Muffins, we would have been toast if it wasn't for you".

"Doooo". The mare jumped on the air and landed with a happy tune knowing that she saved her little human friend.

"Would you like to come with us to the PPC so they can heal you?". Muffins thought for a minute but in the end she shook her head and did signs with her wings, first pointing toward Yurtown then rubbing her belly while licking her lips with gusto. "Oh, you're right, Grampa will heal you faster with his special muffins that you love so much, well, thanks again, we'll be back soon".

Muffins saluted with her wing to the boys and then offered another hoof bump to Twilie which she accepted with less shyness, after that she trotted to Pinkie and ruffled her mane with her wing getting giggles from the pink PokePon, she then took flight and was gone, flying erratically through the sky.

"You don't know the half of it, while my Grampa do like to research PokePon, there's just a few that he takes any interest in, out of that few, Muffins is the undisputed top so he trained her to be invincible ever since he got her, so far she is undefeated".

"Seriously? Hm I do remember read about a pegasus underdog that mopped the heck of many Pro and Elite trainers, could she be the one?".

"Hm, don't know, maybe I'll ask him when we go back, but for now we are behind the rest, we need to pick the package and heal our friends in the PPC".

"Ok, let's go Pinkie!".

"Come Twilie, I'll carry you". Billy kneeled and the filly jumped at his arms. Soon the two were making their way to their next destination. As they turned into a corner Harold collided nose to nose with Dan. "Haaaa!".

"Ouch!". Billy helped Harold back to his feet.

"Oh oh look! Look Dan! Its them! Harold and Kumar!".

"You got one wrong again". Dan said as he also got up rubbing his nose. "We were about to look for you near the exit of the town but you best us, how did it go?".

"Horrible! First I was knocked out by the gray pegasus then my Pinkie ran way with my Ponydex, then we got lost inside the forest and we're chased by a bunch of hatchlings but got rescued by Brownie-".

"Muffins".

"Yeah, Cupcake, then we have a PokePon battle and won and escaped, all while looking cool and not crying because bugs scare me". Everyone, even Rosemary was left silent after the whole story was told by Harold. " Ah I also got one Changeling".

"What? When did you caught it?". Asked Billy surprised.

"When you were distracted watching the Boss fight, poor thing was hiding behind a tree and when I saw it I couldn't resist his lonely look, so I captured it, look!". Harold threw his Cuve and a small Changeling hatchling appeared covered in black chitin and with opal colored eyes.

"Wow, let me see". Billy pulled out his Ponydex and scanned the little black insect PokePon.

Changeling, The bug PokePon. Changelings start out their lives as Hatchlings with small bodies protected by a strong exosqueleton, as they grow up the armor becomes harder and the Hatchling turn into an adult, most Changeling prefer to live in hives but sometimes one individual would ventures out into the open, those individuals may get the chance to start their own hive.

As soon as the scan finished the little insectoid ran away hiding behind Pinkie. "Nice uh, I'll call him Thorax, the brave". After confirming the name Rosemary laughed.

"Not bad Harold, Changelings can learn poison and dark attacks, it could be a very effective PokePon". Said Dan impressed. "I wish we could have catched one too, but our starter PokePon are awesome". Dan took out his Cuve and dropped it in the floor revealing a snoring Rainbow Dash. "Well, they're pretty cool when they are awake".

"Hey check mine out!". Rosemary did as Dan and out came her orange earth PokePon. Unlike Dan's Dashie, Rosemary's Jackie was fully alert and walked to kick the sleeping blue pegasus getting giggles after seen the pegasus reaction.

"Oh, and you got an unicorn". Said Dan as he checked Twilie.

"Yes, she's pretty cool too, which remains me that I need to take her to the PPC for treatment".

"And pick up our package too".

"Ok, we got ours already and the other girls were behind too so chances are that you'll see them, anyway good to see you in good shape, we can chat more back in the Professor's".

"Ok, take care you two".

After departing it took just a few more minutes for the two male trainers make it to the PPC were they left their companions for recovery. As Harold took the chance to use the restroom another meeting happened.

"It seems that we all did it here". Billy looked up from his Ponydex to find a girl dressed in pink observing him. Billy's mind clicked and recognized her.

"Emma right? Dan told us that we may run into you, nice to see you". Emma smiled and took the handshake that the boy offered. "You're Jenet's partner, right?".

"Indeed, she's using the lady's room right now, we are about to depart, it's almost 3pm already".

Billy sighed. "That late uh, we haven't picked our package yet".

"Well you still have time as long as you don't take the same route as you did before, oh look our friends are coming back". Indeed, Harold was back and accompanied by the girl in green.

"Yo! Look who I found".

"Hey Jenet, Emma told me you girls are about to head back". Jenet only nodded at the question apart from throwing a quick look at the boy in blue.

"Well, we're glad that you made it here but we have to be on our way, we'll see you back in Yurtown, don't be late, let's go Jenny". Jenet nodded one more time and did an awkward try at wave good bye.

After watching them leave aboard the pinkiest bicycle ever Harold spoke first. "She totally digs me".

"No, well, maybe she too want a piece of this PokePon master but no, I'm talking about greeny there".

"Yeah, you saw her, she was devouring me with her eyes and the way she talked to me". Harold said smiling like if it was an old precious memory.

"Dude she barely spoke to either of us and besides, we're behind everyone else do hold your Romeo self until we catch up". Billy got up and went to the front desk to ask if their PokePon were ready to go.

After the nurse came back with their companions the duo did their way to the store. "Ok, this should be the last one for that old son of a gun, oh by the way I found some extra potions for trainers and since I got more that expected how about a good discount, will you be interested?". The two trainers looked to one another and smiled at their luck.

After a good business they were back in the road outside Brentwood. "So do we take west or south? Cus there's no way I'm going back in there!". Said Harold while pointing to the dense forest.

"West is too long without a bike so... South".

"South it is then! Pinkie, Thorax march on!".

Billy followed behind. "Let's go Twilie". The lavender unicorn nodded and trotted in front of her trainer, the road through the hills wasn't so bad but it did took a toll on the little PokePon, after a while Billy took his tired Twilight and put her in his shoulder, Harold tried the same with Pinkie but she jumped over his head instead and nested in there against protest from him, Thorax meanwhile learned to use his little wings and soon he was hovering over the ground .

As the clock marked 5:15 the last two trainers in training finally arrived back at the Professor's classroom, the teens found the place changed from when they left, the chairs were gone and in its place there was a large table with 6 large capsules, the professor was using his computer while the last two kids arrived.

"Good good, about time, ok please, place the 3 packages in my desk and step back". The 3 teams did as the professor instructed and waited while the old man inspected the boxes, after finding the boxes in proper condition and still intact the old man nodded in approval.

Billy, who knew of his Grandfather's quirks and tendencies started to figured out what does boxes contained. "Grampa? Is that-?".

"Na na na na! Keep your business to yourself kid, you may have made it in time but you can still lose points and fail". Billy shot up immediately . "Good boy, ok, everything is in order so now let's get this over with". All six teens lined up to better heard the old man. "Jenet and Emma, you did arrived first and brought the package with a total of 4 PokePon registered and 2 new captured, therefore, you will have the first pick".

"First pick?".

"Correct, I received 6 new PokePon eggs for study and what better way to hatch them that to give them to you to take in your journey".

"Fo-for real? PokePon eggs, wow!".

"Cool!".

"Oh my gosh!".

"Yes I know yara-yara-yara! Now please pick one so I can finish this torture, ok as I name you step forward and present your starter PokePon as well as present your Ponydex to me". All kids nodded with excitement.

"First Emma Wilkins". The pink dressed girl stepped forward with Rarity in her arms and Ponydex in hand. "Good, let's see, hm a Rarity, not bad, you have choices my dear, unicorns offer many tricks and options wherever in battle or in the show business, just treat her well and be ready to expend s lot of money in hair products but I think you can afford it, here's your Ponydex". Emma took it. " It had been already registered for your use only and it also works to prove that you are officially a PokePon trainer, congratulations for today and I hope you help expand the knowledge of all PokePon around the world!". Everyone clapped as the old man presented her with her device.

"Now, chose one of this capsules and take the egg inside".

Emma looked to all the capsules and chose the one at the very right end. When Emma touched the capsule a popping noise came from inside and the capsule opened revealing a smooth looking egg, it was almost entirely black except for the tip which was silver colored. "Not bad, when it hatches it will give you some challenge at the beginning but I'm sure that you can handle it just fine".

After thanking the professor Emma went back with the rest holding her new egg. "Jenet Morgan, step forward". Jenet did as told and presented her Fluttershy. "You have a tough way ahead Miss Green, but if you are as tenacious as you are stubborn then you'll have this in the bag, feel proud of been a PokePon trainer and always look forward to new discoveries". The rest applauded. "Now girl, take one for you".

Jenet went directly for the egg located at the left center. As before, following a popping noise the capsule opened, inside the capsule the egg had a different shape, unlike the oval one in Emma's capsule, Jenet's was more round looking with two different tones of blue mixed randomly, Jenet took the egg and was surprised when she felt the egg soft and fresh surface against her skin.

"Ho ho! This seem promising, young lady, this is a siren egg, there's just a few around given for training and you got one, I hope you have fun raising her". Jenet kept a poker face while taking her egg but inside she was screaming with joy for receiving such a rare opportunity.

"Alright, now then second place, with 3 PokePon registered and also the package, Rosemary and Dan! First Rosemary Ark". The girl in orange got closer and presented her Jackie to the Professor. "Ah, an Applejack, you have pretty good luck getting her first, she is pretty obedient and smart, a good PokePon to get your first glimpses of how the life of a trainer revolves, now then young lady go forth and on to adventure and wonder!". The claps from their friends came next.

"Now, like before , chose a capsule". Rosemary looked around like a little kid in a candy store, until she chose the capsule in the center right. The egg inside was smooth and white with a single blue strip zigzagging around the middle.

"Hmm I see potencial in there but somehow I feel like you can do it, congratulations".

"Hey, another one! I'll call it Shelly since you are hard skinned."

"That's just the surface Rosey". Dan corrected his friend in vain since the girl was happily swinging her PokePon and the egg around.

"I feel sorry for those two, specially the egg".

"Aaaaples appbleeewah!".

"Ha! Jackie threw up over me! I think she's been poisoned!".

After cleaning the mess on the floor and a chance of clothes provided by Emma for Rosemary the ceremony continued. "Thanks Em for the clothes, I like pink too but you take it to insane levels, plus is a bit tight around my boobs". Said Rosemary while tugging the collar of the blouse to get more room for her chest.

"Perhaps you would like to dress back in your barf covered clothes if mine are to much for you dear". Said Emma with a cold but polite tone that send chills down every spine in the room expect her intended target.

"Nah, I'm ok, thanks again". Said the girl cheerfully.

"Ahem, let's continue, Daniel Biggs get moving". The boy dressed in yellow approached. "Let's see, oh, a Rainbow Dash, well kid, I hope you have the patience of a saint, otherwise you're both doomed, but if you manage to get this little rascal in top shape I can see her as part of something big, no, huge, so don't despair and good luck". The class applauded.

"Now you know what to do". Dan nodded and moved over the capsules taking the one in the far left. The capsule popped open and inside was an brown egg with dark brown spots. "Excellent, while many trainer consider the intellectual type to be bad for battle, you my boy have the chance to prove them wrong with this one".

"So you know what I got, please tell me".

"Of course I know you chub! You think I did where I am by not knowing shit about PokePon from birth and beyond? When you know so much as I do all you need is a tiny look and you know everything, oh and no I'm not going to ruin the surprise so wait until it hatches".

"Now the lose-I mean the last team, 5 PokePon registered and 1 new one, not bad, your package is ok too so you just barely did it, anyway congratulations I suppose, now Harold Martinez come over here". Harold walked in front of the adult presenting his Pinkie.

"Ok, hmm, may God have mercy of your soul, now pick one capsule".

"Hey! Where's my inspirational speech!".

"Kid, I just did, you got a Pinkie Pie, not much I can do but to trust that you have insurance and the Lord's blessings and that's it, now move a long".

"Ok ok geesh! Ok I'll take this one". Harold took the one in the right. The capsule contained a egg with intermixed waves of purple and light purple.

"Hmm, yeah, now I doubt even all the Gods out there can help you kid, I hope you had a good life".

"Why do you keep saying that!". More scared that never before Harold went back to his place in the middle of total silence. Dan was about to clap but Billy stopped him.

"And now to end this, the last trainer, William J Dickson, come forward". Billy did so and presented his Twilight Sparkle. "A Sparkle eh, not bad kid, it may look simple enough to train her but you'll find out soon enough how laborious of a task it is, still, not all is lost to you, you got my genes somewhere there inside you, I hope you use them properly, now then, the last one is all yours".

Billy resisted the sting that came to his eyes while the rest of the room stood quiet after the talk, not even Dan moved this time, Billy clenched his hand into fists and touched the capsule, after the all too familiar noise the capsule opened and the egg became visible, the professor was true at his previous statement for as soon as he saw the egg he recognized it and laughed. "Your luck keep surprising me Blue! To think that you'll get one right now, hahaha, ah but you better be careful, if you don't take good care of that one, you may get... burned". The last word was almost a whisper, Billy turned to see the egg and took it. Heavy like a rock, hard as stone, it's surface was rough and bumpy, almost like scales, went in arms Billy felt heat coming from the inside like a stone that was left under the sun for hours, finally it was its color, a clear purple accompanied by a small green triangles, Billy got a dragon PokePon.

There you have it, full names, extra characters and even some drama (yeah right). Anyway, I still have to deal with the element factor of the battles as well as other tiny details that probably are gonna come back and bite me in the ass if I don't deal with the fast enough.
