Case "Sour" Sweet - 4 'Sweetness Rising'

"Hello Mr. and Mrs. Sweet," You said catching the attention of the family and swinging around in the chair to meet them face to face, "I'm the teen detective from Crystal Prep. We need to talk about your daughter."

You pulled out a bottle of the estrogen you found in Sour Sweet's medicine cabinet.

"How did you..." Sour exclaimed with wide eyes.

"Your good friend Indigo Zapp informed me of the situation she found your room in and I rushed down here," You half lied out of fear that Indigo Zapp might be overhearing your conversation.

"Just what is it you want to chat about my daughter for?" her father asked getting defensive.

"You have two options, you either tell me, straight forward what the hell is going on, or I'm going to have to get ugly with you just to get the information I want out of you just like I did with Cinch," You firmly asserted.

"And tell us why we shouldn't just call the cops?" her mother asked reaching for the phone.

"Because one, my mom and dad are active cops that can easily bail me out of trouble," you said making her stop reaching for the phone and retract her hand, "And two, you really don't have much of a choice. I will get the information I want out of you one way or another, so take a seat you three, and start, talking." You reasserted with the family.

Complying, each one sat down on one of the nearby two couches with Sour Sweet sitting by herself.

"I'm gonna ask you two a few questions, and your job is to either reply with yes or no, go it?"

"Yes," they replied softly.

"My first question, is your daughter on estrogen, progesterone, and anti-androgen?"

"Yes..."

"Alright. The second question, do you know about your daughter's recent actions in regards to acting stranger than usual and... holding her lower section during anatomy?"

"Yes..."

"Is there a secret Sour Sweet's been keeping from the school, AND her friends?"

"Yes..."

"Will you explain just what it is?"

"No,"

"And might I ask, why not? What exactly would Sour Sweet get from keeping whatever it is a secret? All you're doing by making her keep it is hurting her friendships with Indigo, Sugarcoat, Sunny Flare, and Lemon Zest. I've not had the chance to talk to Sunny Flare yet, but knowing how close those two are? I'm more than certain she'll give me the story I need to come to the conclusion myself. If you really wanna be of any help to your daughter at this moment, you'll tell me just what this secret is so I can spread it across the school and stop her from embarrassing herself further,"

"Go ahead and get Sunny Flare to talk, whatever conclusion you get will be incorrect-"

"Currently, my theories are either your daughter's experiencing some form of epiphany of having memories from being a male after transitioning, or she's a trap. No beating around the bush, I'm right on the money with those theories now, aren't I?" You said catching the parents off guard, "I am right, aren't I? Those two theories are right on the money."

"How..." Her father growled.

"Maybe you should start telling your daughter to stop grabbing her freaking crotch like as if she was having a whiplash attack while in the middle of freaking anatomy class of all classes," You answered, standing up and making Sour Sweet's father recluse back to cowering before sitting back down.

"Who... hired... you..." Sour Sweet herself asked.

"Your friend Sugarcoat asked me to look into this. Your friends couldn't get you to crack and neither could the guidance counselor so I was their last hope of getting the job done, and I'd say from the reactions I'm getting, I'm getting closer to the truth aren't I?"

The room fell silent.

"I am, aren't I? Well, it's getting late, I need to head back to the office for now. Thank you for your time," You said as you got up.

You left the house and was met with Indigo Zapp on the sidewalk.

"Get the information you wanted?"

"Why can't you just leave me alone..." You went as you started to walk away only to be stopped by her.

"Why? Because our destinies are intertwined, detective. One day, we'll find ourselves face to face, only one of us can exist at the same time, you know us being together in the same city just isn't possible,"

"Then why don't you just kill me now, eat my liver, and get it over with," You growled.

"Because it's not your time yet,"

"What the hell does that have to do with anything?!"

"Our time to fight will come, detective. All you have to do is just wait it out," Indigo said as she headed for her motorcycle.

"Why did you eat your parents?" You hollered out to her, making her stop, "There was no reason for you to do such a thing, just why did you do it?!"

"You know what they say, detective," Indigo Zapp replied as she got on her Motorcycle, "History can repeat itself."

And with those final words, Indigo Zapp rode away.

"History can repeat itself...?" You said to yourself.

It didn't hit you until the taxi trip back home, but Indigo must've been trapped in a cave with her parents and had no choice but to eat them, only this time she enjoyed it thanks to re-found taste for flesh. But what was she going on about in meaning your fates were destined to clash? You decided not to dwell on it and pushed it into the back of your mind as you reached home and headed back to your office. There, you put up your newest notes on the board and took off the theory of her possibly being a female to male transgender as the estrogen and confirmation by her parents disproved that theory altogether.

But, noticing it was getting dark you decided to close up shop for today and head to bed. While you didn't have any nightmares about the faceless creature anymore, now you had nightmares about cannibalistic Indigo Zapp. You would awaken the next morning... with your bed wet. You sighed in embarrassment and put on a new pair of undergarments before dressing yourself and taking your dirtied bed sheets to the laundry chute.

You heard the doorbell ring and went down to see who it was, but one look out the peephole had you opening the door faster than you could think.

"Sour Sweet?! What are you doing here?!" You ask as she came inside.

"My dad said that if you REALLY wanna know what's going on with me, you're gonna have to wow yourself into my pants," Sour Sweet groaned.

You stuttered in utter shock. There's no way...

"Th-this is a joke right?" You ask, "C-come on, nobody would ever seriously say that and mean it right?"

"He meant every word of it,"

"Look, I-"

"I know. You don't wanna start dating me, especially not after what happened with..."

You just looked away, eyes closed as a single tear crept down your cheek.

"I... I'm sorry... I shouldn't have brought that up... you're still sensitive about that subject, aren't you?"

You slowly nodded in response.

"Still, that's what my dad said. If you want to find out the truth? Wow yourself into my pants,"

"That's... not gonna be possible. I've not tried to get with a girl in a long time ever since Lightning Dust vanished..." You said, trying to keep Indigo Zapp's real intentions a secret to keep your family safe.

Hearing the phone ring you pardoned yourself and headed into the kitchen where you answered with a friendly hello, only to be met with the haunting voice of an all too familiar girl.

"Having some girl problems?"

"How do you know she's here with me..."

"I followed her all morning, and she didn't even know it,"

"Yeah... that's not... creepy... Why are you calling me?"

"I came to inform you, that you're never going to get Sour Sweet's parents to crack, you may have gotten them to spill the beans on the medication, but never will they tell the secret,"

"You know just what is it, don't you,"

"I've known for many years, but no one ever believed me when I tried to tell them about it,"

"And let me guess, you won't tell me either?"

"Where's the fun in telling you the answer when you can discover it for yourself?"

"How are you one step ahead of me?! What's going on?!"

"Spoilers. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna be having an old friend for dinner," Indigo said before hanging up.

"Indigo?! INDIGO?!"

You hung up in anger before rejoining Sour Sweet.

"Sorry about that, some sort of crazy on the phone," You lied before clearing your throat, "Well... anyways... I... honestly don't know where to begin."

"Hmph! Well, do you expect me to have an answer?!"

"I would think so considering you came all the way down here and threw this revelation upon me without any forewarning, thanks by the way," You sarcastically go.

"Well, what else was I suppost to do?! They thought this would steer you away from trying to learn the mystery, but I tried to tell them you'd go along with it!"

"Hmmm.... Ah! Ideeeeaaaaaa~" You went

"What do you mean?" Sour Sweet asked.

All that came upon your face was a sinister smirk.
