An hour later.Lonny and Big Mac drove back to Ponyville Barracks.And soon were upstairs in the squad room.Lonny and his partner/brother in law were at their desks,drinking coffee and eating doughnuts from the coffee room,that had been there since the morning.Both detectives were waiting for the victims to be run through Records and Indentification (R&I).And they were also waiting for Spy Glasses preliminary report and Vanilla Pudding's report.Since the cause of death was already obvious the autopsy was going to be done quickly.Lonny was reading the reports from patrol.Big Mac was on the phone.

Then Lonny's phone rang.He picked it up and said,"Ponyville Barracks.Williams......Yeah.......OK......You sure??.......And what about the second victim??.....Uh-huh.......Uh-huh......Anything else??......OK....Thanks."

Lonny hung up the phone and looked at Big Mac and said,"That was R&I.Nothing on the victims,not even a parking ticket,and the stallion,just got out of The Navy.6 months ago,and just got a job,with Equestria Airlines,as a mechanic."

Big Mac asked,"OK.And what about the woman??"

Lonny answered,"She's clean too.She was a teachers aid.At Princess Celestia's School of Magic."

Big Mac sighed and said,"Oh man.Yer Auntie aint gonna like this."

Lonny picked up his phone and replied,"Yeah.I know.Do me a favor Bro.Brief The Captain.I gotta make a call.It's better if Auntie Celestia hears it from me before she hears it on the 6 o'clock news."

Big Mac said,"Eyup",and went to see Captain Goldtalon.

After hanging up the phone.Lonny walked into Captain Goldtalons office.Goldtalon asked,"What did The Princess say??"

Lonny replied,"She's very upset that one of her employee's was the victim of a homicide,much less what could be a hate crime.She wants to see me tomorrow at The Royal Castle."

Goldtalon asked,"OK.So what's you're next move??"

Lonny replied,"Big Mac and have to notify the next of kin."

Goldtalon rubbed the bridge of his beak and replied,"The one part of the job.I always hated.And still do.OK.Do what needs to be done,then call it a day.Back at it tomorrow."

Both detectives nodded and left to do the one part of police work,nopony likes.Notifiying a family that their loved one was murdered.Lonny and Big Mac got into "The Jav" and made their first stop.

Saying the families of the victims took the news hard is an understatement.After Lonny and Big Mac were done making the notifications to 2 families,in Trottingham and Hoofington,and feeling akward asking the parents questions.Questions some would say were very disrespectful to the families who were now grieving,but it was part of the job.On the drive back to Ponyville Big Mac asked,"Brother??"

Lonny answered,"Yeah??"

Big Mac asked,"Do ya ever git used to it??"

Lonny replied,"Bro.The day I get used to it.Is the day I turn in my badge."

Big Mac said,"Eyup.Me too brother.Me too."

Soon both detectives arrived home at "Sweet Apple Acres".And both walked in the house and saw Granny Smith and Applebloom sitting in the kitchen.Applebloom hardly even touched her food.Lonny walked up to Granny.

Lonny gave Granny a peck on the cheek and said,"Hi Granny.Applejack not home yet??"

Granny replied,"No.Not yet dearie.She's still at the hospital with Pinkie.She called bout an hour ago.Said she'd be home late."

Lonny said,"I figured as much.Anyway.I'm gonna wash up for dinner."

Lonny went upstairs and washed up and changed out of his clothes and put on some sweats.When he came back downstairs.As he was heading to the dining room he saw Applebloom who looked a little sad.

Lonny asked,"Hey lil sis in law.What's on your mind??"

Applebloom asked,"Lonny.Is Pinkie gonna die??"

Lonny replied,"What? No Applebloom.Where did you get that idea??"

Applebloom said,"I saw on the TV bout them 2 people bein murdered and then they said that Pinkie was in the hospital."

Lonny hugged his sister in law and said,"Pinkie saw a horrible crime happen,right in front of her,and she I guess couldn't handle it,but Applejack and all her friends are gonna help her through it.So keep Pinkie in your prayers.It will help her alot.OK."

Applebloom smiled and said,"OK.Thanks Lonny.Yer a great brother in law."And gave Lonny a peck on the cheek.

Lonny replied,"Anytime Applebloom.No go wash up for dinner.OK?"

Appplebloom said,"OK Lonny"And ran off to wash her hands.

Big Mac came down and after applebloom came back from the bathroom.The whole family sat down,minus Applejack and had dinner.And after dinner relaxed around the front room.Around 11pm the family decided to all turn in.Big Mac,Applebloom and Lonny went to their bedrooms upstairs.Granny went her room on the first floor.Around 1am Applejack finally arrived home and quietly went upstairs to The Master Suite and Bathroom.Where the earth pony and her human husband slept.She saw Lonny sleeping peacefully in their bed.Applejack removed hair stetson hat,boots,dress,bra and panties.Replacing them with a nightshirt.As the earth pony crawled into bed,her husband turned and opened his eyes and saw Applejack.

Lonny said,"Hey hun."

Appljack replied,"Oh.Ah'm sorry if Ah woke ya hun."

Lonny said,"It's OK......"Pinkie??"

Applejack sighed and said,"No change.Officer Conners arrived a little while ago to keep an eye on Pinkie.Oh and Twilight's home."

Lonny replied,"So soon.I though she was gonna be gone till monday."

Applejack said, as the orange earth pony removed her clothes and put on a night shirt," Rarity called her and she and Spike flew home,and Shining Armor came with 'em.And he told me to tell ya,he wants ta see you and Bic Mac at the castle tomorrow mornin,say's it's important."

Lonny replied,"OK.Now my next question.How are you feeling?"

Applejack said sighing,"Not to good hun, seein Pinkie there in a hospital bed, and all."

Lonny understood and held his pony wife as she began to sob. Applejack only showed her sadness to her human husband. And whenever he hugged her. Applejack always felt safe, secure, and protected. From the time they first started dating right on through to the day they were married. Applejack could always count on Lonny, for anything. Applejack was feeling more at ease whrn she and Lonny fell asleep.
