Frightfully Generous
Honest Mistake
Load Full StoryNext ChapterRarity took in the rich night air of Ponyville with a delicate inhale, her ocean blue eyes sparkling much like flawless diamonds in the cozy quiet night. Stars decorated the heavens in a dance of twinkles and glitters. The moon basking the land below in a lovely pastel blue light, it was welcoming and calming to all lucky enough to witness it.
Rarity smiled to herself lifting a dainty hoof over her mouth politely as she allowed a giggle to escape into the night sky above. This was a near perfect evening to be completely honest, she had her pink colored lawn table set up femininely in her backyard.
Cute periwinkle colored tea cups were set up neatly on the surface as a plate of freshly baked glazed donuts sat in the middle deliciously. The scent of warm butter and homemade glaze wafting high into the air gently, napkins set beside her plate the only thing missing was the brew.
A melodic whistle sang proudly from inside her boutique as Rarity felt her ears perk up swiftly. Her tail swaying side to side as she joyously cantered into her place of work, the strawberry flavored tea an absolutely perfect compliment to her pastries this night.
The tiny unicorn meticulous with every delicate action she took, her warm blue magic lifting the kettle off her stove. Floating the sweet scented brew across the shop as if dancing to a silent melody. Rarity had not had a decent night inside like this in forever, a simple night of peace and quiet.
One she hoped secretly might last forever.
Cantering outside she took a moment to inhale the fresh scent of the night once more, filling her lungs with something lovely. Just as putrid scented webbing suddenly exploded out of the abyss of the night, encasing her whole muzzle in a horrible wet purple substance.
Rarity gagging behind her sudden muzzle trap, eyes burning a bright red while the scent of rotted eggs and curled milk worked their way down into her lungs. Her whole backyard engulfed in the horrible violet web, the sticky substance clinging over her table sickeningly.
Her cups intertwined high above in tiny cocoons of silk as even the donuts were being carried off into the void of darkness by dozens of tiny black spiders. Worse yet Rarity could only release a muffled scream in horror, at what had sat in her seat smugly.
A giant of a spider with periwinkle covering her from head to toe. Long silken hair that was as black as the night, tied into two matching bouncy pigtails upon her head with blood crimson ribbons.
Five large black eyes gazing deeply into her soul as pouty full lips curled into a devilishly wicked smirk. Two gleaming white fangs poking out to sparkle in the dim light of the night. She had six arms pushing out from her fashionable garments of a crimson twin romper, delicate back buttons lining the front in a sassy manner.
“My you're not what we expected!” The creature snapped a thin finger daintily, a tea cup falling into her grasp perfectly.
“Mm-hmm! Mm-hmm!” Rarity screamed in a panic a large claw of webbing lunging out from the dark, yanking the unicorn off the ground into the large web just above her open door.
“For a arachnid hater!” The young spider gave a feminine hmph, holding out her cup as the many spiders around her carried over the kettle, gently pouring her some fresh tea.
“Mmmmm! Mm-hmm!” Rarity squealed helplessly being spun by dozens of horrible spiders into a tight violet cocoon, her head poking out from the tip with eyes full of terror.
“But don't fret dear, you might hate arachnids but we'll love you! ~ Ahuhuhu!” The creature flashed her monstrous fangs deviously, flipping high into her web in search of prey.
She was exceedingly fast at transversing her sticky webbing, closing in on the sobbing pony caught in her trap with utmost ease. The creature enjoying the scent of fear dripping off her tears, purring aloud as her delicate touch brushed the violet mane of the equine to the side.
“You'll make a lovely smore, I think I'll use you as the marshmallow! ~ Ahuhuhu!” Her mouth opened extra wide the saliva trickling down her chin, eyes glowing with hunger.
Yet even as Rarity winced in agony from the devouring of her body, it never came nor did any pain from a bite for that matter. Rarity creaking open frightened eyes to see this odd creature reading a large white note in her hand.
“So this Chrysalis is like a villain?” The creature pouted in embarrassment, the tiny whispering of a spider at her side speaking in a unknown language to ponies.
“Hmm, this is highly embarrassing.” She sighed quickly plucking a single thread off Rarity's cocoon, the pony falling free to the ground below with a dull thud.
“I can breathe!!” Rarity gasped on her belly in frantic horror, her coat frazzled out and mane now beyond repair.
“Sorry about trying to devour you, my mistake!” The spider swung down to the equine’s level with a giggle, hanging from a delicate strand of webbing upside down.
“But why!?” Rarity could only scrunch her muzzle in confusion.
“We heard ponies had been beating up on a poor defenseless arachnid, from our land far beyond the seeing world!” The creature spoke in a eerie cosmic sense.
“So we came through a portal made by our delicious friend, to seek out justice most sweet!” The spider giggled as Rarity shook her head in confusion.
“You heard about our battles with Chrysalis?” Rarity questioned politely.
“Well not I personally, Annie heard it from Thomas who, heard it from Blake…” The spider suddenly glanced down to her tiny friend on her hand.
“Oh, he heard it from Jerry! My apologies.” She sheepishly blushed.
“Okay! Well Chrysalis is a villain so we simply defended ourselves, off back home then.” Rarity felt her voice detaching from reality, the world around her beginning to spin.
“Funny story our friend Alphys, told us the portal might not be ready to use! Something about being unable to retrieve blah, blah, blah!” The creature flaunted her hand flippantly in the air, a awkward silence filling the air between the two.
“Oh! Well…” Rarity folded her ears down as time around her came to a crawl.
“I was just going to eat you and use your home as a base, best not to count chickens hmm!?” She gave a small cough of pure embarrassment, averting all five eyes down to her feet.
“Indeed.” Rarity bit her lower lip.
“Oh well! Just need to find a cold dark cave to settle in...alone…” Those large five eyes lifted upward to Rarity ever so innocently.
“You and you're kin, wouldn't want to maybe stay here?” Rarity sighed in defeat as she let those fateful words fall from her lips delicately.
The spiders all giving a squee at once as soon hundreds of tiny spiders flooded into her boutique in a dark wave of black. The largest of them all suddenly pulling the pony in a grateful embrace with all six arms, squeezing her soft plush body firmly.
“That is beyond generous of you! My name is Muffet, charmed to make your acquaintance!” Muffet giggled with a beaming smile of gratitude, flashing fangs to her hostess joyously.
Rarity felt a cold shiver running down her spine.
Secretly wishing this night was over.
