A Late Night Stroll

Cantelrot Mississippi
It was a cool summer night, in the quaint and old town of Canterlot Mississippi, a nice place full of kind people. A few miles outside of town at Black County State Park was one of these nice folks. A young woman named Fluttershy, a teacher at Canterlot Middle School. She was short at about 5 feet 4 inches with thin with beautiful, soft yellow skin, and long flowing pink hair, she wore a bright blue sweatshirt with a pink heart in the center, blue jean cutoffs, white knee-high socks with pink stripes at the top, and black and white converses.
In her hand was a small LED flashlight brightening the path covered with leaves, and sticks but still, a noticeable line between the tall varying different types of trees blowing lightly in the calm and cool winds. These late-night walks helped her relax, Fluttershy had anxiety and seeing as she was a teacher she would also get very stressed, so she would volunteer at the local animal shelter, and go on long walks it at least helped her to embrace earth’s natural beauty. Her footfalls were light against the underbrush barely making a sound, noticing that the moon was now bright enough she turned off the flashlight and put it in her shorts pocket continuing forward
The only sounds on this trail being the cheerful chirps of the crickets and the frogs filling the air as Fluttershy hummed a merry tune as she walked down the long path that twisted and turned for three miles. Fluttershy stopped by a brown sign that was less than a foot shorter than her with “1.5” written on it in large white letters. She sat down on a nearby rock and removed her sweatshirt revealing her bright red tank top and her silver cross necklace around her neck. After she sat down she noticed that all the sounds had stopped, even the wind had stopped bringing an almost unnatural stillness to the forest.
She got off the rock and tied her sweatshirt around her waist and began to continue down the trail, having now quickened her pace. But as she walked she saw a strange glow from underneath some leaves, and a light buzzing sound filling her ears. She walked over and kneeled, brushing off the leaves and twigs, and pushing a few strands of hair out of her eyes. The strange glow was coming from an orange hexagonal crystal with a point on each end that gave off a feeling of warmth. She picked it up with both her hands feeling it’s comforting warmth in her palms and focusing her gaze on its beautiful glow.
Then, it grew brighter and hotter to the point she dropped it pain and watched it shoot into her chest. Before she could figure out what was going on she ran the other way, not stopping at all. She finally found her girlfriend Rainbow Dash’s car which she was borrowing while hers was being fixed. The car was a dark blue 1969 Chevrolet Camaro that looked brand new. She yanked open the door, practically threw herself in, and slammed the door behind her hyperventilating. After taking some deep breaths she looked down at the center of her chest and finding nothing, absolutely nothing as if it never happened she breathed a sigh of relief and drove home.
She drove in silence, and quite slowly as she didn’t know how to change gear properly her mind flashing to that moment and her questioning if it even happened to begin with. She finally reached the gravel driveway to her house, but before she could turn in she heard a loud gunshot and saw a red 2005 Chevrolet 1500 tear out of the driveway and skid almost into a ditch before speeding away. As they sped away from the driveway, a dark green Polaris four-wheeler pulled up to the edge followed by two gray pit bulls.
On the back of this four-wheeler was a tall and fairly large middle-aged man with a bald head with bits of black hair showing, a short but still fairly thick black and graying beard, a scar on his left cheek, and a marine corps tattoo on his right shoulder. He wore no shoes, a white t-shirt, and white and green striped sleeping pants and held a reproduction of a Winchester 1887 Shotgun, smoke still billowing out of the barrel
“Are you okay Mister Thattchir?” asked Fluttershy as she pulled up to him
“Yeah, I just wish Tony Richardson would get HIS DAMN KIDS UNDER CONTROL” screamed the man in his deep southern voice “Oh and you can call me Arron.”
Fluttershy paused and said hurriedly “I gotta go” before quickly continuing down the driveway.
This driveway had three houses on it, or at least two and a camper trailer, the closest to the end was the house her and Rainbow Dash were renting, a small single-story one bedroom, one bathroom house with a front porch. The next was an old bumper mount camper where Arron’s brother Blake Thattchir lived. He was three years younger than Arron being about average size and being 6 feet tall, he had a full head of brown hair and a long brown beard, this man taught at history for seniors at CHS.
At the end was a blue, two-story, medium-sized ranch house with a wooden shop next to it, in this house lived Arron, the Sheriff of Black County who owned a small construction company, and was married to the Principal of CHS, Principal Celestia. She parked in front of her house and shut off the car and walked to the front door and unlocked it. As she walked in she was immediately embraced by Rainbow Dash who was wearing a bright blue t-shirt, and pink underwear and had been sitting up watching TV waiting for her to get home.
“I was so worried babe” exclaimed Rainbow Dash happily.
Fluttershy just stood there awkwardly and subtly pushed her girlfriend away and took off her shoes, her socks, and removed her sweatshirt, and shorts before walking to the bedroom, Rainbow Dash following her closely. Little did she know of what horrors that night would bring upon her.

Canterlot Mississippi
Rainbow Dash walked into the kitchen to see Fluttershy at the table in a light green t-shirt that was a size too small and fit tightly around her. She clasping a cup of tea with both her hands' tiredness visible in her eyes.
“Hey, babe,” Rainbow Dash yawned and stretched her arms “you’re up early.”
“I couldn’t sleep,” said Fluttershy wearily “I had... a dream and I couldn’t get back to sleep” her eyes were wide with fear
“I noticed you got up, I just thought you went to the bathroom and fell back to sleep” Said Rainbow Dash walking over to Fluttershy. Rainbow Dash sat on the seat to her right before asking “Ya wanna talk about it?”
“N-no,” said Fluttershy looking away from her.
“Okay” Rainbow Dash got up, “I have to go get a shower before work anyway”
As Rainbow Dash walked to the bathroom the phone rang. Fluttershy sat her tea down and got up walking over to the phone.
"Hello, is Miss Shy there?" asked a sharp but fairly deep voice through the phone's speakers
"Y-yes, that's me, what is it?" Said Fluttershy
"Well Miss Shy your car is ready and you can pick it up any time today" The phone line clicked.
She sat the handset down and went to the bedroom and grabbed a pair of blue shorts with a white stripe down the side. She slipped them on and walked to their living room and sat down on the couch waiting for Rainbow Dash to get out of the shower, hoping she could ask her to take her there on her way to work. As she waited she heard the low rumble of a diesel engine.
She grabbed a pair of blue sandals and put them on, grabbed her purse and went out the door to see her neighbor Arron pulling up the driveway in his truck. His truck was a red somewhat rusted 1983 Ford F250 with a crew cab, There was an NRA bumper sticker on the bottom right side of the back window, a Trump 2016 sticker on the bottom left, and on the top center was a Don't Tread on Me sticker.
Behind the truck was a simple flatbed trailer with an old red and white, fairly small International Tractor with a rusted bush hog attached. Arron stopped and Fluttershy walked over to the driver-side, Arron was wearing a red and white short sleeve button up, faded blue jeans, brown work boots, aviators, a cross necklace, and a camo Bass Pro ball cap.
Arron rolled down the window and asked: "What do ya need Amigo?"
"C-can you take me... to the car shop, on the edge of town?" Asked Fluttershy
"Joey Spencer's? Well hell, I think I can swing by there, I ain't in a rush" Exclaimed Cheerfully.
Fluttershy walked over to the passenger side and opened the door. The truck had a bench seat covered in faded and torn black leather that appeared gray rather than black, the original stereo didn't work so he installed another one above it on to of the dashboard with a CD player, and there was a large crack that went about halfway across the windshield before curving downward. Arron pulled the truck out of the driveway and onto Highway 54 East to town
It was about twenty minutes later when they reached Canterlot Mississippi. Unlike most towns like Canterlot, it's downtown area was fairly safe and was full of people milling about doing their various things. They drove straight through downtown and to the edge of town, just off the interstate to Spencer's Garage. It was one of those old gas station and service station types of places it even had the old style gas pumps that were painted red but they also did oil changes and the like.
Arron pulled up in front of the garage where a man could be seen working on an old grey car. Arron shut off the truck and got out, Fluttershy following behind him.
"Hey Mister Spencer you son of a bitch how the hell you been ?" yelled Arron.
The man looked up revealing himself to be a fairly overweight man in a blue mechanic suit and square frame glasses with a bald head and a very short white beard, his face was fairly aged and was older than Arron. When he saw Arron he yelled:
"Howdy boy" in a fairly rough voice
They shook hands Joey putting a hand on Arron's shoulder.
"How ya been, kid?" asked Joey
"I've been doin' fine Joey, but my contacts are bugging me I might have to call Celestia over here to bring me my glasses"
"Speakin' o her, how's she and your kid doing?" asked Joey
"They're fine, but Amber has a stomach bug and combined with the fact Celestia's settin' up for the school she's been really stressed, I mean if Amber wasn't sick I wouldn't be pulling my truck out to Jerome's," said Arron while pulled out a somewhat damaged pack of Marlboro reds.
"Why are you heading to Mister Taylor's place with a bush hog?" Asked Joey looking at Arron's truck
"Well, Mister Taylor says his pasture is so overgrown he can barely see his cows, and his tractor won't work so I offered to bush hog while he works on his tractor despite how I tell him to get a John Deere or an International he's still bent on that shitty Kubota" Said Arron before lighting a cigarette with his silver Zippo flip lighter
"Uhm, Mister Spencer, I came for my car," said Fluttershy quietly before wincing in pain and holding her hand to her head.
"You okay Miss?" asked Joey looking concerned.
"Yeah it's just a headache," she said rubbing her head.
It wasn't just a headache, it was a searing out pain as if she were being stabbed at all angles from the inside of her brain. It felt as if it were slowly making its way to the rest of her body down her spine like a hat knife snaking through her spine. She looked at both of them and saw that they were very concerned.
"I have some Ibuprofen in my truck if you need any," said Arron blowing out a puff of cigarette smoke.
"N-no it's okay, can I just get my car?" asked Fluttershy before taking a deep breath and composing herself
"Well okay, it's sitting in the shop just head into the store and I'll be right with ya," said Joey before turning back to Arron
"I guess that's a sign I better get going so I'll talk to you later," said Arron before turning around and walking back to his truck.
Fluttershy walked into the small store section of the shop, it had a counter just left of the door with a drink refrigerator next to it. In front of the counter were two leather couches with large windows behind them. She felt some relief as she stepped in as the cool air of the air conditioner hit her skin, and it wasn't long before Joey walked into the store from a door that led to the shop.
Joey stood in front of a cash register with a credit card machine on top. He pulled out a calculator and began to type into while mumbling to himself.
"Alright that'll 150 dollars," he said
Fluttershy reached into her purse and pulled out her credit card handing it to him. He swiped it and handed it back to her and she walked outside to her car, a red 2010 Volkswagon Beetle that had just had it's oil changed and it's brakes fixed. She started the car and made her way back home, the pain now worse than ever and had now crept down her spine and into her shoulders and was slowly creeping down her arms and to the tips of her fingers, like lava through her veins.
She finally reached home, the pain had now spread down to her legs and it felt like she was being stabbed with every painful, slow step she took. She opened unlocked the door and fell onto the couch, not even taking off her shoes and fell asleep. It was freezing when she awoke, she was in her underwear and bra and was on the floor of an old one-room shack. There was a brick fireplace on the back just across from the front door, a wooden dinner table in the center, and a bed on the back to the left of the fireplace.
Then suddenly the sound of an old record player filled the room and the sound of I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry filled the small shack. Fluttershy looked over to where the sound came from and saw a record player sitting on the table. She let out a scream when she saw the thing standing next to it, it looked almost like a woman but it was horrifyingly thin, with gray pale skin covered in black spots, its eyes were hollow holes, and its hair was long, stringy and white and it wore a tattered dress.
She ran outside into a forest full of birch trees that went on seemingly infinite. She turned around and the shack had disappeared and there was just more forest. She looked down and saw an unmarked cassette and felt she should hold onto it, she began to walk for what seemed like forever with no change in scenery. Then a low rumble filled the cloudy skies and dark dark shadows marked the ground, the shadows of bombers, Fluttershy ran faster than she had ever before.
She burst into an open field, her legs were on fire and she could barely catch her breath, but the bombers were gone and the sky was no longer cloudy, the warmth of the sun caressing her skin. Then she saw something in the distance, it was a single tree, but she noticed that there were at two bodies hanging from them and what was worse was that they were the bodies of her and Rainbow Dash. She just stared until the whole world shifted into a black void with sounds of tormented screams all around.
Then she awoke with a scream alerting Rainbow Dash who had just walked in after getting off work.
"What's wrong?" asked Rainbow Dash softly after getting Fluttershy to calm down
"Another Nightmare," Fluttershy said in an almost whisper.
She hugged Rainbow Dash before they went to the bedroom to go to bed, But she wouldn't be sleeping that night.
