Friends on The other side
A warning in the forest
Previous ChapterNext ChapterKirouac was walking in the Forgotten Forest, followed from behind by Shifting-Surprise.
“Wait for me!” Surprise yelled out.
Kirouac turned back to face Surprise. “You can follow the prints my front claws left!?” He asked Surprise will pointing to both the claw and hoof prints he had left behind himself.
“I know that I can.” Surprise said will wiping the sweat that was accumulating under his Dark girl purple mane with his gold field dark pink girl hoove. “But I rather walk next to you.” He finished with a smile.
As the gentle breeze blew through Kirouac’s short green mane, with orange tips, he stretched his blue feather covered leathery wings. “Can you please give me some room, so that I can practice my flying?” He asked Surprise politely. He had always been following him everywhere ever since he had found him alone and starving in the forest. Kirouac hated how judgemental the ponies were, and how holier-than-thou attitude they had about none pony races.
The Kirin spread his wings and he flew through the forest as his halfling friend watched. Kirouac flew from tree to tree, looking at the animals that ran with family filling some jealousy towards normal looking creatures, but his intercession was interrupted when he spotted a green unicorn attacked by a group of manticores. With no hesitation, Kirouac leaped through the wind to help the poor pony.
“Thank the gods,” the green pony said. Kirouac noticed that the pony was without a fur, instead of coat he had green scales and his tail was the same, all scales and no fur, and he had claws on his front hooves. Kirouac blasted the manticore, scaring them away.
“Who are you?” Kirouac asked the small reptile pony with the black hat, hoping that he was also a dragon pony hybrid. “How did you get here?”
“I have heard of the country of MoonRacer, and all from the land of the ponies I have come to warn you.”
“Warn me about what?” Kirouac asked the unicorn. The pony was about to answer as Surprise came from the woods.
“Kirouac are you alright?” Surprise asked as he caught his breath, “I saw you diving here and I ran as…” Surprise stopped as he noticed the small green reptile that looked like a unicorn with a hat looking at him.
“A changeling halfling,” The reptile smiled, “I haven’t seen that kind long time, tell me are you one of Chrysalis’ hybrids?”
“NO!” Surprise said in disgust to hear changeling hag’s name. “Who are you?” Surprise asked the reptile.
“Of course, where are my manners, I am Dr. Mephist. I told your Kirin friend about a warning.”
“About what?” Surprise asked and raised an eyebrow.
“A warning about Equestria, I have come from the land that the ponies are ruling,” Mephist’s horn glow in green and the forest grew darker as shadows came from the ground in the form of seven ponies, all mares. Two unicorns, two pegasi, two earth ponies and one alicorn.
“The ponies took over other races, forcing them into their beliefs and destroying all that isn’t what they believed to be, there you must commit yourself into their beliefs or you will be an enemy of the country.” Mephist lighted his horn again and more forms appeared in the shadows, griffons, changelings, dragons and more, being abused and attacked by the seven.
“And why should we trust you?” Kirouac asked the reptile, “As all we know, you can be just as evil as the ponies you claim to be evil.” Surprise didn’t agree with his friend, he looked at Mephist and tears were in his eyes.
“You suffered the same aren’t you?” Mephist asked, “The ponies all about friendship, but when it comes to creatures like us, they would show only cruelty.”
Surprise nodded, “They never saw me as one of them.”
“Because you are not,” Mephist put a hand on Surprise’s shoulder, “You are superior, you are a pony and a changeling.”
“I cannot even transform,” Surprise replied.
“It doesn’t matter,” Mephist smiled, “You have potential, both of you. I ask you as an outcast, please help me stop this cruelty, please help me stop this madness, help destroy those ponies before they come here.”
“What do you propose?” Kirouac asked.
“Come with me to their land, and we will show them who really are the monsters.”
“So are you telling that this Dr. Mephist visited you in your dream last night?” Trixie asked Starlight, who was quite frightened looking, as the two mares walked among the ponies in Ponyville.
“I know what it sounds like, but this wasn’t a dream,” Starlight insisted, “It felt familiar.”
“Well,” Trixie put her hoof around her friend’s shoulder, “It doesn’t matter, because, in three days, the great and powerful Trixie will appear in the castle party for the great Nightmare Night!” As Starlight and Trixie laughed, Starlight noticed a hooded figure looked at her, and she was filled with fear.
