A Merpony's Adventure

It was a cold and wet spring morning as Selene was sitting on a bed reading a letter that was floating in the water in front of her. Her tail was wrapped around the bed as she tried to keep it out of her way. The crystals in Canterlot’s sanctuary were trying their best to keep out the cold chill. It didn’t help that the twins busted into the main room. Dusk was running ahead teasing his sister that he could outrun her. Celestial was trying her best to keep up in her wheelchair.

“Mom Dusk is teasing me again” Celestial whined.

“I am not” Dusk snapped. They both continued till they noticed Selene was staring at the floating scroll. Dusk looked towards his sister before moving in and touching their mother’s tail.

“Mom” his voice caused Selene to move the scroll and smile.

“Can I help you?” Dusk could see it in her eyes that she didn’t remember him.

“Mom?” his voice was full of worry causing Selene to rub her head.

“Sorry, Dusk. What is it that you need? Or are you teasing your sister again” she smiled as Dusk had his ears up.

“I am not teasing. Mother is looking for you along with auntie and grandma” he smiled before running out of the room teasing his sister again. They stopped as they noticed a lavender alicorn walking towards them.

“Did you two find her?”

“Yes, but it happened again” Dusk sighed as Twilight leaned down and nuzzle him.

“You two know she will never forget you two. She probably thinking too hard about something” she chuckled as Dusk sighed.

“Can we go”

“Your uncle Shining is in the castle. see if you two can go find him. he promised guard lessons to the first one” she whistled causing the twins to run out of the room. Twilight walked in and stared at Selene who was reading the scroll again. Six years have passed since Selene returned to land again. Her memory was bad but it was getting there as she returned to Twilight. Her memory slowly started to return as she spent time around the elements. Took her longer to stop calling Applejack angry fruit and Rainbow Dash ego with wings. Pinkie allowed her to keep calling her pink sugar. The mare actually liked that name. the cracks in her gem were filled with colors of her friend's coats showing who she remember. Her memory was still not working properly as there would be times she would forget something or someone. Six years have passed as Selene outgrew her tank in the library and the bed she shared with Twilight. Celestia was having the old castle renovated for them as Twilight earned her wings. And they needed a place to stay. Twilight and the mayor were busy working on building a sanctuary of their own as many merponies made it a place to stop and chat with locals trading and buying goods, before, moving on to Canterlot. However, plans were turned upside down as Trek came and caused massive amounts of damage to Ponyvile. The castle was put on halt as the town needed to be rebuilt. Selene and the twins were moved to Canterlot as it had room for them. Twilight would soon do the same after saving the world again from a time craze unicorn. Twilight chuckled at the memory.

The girls were gathered around the table discussing who will do what with Starlight Glimmer. Twilight was sitting in her seat till the doors burst open. The twins came running in giggling bouncing a bubble back and forth.

“Mamma!” they shouted tackling Twilight.

“You’re a mother” Starlight spoke up as Twilight nodded.

“Dusk, Celestial why don’t you meet Starlight Glimmer she is my student” Twilight pointed towards the unicorn. The twins waved their hooves as they pointed towards Spike.

“Can we borrow brother Spike? Mom promised we could get to Pink sugar’s place if Spike came. We got gold” they held up their bits as Twilight chuckled.

“Spike could you take the twins? I can give you money for Pinkie’s gem cake. A whole one,” she noticed he was staring at her before melting.

“Alright” he took the bits and walked out of the room as Selene walked in. She was taller than Princess Luna. Her mane was braided up as a small gem sat on her forehead. Starlight was enchanted as she noticed her fins were folded by her side. Selene was stopped as Starlight went around her in shock.

“I heard about the ruler of the sea. Never thought I would ever see one in my lifetime. What are these markings” she pointed to the lines along Selene’s leg and stomach.

“They are my markings showing who I am mated to” Selene spoke up as she looked down at the unicorn “now why am I seeing two mates?” she looked at Starlight as Rainbow laughed.

“She is my wife Starlight” Twilight stood up taking her illusion down allowing them to see her markings “I hid my markings when I am busy doing official stuff. Had some bad reactions when I left them out in the open” she smiled as Starlight glanced at Twilight.

“Your wife to the” Starlight glanced up at Selene who was staring at her.

“Not mate. But she looks like mate” Selene spoke up as Starlight passed out in front of her.

Twilight shook her head as that memory was a running joke between her friends and Starlight. Sighing she walked up towards Selene who placed the scroll down.

“Good book?” she smiled as Selene glanced over at her.

“NiTa asking if I could come back to the island. His eldest is getting mated. He is also getting markings to be the next elder. NiTa is worried he end up like his father Elder Sol and growing old worrying. I do not know how to respond to him. I know it would be nice to take the twins and see the islands. He also writes Elder Orion asking for Princess Luna” she chuckled as Twilight sat beside her.

“Dusk said it happened again” she watched as Selene glanced down.

“I guess it did. I have been thinking about the past. Never really spent this much time away from the islands. And I hear a voice calling to me. I hear the ocean. I think it's time for me to return for a bit” she smiled as Twilight nodded.

“I think it would be good to spend a month in the islands. Celestia has been bored recently so I think her stepping back as ruler would be good for her.” Twilight smiled as Selene nodded.

“It will also be good for the twins to see where I came from. NiTa will also be happy to see the twins”

“I know he would be” Twilight leaned over and kissed Selene on the cheek before cuddling under her fin. Selene moved close to Twilight watching the sunrise and the moon finally setting behind the horizon.
