A Merpony's Adventure

Selene was resting on the train allowing her tail to move freely. The twins were rolling around on their backs giggling and laughing. They were reaching up for her tail as she waved it above them. they let out loud giggles as she tickled them with her tail fin. Celestia stayed quiet as she watched from the far corner of the train. Selene was busy looking outside but made sure to keep the twins in line.

“Large castle” she spoke up as the train pulled into Canterlot. Selene placed her magic on before picking the twins upon her back. she was shocked at how big the city was as Celestia walked out beside her. Selene decided to follow her as they moved through the city towards the castle. Selene was silent as she moved through the castle staring at the different art pieces.

“This is a lot” She finally spoke up as they reached Sanctuary.

“I am leaving you here with Krill and Kibby” Celestia pointed towards the two shocked merponies. Selene waved her hoof at them as she smiled. Selene moved towards the large bed allowing her magic to fully go. Her tail was longer than normal as it draped off the bed and ended up between Celestia, Kibby, and Krill. Her fins were larger than small rugs moving softly. The fins behind her were larger than Celestia’s wings while her mane was past her hips. Selene was messing with her hair trying to get it out of her face.

“You’re…you’re” Celestia was stuttering causing Selene to look up at her.

“I was in a confided space. I also don’t like a long tail, too clumsy swimming” she smiled as she finally got her mane up as the twins were pulling on her fin. Celestia shook her head before looking at Kibby and Krill.

“I will leave her in your care. I need to talk to my sister” Selene watched as Celestia turned and walked out of the room. Kibby turned her head towards Selene who laid herself out playing with the twins. A smile was on her face causing Kibby to sigh.

“Okay I am going to just look over your tail and gem” Kibby smiled as Selene nodded giving them the illusion she wasn’t paying attention. To be honest she was watching them as her head was starting to hurt.

“Why is my head hurting around these merponies? Did I know them too?” she thought silently to herself as she noticed Kibby’s green tail. It made her relax a bit as she looked down at the twins since they were blabbing away happily before pulling her hair. As she was playing Kibby was moving along Selene’s tail whispering to Krill.

“Her tail is doing a lot better. I think the long rest helped” she moved further up as Krill nodded taking mental notes. She got up to the gem and stopped. It had cracks running along with the gem. Only one crack was filled and it was shaded pink and blue just like the twins' eyes. Kibby leaned in and spoke up “Her gem is cracked” this made Krill to sit up.

“Selene do you remember anything?” he smiled as Selene sat up looking at them.

“I remember the twins and their happy faces.” Kibby watched the gem as the line was softly glowing “I also remember Celestia” they watched as a line in her gem was filled in with white.

“Her memory is tied to her gem and the cracks” Krill spoke up as Selene looked towards them.

“This isn’t good” Kibby spoke up as Krill nodded. He climbed off the bed as Celestia walked back in with Luna beside her.

“I have a right to see her as well” Luna shouted as Krill got in front of the princesses.

“Princess Luna, Princess Celestia”

“How is she”

“Well ask you know her memory is gone. We found out that the gem on her back is cracked. Kibby ran a simple test and from what we see. Is that when she remembers something it fills a crack in with the color of the pony she remembers. She only knows you Celestia and the twins at the moment” he watched as Luna’s face fell. She walked around Krill moving towards Selene. this caused the merpony to turn and look at her.

“Hello Selene” she smiled as the merpony flexed her fins as Discord popped in.

“Sorry to interrupt but I need sun butt” he ran towards Celestia grabbing her and running. All of them simply stared as Discord ran out of the room carrying Celestia over his shoulder.

“Is he always like this?” Selene broke the silence as Luna nodded “This will be fun living on the land” her statement made them stare at her.

“You”

“Bits and pieces of it. You know whispering around me is not useful. It's how I could tell what was going on in the castle. It's easier to pretend not to pay attention. I know bits and pieces it makes my head hurt when the memories come. I am scared to see the rest of them” she looked towards Luna as Kibby was staring at Krill.

“Could have told me”

“I didn’t know” he backed up as Selene looked towards the twins picking them up in her hooves. They were reaching out to her causing her to lean down and nuzzle them.

“so what do you know of us?” Krill changed the topic as the mood in the room was starting to get tense.

“Krill is a humpback whale or a grey whale. Kibby is a healer and Luna is now my mother” she glanced towards them as Kibby sighed.

“You could have told me you knew us”

“I only know you three and Celestia. The group she came with on the ship was I not sure of. I know one is pink sugar to me while another is angry fruit while the last one was Ego on wings.” Selene shook her head before rubbing her temple “Can we stop” her voice grew quiet as Kibby nodded.

“Sorry” Kibby looked away as Selene held her hoof up.

“It’s fine its” she was stopped as Discord popped back in.

“Sorry again. Luna, I need your help” Discord was lying on the floor as Luna looked towards him.

“I am not cleaning up your mess”

“It’s Twilight”

“Bring her” Selene spoke up. This made the others turn their heads around to her “Pieces of my memories have a purple unicorn in them. I want to meet her” Selene picked up the twins before moving from the main room down the hall. She found the large master bedroom, allowing her some time alone giving her mind some rest. Placing the twins down in a small shallow pool a smile was on her face. Walking over to the pool that was against the glass, she placed her tail in the water waiting. It wasn’t long till the door was thrown open to the room. Twilight was panting heavily as she looked towards Selene. the merpony was staring outside her fins twitching now and then. Her eyes drifted over at the twins playing in the small pool.

“Selene?” her voice sounded tired.

“I can’t remember” Selene turned around breaking the silence. “I can’t remember a lot but you. I see you in pieces of my memory and when I think about or look at you. My head doesn’t hurt my heart does. When I think about the others my head hurts like I been overthinking” Selene looked around and looked at Twilight. The purple unicorn was staring at her before moving closer. The door was left open allowing the others to glance in watching in silence.

“You don’t” Twilight’s voice was sullen a bit as she moved closer. Selene shook her head as she looked down at the purple unicorn. Twilight’s ears flatten as she moved closer sitting down in front of her.

“When I woke up I heard the twins were gone. But when I heard you were up I wanted to see you. It's been hell these last three no four months while you were asleep. I didn’t know if you would wake up and” she had tears flowing down her face causing Selene to move closer. Her fins opened up as she made the water around her turn into a glowing fish moving around. Twilight noticed her fins and tail. Seeing that she stopped with the tears Selene placed the water down.

“I…my heart can not see you crying” she moved closer to Twilight nuzzling her “I know pieces of my past. I see you in that past” Selene laid out on the floor as Twilight leaned in and kissed her. Selene let out a bit of a happy squeak causing Twilight to laugh.

“Better?” Selene smiled as Twilight nodded. Looking at Selene pointed to them “What do we do about them?”

“How about we make more memories” she smiled as Selene nodded.

“I would like that but for now I would like to relax with you”

“Okay, we can give the happy couple and family time to themselves” Discord pushed the others away before closing the door. Selene let out a small chuckle as she walked towards the bed curling up on it. Twilight picked up the twins and carried them with her. She placed them between her and Selene making sure they wouldn’t roll off the bed as they lay there in silence just relaxing.
